What happened in Ukraine today:

Here is operational information of the General Staff as of 4 pm:   

The Defense Forces are taking measures to prevent the enemy from advancing deep into Ukrainian territory.

On 7 January, there were 140 combat clashes on the frontline.

Communities of border settlements have suffered from enemy artillery fire, in particular Kliusy, Khrinivka, Arkhipivka in Chernihiv oblast; Ulanov, Studenok, Bezsalivka, Ryzhivka in Sumy oblast.

Towards Northern Sloboda and Kursk, Ukrainian soldiers repelled three assault actions of the invaders. In addition, the enemy carried out 39 attacks on the positions of Ukrainian troops and settlements, in particular two from multiple launch rocket systems.

Towards Southern Sloboda, the Defense Forces repelled six attacks by enemy troops, and four more clashes are ongoing. The enemy is trying to advance in the vicinity of the settlements of Vovchanski Khutory, Vovchansk, Starytsia, Zelene, Tykhe and towards the settlements of Vilcha and Ternov.

Towards Kupiansk, the enemy tried eight times to advance on the positions of our troops in the vicinity of the settlements of Stepova Novoselivka, Pishchane, Borivska Andriivka and towards Nova Kruhliakivka and Kupiansk. Two clashes are currently underway.

Towards Lyman, the invading army carried out 12 attacks on the positions of Ukrainian units near the settlements of Novoiehorivka, Novovodiane, Derylove, Kolodiazi, Zarichne, Myrne and Shandryholove. Three clashes are ongoing.

Towards Slaviansk, there were no offensive actions of the enemy.

Towards Kramatorsk, the enemy made nine attempts to break through the defenses of Ukrainian defenders in the vicinity of Vasiukivka, Minkivka, Chasiv Yar and towards Bondarne, a battle is currently underway.

Towards Kostiantynivka, the enemy carried out 14 assault operations in the vicinity of the settlements of Kostiantynivka, Oleksandro-Shultyne, Kleban-Byk, Yablunivka, Rusyn Yar and Sofiivka. Two combat clashes are still ongoing.

Towards Pokrovsk, russian invaders made 52 attempts to push Ukrainian defenders from the occupied positions in the vicinity of the settlements of Shakhove, Nykanorivka, Fedorivka, Dorozhne, Rodynske, Myrnohrad, Pokrovsk, Udachne, Molodetske, Novopavlivka and Filia. The defense forces are holding back the onslaught and have already repelled 44 enemy attacks, six combat clashes are still ongoing.

Towards Oleksandrivka, the enemy is trying to break through the defenses of Ukrainian defenders in the vicinity of the settlements of Zelenyi Hai, Oleksandrohrad, Sichneve, Stepove, Vyshneve, Verbove, Krasnohirske, Rybne and Yehorivka. Ukrainian soldiers repelled 19 enemy assaults, five more clashes are ongoing.

Towards Huliaipole, there were 24 clashes in the vicinity of the settlements of Dobropillia, Solodke, Varvarivka, Zelene, Huliaipole and Bilohiria. Five clashes are ongoing.

Towards Orikhiv, the enemy launched three attacks near Stepnohirsk.

Towards Kherson, the enemy twice tried in vain to approach Ukrainian defenders in the vicinity of ​​the Antonivskyi Bridge.

In the remaining directions, there are no special changes.

Veterans with disabilities will be able to receive compensation for the conversion of their own cars. The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has adopted a corresponding resolution. The maximum amount of the payment is up to UAH 70 000. They can be received from January 3, 2026. Compensation will be provided on the basis of actual, documented costs for re-equipment of cars at specialized service stations with a license. To receive compensation, you must apply with an application and documents to the structural units for veteran policy of the Armed Forces, district administrations or executive bodies of city councils. The Ministry of Veterans Affairs of Ukraine also provides free driving training for veterans with disabilities.

Free hearing aids for veterans. Hearing impairment and complete loss can occur after explosions, constant noise, injuries or concussions. This significantly affects communication, concentration and self-confidence. That is why a state program operates in Ukraine to provide veterans with modern hearing aids free of charge.

Recent war events in the east of Ukraine

Kharkiv oblast

In the Southern Slobozhanskyi direction, the Defense Forces repelled six attacks by Russian troops; as of 16:00, four combat engagements are still ongoing. The occupiers are attempting to advance in the areas of Vovchanski Khutory, Vovchansk, Starytsia, Zelene, Tykhe, and toward the settlements of Vilcha and Ternova, the General Staff reported.

In the Kupiansk direction, Russian forces attempted to advance eight times against the positions of Ukrainian troops near Stepova Novoselivka, Pishchane, Borivska Andriivka, and toward Nova Kruhlakivka and Kupiansk. Two combat engagements are currently ongoing.

As of the morning of January 7, the Defense Forces repelled 15 Russian attacks in the areas of Vovchansk, Starytsia, and Prylipky, and seven more toward Pishchane, Petropavlivka, and Kurylivka, according to the General Staff. The occupiers also carried out assaults near Cherneshchyna.

In northern Kharkiv Oblast, six air strikes and 180 shelling attacks were recorded over the past day, the 16th Army Corps reported. The Defense Forces neutralized 53 occupiers, with one taken prisoner. The enemy also lost 140 units of weapons and military equipment.

Over the past day, 221 combat engagements were recorded.

In the Southern Slobozhanskyi direction, Ukrainian troops stopped 15 enemy attacks in the areas of Vovchansk, Starytsia, and Prylipky.

In the Kupiansk direction, seven enemy attacks took place yesterday. Ukrainian defenders repelled enemy assault actions toward Pishchane, Petropavlivka, and Kurylivka.

Over the past day, three settlements in Kharkiv Oblast came under enemy fire. No casualties were reported as a result of the shelling.

The enemy actively used various types of weapons against Kharkiv Oblast:
▪️ one missile (type being determined);
▪️ one Geran-2 UAV;
▪️ two FPV drones.

Civilian infrastructure was damaged or destroyed:
▪️ in Kupiansk District, a private house and power lines were damaged in Novomykolaivka, and a vehicle was damaged in Borivske;
▪️ in Chuhuiv District, a warehouse facility was damaged in Velyka Babka.

During the January 5 attack on Kharkiv, energy infrastructure was damaged. All services are currently working to eliminate the consequences and restore systems. The priority is to ensure stable heat and electricity supply for the city’s residents.

At the site of the Russian strike in Kharkiv on January 2, rescue operations are ongoing and will continue until the rubble is completely cleared and all individuals who may have been there are identified.

Residents of Kharkiv are bringing soft toys and flowers to the site where three-year-old Maksym and his mother Anastasiia were killed during the January 2 explosions. Emergency and rescue operations have been ongoing for six days, with rescuers searching for the bodies of those reported missing.

To restore Kharkiv to its pre-war condition, at least €10.5 billion is required, the City Council reported. According to the mayor, more than 12,500 buildings in the city have been damaged by Russian attacks.

The transit evacuation point in Lozova received 82 people over the past day. In total, 16,229 people have been registered at the point since it began operating.

In 2025, 887 people registered on the “Kupiansk Drone” platform and completed training to assemble FPV drones for the Defense Forces, said Deputy Mayor of Kupiansk Taisiia Nefodova. Within the program, engineers assembled 1,294 FPV drones, which were transferred to military units operating in the Kupiansk direction.

The Kupiansk Medical Center has begun operating in Kharkiv, according to Head of the Kupiansk Military Administration Andrii Besedin. The center provides primary and secondary medical care and is available to both internally displaced persons and Kharkiv residents.

Soloist of the English National Ballet, Katya Khaniukova, performed in a shelter at the Kharkiv Opera and Ballet Theatre, the closest theatre to the front line. She described the very fact that the theatre continues to operate amid constant danger as evidence of the city’s resilience. The dancer emphasized that she wanted to support Ukrainians precisely here, 20–30 kilometers from active hostilities, calling her performance an honor and a gesture of solidarity with Kharkiv, which continues to live and endure despite the war.

Donetsk oblast

Six combat engagements were recorded over the past day on the Kramatorsk sector of the front. The occupiers carried out assaults near Vasiukivka, Chasiv Yar, and toward Bondarne. This is the highest number of attacks in this direction since November 2025, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported.

Near Pokrovsk, 44 combat engagements were recorded over the past day, while in the Lyman and Kostiantynivka directions the Defense Forces repelled 18 attacks each.

The Russian army is accumulating light equipment and infantry in the area of the Serebrianskyi Forest in northern Donetsk Oblast in order to assault Dronivka. The occupiers aim to establish unobstructed logistics near the Siverskyi Donets River and advance toward Lyman and Sloviansk, the 81st Separate Airmobile Brigade reported. Fighters of the brigade, including the “Apache” Unmanned Systems Battalion, are detecting concentrations of Russian troops in the forest and eliminating occupiers, buggies, and motorcycles.

Fighters of the 8th Special Operations Forces Regiment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine conducted a raid on an enemy position in Donetsk Oblast. During the assault, three Russian servicemen were eliminated, while two others were blocked in a dugout and taken prisoner for the exchange fund. The position was completely cleared and control over it was restored.

Units of the National Guard of Ukraine, the State Border Guard Service, and the National Police are systematically using UAVs for reconnaissance, fire adjustment, and precision strikes against Russian equipment and logistics. In 2025, drones hit and destroyed, among other targets: more than 7,200 artillery systems and mortars, 1,955 armored vehicles, 1,010 tanks, 204 multiple launch rocket systems, 922 electronic warfare and radar systems, 1,059 ammunition depots, and over 5,800 aerial targets. The Ministry of Internal Affairs emphasized that the large-scale losses of the enemy confirm the effectiveness of investments in unmanned technologies and stated plans to further enhance operator training and introduce new frontline solutions.

On the night of January 6, Ukrainian drones struck a logistics warehouse and an ammunition depot of Russian occupiers in temporarily occupied Donetsk Oblast, the Special Operations Forces reported. The Defense Forces also hit a warehouse of the 20th Motorized Rifle Division of the Russian army, set up in the temporarily occupied part of Donetsk Oblast, in order to disrupt enemy logistics, according to the General Staff.

The Lyman Military Administration has proposed granting the honorary title “Lyman” to the 63rd Separate Mechanized Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The initiative has been submitted for public discussion until January 13. The 63rd Brigade has been defending Lyman and the surrounding community since March 2023 and during this time has eliminated about 3,000 Russian servicemen and destroyed approximately 400 units of enemy equipment, the administration reported.

Near Lyman, soldiers of the 63rd Separate Mechanized Brigade captured a Russian serviceman originally from Uganda. He said he had traveled to Russia allegedly for work, but was taken to a military facility, forced at gunpoint to sign documents, and sent to the front. The captive stated that he refused to serve, spent some time in trenches, then escaped and reached a Ukrainian checkpoint.

Five people were wounded as a result of Russian shelling of Donetsk Oblast over the past day. Two residents were injured in Kramatorsk and Oleksiievo-Druzhkivka, and one person was wounded in Kostiantynivka, reported the head of the Regional Military Administration, Vadym Filashkin.

On January 6, police recorded 1,448 enemy strikes along the front line and against residential areas. Ten settlements came under fire: the cities of Druzhkivka, Kostiantynivka, Kramatorsk, and Sloviansk; the urban-type settlements of Novodonetske and Oleksiievo-Druzhkivka; Sviatohorivka; and the villages of Pryvillia, Rubtsi, and Spasko-Mykhailivka. Thirteen civilian objects were damaged, including five residential houses.

On the evening of the previous day at 22:32, the Russian army struck critical infrastructure of the Kramatorsk community with a FAB-500 aerial bomb. Two women born in 1953 and 1964 were wounded, and private houses were damaged, reported Oleksandr Honcharenko, head of the Military Administration. More than 200 subscribers in apartment buildings were left without gas, according to Donetsk Oblast Gas Company. Gas workers also will not be able to supply heat to one of the city’s neighborhoods due to damage to boiler house equipment.

One person was injured in Kostiantynivka when a Russian FPV drone attacked a woman. In Oleksiievo-Druzhkivka, two people were injured by an FPV drone strike, and a civilian car was damaged. The Russians dropped two KAB-250 guided bombs on Sloviansk, damaging premises on the territory of an enterprise. In Druzhkivka, two enemy FPV drones damaged a private house and a vehicle. Using Geran-3 drones, the enemy struck Novodonetske, damaging a municipal enterprise, and Spasko-Mykhailivka, damaging a private house, a summer kitchen, a farm, and a non-residential building. In Rubtsi, two private houses were damaged.

Ukrainian writer and war crimes documentarian Victoria Amelina, who died after a Russian missile strike on Kramatorsk in 2023, was posthumously awarded the Moore Prize. Her book “Looking at Women Looking at War” was recognized as the best human rights publication for the period July 2024 – June 2025. The founder of the prize noted that Amelina’s texts are a reminder of courage and truth about lives destroyed by Russia’s war.

A team of Ukrainian Minecraft players is recreating occupied Mariupol, including the Drama Theatre destroyed by a Russian airstrike, the “Milana” mural, and other iconic sites of the city. The gamers are working on an international server, using satellite images and maps to recreate streets and infrastructure as accurately as possible. The virtual Mariupol has become a way to preserve the memory of the city as it was before being destroyed by Russia.

russian occupiers have planned to demolish one of the last historic districts of Mariupol that was not destroyed during the siege of the city this year, reported Petro Andriushchenko, head of the Center for the Study of Occupation.

Luhansk oblast

After unsuccessful assaults, Russian forces continue to strike frontline villages in Luhansk Oblast. Hrekivka, Nadiia, and Novoiehorivka came under fire, with the enemy using tube artillery, mortars, grenade launchers, and FPV drones.

In the temporarily occupied so-called “LNR,” conscripts are being forced to sign contracts and sent to the war despite promises of serving “in the rear.” Reports indicate that new recruits are being killed at the very beginning of their service.

In Rubizhne, most apartment buildings are entering their fourth winter without water, electricity, or heating. Winter temperatures inside apartments barely reach +7°C, leaving residents to survive without basic living conditions.

What is happening now in the north of Ukraine

Kyiv oblast

The head of the Kyiv Regional State Administration, Mykola Kalashnyk, reported that electricity supply in the city of Slavutych had been fully restored after the russian attack on 5 January. Energy workers, rescuers and utility workers worked continuously and cohesively, under difficult conditions, to restore power to households as quickly as possible.

Emergency power cuts were cancelled on the left bank of Kyiv. On the night of 6 December, the Dniprovskyi, Desnianskyi and Darnytskyi districts of Kyiv returned to their power cut schedules. Emergency power cuts had been in place since 27 December, when Rrussia launched a massive attack on Kyiv.

According to Mykola Kalashnyk, in Gostomel, construction of homes for residents of the military town is planned to begin in the spring. Their homes were destroyed in the first days of the full-scale russian invasion. Instead of the five destroyed buildings, which contained 272 apartments, modern seven-storey buildings with 360 apartments will be built.

The Kyiv Regional Centre for Training the Population for National Resistance invites everyone to a free one-day training course on 10 January. The training is conducted by veteran instructors with real combat experience, who provide a solid knowledge base. Anyone aged 18 or older can participate.

Zhytomyr oblast

The Regional State Administration reported that 108 specialists are already working in Zhytomyr oblast to support veterans and mobilised persons, 21 of whom are employed in healthcare institutions. A total of 130 positions for such specialists have been added to the staffing tables of Zhytomyr oblast’s municipal institutions. This is an important step towards making assistance to veterans accessible, systematic and as close to the people as possible. 

Sumy oblast

The State Emergency Service in Sumy oblast reported that russian military forces attacked a settlement in Shostka region by a UAV. A passenger car caught fire near a residential building. Due to the threat of repeated strikes, rescuers were forced to periodically suspend operations.

Over the course of the day, from the morning of 6 January to the morning of 7 January, russian forces carried out nearly 30 shelling attacks on 21 settlements across 11 territorial communities in the oblast. The highest number of attacks was recorded in Sumy and Shostka region. The enemy used artillery, mortars, FPV drones, UAVs and guided aerial bombs. Over the day, the air raid alert in the oblast lasted for 5 hours and 45 minutes.

Civilian infrastructure was damaged or destroyed:

  • In Bezdryk community, a vehicle was damaged;
  • In Velyka Pysarivka community, non-residential premises were damaged;
  • In Buryn community, a civilian infrastructure facility and a private household were damaged;
  • In Shostka community, a private household, non-residential premises and vehicles were damaged;
  • In Seredyno-Buda community, residential buildings and a vehicle were damaged;
  • In Znob-Novhorodske community, a house and a non-residential building were damaged;
  • According to updated data, a house was damaged in Esman community;
  • In Hlukhiv community, residential buildings, a non-residential building and a vehicle were damaged.

Over the course of the day, local authorities, together with units of the State Emergency Service, the National Police and public organisations, evacuated 11 people from border communities.

The Regional Military Administration informed that since the beginning of this year, 37 residents have been evacuated from border communities in Sumy oblast.

According to the Regional Military Administration, Georgia has transferred nine industrial generators of various capacities to Sumy oblast. The equipment was provided by the Government of Georgia to support regions of Ukraine affected by russian aggression. The total value of the assistance exceeds USD 553,000.

Chernihiv oblast

The City Council reported that during the night of 7 January, russian forces attacked Snovsk town. As a result of the strike, private houses and an enterprise were damaged. According to  Viacheslav Chaus, Head of Chernihiv Regional Military Administration, russian forces attacked a food industry enterprise in the town by drones in the evening and overnight. The roof and equipment of one of the workshops, as well as the building façade, were damaged. Firefighters were working at the scene.

Oleksandr Seliverstov, Head of Novhorod-Siverskyi Regional Military Administration, said that on the evening of 6 January, russian forces attacked civilian infrastructure in Semenivka by Heran-2 strike UAVs. According to the Regional Military Administration, russian forces hit one of the local forestry enterprises. A warehouse, a truck and equipment were damaged.

According to the Regional Military Administration, over the course of 6 January, windows and roofs of residential buildings were damaged in two villages of Chernihiv region as a result of the fall of strike drones.

Chernihiv Border Guard Detachment reported that over the course of the day on 6 January, russian forces attacked three border communities in Chernihiv oblast: Novhorod-Siverskyi, Semenivka and Snovsk. The enemy carried out strikes by Shahed-type UAVs (two explosions) and FPV drones (five explosions). Semenivka town and three villages came under enemy fire.

Viacheslav Chaus, Head of the Regional Military Administration, announced that renovation of the rehabilitation department is ongoing at Pryluky hospital with funding from Belgian development agency Enabel.

Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

Dnipro region. Yesterday, fires broke out in Dnipro as a result of a UAV attack. Seven people were injured, including two children — girls aged 8 and 16. Five apartment buildings and one private house were damaged, along with property on the premises of a college, administrative buildings, a gas pipeline, vehicles and infrastructure.

Synelnykove region. The enemy attacked Vasylkivka community by UAVs. A private house caught fire.

Nikopol region. In the evening, the occupiers shelled Nikopol by artillery. According to updated information, another house was damaged in Pokrovske community as a result of yesterday’s attacks.

Air defence forces destroyed 27 enemy UAVs.

Heavy shelling continued overnight and during the day. A woman was killed, and a total of 35 people were injured.

Nikopol region. Throughout the day, the enemy continued attacks on the regional centre and Marhanets, Myrove, Pokrovske and Chervonohryhorivka communities. Fourteen people were injured and received the necessary medical assistance. Educational institutions, an enterprise, eight private houses, six outbuildings, an administrative building, a funeral service facility, solar panels, vehicles, a gas pipeline and a power line were damaged.

Kryvyi Rih region. The occupiers carried out a UAV strike. Eight people were injured. Enterprises and infrastructure were damaged.

Synelnykove region. The enemy army attacked Vasylkivka community by UAVs. A 77-year-old woman was killed. A 56-year-old woman and men aged 43 and 75 were injured. Fires broke out in two homes. Eight private houses and a garage were damaged.

Kamianske region. In Zhovti Vody, an enterprise was damaged as a result of a UAV attack.

According to updated data, 10 people were injured in Dnipro.

Vinnytsia oblast

It became known that five defenders from Vinnytsia oblast were killed: Mykhailo Blokha, Viacheslav Tobola, Oleksandr Pronia, Yevhen Breslavskyi and Volodymyr Savchenko.

Kirovohrad oblast

Kropyvnytskyi Humanitarian Aid Centre “Obiednani Khersonshchynoiu” has begun distributing new clothing to internally displaced persons. Fifteen tonnes of items were received from the US-based Freeway Kyiv Foundation. The centre was opened three years ago and has more than 3,500 people registered.

Poltava oblast

A memorial service was held at the Holy Dormition Cathedral in Poltava for three defenders — Andrii Horbunov, Volodymyr Demydovych and Yurii Kolotushkin.

Andrii Horbunov was killed on 28 December 2025 while carrying out a combat mission in Dnipropetrovsk oblast.
Volodymyr Demydovych was killed on 24 December 2025 while carrying out a combat mission in Donetsk oblast.
Yurii Kolotushkin was killed on 22 December 2025 while carrying out a combat mission near the settlement of Kupiansk-Vuzlovyi in Kharkiv oblast.

Two servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Bublyk and Oleksandr Perchenko, were killed during combat operations in Sumy oblast.

Oleksandr Bublyk was killed on 29 December 2025 as a result of a strike by a russian FPV drone near the settlement of Mar’ine in Sumy oblast.
Oleksandr Perchenko was killed on 20 December 2025 during combat operations near the settlement of Popivka in Sumy oblast.

In Poltava, a tender was announced for the reconstruction of the damaged part of a residential building at 7 Balenska Street, which was affected by a russian missile strike on 1 February. The procurement предусматриє the dismantling of destroyed structures and the installation of new engineering and enclosing elements.

Cherkasy oblast

Ihor Taburets, Head of the Regional Military Administration, reported that as a result of the fall of russian UAVs, buildings of several enterprises were damaged in Uman area.

In Kaniv, three servicemen were posthumously awarded the City Mayor’s distinction. They are Pavlo Shatilov, Rodion Dolhushyn and Stepan Mikaelian.

Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine

Zaporizhzhia oblast

Today, 7 January, russian forces attacked Zaporizhzhia several times. As reported by the head of Zaporizhzhia RMA, Ivan Fedorov, the shelling damaged shops. There were no wounded or killed.

Today, the russian army attacked a vehicle in Zaporizhzhia region. One person was wounded as a result of the strike.

Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration reported that yesterday, 6 January, the occupiers carried out 682 strikes on 24 settlements in Zaporizhzhia oblast. russian forces conducted 8 airstrikes on Yuliivka, Yurkivka, Tavriiske, Zaliznychne, Verkhnia Tersa, Mykilske, and Pryluky. 409 UAVs of various types (mostly FPV) attacked Zaporizhzhia, Chervonodniprovka, Stepnohirsk, Prymorske, Stepove, Shcherbaky, Huliaipole, Novodanylivka, Novoandriivka, Mykilske, Mala Tokmachka, Charivne, Bilohiria, Varvarivka, Zelene, Pryluky, Dobropillia, and Solodke. Four MLRS attacks were carried out on Mahdalynivka, Novodanylivka, Bilohiria, and Dobropillia. 261 artillery strikes hit Stepnohirsk, Prymorske, Stepove, Shcherbaky, Huliaipole, Novodanylivka, Novoandriivka, Mala Tokmachka, Charivne, Bilohiria, Zelene, Varvarivka, Pryluky, Dobropillia, and Solodke. Forty-two reports were received about damage to homes, vehicles, and administrative buildings. Two people were killed and nine others were wounded as a result of enemy attacks on Zaporizhzhia and Polohy regions.

According to the General Staff, as of 16:00 on 7 January, 24 combat engagements took place in the areas of Dobropillia, Solodke, Varvarivka, Zelene, Huliaipole, and Bilohiria towards Huliaipole. Five clashes are ongoing. The enemy carried out three attacks near Stepnohirsk towards Orikhiv. Yesterday, 6 January, the Defense Forces of Ukraine repelled 48 russian attacks towards Huliaipole.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyi reported that on 7 January, the third round of talks with representatives of U.S. President Donald Trump will take place in France. According to him, Ukraine expects discussions on the “most difficult issues,” including the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant and territories.

The press service of the National Police in Zaporizhzhia oblast reported that yesterday, 6 January, police officers from Orikhiv detained a russian serviceman near the combat zone. The man fled his positions and was trying to reach Zaporizhzhia.

The Chief Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense reported that in December 2025, fighters from the “Brotherhood” unit of the HUR’s “Timur Special Unit” carried out a raid behind russian army lines in the temporarily occupied territory of Zaporizhzhia oblast. The soldiers covered more than 25 kilometers along the bottom of Kakhovka Reservoir. During the operation, the fighters eliminated two russian servicemen and captured two others.

Mykolaiv oblast

As reported by Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration, during the night, three Shahed-type UAVs and decoy drones of various types were shot down or suppressed in the region.

Yesterday, the enemy attacked Ochakiv and Halytsynivka communities five times with strike drones (preliminarily Molniya-type UAVs) and also carried out two artillery strikes on Ochakiv community. The roof of an apartment building in the city of Ochakiv and a private house in the village of Lupareve were damaged. There were no casualties.

State Emergency Service in Mykolaiv oblast reported that throughout 2025, SES pyrotechnics units were involved in demining operations 2,445 times and destroyed 3,421 items of ammunition, including 21 aerial bombs.

According to Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration Fortitude mobile clinics continue to support residents of Mykolaiv oblast. In December 2025, the mobile clinic covered three communities in Bashtanka region. The medical team provided more than 5,200 medical consultations and examinations to 1,143 patients, ensuring access to healthcare even in remote villages where services are often unavailable due to a lack of doctors or damaged infrastructure.

Odesa oblast

Today, on 7 January, the enemy carried out a combined missile and drone strike on the port infrastructure of Odesa oblast. As reported by Odesa Regional Military Administration, two people were killed, and eight more were injured. Port infrastructure, an administrative building, cargo vehicles, and containers were damaged.

Kherson oblast

As reported by Kherson RMA, today, 7 January, three people were killed as a result of russian aggression. At around 15:15, russian forces attacked a civilian vehicle with a drone on a highway in Mylove community. The 67-year-old driver sustained fatal injuries. Earlier this morning, due to this enemy shelling of Kherson downtow, a man was fatally wounded. A 73-year-old resident of Kherson died from injuries caused by the explosion of an unknown object he found on the street.

According to Kherson Regional Military Administration, one person was injured as a result of a morning artillery shelling of Korabelnyi district in Kherson. A 46-year-old man sustained a blast injury, concussion, and acute stress reaction. A multi-story residential building was also damaged.

In the evening, russian occupiers shelled a multi-story building in Korabelnyi District of Kherson with artillery. One apartment sustained serious damage, and windows were blown out in neighboring apartments. As a result of the shelling, a fire broke out on the roof of the building.

A woman sought medical help who had been injured yesterday morning due to russian shelling of Dniprovskyi district of Kherson. The 68-year-old woman was diagnosed with a blast injury and concussion.

Yesterday, 6 January, the russian forces attacked Antonivka, Komyshany, Prydniprovske, Sadove, Bilozerka, Veletenke, Dniprovske, Zorivka, Kizomys, Pravdyne, Rozlyv, Tomyna Balka, Stanislav, Sofiivka, Oleksandrivka, Shyroka Balka, Ivanivka, Mykilske, Novotiahynka, Poniativka, Tokarivka, Beryslav, Novooleksandrivka, Havrylivka, Novovorontsovka, Chervonyi Maiak, Dudchany, Tiahynka, Odradokamianka, Vesele, and the city of Kherson. Three multi-story buildings and five private houses were damaged. Dive people were injured due to russian agression.

According to the General Staff, as of 16:00 on 7 January, the enemy twice unsuccessfully attempted to approach the positions of Ukrainian defenders in the area of the Antonivskyi Bridge towards Kherson.

Volyn oblast

88 heat-resistant points will operate in Lutsk community, where everyone can warm up and charge their gadgets. The corresponding decision to open heat-resistant points was made at an extraordinary meeting of the regional commission on technogenic and environmental safety and emergencies under Volyn RMA.

Zakarpattia oblast

Representatives of Uzhhorod City Council met with the leadership of Uzhhorod Zonal Department of the Military Law Enforcement Service. They discussed the current needs of the military, as well as possible areas of further support from the community.

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast

A special vehicle adapted for transporting amputees and disabled soldiers was donated to Ivano-Frankivsk community for use in a hospital thanks to the Ukrainian community in Thuringia and the Hutsuliya ensemble, which organized charity concerts in Germany for this vehicle.

Lviv oblast

A charity volleyball tournament was held in the Murovany community. During the competition, almost UAH 20,000 were raised, which will be used for the needs of defenders.

Hlynyansk community purchased 3 DJI Mavic 3 quadcopters worth UAH 255,000 for soldiers.

Another car from Pustomyty community was sent to the Defenders. The car was purchased with the joint funds of the community residents.

Rivne oblast

The RMA held a meeting with the veteran team Veres Mriia. They discussed prospects for the development of indoor football in Rivne oblast.

Ternopil oblast

In January-September 2025, local enterprises significantly increased the export of goods, which indicates the growth of their presence in foreign markets and the trust of foreign partners. Compared to the same period in 2024, the volume of sales of goods abroad increased by 20.1% and reached $ 688.1m. This allowed the oblast to lead the rating of oblasts of Ukraine in terms of export growth rates.

Khmelnytskyi oblast

The RMA reported that in 2025, material assistance from the budget of Khmelnytskyi community was paid to the families of prisoners of war and missing persons (211 family members for UAH 11m).

Chernivtsi oblast

Volodymyr Zelenskyy, President of Ukraine, awarded soldiers who were killed in battles for Ukraine. The III degree For Courage Order (posthumously) was awarded to senior soldier Andrii Dubitskyi.
