War in Ukraine today: latest news, 19 August, 2024 (photo)

It has been the 908th day of the Ukrainian resistance to the russian military aggression. 

What happened in Ukraine today:

Here is operational information of the General Staff as of 6 pm:   

The russian invaders continued to storm the positions of the Ukrainian defenders. 

There were 78 combat engagements on the front line.

The border regions of Sumy suffered from cynical airstrikes launched from the airspace of the russian federation. The areas of the settlements Khotin and Obukhivka were affected by bombings today. Additionally, the russians conducted an airstrike using NARs on Porozok.

Lyptsi in Kharkiv oblast also came under enemy air bombardment. Moreover, towards Kharkiv, the occupiers carried out four unsuccessful attacks near Lyptsi and Vovchansk.

Towards Kupiansk, eight clashes occurred. The enemy advanced toward Torske, Hlushkivka, Makiivka, Stelmakhivka and Kruhliakivka. Currently, half of the attacks are ongoing.

The occupiers also struck twice with KABs in the vicinity of Kupiansk-Vuzlovyi.

Towards Lyman, the invaders’ army stormed Ukrainian defenders’ positions nine times. The enemy was most active towards Ploshchanka.

Towards Siversk, six clashes occurred during the day. The enemy advanced near Verkhnokamianske, Spirne and Ivano-Darivka. Three battles are still ongoing.

Towards Kramatorsk, the enemy carried out two assaults near Ivanivske and Andriivka. The clash near the latter is ongoing.

Towards Toretsk, the occupiers increased the number of attacks to nine, targeting Niu-York, Toretsk, Zalizne and Nelipivka. Seven battles have ended, and two are still ongoing.

Additionally, the invaders launched six airstrikes, dropping nine KABs on Shcherbynivka, Nelipivka and Toretsk.

Towards Pokrovsk, the russians conducted attacks in the vicinities of the settlements Vozdvyzhenka, Novohrodivka, Zelene Pole, Kalynove, Mykolaivka, Ptyche, Mykhailivka, Kamyshivka and Myroliubivka. The defence forces  held back the pressure of russian troops and repelled 24 attacks, with five clashes still ongoing. Enemy losses in this direction are being clarified.

The enemy also carried out three airstrikes with unguided air rockets on Oleksandropil.

Towards Kurakhove, the invaders unsuccessfully attacked five times near Nevelske and Kostiantynivka.

Towards Vremivka, the enemy used aviation for strikes, hitting the vicinity of the settlement Makarivka three times with NARs. Additionally, they carried out three assault actions, attempting to advance from Volodymyrivka and Solodke, and attacked near Vodiane.

Towards Kherson and Orikhiv, the invaders did not carry out offensive or assault actions today. Instead, they launched nearly sixty NARs towards Piatykhatky, Huliai Pole and Olhivka. They also dropped three aerial bombs on the vicinities of Novodanylivka and Temyrivka.


The press service of the Ministry reported that the Armed Forces of Ukraine have adopted around 10 new pistols and submachine guns. Most of the weapons are 9mm calibre, but more powerful 11.43mm calibre weapons have also been approved for use by the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The pistols are foreign-made by well-known arms companies from the USA, Italy and Belgium.

Recent war events in the east of Ukraine

The General Staff said that the Defence Forces repelled 118 russian attacks in Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts yesterday. Towards Toretsk, russian troops attacked 24 times near Zalizne, Toretsk, Dyliivka and Nelipivka.

Towards Pokrovsk, Ukrainian troops repelled 45 attacks near Vozdvyzhenka, Kalynove, Zelene Pole, Myroliubivka, Hrodivka, Mykolaivka, Ptyche, Novohrodivka, Zavitne, Skuchne and Mykhailivka. The highest concentration of attacks was near Vozdvyzhenka and Novohrodivka.

Kharkiv oblast

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that as of 4pm, fighting with the russian occupiers continued towards Kupiansk, with a total of 8 russian attacks since the beginning of the day. Towards Kharkiv, the defence forces repelled all four attacks by the russian army.

Head Viktor Kovalenko reported that the russian army launched 17 attacks on Odnorobivka of Zolochiv community. According to him, the village has been shelled with multiple rocket launchers for the second day in a row. The outbuildings and power grids were damaged.

Viacheslav Zadorenko, Head of Derhachi CMA, reported that two people were injured as a result of a russian tank attack on Kozacha Lopan. For three hours, a russian tank hit the village at least 10 times, and a fire broke out.

Viacheslav Zadorenko added that more than a thousand subscribers in four settlements of Derhachi community were left without electricity due to the shelling of Kozacha Lopan in the morning. According to him, the energy infrastructure was heavily damaged during the shelling.

The press service of the regional prosecutor’s office informed that a 78-year-old resident of Novoosynove in Kupiansk region was injured as a result of russian shelling that occurred around 10:30am. Also russia shelled the village with artillery, damaging private households.

At around 3:15am, the occupiers attacked Kozacha Lopan in Derhachi community. The shelling damaged two private houses. There was no information about the victims.

Yesterday around 8:10am, russians attacked Novoplatonivka village of Borova community, Izium region. As a result of the enemy shelling, coniferous litter burned on an area of over 9 hectares.

At 9:47am, russians attacked Kivsharivka village of Kupiansk region. The shelling damaged three five-storey residential buildings, premises and equipment of a landscaping company.

At around 10am, russians attacked Kupiansk. As a result of the shelling, a 52-year-old woman sustained an explosive wound.

At 11:20am, Kupiansk was hit. As a result of the shelling an outbuilding was burning. There was no information about the victims.

At 12:47pm, russians attacked Sobolivka village of Kindrashivka community, Kupiansk region. As a result of the shelling, the grass was burning.

At 8:05pm, russians attacked Vilne village of Balakliia community, Izium region. As a result of the shelling, grass was burning in the open area. There was no information about casualties.

At 10:27pm, russians attacked Kupiansk. As a result of the shelling, houses and outbuildings were burning.

Towards Kharkiv, there were three combat engagements near Vovchansk and Lyptsi. Two enemy attacks are ongoing.

Towards Kupiansk, the enemy attacked our troops’ defensive lines 16 times, specifically near Synkivka, Hlushkivka, Kolisnykivka and Stelmakhivka. 12 battles have been completed and four are ongoing.

Overall, more combat engagements were registered towards Kupiansk than in the north of the oblast. Several crossings were destroyed.

The Kharkiv operational-strategic unit reported that russian troops replenished their forces near Lyptsi, and ammunition and medical supplies in Vovchansk.

At least three people were killed in Kharkiv oblast during the week of 12-18 August as a result of russian shelling. At least 26 people were wounded and most of those injured were residents of Kupiansk region.

Since the beginning of the year, the enemy has fired 2,740 times on the territory of the region: 950 KABs, 346 rockets.

Kharkiv Regional Military Administration and the Danish Refugee Council in Ukraine signed a Memorandum of Understanding.

This document formalises our ongoing cooperation in the following areas: demining and safety training in the areas affected by the hostilities; assistance to internally displaced persons; and support in preparing for the heating season.

Donetsk oblast

Anastasiia Miedviedieva, Spokeswoman of the regional Prosecutor’s Office, said that at 4:45pm, russian troops fired again at Toretsk. As a result, a 37-year-old resident of Toretsk was injured. He has arm and leg lacerations.

Yurii Tretiak, Acting Head of Myrnohrad CMA, informed that Myrnohrad is just under 6km from the front line. It is currently impossible to count the number of people in the city because there is a flow of people leaving the settlement. There are 691 children in the community.

Vadym Filashkin, Head of Donetsk Regiona Military Administration, stated that starting tomorrow, the hospital in Myrnohrad will stop accepting patients and will be redirected to Dobropillia and Pokrovsk communities. Starting tomorrow, Nova Poshta branches will also stop working in Myrnohrad, starting from 20 August. From today, a new curfew is in effect in Myrnohrad – from 3pm to 11am. 

On 20 August, Pokrovsk community introduced a forced evacuation of families with children. If the front line approaches, the curfew will be tightened here.

Serhii Dobriak, Head of the CMA, said that 500-600 people a day leave Pokrovsk community. Before the situation escalated, up to 500 people a month were leaving. Yesterday 490 people left the city, 135 of them by evacuation train, the rest left by their own transport. More than a thousand people can be taken out of the community by train per day. People have a week or two to evacuate. All services are working in Pokrovsk: water, electricity, gas, public transport, shops, markets, banks, courts, the State Migration Service, and the ASC, but everything will be closed in one or two weeks.

Ukrainian Armed Forces Commander-in-Chief Syrskyi confirmed that heavy fighting continues towards Pokrovsk. The defence forces are also doing everything necessary to protect Toretsk.

The regional prosecutor’s office said that russian troops shelled Toretsk and Zarichne. As a result, two women and two men were killed.

Serhii Chaus, Head of Chasiv Yar City Military Administration, reported that more than half a thousand residents remain there. One person was evacuated last week.

Today there was no evacuation, but food packages were delivered there.

Donetsk police document the consequences of russian strikes on civilians and three people killed and 9 injured yesterday. Also russian troops struck 2,806 times at the frontline and residential areas. The occupiers attacked 12 settlements. 58 civilian objects were destroyed, including 36 residential buildings, administrative buildings, an educational institution, garages and vehicles and power grids.

The enemy shelled Myrnohrad five times by a KAB-500 bomb with a UMPK module, Smerch MRLs, artillery and a drone. One civilian was killed and one injured. 19 private houses, administrative and non-residential buildings, and a car were damaged.

The russians hit Rozlyv village by Tornado-S MRLS, killing one person and injuring another. Seven private houses, a car and a power line were damaged.

Toretsk is on fire, we have information about one killed and one injured resident.

The russian invaders shelled Kostiantynivka with artillery and as a result, one person was injured, and the house, garages and communications damaged. A resident of Hirnyk was also injured in the attack.

Velyka Novosilka was hit by a KAB-500 bomb with a UMPK module and a drone, damaging 6 private houses and a social infrastructure facility.

Bilozerka mine currently employs over two hundred women, almost fifty of whom work underground. The number of women miners at the coal mine is increasing due to the mobilisation of men and the evacuation of the population to safer regions. The biggest shortage now is of underground miners, as well as underground plant and electric locomotive operators and electricians.

The city council has opened support centres called “With Bakhmut in the Heart” in 9 cities across Ukraine, including Kyiv, Kharkiv, Dnipro, Odesa and Poltava. 8 support centres have been set up to support the residents of Toretsk community: in Dnipro, Kyiv, Cherkasy and Khmelnytskyi.

Luhansk oblast

Artem Lysohor, Head of Luhansk RMA, reported that a 66-year-old woman and a 34-year-old man were evacuated from Nevske. They agreed to leave when the russian army destroyed their house.

Yesterday the enemy attacked near four settlements: near Stelmakhivka towards Kupiansk and in the areas of Hrekivka, Makiivka and Nevske towards Lyman. The invaders are targeting these villages, destroying the last residential buildings. Thus, Nevske and Makiivka were shelled with artillery this time. The occupiers used 65 unmanned aerial vehicles in this area of the frontline.

The decision to reduce the network of cultural institutions on the territory of the so-called “lpr” was made by the occupation “ministry of culture”.  This is due to the lack of money to support the activities of the institutions and to equip or repair them.  Cultural institutions that need to be repaired or purchase new equipment, in other words, significant investments, will be the first to be “optimised”. Next, those located in towns and villages with a small population, as well as those with sufficient vacancies. Under the russian Culture project, which makes it impossible to rebuild institutions, these settlements will be provided with clubs on wheels.

In Sievierodonetsk, the programme of nationalisation of real estate was extended to dachas and garden plots around the city. People were given a month to confirm their ownership. They also used advertisements around the town and on the Internet, which the townspeople still do not have, so the residents of Sievierodonetsk learned about the possible loss of their property by chance.

What is happening now in the north of Ukraine

Kyiv oblast

Ruslan Kravchenko, Head of the RMA, reported that at night the enemy attacked Kyiv oblast with attack drones. Air defence forces were deployed across the oblast. Enemy targets were shot down. There were no hits to residential and critical infrastructure.

Kyiv RMA reported that the liquidation of the consequences of the russian shelling on 18 August is ongoing. According to updated data, two houses were destroyed as a result of falling debris, 50 private houses, 5 cars, a workshop, garages and power lines were damaged. There were no injuries among the population. Rescuers reported that citizens from the destroyed and damaged residential buildings are being provided with the necessary assistance.

The volunteer formation of the territorial community of the heroic city of Bucha ‘Bucha Volunteers’ reported that military exercises have begun in Bucha and village Vorzel . They will last for three days, day and night. The military warns residents of Kyiv oblast about possible sounds of explosions and shots during the day and night.

The State Emergency Service reported that 60 fragments of cluster munitions were found in one of Kyiv’s forest parks at the site of the fall of the wreckage of a russian X-101 missile. These explosive items look like small silver balls and can attract the attention of children. The sappers collected the explosives, took to a special demolition site and destroyed.

The RMA reported that in Irpin, the reconstruction of the Vesnianka kindergarten, which was attended by 160 children before the war, is underway at the expense of the FLN. The institution’s supporting structures, utilities, and roof were completely destroyed, and one of the buildings was beyond repair. After the reconstruction, the institution will be able to accommodate up to 300 children.

Iryna Zakharchenko, the Village Head, informed that the Lyceum No. 1 in Borodyanka, which was destroyed by the russians, has been restored. Currently, the school is being equipped with modern facilities and classrooms. Volleyball, football and basketball courts, a training area and a recreation area have been set up on the territory of the lyceum. The school will start working in September.

Makariv Mayor Vadym Tokar announced that the Makariv community has handed over three DJI Mavic 3 quadcopters for the military at the front line. The drones were purchased at the expense of the local budget.

On 21 August, DonorUA will hold an on-site blood drive at the Gulliver shopping and entertainment centre in Kyiv. Blood will be collected to be sent to the frontline. The event will take place from 10:00 to 14:00 on the eighth floor. The procedure will be carried out by specialists from the Kyiv Regional Blood Service Centre. 

Zhytomyr oblast

A gastronomic event called Youth Borsch was held in Zviahel to raise funds for the treatment of a wounded soldier. 12 teams from different parts of Ukraine cooked borsch, which could be tasted for a donation. The event brought together young people from Zhytomyr, Zaporizhzhia and Khmelnytskyi oblasts, IDPs from Kherson, Kharkiv, Donetsk, Luhansk and other oblasts, veterans and families of fallen soldiers. The event raised almost UAH 90,000 which was donated to treat wounded soldier Volodymyr Opanasiuk from Zviahel.

Sumy oblast

Oleh Zahorskyi, Head of community, reported that around 11am, russian army carried out attacks using FPV drones on Seredyna-Buda community. As a result of the attack, two people were injured.

During night and morning, russians carried out 21 shelling attacks on border areas and settlements in Sumy oblast, resulting in 33 explosions. The attacks targeted Yunakivka, Myropillia, Bilopillia, Krasnopillia, Velyka Pysarivka, Putyvl, Hlukhiv and Shalyhyne communities.

On 18 August, the enemy carried out 89 shelling attacks on border areas and settlements in  Sumy oblast, resulting in 222 explosions. The attacks targeted Yunakivka, Bilopillia, Vorozhba, Lebedyn, Krasnopil, Velyka Pysarivka, Putyvl, Nova Sloboda, Hlukhiv, Esman, Shalyhyne, Druzhbivka and Seredy na-Buda communities.

Bilopillia community: russian  carried out an airstrike with KAB munitions (5 explosions). As a result of the airstrike, one civilian was killed, and three others were injured, including an 11-year-old child. There was also an attack with an FPV drone (1 explosion).

Velyka Pysarivka community: FPV drone strikes (5 explosions). Additionally, VOG grenades were dropped from UAVs (4 explosions), unguided rockets were launched from a helicopter (8 explosions), artillery shelling (21 explosions), and mortar shelling(32 explosions).

Krasnopillia community: russians struck with artillery (17 explosions), mortars (23 explosions), and multiple rocket launchers (10 explosions). There were also unguided rocket launches from a helicopter (9 explosions) and FPV drone strikes (2 explosions).

Druzhbivka community: FPV drone strikes were recorded (7 explosions).

Yunakivka community: airstrikes with KAB munitions were carried out (4 explosions). As a result, a local resident was injured.

Seredyna-Buda community: FPV drone strikes were carried out (8 explosions), along with artillery (15 explosions) and mortar shelling (9 explosions).

Nova Sloboda community: FPV drone strikes were recorded  (1 explosion).

Lebedyn community: rocket fire (1 explosion).

Hlukhiv community: FPV drone strikes (8 explosions).

Vorozhba community: airstrikes with KAB munitions (2 explosions).

Putyvl community: russians dropped 6 mines.

Esman community: FPV drone strikes (1 explosion). 

Ministry of Energy reported that 6,900 subscribers remained without electricity in Sumy oblast. 6,700 of them were due to hostilities, 226 – due to technical violations. Also a gas pipeline was damaged in one settlement. 360 private sector consumers are without gas supply. 

Chernihiv oblast

Throughout the day, russian forces attacked eight settlements in three border communities of Chernihiv oblast: Novhorod-Siverskyi, Semenivka and Snovsk. The enemy used artillery, dropped explosive devices from UAVs and FPV drones.

Novhorod-Siverskyi community:

Towards Kamin: 14 hits, likely from artillery;

Towards Hremiach: 1 hit, likely from FPV drone;

Towards Pushkari: 1 hit, likely from UAVs.

Semenivka community:

Towards Karpovychi: 5 hits, likely from dropped explosive devices from UAVs;

Towards Mkhi: 1 hit, likely from dropped explosive devices from UAVs;

Toward Liskivshchina: 2 hits, likely from dropped explosive devices from UAVs and 8 hits likely from artillery;

Towards Semenivka: 1 hit, likely  from FPV drone

Snovsk community

Towards  Hirsk: 1 hit,  likely  from FPV drone

No casualties or injuries from shelling among the local population have been reported.

Viacheslav Chaus, Head of Chernihiv RMA, announced  that the Help-UA Charity Fund with the support of German partners donated a dental office (equipment, instruments, and consumables) and an ultrasound machine to Semenivka community. Additionally, a 60 kW generator was provided to Baturyn community. 

Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

The defenders of the sky shot down 2 enemy drones, a reconnaissance UAV and a Shahed, over the oblast at night. From evening until morning, the occupiers were shelling Nikopol region. They shelled Pokrovsk and Chervonohryhorivka with artillery. They launched about a dozen shells. In the morning, they attacked Marhanets with kamikaze drones. Fortunately, no one was injured.

In the afternoon, air defence forces shot down an enemy reconnaissance drone over the oblast.

The enemy attacked Nikopol region almost fifteen times. They used kamikaze drones and launched more than three dozen artillery shells. They targeted the region centre, Myrove, Pokrovsk and Marhanets. A fire broke out, destroying 2 private houses and a car, and damaging a multi-storey building. No people were injured. The occupiers also fired artillery at Synelnykove and Kryvyi Rih. Zelenodolsk was also hit. Infrastructure, solar panels and an outbuilding were damaged. In addition, solar panels were damaged after a drone was shot down in the area.

Vinnytsia oblast

Mayor Serhii Morhunov announced that Vinnytsia oblast has handed over 200 FPVs to border guards. 

Kirovohrad oblast

Andrii Raikovych, Head of the RMA, reported that Kirovohrad oblast has experienced 2,302 alarms since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the russian aggressor. Their total timing is almost 91 days and 20 hours. 

Three soldiers were killed in the war with russia. They are Vitalii Mykhailov from Novhorodivka, Vladyslav Syniavskyi from Haivoron and Volodymyr Ostrovskyi from Blahovishchensk.

Vitalii Mykhailov was killed on 15 August 2024 in Pokrovsk region of Donetsk oblast. 

Soldier Vladyslav Syniavskyi was killed on 15 August 2024 near the village of Kostiantynivka, Pokrovsk region, Donetsk oblast. 

Volodymyr Ostrovskyi was killed on 13 August 2024 near the village of Skuchne, Pokrovsk region, Donetsk oblast.

Poltava oblast

In Poltava, locals said goodbye to three fallen defenders of Ukraine. Oleksandr Kapustnyk, Oleh Zakharchuk and Vladyslav Stetsenko were killed in the defence of Ukraine. The soldiers were killed in Kharkiv oblast of Ukraine and in Kursk oblast of the russian federation.

Three residents of Poltava oblast were killed in the war during the defence of Ukraine. Soldiers Serhii Kolenichenko and Taras Rohovyi were killed on a combat mission in Kursk oblast. Vasyl Kovach was killed near the town of Dobropillia in Donetsk oblast.

188 prisoners from Poltava oblast expressed a desire to voluntarily mobilise into the Armed Forces of Ukraine. According to the decision of the Military Qualification Commission, 137 people were found fit for service.

Cherkasy oblast

Ihor Taburets, Head of RMA, announced that Cherkasy oblast delivered five vehicles to the defenders. Among them is an ambulance with a powerful and valuable load of tactical medicine. Dry plasma, devices for heating liquids and many other things that are equally important for saving lives. This ‘tranche’ of support also includes more than 30 units of ground robotic platforms. All of this is already on its way to Sumy oblast.

Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine

Zaporizhzhia oblast

Yesterday, on 18 August, the occupiers carried out 333 strikes on 10 settlements in Zaporizhzhia oblast. Russian forces launched airstrikes on Kamianske and Huliaipole. A total of 223 drones of various modifications attacked Huliaipole, Novoandriivka, Robotyne, Mala Tokmachka, Levadne, Malynivka and Novomykolaivka. Four MLRS strikes hit Robotyne and Levadne. There were 104 artillery attacks on the territories of Prymorske, Huliaipole, Novoandriivka, Robotyne, Mala Tokmachka, Malynivka, Dolynka and Levadne. Four reports were received about the destruction of residential buildings and infrastructure.

Mykolaiv oblast

At around 12:20pm explosions were heard in the city of Snihurivka. Prior to this, an air raid alert was declared in the oblast and the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine warned of a ballistic threat. The air raid alert in Mykolaiv oblast was announced at 12:18pm. The Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported a threat of the use of ballistic weapons from the east and Crimea. As of 12:56pm, no information about damage or injuries had been received by emergency services.

At night the air defence forces destroyed three Shahed 131/136 drones in Mykolaiv oblast.  In total, air defence forces shot down 20 Shahed 131/136 attack drones in the skies over Mykolaiv oblast during the past week, on 12-18 of August. 

Yesterday, on 18 August, the enemy attacked Kutsurub community four times with FPV drones and also carried out one artillery shelling. The city of Ochakiv was under enemy artillery fire. As a result of the attacks, a residential house was damaged. Additionally, a fire broke out on the property of a private household and in an open area. All fires were promptly extinguished by firefighters.

Odesa oblast

As of 6am, there are no enemy ships in the Black and Azov Seas. There is one enemy ship in the Mediterranean Sea, but no carriers of Kalibr cruise missiles.

Yesterday seven vessels passed through the Kerch Strait into the Black Sea, and five vessels entered the Azov Sea in the interests of the russian federation.

Kherson oblast

Today, russian military forces once again shelled Kherson. As a result of the attack, a 36-year-old woman sustained minor injuries: a concussion and blast trauma.

Yesterday, russian army attacks affected Kherson, Antonivka, Sadove, Poniativka, Pryozerne, Tomyna Balka, Prydniprovske, Stanislav, Stepanivka, Lvove, Dudchany, Mykhailivka, Novokairy, Khreshchenivka, and Mykolaivka. The shelling damaged 58 objects: 49 private houses, a store, a kindergarten, a school, four cars, a gas pipeline, and a boat. Three people were injured due to russian aggression.

Kherson Regional Military Administration reported another person injured in a russian artillery strike on the morning of 17 August. A resident of Beryslav suffered blast trauma and a concussion.

The enemy continues its attempts to dislodge our units from their positions. The enemy conducted four assaults, but they were unsuccessful.

Yesterday, Ukrainian defenders eliminated 76 occupiers and 25 pieces of weaponry and military equipment. Four field supply buildups, one storage site for logistical materials, one cable ferry, two observation posts, one enemy personnel accommodation site, seven bunkers, and one generator were targeted.

Latest news for today in the western regions of Ukraine

Volyn oblast

From 22 July to 19 August, Volyn oblast received 495 IDPs from other oblasts. In total, 80,458 displaced persons arrived in the oblast in search of shelter. 44,751 people have the status of IDPs. This amounts to 32,409 families, in which 12,034 are children. Among the IDPs 2,257 people with disabilities, 6,848 pensioners, 86 families with many children and 18 families of single parents.

Zakarpattia oblast

Yasinian school received a new solid fuel boiler room from the Vysochyn and Pardubice regions of the Czech Republic. This is a modular boiler house with 2 150 kW boilers.

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast

The RMA reported that relatives of Vasyl Kalvarovskyi received the III degree For Courage Order (posthumously) and the For the Defense of Ukraine President’s award.

Lviv oblast

For the 1st time in the history of Ukraine, the All-Ukrainian High School Gvardiets was held in Lviv oblast. During the event, over 100 participants from 10 oblasts of Ukraine practised their military skills.

14 children from Lviv oblast, aged 8-14, whose parents were killed in the war, went missing or are serving in the Armed Forces, will rest for a week in Slovakia thanks to the Embassy of Slovakia in Ukraine.

Rivne oblast

49 students from 8 communities of the oblast, whose relatives were killed or went missing during the war went to Bulgaria for rehabilitation thanks to the RMA, the Regional Council, the Union of Churches of the CVE and the American Life Christian Church.

Ternopil oblast

Since the beginning of the year, almost 14,000 Ukrainians have had the opportunity to fully or partially cover the cost of acquiring a profession, specialty or advanced training from the State Employment Service. In Ternopil oblast, over 500 residents took advantage of this opportunity, including 27 combatants; 19 IDPs and 19 people with disabilities.

Khmelnytskyi oblast

Oleksandr Simchyshyn, Mayor of Khmelnytskyi, received a diploma from Kyrylo Budanov, Head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications. Units of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine received FPV drones, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), EW complex and other necessary means for carrying out combat missions from Khmelnytskyi community thanks to the budget funds.

Khmelnytskyi City Council allocated UAH 9m for the construction of shelters. These are new shelters in schools and kindergartens.

Chernivtsi oblast

The formation of a network of Centers for teaching the updated subject Defense of Ukraine continues. Previously, the Department of Education and Science of Chernivtsi oblast received 34 applications from heads of education management bodies and educational institutions for the creation of such Centers.

International support of Ukraine in the russian-Ukrainian war (russia’s invasion of Ukraine)

The British government confirmed the use of tanks provided to Ukraine in Kursk oblast operation. According to the report, British weapons, including drones, played a key role in Ukraine’s new offensive, and their military experts closely advised their Ukrainian counterparts for 2 years on a scale unmatched by any other country.

Kadri Simson, the European Commissioner on Energy Issues, called on allies to help Ukraine avoid a humanitarian disaster in the winter. She emphasised that Ukraine should not be alone in preparing for the hardest winter.

Narendra Modi, Indian Prime Minister, will visit Ukraine for the first time since the full-scale invasion of the russian federation. Modi’s visit to Ukraine will take place just a month after his trip to moscow to meet with russian dictator putin. Modi will make the visit in response to an invitation from Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Ukrainian President, who had a phone conversation with the Indian prime minister earlier this year.
