On 6 June, a high intensity of hostilities was observed: the occupation forces launched 64 assaults on the positions of Ukrainian units. At the same time, russian artillery continues dense shelling of the Ukrainian border areas.
In Sumy oblast, the enemy targeted the settlements of Rohizne, Ryzhivka, Korenok, Buniakyne, Bachivsk, Sokhny, Neskuchne, Volkovka, Sopych, and Prohres. There was an airstrike on the settlement of Vorozhba in Sumy oblast.
Towards Northern Sloboda and Kursk, two combat engagements took place. In the same areas, the enemy shelled the defensive lines and nearby settlements thirty times.
Towards Southern Sloboda, the invaders made one attempt to break through the defense lines in the vicinity of the settlement of Vovchansk.
Towards Kupiansk, units of the occupation forces attacked twice with the aim of dislodging Ukrainian forces near Pishchane and Kupiansk. One combat engagement is currently still ongoing.
Towards Lyman, the aggressor also showed offensive activity, where four assault attempts were recorded in the vicinity of the settlements of Novoselivka, Stavky, and Drobysheve. One combat engagement is still underway here.
Towards Sloviansk, Ukrainian units neutralized one enemy attempt to advance in the vicinity of the settlement of Kryva Luka.
Towards Kramatorsk, there was one enemy offensive operation near the settlement of Chasiv Yar, which ended without success.
Towards Kostiantynivka, Ukrainian troops successfully contained twelve enemy attacks aimed at overcoming the defensive lines in the vicinity of Kostiantynivka, Ivanopillia, Rusyn Yar, and Illinivka.
Towards Pokrovsk, there were 21 assault operations with the aim of dislodging Ukrainian units from their positions near Toretske, Vilne, Novyi Donbas, Zapovidne, Novooleksandrivka, Rodynske, Shevchenko, Hryshyne, Serhiivka, Kotlyne, Novopavlivka, and Udachne. Five combat engagements are still ongoing.
Towards Oleksandrivka, the Defense Forces repelled five enemy assaults in the vicinity of the settlements of Tovste, Sichneve, Novoselivka, Vorone, and Verbove. One combat engagement is ongoing at this moment.
Towards Huliaipole, Ukrainian units contained eight enemy attacks near Dobropillia, Vozdvizhivka, Zaliznychne, Olenokostiantynivka, Staroukrainka, Huliaipilske, and Charivne. Another six battles are still underway.
Towards Orikhiv, there were no offensive operations by the russian occupation forces.
Towards Kherson, there were two combat engagements in the vicinity of the Antonivskyi Bridge and Bilohrudyi Island.
In the remaining sectors of the front, no significant changes in the operational-tactical situation occurred, and no attempts by the enemy to advance were detected.
Recent war events in the east of Ukraine
Kharkiv oblast
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that towards Southern Sloboda, russian troops made one attempt to launch an assault in the vicinity of Vovchansk. Towards Kupiansk, the russian army attacked twice near Pishchane and Kupiansk, with one battle still ongoing.
Viacheslav Zadorenko, Head of the Derhachi Military Administration, reported that on the highway between Prudianka and Slatyne, a russian FPV drone attacked a scooter driven by a 51-year-old man who was on his way to get groceries. The driver sustained fatal injuries.

In Vovchansk community, a russian UAV struck a civilian car, the Kharkiv oblast police reported. A 45-year-old woman sustained a mine-blast injury and multiple shrapnel wounds and was hospitalized.

At around 13:10, a russian fiber-optic FPV drone struck Zolochiv, Head of the Zolochiv Suburban Military Administration Viktor Kovalenko reported. A 58-year-old man sustained a foot injury, and three cars were damaged.
Since morning, russian troops have been striking the Zolochiv community with drones and aerial bombs. Odnorobivka and Baranivka came under fire, and four airstrikes were also recorded on the outskirts of Odnorobivka. Private houses and outbuildings were damaged; no casualties were reported.
According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, there were 269 combat engagements in the oblast. Towards Southern Sloboda, russian troops attacked the positions of the Defense Forces seven times near Starytsia and towards Izbytske, Okhrimivka, and Kolodiazne. Towards Kupiansk, Ukrainian defenders halted four attempts by the russian army to advance towards Kupiansk and Podoly.
According to Kharkiv Oblast State Administration, Kharkiv and 19 settlements in the oblast came under enemy strikes over the past day. One person was killed and another six were injured. In Kharkiv, a 52-year-old woman was injured; in Palianychnyky, Bohodukhiv community, a 43-year-old woman was killed, and men aged 24, 47, and 33 were injured; in Bohodukhiv, a 39-year-old man was injured; in Eskhar, Novopokrovka community, a 74-year-old woman was injured. Medics also provided assistance to a 63-year-old woman who had been injured during shelling in Monachynivka, Kindrashivka community on 3 June.
Russian troops attacked Osnovianskyi, Nemyshlianskyi, and Novobavarskyi districts of Kharkiv. Over the course of the day, the russian army deployed four Geran-2 type UAVs, two Lancets, nine Molniya-type UAVs, seven FPV drones, and 43 drones of an unidentified type across Kharkiv oblast.
In Kharkiv, five private houses, an educational institution, and a car were damaged. In Bohodukhiv, Kupiansk, Izium, Kharkiv, and Chuhuiv regions, residential buildings, railway infrastructure, power grids, cars, a gas station, a truck, a garage, a postal vehicle, and other civil infrastructure facilities were damaged.
The russian army has begun attacking the transport link between Kharkiv and Sumy, Advisor to the Minister of Defense Serhiy Beskrestnov reported. According to him, russian troops targeted a section of the highway near Bohodukhiv, which is located approximately 20 km from the border.
The transit evacuation point in Lozova received 245 people over the past day. Since the start of the point’s operation, 38,287 people have been registered there.
On 6 June, police evacuated two families with children from the Shevchenkove community of the Kupiansk district: a 35-year-old woman with her 15-year-old daughter, and a 38-year-old woman with her 16-year-old son and 14-year-old daughter. Law enforcement officers also evacuated two dogs and puppies, which were transferred to a shelter.
Donetsk oblast
On 5 June, the russian army increased the number of assaults towards Lyman and decreased them towards Pokrovsk compared to the previous day, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported. In the vicinity of Lyman, Ukrainian military personnel repelled 29 attacks. Towards Pokrovsk, the Defense Forces halted 31 assaults by the russian army, and 22 attacks were recorded towards Kostiantynivka.
The General Staff reported targets hit in Donetsk oblast on 5 June and overnight into 6 June. In the areas of Voskresenka and Odradne, the Defense Forces struck UAV control points of the russian army, and in the vicinity of Pokrovsk and Rodynske, they launched strikes on concentration areas of russian troops.
Towards Kramatorsk, one of the most difficult tasks for the Ukrainian military is to detect russian occupiers who advance one by one, hide in green spaces, and attempt to bypass Ukrainian positions from the rear, according to the head of the unmanned systems group of a 101st Brigade battalion, callsign “Hybrid.” According to him, despite this, aerial reconnaissance manages to locate the occupiers, and there is currently no enemy advance in this direction.
Ukrainian drones launched a massive strike on the deployment sites of a russian engineering and sapper regiment near Mariupol, Commander of the Unmanned Systems Forces of the AFU Robert Brovdi reported. According to his data, this unit was involved in constructing the “Surovikin Line” towards Kherson and Zaporizhzhia, and also developed new ammunition for the russian army.
In Druzhkivka, russian troops used an FPV drone to attack a man who came to help a woman injured in an MLRS shelling, a spokesperson for the Donetsk Oblast Prosecutor’s Office reported.
In Kramatorsk, a man was killed as a result of a russian FPV drone strike, the city council reported. Russian troops hit near a residential building.
For 5 June, police recorded 1,284 russian attacks along the frontline and the residential sector of Donetsk oblast. Twelve settlements came under fire: Bilozeraske, Dobropillia, Druzhkivka, Kostiantynivka, Kramatorsk, Mykolaivka, Sloviansk, Bilenke, Oleksievo-Druzhkivka, Iverske, Kindrativka, and Maidan. Thirty civilian objects were destroyed or damaged, including 11 residential buildings.
Russian troops dropped four KAB-250 guided bombs on Mykolaivka. Four civilians were killed, and another four sustained injuries. An apartment building and a garage cooperative were damaged.
One person was killed in Dobropillia.
In Oleksievo-Druzhkivka, a person was killed as a result of a drone strike.
Druzhkivka endured 10 attacks—four aerial bombs and six FPV drones. Four civilians were injured. Six apartment buildings, one private house, and two vehicles of a communal enterprise were damaged.
In Kramatorsk, two people were injured and a bank branch was damaged due to russian drone strikes.
In Kostiantynivka, russian troops hit near the highway to Druzhkivka, injuring one person. Another person was injured in Kindrativka.
The russian army struck Maidan with a Molniya-2 UAV. Seven civilians were injured, and a car was damaged.
The russians directed a KAB-500 guided bomb at Sloviansk. An enterprise and seven civilian cars were damaged.
In Bilozeraske, an apartment building and an educational institution were damaged, and a private house was hit in Iverske.
A 74-year-old female resident of Mariupol, who uses a wheelchair and requires constant care, was successfully returned from russian deportation, the Mariupol Military Administration reported. The woman was returned to Ukraine to be with her daughter.
Luhansk oblast
According to Head of the Luhansk Oblast State Administration Oleksiy Kharchenko, towards Lyman over the past day, russian troops launched 20 assaults in the vicinity of five settlements. On the territory of Luhansk oblast, the occupiers deployed a multiple launch rocket system, struck four times with mortars, and twice with automatic grenade launchers. Eight UAVs carried out the combat missions of the russian army.
The occupation authorities of the so-called “lpr” issued a decree restricting passenger transport on the roads of occupied Luhansk oblast starting from 6 June. In particular, the transportation of groups of children is completely prohibited. The movement of suburban trains will also be suspended, and irregular passenger transport will be allowed only in the direction of other occupied territories.
In Luhansk, the emergency warning system has effectively been non-functional since 2014. After seizing the city, the russians failed to ensure the safety of the population—neither back then nor during the full-scale war. Sirens are occasionally turned on only in the central districts, while residents of residential areas have not heard warning signals for a long time, despite regular danger.
What is happening now in the north of Ukraine
Kyiv oblast
Kyiv City State Administration reported that over the course of this week, 16 air raid alerts were sounded in the capital. Their combined duration amounted to almost 9 hours. As a result of a massive enemy attack overnight into 2 June, 7 people were killed and 90 were injured in the capital. Buildings, non-residential premises, 5 medical facilities, and 11 educational institutions in various districts of the city sustained destruction and damage.
The State Emergency Service of Kyiv Oblast reported that in hazardous conditions, amidst mangled structures, concrete, and metal, State Emergency Service specialists are still clearing the rubble following the russian strikes. They are utilizing specialized machinery and rescue tools. The operations are continuing around the clock.

The Oblast State Administration reported that Kyiv oblast has handed over three pickup trucks to the servicemen of the 32nd Separate Mechanized Brigade. The brigade will soon receive three more vehicles purchased with funds from the regional subvention. This transport will enhance the unit’s mobility, help execute assigned tasks more promptly, and increase the capabilities of the military during combat operations.
Voluntary firefighting teams from 22 communities in Kyiv oblast received 42 certificates for modern equipment. The transfer took place within the framework of the Multisectoral Emergency Response Program with the support of the United States Government. The kits include motor pumps, fire hoses, radio stations, flashlights, and other necessary equipment.
The Oblast State Administration reported that in Kyiv, a new season of adaptive fishing events for veterans opened at Kyiv Military Hub. This initiative was launched last year as one of the formats to support male and female veterans during their rehabilitation in medical facilities. Around 100 veterans have already joined the events during this time.
Zhytomyr oblast
Andrii Zabihailo, Head of the Veteran Affairs Department of Zhytomyr City Council, reports that in Zhytomyr, the fourth course of the “Veteran Entrepreneurship Academy” on 3D printing and modeling is currently underway. The training is being attended by male and female veterans, people with disabilities, as well as family members of fallen defenders of Ukraine. They are mastering the full cycle of creating 3D products, from modeling to printing. According to him, the course is aimed at acquiring skills that can be used to start one’s own business.
Sumy oblast
Serhii Beskrestnov “Flash”, Adviser to the Minister of Defence, reported that since the beginning of June 2026, the russian army has begun targeting transport links between Kharkiv and Sumy. According to him, russian forces selected a section of the highway near Bohodukhiv, located approximately 20 kilometres from the border.
The State Emergency Service informed that on 6 June the russian army struck Svesa community with a drone. A fire broke out in an administrative building following the strike and was later extinguished. No casualties were reported.
Oleh Hryhorov, Head of Sumy Regional Military Administration, said that the enemy attacked a bread delivery vehicle with a drone in Bilopollia. The vehicle was transporting products for community residents. No one was injured.
According to Sumy Oblast Prosecutor’s Office, on 6 June, the body of a 77-year-old woman was found on the grounds of a destroyed household in Khutir-Mykhailivskyi community, Shostka region. Her home had been attacked by a russian drone the previous day.
Oleh Hryhorov, Head of Sumy Regional Military Administration, said that russian forces attacked Vorozhba community by drones and guided aerial bombs on the morning of 6 June. A civilian man was killed on the grounds of his household. A vehicle was also hit, while houses, outbuildings, power lines and internet infrastructure were damaged or destroyed.
Artem Semenikhin, Mayor of Konotop, reported power and water supply disruptions in Konotop community as a result of russian attacks. Utility workers have been unable to restore the damaged equipment. Water is currently being supplied according to a schedule.
Sumy Regional Military Administration informed that shortly after midnight on 6 June, an enemy UAV struck a filling station in Trostianets community. A female employee was injured and hospitalised. Her life is not in danger.
Enemy forces attacked a postal vehicle by a drone on a highway in Sumy region near Sad community. The driver was injured and taken to hospital, where he is receiving medical treatment.
According to Sumy Regional Military Administration, enemy attacks on energy infrastructure since the evening of 5 June have caused power supply disruptions in several settlements. Energy workers are working to eliminate the consequences and restore electricity supply.
Sumy Regional Military Administration reported that seven people were injured across Sumy oblast as a result of enemy strikes on 5 June.
Between the morning of 5 June and the morning of 6 June, russian forces carried out nearly 100 attacks on 46 settlements in 23 territorial communities across the oblast. The highest number of attacks was recorded in Sumy, Shostka and Konotop regions. The enemy used mortars, artillery, multiple launch rocket systems, FPV drones, UAVs and guided aerial bombs. Air raid alerts remained in effect in the oblast for a total of 24 hours during the day.
Civilian infrastructure was damaged or destroyed as follows:

▪️ In Krasnopillia community, a private house was destroyed;
▪️ In Buryn community, a private house was damaged;
▪️ In Khutir-Mykhailivskyi community, a private house was damaged;
▪️ In Trostianets community, a non-residential building was damaged;
▪️ In Sad community, a lorry was damaged;
▪️ In Esman community, residential buildings were destroyed;
▪️ In Shostka community, a private house and an outbuilding were destroyed, while another private house was damaged;
▪️ In Bereza community, a private house, non-residential premises and agricultural machinery were damaged;
▪️ In Hlukhiv community, apartment buildings, a private house, a non-residential building, a civilian infrastructure facility and vehicles were damaged;
▪️ In Seredyna-Buda community, private houses and outbuildings were destroyed, while a private house and a civilian infrastructure facility were damaged;
▪️ In Svesa community, civilian infrastructure facilities were damaged.
During the day, local authorities, together with units of the State Emergency Service, National Police and civil society organisations, evacuated 26 people from border communities.
Chernihiv oblast
Ratan Akhmedov, Mayor of Koriukivka, reported that on 6 June russian forces attacked transport infrastructure in Koriukivka. A filling station was destroyed and a woman was injured and hospitalised.
Oleksandr Seliverstov, Head of Novhorod-Siverskyi Regional Military Administration, said that on 6 June, between 1:30am and 3am, russian forces attacked Chaikyne village on the border of Chernihiv oblast at least three times. The consequences of the attacks were recorded on the grounds of private households in the centre of the village.
Chernihiv City Council informed that the number of people injured in a russian UAV attack on an enterprise in Chernihiv has risen to eight. Five of them are currently in Chernihiv City Hospital No. 2. All are men aged between 18 and 65.
According to Chernihivoblenergo, around 80,000 consumers in Nizhyn and Novhorod-Siverskyi region were left without power after a russian attack on an energy facility in a neighbouring oblast on 5 June. Energy workers are working to restore electricity supply.
Viacheslav Chaus, Head of Chernihiv Regional Military Administration, said that eight civilians were injured in strikes on Chernihiv on 5 June. Thirty-eight vehicles were damaged.
In a village of Novobilous community, an enemy UAV strike damaged housing and outbuildings.
In Horodnia community, a filling station was damaged by Herbera drone strikes.
In Snovsk community, Koriukivka region, Heran drones attacked transport infrastructure.
In Novhorod-Siverskyi region, a Molniya UAV struck a village in Semenivka community, damaging a home and an outbuilding. In Semenivka, a car was damaged. In Novhorod-Siverskyi, a filling station employee was injured after a Lancet UAV struck a filling station. In a village of Novhorod-Siverskyi community, an FPV drone struck a postal vehicle, injuring two employees. The vehicle was damaged.
Chernihiv Border Detachment informed that russian forces attacked four border communities in Chernihiv oblast on 5 June: Novhorod-Siverskyi, Semenivka, Horodnia and Snovsk. The enemy used mortars, causing nine explosions, FPV drones, causing 10 explosions, and dropped an explosive device from a UAV, causing one explosion. Ten settlements came under enemy fire.
Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine
Dnipropetrovsk oblast
Mykola Lukashuk, Head of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast Council, said that the enemy struck Zelenodolsk community with drones. One person was killed and three others were injured.
A fire broke out on the grounds of a holiday home. An enterprise, infrastructure facilities and a power transmission line were damaged.
The occupiers attacked the regional centre, Myrove and Pokrovske rural communities by drones. An enterprise, infrastructure facilities and a power transmission line were damaged. A vehicle caught fire in Shakhtarske as a result of the UAV attacks.
In Dubovykivska community, a fire service facility, vehicles and a tractor were damaged.
In Pokrovske rural community, four people were injured: two boys aged 16 and 18, a woman and a man. The occupiers also struck the regional centre, Pokrovske urban community, Marhanets community and Chervonohryhorivka community with drones and artillery. Fires broke out. Three private houses, an apartment building, a shop, four vehicles, a trailer and infrastructure facilities were damaged.
The enemy struck Raiivska and Shakhtarska communities by UAVs. Four vehicles and an enterprise were damaged. russians also attacked the region with UAVs. A private house, an agricultural enterprise, vehicles and tractors were damaged.
In Pishchana community, a woman and a man were injured in a UAV attack, while seven private homes and a power transmission line were damaged. The occupiers also struck Hrushivka and Zelenodolsk communities by drones. A childcare facility was damaged.
Kirovohrad oblast
During a prisoner of war exchange on 5 June, Vadym Petrusevych from Nova Osota village in Oleksandrivka community, Kirovohrad oblast, was returned from russian captivity. The man had spent four years and one and a half months in captivity.
Poltava oblast
Poltava Regional Military Administration reported that the enemy again attacked Poltava region. Some of the targets were shot down. Enemy UAVs were recorded falling in open areas at two locations. The blast wave damaged two vehicles.
Cherkasy oblast
Ihor Taburets, Head of Cherkasy Regional Military Administration, informed that defenders shot down two russian UAVs in Cherkasy oblast.
Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine
Zaporizhzhia oblast
Ivan Fedorov, Head of Zaporizhzhia RMA, reported that 2 women were injured as a result of a russian attack on a cafe in Novotroitske village. The injured women are 70 and 47 years old. They are currently under medical supervision.
A 56-year-old man was killed as a result of a russian attack on Kushuhum. An FPV drone struck a shuttle bus in Kushuhum settlement. The driver was killed.
The russian military once again attacked Zaporizhzhia. A drone exploded near a shopping centre. A 10-year-old boy and his father were injured in the russian attack. The strike hit the roof of a supermarket. As a result of the attack, a fire broke out in an apartment of a building located opposite. 3 people were injured.
7 people were injured in a russian attack on Zaporizhzhia. A drone caused a fire in a parking lot near an apartment building in one of the city’s districts. Five women and 2 children: a 3-year-old girl and a 9-year-old boy, required medical assistance.
The russian forces attacked an industrial infrastructure facility. 3 people were injured.
According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, on 5 June, the Defence Forces of Ukraine repelled 41 russian attacks in Huliaipole and Orikhiv regions. Combat engagements took place near Pryluky, Zlahoda, Rybne, Sviatopetrivka, Zaliznychne, Stepove, as well as in the directions of Dobropillia, Vozdvyzhivka, Hirke, Huliaipilske, Tsvitkove, Verkhnia Tersa, Staroukrainka and Charivne.
The Prosecutor’s Office reported that 2 men aged 25 and 49 were killed as a result of attacks on Zaporizhzhia. The occupiers attacked critical and industrial infrastructure facilities where the injured men were working.
Ivan Fedorov, Head of Zaporizhzhia, stated that 2 people were killed and 5 injured as a result of russian attacks on Zaporizhzhia and Zaporizhzhia oblast. On 5 June, russian forces carried out more than 940 strikes on 55 settlements in Zaporizhzhia oblast. The occupiers most frequently used drones, predominantly FPV drones.
Mykolaiv oblast
Based on the information provided by Mykolaiv RMA, during the day, russian forces attacked Horokhiv community with an FPV drone. 4 people, 2 women and 2 men, were injured. All the injured were hospitalised and are in moderate condition. They are receiving all necessary medical assistance.
The russian military attacked Kutsurub community with FPV drones. A 64-year-old man was killed in the attack. A vehicle was damaged.
On the night of 6 June, the russian military attacked Mykolaiv oblast by Shahed drones. As a result of air defence operations and falling debris in Bashtanka region, a warehouse building was damaged. A fire broke out and was extinguished by rescuers. There were no fatalities or injuries reported. On 5 June, russian forces attacked Ochakiv community 6 times with FPV drones.
Odesa oblast
Referring to Odesa RMA, the russian military attacked Odesa oblast by strike drones. Residential areas and a critical infrastructure facility were damaged. In particular, an apartment building, a private household, the grounds of a medical centre and a hotel building were damaged. There were no casualties or injuries reported. Emergency and municipal services are working at the sites to eliminate the consequences of the attack.
The Air Force of Ukraine reported that during the night, groups of UAVs moved from the Black Sea toward Odesa, Chornomorsk, Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi and Tatarbunary.
This morning, UAVs were moving toward Ovidiopol, Chornomorsk and Lymanka.
According to the RMA, during the prisoner exchange on 5 June, 12 servicemen from Odesa oblast returned from russian captivity. Among them were 4 residents of Odesa oblast, 2 each from Rozdilna and Podilsk regions, as well as residents of Berezivka, Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi, Bolhrad regions and Izmail city.
Kherson oblast
Relying on the information provided by Kherson RMA, at around 11:40am, russians shelled Bilozirka by artillery. A 68-year-old man was injured in the attack and was diagnosed with a blast injury.
A man who was injured in a russian drone attack on Dniprovskyi district of Kherson was taken to hospital in serious condition.
A 70-year-old woman came under attack from a russian UAV near Komyshany. After a drone struck a vehicle, she sustained blast injuries, an open traumatic brain injury and shrapnel wounds to her head, chest, arms and leg.
A 56-year-old man was injured in a russian drone attack on Korabelnyi district of the city at around 8:50am. He sustained a blast injury.
At around 7:40am, russians attacked a vehicle in the central part of Kherson by a drone. A 56-year-old woman sustained blast injuries and a concussion. A 56-year-old man was also injured and diagnosed with blast injuries, a concussion and shrapnel wounds to his arms.
At approximately 7:10am, russians attacked Tsentralnyi district of Kherson by a UAV. A 66-year-old woman sustained blast injuries, a closed traumatic brain injury and a concussion as a result of the drone strike.
Medical assistance was required for a 19-year-old man who came under a russian drone strike in Kherson yesterday afternoon. He sustained blast injuries and a concussion and will receive outpatient treatment.

A Swedish court has allowed the transfer of the cargo ship Caffa, suspected of illegally transporting grain from the territories temporarily occupied by russia, to Ukraine.
