Communities in Sumy oblast, including Kucherivka, were hit by enemy artillery and mortar fire.
Towards Northern Sloboda and Kursk, Ukrainian soldiers repelled eight enemy attacks today. In addition, the enemy launched 70 attacks on the positions of Ukrainian troops and settlements, two of them from multiple launch rocket systems.
Towards Southern Sloboda, the enemy launched 11 attacks in the vicinity of Vovchansk, Vovchanski Khutory, Zapadne, Dovhenke, Dvorichansk, Odradne, Bolohivka, and Kolodiazne. One battle is still ongoing.
Towards Kupiansk, the Defense Forces repelled six enemy attacks in the vicinity of Stepova Novoselivka, Pishchane, Petropavlivka, Bohuslavka and Kurylivka. Five combat clashes are still ongoing.
Towards Lyman, the invading army carried out 15 attacks on Ukrainian positions in the vicinity of the settlements of Novyi Mir, Kopanky, Drobysheve, Karpivka, Ridkodub, Derylove, Seredne, Torske and Olhivka. Seven combat clashes are still ongoing.
Towards Slaviansk, russian units tried three times to advance on the positions of Ukrainian troops near Yampol and Hryhorivka.
Towards Kostiantynivka, there were 11 attacks in the vicinity of the settlements of Pleshchiivka, Kleban-Byk, Rusyn Yar, Poltavka and Berestok.
Towards Pokrovsk, russian occupiers launched 34 attacks in the vicinity of the settlements of Shakhove, Volodymyrivka, Sukhetske, Myrnohrad, Lysivka, Pokrovsk, Zvirove, Kotlyne, Novoukrainka, Udachne, Molodetske, Horikhove, Filiia and Novopavlivka. The defense forces are holding back the onslaught and have already repelled 26 attacks, eight combat clashes are still ongoing.
Towards Oleksandrivka, Ukrainian defenders have stopped four assault actions by enemy troops, two more clashes are still ongoing. The enemy is trying to advance in the areas of the settlements of Tolstoi, Sosnivka, Novohryhorivka and Poltavka.
Towards Orikhiv, Ukrainian defenders repelled four attacks by the occupiers in the vicinity of Kamianske, Stepove and Plavni.
Towards Kherson, there were four futile attempts to storm the positions of Ukrainian units.

Kharkiv oblast
Frontline
There were 245 combat clashes in the oblast.
Towards Southern Sloboda, there were 30 combat clashes in the vicinity of Vovchansk, Vovchanski Khutory, Stroivka, Zapadne, Dovhenke, Kamianka, Dvorichanske, Kolodiazne and Bolohivka.
Towards Kupiansk, there were nine attacks by the invaders. The defense forces repelled the enemy’s assault actions in the vicinity of Stepova Novoselivka, Kupiansk, Petropavlivka and Ivanivka.
Shelling
Over 200 thousand consumers were cut off from electricity in Kharkiv on the morning of October 10. Part of the city and residents of several regions were left without electricity due to a massive missile and drone attack by russians. At night, they struck energy facilities in the central regions of the country.
Over the past day, 5 settlements were subjected to enemy strikes. There were no casualties as a result of the shelling.
The enemy actively used various types of weapons in the Kharkiv region:
▪️1 UAV of the Geran type;
▪️2 UAVs of the Molniya type;
▪️2 FPV drones.
Civilian infrastructure facilities were damaged and destroyed:
▪️2 cars were damaged in Kupiansk region (village Kupiansk-Vuzlovyi, village Kolodiazne);
▪️a private house, a summer kitchen, an extension (village Horokhovatka), a private house, and 2 outbuildings (village Shebelynka) were damaged in Izium region.
181 people were evacuated during the day. 54 people remained in the evacuated point. A total of 6,831 people have been registered in total.
During the temporary occupation of the village of Mytrofanivka and the settlement of Dvorichna, Kupiansk region, three soldiers of the “lpr”, according to the investigation, threatened local residents with weapons and seized property from Ukrainian agricultural enterprises. Law enforcement officers reported them in absentia on suspicion of violating the laws and customs of war.
Donetsk oblast
On October 9, there were 1,857 enemy strikes on the front line and residential sector of the oblast. 10 settlements were under fire: Druzhkivka, Kostiantynivka, Kramatorsk, Lyman, Pokrovsk, Sloviansk, Vodyanske, Raihorodok, Ivanopillia, and Novyi Donbas. 59 civilian objects were destroyed, including 46 residential buildings.
russians dropped three GAB-250 bombs on Sloviansk, killing a civilian and injuring six more residents. 8 apartment buildings and 33 private houses, a boiler room, and 5 civilian cars were damaged.
Two people were killed and four were injured in Kostiantynivka as a result of FPV drones and Molniya-2 UAVs hitting them, a private house, a church, and a civilian car were damaged.
A civilian was injured near Novyi Donbas in Dobropillia community due to an FPV drone strike.
In Kramatorsk, a Molniya-2 UAV damaged an educational institution. In Lyman, a private house was damaged. In Raihorodok, a private house and an outbuilding were damaged.
A private house was damaged in Pokrovsk. Vodyanske, Dobropillia community was shelled by russian troops with Smerch MLRS – an apartment building was damaged.
In addition, information was established about a wounded civilian in Kramatorsk, who was injured on October 8 as a result of a hit by two GAB-250 bombs.
Luhansk oblast
As part of the implementation of the All-Ukrainian mental health program “How are you?”, a Mental Health Center was created in Rubizhanska Central City Hospital. The opening of the center was timed to coincide with World Mental Health Day.
What is happening now in the north of Ukraine
Kyiv oblast
According to the RMA, on the night of 10 October, russia attacked the energy infrastructure of Kyiv oblast with missiles and strike drones. As a result, about 28,000 households in the Brovary and Boryspil districts were left without power. Energy workers are already working to restore centralised power supply.
During the night in Brovary, debris from an enemy UAV fell on a two-story mini-market building. This caused a fire and partial destruction of the building. Three multi-story buildings and four grocery stores were also damaged in the city, two cars were destroyed and two damaged. The blast wave damaged the facades and knocked out windows in the high-rise buildings.

Twelve people were injured as a result of a night-time enemy attack on Kyiv. Part of the city was left without electricity.
In the Pecherskyi district, debris from a UAV hit a multi-storey residential building. Apartments on several floors were on fire. The fire has been extinguished.
In the Holosiivskyi district, the facade and windows on the 5th floor of a ten-storey building were damaged. Cars in the courtyard also burned.
In the Desnianskyi and Podilskyi districts, debris from downed missiles fell on open ground.
In Kyiv, due to the enemy attack, some trolleybus and tram routes, as well as part of the ‘green’ metro line, are not operating due to power outages. According to Kyivpastrans, additional buses have been launched and the number of buses on certain routes increased.
According to the Kyiv City State Administration, in the capital 2,939 infrastructure facilities remain without power. 4,474 buildings without water supply. 136 social institutions, in which the heating season has already begun, remain without heat supply. A damaged building on Lesia Ukrainka Boulevard has been disconnected from the gas supply. All districts are setting up resilience centres.

Emergency power cuts are in effect in the Brovarsky and Boryspilsky districts of the oblast. 110,000 subscribers are left without electricity. Work is ongoing to restore power. In some places, mobile communications are experiencing interruptions, but operators are already working to restore stable coverage. Pharmacies, banks, grocery stores, and petrol stations are operating as usual.
According to the Kyiv Regional State Administration, in the settlements of the Boryspil and Brovary districts with a power outage due to enemy attacks, educational institutions have switched to generators. Schools have been turned into resilience centres where people can recharge their devices, warm up, get water, and find shelter.
According to DTEK, energy companies have restored power to 270,000 residents of Kyiv after the shelling. First of all, power was restored to critical infrastructure: transport, water and sewage systems, medical and educational institutions. Afterwards, power was restored to 270,000 residents of the capital.
According to Kyivvodfond, in Kyiv, 80 drinking water complexes have already been connected to generators. Currently, water can be obtained in all neighbourhoods of the city during temporary power outages. A total of 154 drinking water complexes in the capital can be connected to generators.
According to the RMA, Kyiv oblast has provided border guards with the necessary equipment to carry out their duties at the border. The 9th Sich Riflemen Border Guard Detachment received assistance. Drones, rebar, generators, power banks, video surveillance cameras and other equipment were purchased with a targeted subsidy from the regional budget.
Zhytomyr oblast
Representatives of the Norwegian delegation and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) in Ukraine arrived in Zhytomyr on a working visit. During the meeting, Rigmor Koti, representative of the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs for humanitarian issues in Ukraine, and Shamira Abdullah, deputy head of the UNICEF Representative Office in Ukraine, together with their partners, held a meeting with the leadership of the Zhytomyr Regional Military Administration.
According to the Social Services Centre, two weeks ago the Malyn City Social Services Centre added two more specialists to its staff to support veterans and demobilised persons. The specialists do not limit themselves to providing consultations and assistance in the administrative office in the city centre; they visit veterans, assess their needs and help resolve issues on the ground.
The Chernyakhiv village council reported that on 7 October, the village of Velyka Horbash in the Chernyakhiv community welcomed home their fellow villager, 45-year-old soldier Oleksandr Muzhetskyi of the 110th Separate Mechanised Brigade, who was returned from russian captivity on 10 June during the first stage of the exchange of seriously wounded and seriously ill prisoners of war.
Sumy oblast
The General Staff’s in its morning update on 10 October reported that over the past day, ten combat engagements were recorded towards Northern Sloboda and Kursk. Enemy forces carried out ten air strikes, dropped 28 guided aerial bombs, and conducted 140 artillery attacks, including four using multiple launch rocket systems.
Sumy Regional Military Administration informed that the enemy continues targeting civilians in border areas.
- In Yunakivka community, a 56-year-old man was seriously injured by a russian drone strike.
- In Myropillia community, another drone hit a civilian car, wounding a 65-year-old man.
Both victims were hospitalized.
Following a russian attack on the energy infrastructure on the morning of 10 October, Sumyoblenergo introduced emergency electricity outage schedules across the oblast. These measures will be applied when urgent reductions in power consumption are needed.
Ukrzaliznytsia (Ukrainian Railways) has implemented combined logistics — using both trains and buses — in Sumy and Chernihiv oblasts. If trains cannot safely reach their final destinations, passengers are transported by bus transfers. This currently applies to routes serving Shostka, Konotop, Romny, Nosivka, and Nizhyn.
On 9 October, during railway repair works following a russian strike, a 41-year-old worker from Konotop region was injured in a repeated attack. He sustained shrapnel wounds and was hospitalized in stable condition.
Between the morning of 9 October and 10 October 2025, russian troops conducted nearly 50 shelling attacks on 44 settlements across 11 territorial communities in the oblast — primarily in Sumy and Shostka regions. The enemy used guided aerial bombs (15 strikes), grenade drops from drones (about 10 strikes), and FPV-drones.
Consequences of russian attacks as of the morning of 10 October:
- In Mykolaivka community, a 27-year-old man and woman were injured by an FPV drone strike.
- A 41-year-old man from Konotop region was wounded during railway repair work.
- In Bilopillia community, a civilian infrastructure facility was damaged.
Over the past day, 51 civilians were evacuated from border communities by local authorities, emergency services, the National Police, and volunteer organizations.
In Sumy oblast, a memorial bas-relief was unveiled in honour of the fallen defender Ruslan Movchan — sculptor, alumnus, and lecturer at a local educational institution. From the first days of the full-scale invasion, he joined the city’s territorial defence and was killed in action on 1 March 2022 near Nyzy village.
Chernihiv oblast
Oleksandr Kodola, Mayor of Nizhyn, said that in the morning and early afternoon of 10 October, russian troops attacked the outskirts of Nizhyn. According to him, the strike targeted a non-operational industrial facility. No casualties were reported.
Chernihivoblenergo reported that overnight, the enemy hit an energy facility in Nizhyn region. Power engineers are working to restore the site.
Viacheslav Chaus, Head of Chernihiv Regional Military Administration, informed that on the evening of 9 October, a Ukrzaliznytsia (Ukrainian Railways) employee sustained shrapnel wounds while repairing railway infrastructure in Nizhyn region, previously damaged in a russian strike that targeted a locomotive and railway facilities.
According to Chernihiv Border Detachment, during the day on 9 October, russian forces attacked Novhorod-Siverskyi and Semenivka communities. The enemy carried out FPV drone strikes (4 explosions) and mortar shelling (13 explosions).
Meanwhile, in Chernihiv, 25 communities of the oblast signed a memorandum of intent to join the “Association of Frontline Cities and Communities of Ukraine.” The formal accession will take place following votes in local council sessions.
Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine
Dnipropetrovsk oblast
Mykola Lukashuk, Head of the oblast council, reports that at night and in the morning, the enemy carried out a massive combined attack on the region. The defenders of the sky destroyed 60 enemy UAVs.
In Dnipro, there were fires, infrastructure was under attack. The enemy also attacked Kryvyi Rih region. A 66-year-old man was injured. He was provided with the necessary medical care. Kamianske region was also under attack. The occupiers also struck Synelnykove region. They targeted Ukrainianka and Mykolaivske communities. There were fires, agricultural machinery, a private house and an outbuilding were damaged. At night, attacks on Nikopol region continued. The enemy targeted the district center with artillery, and also fired on Marhanets community with MLRSs.
During the day, the occupiers struck Nikopol region more than a dozen times. Nikopol, Pokrovske, Myrove and Marhanets communities were targeted. 12 private houses, garages, 8 outbuildings, cars, greenhouses, a shed, infrastructure and a power line were damaged. According to updated information, five people were injured in the night attack – men aged 66, 36, 45, 53 and 38. In Kryvyi Rih, enterprises, residential buildings, cars, a shopping center and educational institutions were damaged.
Vinnytsia oblast
War veterans from Vinnytsia region, together with their families, went on an interregional tour with the play “Martyn Borulia” based on the play by Ivan Karpenko-Karyi. Five defenders and their family members play in the Bar Moscow Art Theater production. The project was created with the support of the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation.
Kirovohrad oblast
In Svitlovodsk, 50 thousand residents of the city were left without electricity as a result of a nighttime missile and drone attack by russians. Windows were broken in some houses, roofs were damaged.
Poltava oblast
The RMA reports that s a result of falling debris and direct hits, an energy infrastructure facility was damaged, as a result of which 16,578 households and 800 legal consumers in Kremenchuk region were left without electricity. Private houses were also damaged as a result of the attack.
Cherkasy oblast
Igor Taburets, Head of Cherkasy RMA, says that a high-rise building in Kanev was damaged by debris from a downed missile. According to preliminary data, one person was injured. The enemy also aimed at critical infrastructure. The defenders also shot down 8 russian UAVs.
Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine
Zaporizhzhia oblast
On 10 October, starting around 1 am, the russian forces launched a massive attack on Zaporizhzhia. There were several waves of attacks: first, Shahed drones targeted the city for about an hour, and around 4 am, guided bombs and cruise missiles were used. The enemy launched 8 Shahed drones, 5 missiles, and 5 guided bombs on Zaporizhzhia that night. As a result of the nighttime attack, a seven-year-old boy was killed, and four more people were injured. A large amount of residential infrastructure was damaged — 12 apartment buildings and 8 private houses.

Power outages for industrial consumers were implemented in Zaporizhzhia oblast due to the massive russian attack on Ukraine. By order of the Ukrainian energy network operator, six circuits were immediately disconnected. The outages did not affect the general population.
Yesterday, 9 October, the occupiers carried out 720 attacks on 12 settlements in Zaporizhzhia oblast. The enemy fired 5 missiles at Zaporizhzhia. russian forces conducted 6 airstrikes on Zaporizhzhia and Poltavka. 504 drones of various types (mostly FPV) attacked Zaporizhzhia, Matviivka, Chervonodniprovka, Zarichne, Prymorske, Huliaipole, Shcherbaky, Novodanylivka, Mala Tokmachka, and Charivne. Three MLRS attacks hit Stepove, Charivne, and Poltavka. There were 202 artillery strikes on Chervonodniprovka, Prymorske, Huliaipole, Shcherbaky, Novodanylivka, Mala Tokmachka, and Charivne. Fifty-one reports were received of damage to private houses, apartments, vehicles, and infrastructure facilities. Two people were killed and two were injured as a result of enemy attacks on Zaporizhzhia and Vasylivka regions.
As of 4:00 pm on 10 October, Ukrainian defenders repelled four enemy attacks near Kamianske, Stepove, and Plavni towards Orikhiv.
Mykolaiv oblast
At night air defense forces shot down or suppressed four Shahed-type drones and various types of imitation drones over Mykolaiv. Yesterday, the enemy carried out two artillery strikes on Kutsurub community and attacked Ochakiv community five times with FPV drones.
Odesa oblast
As of 7:30 on 10 October, electricity was restored in the city of Chornomorsk after yesterday’s drone attack. Critical infrastructure is operating normally.
Kherson oblast
A utility worker who was injured yesterday during a russian attack in Kherson sought medical care. The 65-year-old man was diagnosed with a blast injury and concussion.
Medical assistance was also needed for a child who was caught in a russian shelling in Korabelnyi district of Kherson the previous day. The 17-year-old girl sustained a blast injury and an acute stress reaction.
A woman sought medical care after being injured in the morning on 8 October, during a russian attack in Kherson. The 66-year-old resident was diagnosed with a blast injury and concussion.
On 9 October, the russian army attacked Kherson, Stanislav, Beryslav, Zolota Balka, Bilozerka, Ukrainka, Kizomys, Novodmytrivka, Inhulets, Novooleksandrivka, Antonivka, Sofiivka, Romashkove, Sadove, Komyshany, Prydniprovske, Veletenske, Burhunka, Vesele, Havrylivka, Dudchany, Lvove, Mylove, Novotiahynka, Osokorivka, Poniativka, Tokarivka, and Tiahynka. As a result of the attacks, 9 private houses, 5 apartment buildings, a bank building, a store, a garage, and private vehicles were damaged. 1 person was killed and 6 others were injured due to russian aggression.
As of 16:00 on 10 October, the russian army made four attemts to storm Ukrainian positions towards Kherson, but did not succeed.
Another group of Ukrainian children was returned from temporarily occupied communities of Kherson oblast. They are boys and girls aged 1 to 17. Among them is an adult young man with the status of an orphan child who had been waiting for several years for the opportunity to leave the occupied territory.
Latest news for today in the western regions of Ukraine
Volyn oblast
Intertrade, a company specializing in the sale of cars from the United States, has completed a large-scale initiative to raise funds for transportation for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. 14 vans, 52 jeeps and 31 pickup trucks will head to the hottest areas of the front.
Zakarpattia oblast
The RMA reported that 23 children from 10 communities of the oblast had the opportunity to become participants in the international pilot project Solidaroad Ukraine 2025 and improve their health on the Adriatic coast.
Ivano-Frankivsk oblast
Ivano-Frankivsk community sent 40 FPV drones to the 109th Separate Mountain Assault Battalion of the 10th Separate Mountain Assault Brigade Edelweiss. Andrii Hrymaliuk, Ivano-Frankivsk City Council deputy, serves in this battalion.
The RMA reported that 18 participants of the Caring for the Hero’s Family project went on a 1-day tour to the spiritual and cultural centers of Maniava and Staruni.
Lviv oblast
The RMA reported that Radoslaw Sikorski, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland, arrived on a working visit to Lviv oblast.
A charity concert was held in the People’s House of Sheptytskyi to support Nazarii Yaremchuk, soldier of the 5th Separate Heavy Mechanized Brigade. UAH 36,697 was raised, which will go towards buying a car for the soldier.
The Foundation for Development and Strategic Changes NGO received assistance from the community of the Norwegian city of Lesja. Thanks to the Martin Vorkinn collection, they purchased 200 Dnipro turnstiles (2nd generation) worth EUR 2,000.
Rivne oblast
By the end of October, 2 more Mental Health Centers will be opened in Rivne oblast. They will be located in Rivne Regional Clinical Hospital and the Ostroh Multidisciplinary Hospital.
Ternopil oblast
Ternopil dentists continue to treat defenders at the front. They provide assistance in Dnipro oblast.
Khmelnytskyi oblast
Khmelnytskyi City Council voted to compensate 50% of the cost of tuition at higher educational institutions for 113 participants in the hostilities. Almost UAH 1m was allocated for this.
Chernivtsi oblast
The RMA reported that Senior Police Lieutenant Ruslan Cherniy was awarded with the Bukovyna Cross of Honor and Dignity.
