Here is operational information of the General Staff as of 4 pm:
On 12 April, the number of attacks by the aggressor since the beginning of the day was 55.
The aggressor is shelling border regions. In Sumy oblast, the settlements of Tovstodubove, Iskryskivshchyna, and Bachivsk were affected.
- Towards Northern Sloboda and Kursk: The enemy carried out nine shellings of settlements and Ukrainian troop positions.
- Towards Southern Sloboda: The enemy tried to improve its position seven times in the vicinity of Synelnykove, Starytsia, Izbytske, and Vovchansk. One attack is ongoing.
- Towards Kupiansk: The adversary conducted assault actions twice in the vicinity of Petropavlivka and Podoly. One of these attacks is ongoing.
- Towards Lyman: Ukrainian warriors are repelling two attempts by the invaders to advance toward Lyman.
- Towards Sloviansk: The adversary attacked four times toward Ozerne, Kalenyky, and Rai-Oleksandrivka.
- Towards Kramatorsk: The occupiers attacked once in the vicinity of Markove.
- Towards Kostiantynivka: The invaders carried out 11 attacks near the settlements of Kostiantynivka, Pleshchiivka, Illinivka, Novopavlivka, and Kucheriv Yar. One assault action is ongoing.
- Towards Pokrovsk: The occupiers have tried 14 times to dislodge Ukrainian warriors from occupied positions in the vicinity of Bilytske, Rodynske, Myrnohrad, Zatyshok, Hryshyne, Pokrovsk, Udachne, Molodetske, Muravka, and Novopavlivka. One enemy assault action continues.
- Towards Oleksandrivka: The enemy attacked five times toward the settlements of Zelenyi Hai, Oleksandrohrad, Sichneve, Kalynivske, and Verbove.
- Towards Huliaipole: There were nine attacks toward the positions of Ukrainian defenders in the vicinity of Zaliznychne, Staroukrainka, Myrne, Varvarivka, and Huliaipilske.
- Towards Orikhiv and Kherson: The occupiers did not conduct assault actions.
In other directions, no significant changes in the situation are currently occurring. There were no enemy attempts to advance. Ukrainian troops continue to exhaust the enemy along the entire line of combat engagement and in the rear.
Recent war events in the east of Ukraine
Kharkiv oblast
On 11 April, as of 22:00, there were 101 combat engagements. Towards Southern Sloboda, the Russians stormed the positions of the Defense Forces five times in the vicinity of Starytsia, Veterinaryne, Prylipka, and Vovchanski Khutory. Towards Kupiansk, Ukrainian warriors repelled three attacks toward Petropavlivka and Novoosynove.
In northern Kharkiv oblast, the Defense Forces neutralized 70 Russian servicemen and destroyed nine cars, 15 units of special equipment, 68 drones, and one artillery system.
Russian troops likely executed four Ukrainian prisoners of war in the vicinity of Veterinaryne (Derhachi community). These were reportedly soldiers from one of the AFU mechanized brigades.
In the morning of 12 April, the impact of a Russian FPV drone and a Molniya type UAV was recorded in Zolochiv. As a result of the drone strike on a shop roof, a 32-year-old man sustained burns, and a 63-year-old woman suffered an acute stress reaction.
According to local authorities, morning Russian attacks in Klynova Novoselivka destroyed a house and damaged outbuildings. Another Russian drone strike was recorded near a household in Zolochiv, damaging a house and outbuildings.
During the past day, four settlements in Kharkiv oblast were struck by Russian forces; there were no casualties. The Russians deployed four KABs, Lancet and Molniya type drones, two FPV drones, and one drone of an unidentified type.
Civilian infrastructure was damaged as a result of the shelling. In the Izium region, a private house and an outbuilding were damaged in the village of Oskil; a fire also broke out there involving two outbuildings with a total area of 110 square meters. In the Kharkiv region, an apartment building was damaged in the settlement of Kozacha Lopan.
In northern Kharkiv oblast, russians launched three airstrikes, shelled Defense Forces positions and settlements 154 times, and deployed 80 kamikaze drones. Additionally, the Russians struck the outskirts of Svitlychne (Zolochiv community) with KABs, and an FPV drone strike on a road was recorded in Zolochiv.
Other Updates The transit evacuation point in Lozova received 100 people in the past 24 hours. Since the point began operating, 37,943 people have been registered there.
Donetsk oblast
On 12 April, as of 07:00, the russian army violated the ceasefire regime declared for the so-called “Easter truce” over two thousand times across the entire line of contact. russian troops conducted assaults and attacked with kamikaze and FPV drones; however, they did not deploy missiles, aerial bombs, or Shahed-type drones.
During the past day, the Defense Forces repelled 22 russian assaults towards Pokrovsk, specifically in the vicinity of Rodynske, Dorozhne, Myrnohrad, Udachne, Novomykolaivka, Molodetske, and Novopavlivka.
Throughout 11 April, the Russians attacked the front line and the residential sector of Donetsk oblast. Eight settlements were under fire: Dobropillia, Druzhkivka, Kramatorsk, Sloviansk, Myrna Dolyna, Novomykolaivka, Samiilivka, and Shostakivka. A total of 117 civilian objects were destroyed, including 80 residential houses.

On 11 April, Russians struck Kramatorsk with four aerial bombs and two drones. As a result of the attack, 11 civilians were wounded; 18 apartment buildings, an infrastructure facility, and 11 cars were damaged.
In Druzhkivka, two people were wounded as a result of an attack. The Russians directed five FPV drones at the city, damaging an apartment building, a private house, and a civilian car.
In Sloviansk, a civilian was injured due to drone attacks. A private house and a car were damaged there.
Dobropillia sustained two strikes, including a KAB-250 bomb. One person was wounded. An enterprise, a private house, and two garages were damaged.
In Novomykolaivka, Russians carried out a combined shelling using three KABs and Tornado-S MLRS. Five apartment buildings and 46 private houses, a farm, an enterprise, and seven civilian cars were damaged.
In Shostakivka, a Geran-2 type drone strike damaged five private houses and an administrative building. In Samiilivka and Myrna Dolyna, one private house in each was damaged.

Luhansk oblast
Since the beginning of the past day, russians have attempted to attack 13 times towards Lyman and Sloviansk. Combat operations took place in the vicinity of six settlements. In Luhansk oblast, the occupiers deployed tube artillery four times and struck with mortars twice. They directed 10 UAVs and FPV drones toward the positions of Ukrainian warriors.
In Sievierodonetsk, the occupation authorities are forcing people to pay for the use of elevators that do not work. The tariff is charged regardless of whether old cabins were replaced with new ones, even though not a single elevator is functioning. A recalculation is only possible with a separate certificate confirming the non-provision of service for each specific elevator.
In Antratsyt, the occupation authorities are attempting to resolve a critical medical service situation by deploying doctors on temporary assignments from Kalmykia. Despite the fact that the city has not suffered destruction from combat operations, it faces an acute staff shortage. After completing higher education, young people try not to return, and state programs have failed to rectify the situation. The assigned medics arrive only twice a year and work both in Antratsyt and in surrounding settlements, where the medical situation is even worse.
What is happening now in the north of Ukraine
Kyiv oblast
According to the Kyiv City State Administration, five air raid alerts were sounded in the capital this week. In total, they lasted for over two hours.
At St Sophia’s Cathedral in Kyiv, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and First Lady Olena Zelenska met with orphaned children from Kyiv and Kyiv oblast whose parents sacrificed their lives for Ukraine.
The Regional State Administration reported that, as part of the ‘Army of Restoration’ project, over 82,000 Ukrainians have joined in performing socially useful work in the regions.
The Irpin territorial community has signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Kramatorsk City Council regarding support for internally displaced persons and assistance to frontline communities.
Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko announced that the City Social Services Centre’s park has been reinforced with three new specialised minibuses, donated by German partners.
In the Obukhiv territorial community, the University of the Third Age received modern computer equipment from Raiffeisen Bank to set up a digital literacy classroom.
Zhytomyr oblast
In Korosten, following the missile strike on 3 April – which killed one woman and injured 11 people – residents are repairing their damaged homes, applying for compensation, and awaiting decisions from the commissions and payments from the city authorities. As a result of the russian air strike, around 100 buildings were damaged and 18 destroyed, including nine residential houses.
Sumy oblast
Oleh Hryhorov, Head of the Regional Military Administration, reported that during the night of 12 April, the enemy carried out a deliberate attack on a medical vehicle in Hlukhiv community. Three medics were injured as a result of the strike. They were promptly provided with medical assistance, and there is no threat to their lives.

The 17-year-old boy who was injured by an enemy mine in Shostka community on 11 April remains in a critical condition. Doctors performed a complex operation. His condition is currently being stabilised, and he is being prepared for transfer to Okhmatdyt for further treatment.
The Regional Military Administration informed that over the past day, 11 April, seven people were injured as a result of russian attacks in Sumy oblast.
In Svesa community, a 59-year-old man was injured following a drone strike.
In Hlukhiv community, men aged 25, 52, and 57 were injured after a UAV struck an ambulance vehicle.
In Khutir-Mykhailivskyi community, a 17-year-old boy was injured after encountering an explosive device while riding a motorcycle.
In Khotin community, men aged 30 and 39 were injured as a result of the detonation of an explosive device.
A 29-year-old woman who sustained severe injuries as a result of enemy shelling in Shostka region died in hospital. She had been hospitalised in Kyiv in an extremely critical condition. Doctors fought for her life for more than a week.
Over the past day, from the morning of 11 April to the morning of 12 April, russian forces carried out more than 70 attacks on 19 settlements across 12 territorial communities of the oblast. The highest number of attacks was recorded in Sumy and Shostka regions. The enemy used mortars, artillery, MLRS, FPV drones, UAVs, and guided aerial bombs. Air raid alerts in the oblast lasted for 12 hours and 14 minutes over the day.
Civilian infrastructure facilities were damaged and destroyed:
- in Znob-Novhorodske community, a private residential house, outbuildings, and a civilian infrastructure facility were damaged;
- in Esman community, a private residential house was destroyed, and another private house and outbuildings were damaged;
- in Mykolaivka rural community, a building of an educational institution was damaged;
- in Krasnopillia community, civilian infrastructure facilities were damaged;
- in Khotin community, private houses and outbuildings were damaged, and agricultural machinery was destroyed;
- in Velyka Pysarivka community, a private residential house was destroyed, while other private houses and a vehicle were damaged;
- in Bilopillia community, private residential houses were damaged;
- in Yunakivka community, a private residential house was damaged;
- in Hlukhiv community, a passenger vehicle and an ambulance were damaged;
- in Svesa community, a passenger vehicle was damaged.
Chernihiv oblast
Chernihiv Border Guard Detachment reported that in Chernihiv oblast, russian forces shelled three border communities — Semenivka, Snovsk, and Horodnia — on 11 April up to 4pm. The enemy carried out shelling using mortars (2 explosions) and tube artillery (23 explosions), conducted FPV drone strikes (10 explosions), and dropped an explosive device from a UAV (1 explosion). Seven settlements came under enemy fire. After 4pm and as of the morning of 12 April, no provocations by russian forces were recorded.
Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine
Dnipropetrovsk oblast
Mykola Lukashuk, Head of the Regional Council, said that during the night, the enemy attacked Mezhova community by an FPV drone. A garage and a vehicle caught fire. According to updated information, a 51-year-old man was seriously injured as a result of the previous day’s attacks.
Vinnytsia oblast
In Vinnytsia oblast, Archbishop of Vinnytsia and Bar Pavlo visited a military hospital to support servicemen undergoing treatment and rehabilitation after injuries. He also presented high church awards to military chaplain Anatolii Aksaniuk and volunteer Serhii Melnychuk.
Poltava oblast
During a prisoner exchange on 11 April, another serviceman from Poltava oblast returned to Ukraine. He is Mykola Hrytsai, originally from Zavodske community. In total, five servicemen from Poltava oblast were returned home during the exchange on 11 April. Among them was Dmytro Dvorovyi from Orzhytsia territorial community, who had defended Mariupol.
Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine
Zaporizhzhia oblast
On the evening of 11 April, after the start of the Easter “ceasefire,” russian forces likely killed a Ukrainian evacuation team near Huliaipilske in Zaporizhzhia oblast. The analytical project DeepState released a video showing the moment of the attack on the wounded.
Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration reported that on 11 April, the occupying forces carried out 853 strikes on 40 settlements in Zaporizhzhia oblast. russian troops conducted 18 airstrikes on Nove Pole, Rizdvianivka, Ternivka, Shevchenkivske, Sofiivka, Marianivka, Omelnyk, Obshchi, Kopani, Vozdvyzhivka, Tsvitkove, Charivne, and Rivne. 654 drones of various types (mostly FPV) attacked Zaporizhzhia, Balabyne, Chervonodniprovka, Novoiakovlivka, Novooleksandrivka, Lysohirka, Stepnohirsk, Stepove, Lukianivske, Pavlivka, Huliaipole, Orikhiv, Zaliznychne, Shcherbaky, Novodanylivka, Novoandriivka, Mala Tokmachka, Charivne, Huliaipilske, Staroukrainka, Sviatopetrivka, Tsvitkove, Varvarivka, Olenokostiantynivka, Pryluky, and Dobropillia. Four MLRS strikes hit Ternuvate, Charivne, and Hirke. Additionally, 177 artillery strikes targeted Chervonodniprovka, Novoiakovlivka, Stepnohirsk, Prymorske, Stepove, Lukianivske, Pavlivka, Huliaipole, Orikhiv, Zaliznychne, Shcherbaky, Novodanylivka, Novoandriivka, Mala Tokmachka, Charivne, Huliaipilske, Staroukrainka, Sviatopetrivka, Varvarivka, Olenokostiantynivka, and Dobropillia. There were 25 reports of damage to infrastructure, housing, and vehicles. Three people were injured as a result of enemy attacks in Zaporizhzhia oblast.
According to the General Staff, as of 16:00 on 12 April, nine attacks took place in the areas of Zaliznychne, Staroukrainka, Myrne, Varvarivka, and Huliaipilske towards Huliaipole.
The previous day, 11 April, two women and two men were evacuated from three frontline settlements in Zaporizhzhia oblast. According to the National Police of Zaporizhzhia oblast and the State Emergency Service, police evacuated three people, while rescuers helped an 88-year-old man leave the frontline Preobrazhenka community.
Odesa oblast
A 25-year-old resident of Podilsk region, Odesa oblast, Oleksandr Tomchakovskyi, returned from russian captivity. According to Okny settlement council, Oleksandr is a sailor of the Ukrainian Navy and a serviceman of the 36th Separate Marine Brigade. He spent four years in captivity.
Kherson oblast
Kherson Regional Military Administration reported that on 12 April at around 13:20, a man stepped on a russian mine in the central part of Kherson. The 62-year-old resident stepped on a “petal” mine, and as a result of the detonation, he sustained blast injuries and shrapnel wounds to his torso and limbs.
A passenger of a minibus that was attacked by a russian drone in Korabelnyi district of Kherson the previous day also sought medical help. The 55-year-old woman suffered blast injuries, a concussion, and an acute stress reaction.
According to Kherson Regional Military Administration, over the past day, 11 April, the russian forces attacked Kherson, Beryslav, Tarasa Shevchenka, Zolota Balka, Fedorivka, Urozhaine, Dudchany, Charivne, Tomyna Balka, Mylove, Mykilske, Stanislav, Oleksandrivka, Shyroka Balka, Sofiivka, Antonivka, Burhunka, Vesele, Havrylivka, Dniprovske, Ivanivka, Inzhenerne, Kizomys, Lvove, Mykhailivka, Novooleksandrivka, Novotiahynka, Nezlamne, Odradokamianka, Respublikane, Sadove, Tokarivka, Tiahynka, Khreshchenivka, Pryozerne, Zorivka, Prydniprovske, Ukrainka, and Kozatske. As a result of the attacks, 8 apartment buildings, 16 private houses, a hotel building, business premises, a gas station, a gas pipeline, an outbuilding, civilian vehicles, a minibus, and a trolleybus were damaged. 3 people were killed and 12 were injured, including one child, due to russian aggression.
The head of the regional military administration, Oleksandr Prokudin, reported that on 11 April, as part of a prisoner exchange, eight defenders from Kherson oblast returned to Ukraine. As part of the Easter exchange, 182 Ukrainians were freed from russian captivity: 175 military personnel and 7 civilians.

Oleh Korenha, defender from Holob community, was killed at the front. Although the soldier had recently lived outside the community, Holoby remained his home – it was here that he studied and spent his youth.

The RMA reported that the 33rd Separate Mechanized Brigade SENT cars, drones, generators and traditional holiday gifts.
Ivano-Frankivsk oblast
In Frankivsk, on the eve of Easter, a traditional meeting of a self-help group for internally displaced persons who found a new home in the city took place. Participants shared memories of family traditions, joint celebrations, blessing baskets and visiting the graves of relatives.
Lviv oblast

A new mental health space Poruch has opened at the Day Center for Social and Psychological Assistance in Rivne oblast thanks to the MH4U project.

Servicemen from Ternopil receive a one-time cash grant to purchase necessary equipment. Since the beginning of the year, 1,866 community defenders have already benefited from this assistance.
Khmelnytskyi oblast
On 11 April another exchange of prisoners of war took place. 175 defenders and 7 civilians returned to Ukraine. Among the released were two residents of Khmelnytskyi oblast. These are servicemen from Shepetivsky and Kamianets-Podilskyi regions.
Chernivtsi oblast
The death of Valentyn Hrubliak, Technician-Chief of the Mobile Automotive Maintenance Workshop in one of the military units of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, from the city of Sokyryana, has been confirmed. The senior soldier was dead on 1 February in Kharkiv oblast as a result of a fire. He joined the army in 2022.
International support of Ukraine in the russian-Ukrainian war (russia’s invasion of Ukraine)
Volodymyr Zelenskyy, President of Ukraine, will hold talks with Giorgia Meloni, Prime Minister of Italy. The meeting will take place on 15 April at 3:30 pm at Palazzo Chigi, the official residence of Italian prime ministers.
Sweden has detained a russian bulk carrier. It is suspected of environmental pollution. On behalf of the prosecutor’s office, the Coast Guard inspected the bulk carrier hui yuan. The vessel was heading from russia to Las Palmas in Spain. It is currently anchored near the Swedish city of Ystad.
