It has been the 1106 th day of the Ukrainian resistance to the russian military aggression. 

 

What happened in Ukraine today:

Here is operational information of the General Staff as of 6 pm:   

In total, there were 59 combat engagements.

The areas of Khrinivka and Yasna Poliana in Chernihiv oblast and Tymofiivka in Kharkiv oblast were hit by enemy artillery shelling from the territory of russia.

The battle continues towards Kharkiv, where russian invaders are trying to break through the defensive lines of Ukrainian troops towards Vovchansk. The situation is under the control of the Defence Forces, our defenders are giving a worthy rebuff to the Russian invaders.

Towards Kupiansk, the enemy attacked the positions of our units once near Holubivka, but our defenders successfully stopped the enemy’s attempts to advance.

Towards Lyman, the invading army launched five attacks on Ukrainian positions near Novomykhailivka and Novoye. Four firefights are currently ongoing.

Towards Kramatorsk, our defenders repelled four enemy attacks in the areas of Chasiv Yar, Oleksandr-Shultyne and Predtechyne, and one firefight is still ongoing.

Towards Toretsk, russians tried to force our units out of their positions in the areas of Toretsk, Dachne and Dyliivka, where the Ukrainian Defence Forces repelled nine attacks by russian units, and three more firefights are still ongoing.

Towards Pokrovsk, the enemy has made 11 attempts to push our defenders from their positions in the areas of Yelyzavetivka, Promin, Pishchane, Kotlyne, Bohdanivka, Kotliarivka and Andriivka. The defence forces are holding back the attack and repelled all enemy attacks. The occupants launched air strikes with guided bombs near Zelene Pole, Pokrovsk, Chunyshyne and Oleksiivka. The enemy’s losses are being clarified.

Towards Novopavlivka, Ukrainian troops repelled two attacks by the occupation army in the area of Kostiantynopil and Burlatske. The enemy conducted air strikes in the vicinity of Odradne and Vesele.

Towards Huliaipole, the enemy launched air strikes on the settlements of Huliaipole, Shevchenko, Zaliznychne and Novopil.

Towards Orikhiv, our defenders successfully repelled an enemy attack in the direction of Kamianske.

Towards Kursk oblast, Ukrainian defenders repelled eight enemy attacks, and four more combat engagements are ongoing. In addition, the enemy fired 226 artillery shells at our troops’ positions and settlements, including six from multiple launch rocket systems, and launched seven air strikes, dropping 14 guided bombs.

The enemy did not conduct any active operations towards Siversk and Kherson.

Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal said that the Government is allocating over UAH 1.5bn to keep the Chornobyl NPP shelter safe. The funding has increased by UAH 139m compared to 2024.

He added the state compensated Ukrainians UAH 18bn under the yeVidnovlennia programme. As part of the programme, 90,000 families have restored or purchased housing. In particular, a separate property compensation programme was launched for IDPs. The government has allocated UAH 15bn for this programme. As a result, 10,000 families will receive resources to purchase real estate. The government is currently working on new sources of funding for housing reconstruction.

Recent war events in the east of Ukraine

Kharkiv oblast


According to the RMA, towards Kharkiv, two firefights took place in the vicinity of Vovchansk yesterday.

Yesterday there were 3 attacks. Defence forces repelled enemy assaults in the areas of Petropavlivka, Pishchane and Bohuslavka.

Attacks

At 1:10pm, russians fired at the industrial zone of Osnovyanskiy district. The hit came at a motor depot that was not working.The explosion damaged a truck and a car. The facade and windows of the warehouse were also damaged. There were no casualties. According to preliminary data, russia used a Molniya drone.

The press service of Kharkiv region’s State Emergency Service reported that around noon, russian troops shelled Buhaivka in Vovchansk community, setting a house and an outbuilding on fire. The fire spread over an area of 80 sq m. There were no casualties.

At 1:04am, russians attacked Donets village. As a result of the air defence forces’ fire on the Shahed UAV, debris fell, and grass burned on an area of 1 hectare in the open.

 At 12:21am, russians attacked between the settlements of Zmiiv and Butivka village. The wreckage of a Shahed UAV fell into the forest. There was no information about casualties or damage.

Yesterday at 11:11pm, russians attacked Kharkiv. A Shahed UAV hit damaged the glazing of warehouse windows, power lines and 3 cars. The windows of one bus, two trolleybuses, and the windows of buildings were damaged at the trolleybus depot.

At 3:30pm, russians attacked Kozacha Lopan village. An unexploded ordnance hit a private household, injuring a 41-year-old man.

At 10:15am. russians attacked Kupiansk. The shelling damaged window glazing, the roof of a private house and two cars.

At 8:21am, russians attacked between the settlements of Pidvysoke and Myrne village, there was a shelling.

Viktor Tereshchenko, Head of Kharkiv Gas Supply Company, reported that 500 consumers in half of the settlements of Velykyi Burluk community have been without gas supply since 3 March as russian shelling damaged the gas pipeline to Velykyi Burluk. Most of them are residents of private houses.

Donetsk oblast

Frontline

The russian army is attacking in the direction of Lyman. Over the last day, the occupiers attempted to advance 14 times near Novomykhailivka, Hrekivka, Novove, Novoliubivka, Yampolivka and Dibrova.

Ukrainian troops repelled most of the attacks in the Pokrovske section of the frontline. Russian troops attacked 21 times in the areas of Promin, Lysivka, Serhiivka, Ulaklivka, Andriivka and Oleksiivka.

An officer of the 110th Separate Mechanised Brigade, call sign “Suietoloh”, reported that russian troops are attacking near Burlatske and Skudne on the Novopavlivka front to try to reach the administrative border of Donetsk oblast.

The Khortytsia military command reported that Ukrainian troops destroyed a russian Nona self-propelled artillery system towards Kramatorsk. Along with the system, the personnel of the vehicle were also eliminated.

Attacks

Petro Tokar, head of the region’s police, said that since the beginning of 2025, 28 civilians have been killed in Kharkiv region as a result of russian shelling. According to him, in February, the russians mostly attacked Kharkiv with Geranium-2 UAVs, and in January – with Molniya.

Vadym Liakh, Head of the CMA, reported that in the morning, russian troops shelled the Slovkurort neighbourhood in Sloviansk. The city was hit by an attack drone.

Yesterday russian troops fired 3,298 rounds along the front line and in the residential sector.

The enemy fired at 8 settlements: Kostiantynivka, Lyman, Pokrovsk, Sloviansk, Toretsk, and the villages of Hryshyne, Katerynivka, and Nova Poltavka. Fifty-seven civilian objects were destroyed, including 45 residential buildings.

Russians shelled Pokrovsk three times, including with a FAB-250 bomb, killing a civilian and damaging an apartment block and three private houses.

A civilian was injured in Nova Poltavka as a result of shelling.

The occupiers hit Kostiantynivka with a FAB-250 bomb and artillery, damaging 26 private houses, a garage, 4 power lines and a gas pipeline.

Russia shelled the Lyman with Smerch MLRS, damaging 7 private houses, 2 outbuildings, a power line and a gas pipeline.

In Sloviansk, an enemy drone hit the residential sector, damaging 7 private houses and a business.

One private house was destroyed in Ivanopillia and one in Hryshine.

Other

The RMA said that there are still 288,000 people in Donetsk oblast, of whom 31,000 live in the area of active hostilities. Another 23 children are subject to forced evacuation.

Vadym Filashkin, Head of Donetsk Regional Military Administration, reported that more than 3,000 people remain in the frontline town of Pokrovsk in Donetsk oblast. Over the previous week, about 500 more people left the city.

Donetskoblhaz said that gas supply has been restored in the villages of Zelenyi Hai and Andriivka-Klevtsove after russian shelling. Gas was returned to 170 customers.

The Prosecutor General’s Office said that two russian army servicemen are suspected of raping a woman during the temporary occupation of a village in Donetsk oblast in June 2022. According to the investigation, the occupiers forced the woman to enter an empty house and, despite her resistance, injected her with an unknown substance.

According to Mariupol City Council, in the temporarily occupied Mariupol, the foundation has been prepared and the first sections of a monument dedicated to the Russian military who destroyed the city in 2022 are being erected. The work is expected to be completed by 9 May.

Luhansk oblast

Frontline

The invaders stormed Ukrainian positions towards Lyman near Hrekivka, Novoliubivka and Dibrova. At the same time, the enemy is conducting reconnaissance towards Siversk, continuing shelling and actively using drones. The invaders opened fire from artillery 18 times. A total of 216 UAVs attempted to strike the surrounding villages and fortifications of Ukrainian defenders.

The enemy is trying to advance in small groups. Heavy fighting is taking place in the area of Bilohorivka. The settlement is completely destroyed. In some parts of the frontline, the enemy has not taken away the bodies of the dead russian soldiers for months.

The occupiers are complicating the humanitarian situation in the so-called “lpr” in every possible way, as if conducting all possible experiments on the local population.

TOT

There is an acute shortage of staff at coal mining enterprises in Dovzhansk. Despite the closure of a number of facilities and staff reductions, miners refuse to go to other mines. It is not just the constant delays in salary payments that scare them. During the forced mobilisation, there were cases when the russian military took people away right after their shifts. The management of the local mine, Chervonyi Partyzan, decided to bring miners from other cities in the so-called “lpr”, where the situation with work and money is even worse.

In Siverskodonetsk, local residents continue to complain about the poor quality of the demonstration repairs of apartment buildings. Last year, many people were delighted to see a few brightly coloured facades along the main streets. However, most of these five- and nine-storey buildings had not even had their utilities and roofs repaired. Over the 2.5 years of occupation, the high humidity in the buildings has led to almost irreparable damage.

Other

Luhansk Regional Academic Ukrainian Music and Drama Theatre presented 64 performances, including four premieres. It took part in four international and national theatre festivals.

The Academic Symphony Orchestra of Luhansk Regional Philharmonic performed 54 concert programmes on classical, folklore and contemporary music, including original compositions.

Luhansk Regional Museum of Local Lore implemented a training project for museum workers in Luhansk oblast.

What is happening now in the north of Ukraine

Kyiv oblast

The RMA reported that in Kyiv oblast, in Boryspil region, as a result of an enemy attack, the windows of 85 apartments in 2 apartment buildings, 20 cars, 2 minibuses, a shop, a private house, 2 warehouses, 2 hangars, and the windows of a kindergarten and a school were damaged. There was also a fire at one of the enterprises. The enemy attacked Kyiv oblast with a UAV. The alarm was raised three times at night.

On 5 March, Kyiv paid last respects to soldier Vasyl Ratushnyi, who was killed by a russian FPV drone on 27 February. Vasyl was the elder brother of Roman Ratushnyi, a Kyiv activist and soldier of the Armed Forces of Ukraine who was killed in 2022. After the funeral service at St Michael’s Cathedral, all of the people present marched in a procession of remembrance to Maidan Nezalezhnosti, where the farewell ceremony continued. About a thousand people came to pay tribute to the soldier, including his family, friends and colleagues.

The RMA informed that in 2024, Kyiv oblast allocated more than UAH 2bn to support the Ukrainian military. These funds were used to purchase drones, vehicles and spare parts, power and communication equipment, electronic warfare systems, and special-purpose equipment. Over the last two months, the amount of funding from local budgets totalled UAH 347m.

Anatoliш Fedoruk, Mayor of Bucha, announced that major repairs are underway at Havrylivka’s Veselka kindergarten №10, which was hit three times during the occupation. The repair work covers more than 300 m². The work is being carried out with the support of UNICEF.

Vadym Tokar, the village head, informed that Makariv Culture and Leisure Centre has completed the renovation of two spaces. The repairs were carried out with the support of the UN Refugee Agency and philanthropists. In addition to the concert hall, music and sports schools, dance and vocal studios, and sports sections, there is a veterans’ space “Amongst Our Own”.

Zhytomyr oblast

In Zhytomyr oblast, experts of the police explosive service found several unexploded warheads of russian drones and cassette elements in a field. The explosive items were found during an inspection of the site where missile and drone debris fell after recent russian shelling. The findings included an undetonated warhead of a Geranium-2 UAV. All dangerous items were neutralised.

Zhytomyr police officers held a therapeutic meeting for colleagues who had returned from combat missions. They invited the defenders to go on an ATV ride to restore their mental health and “reboot”.

Sumy oblast

Sumy Regional Prosecutor’s Office reported that around 6:50am on 5 March, the russian army attacked Chernetchyna village in Okhtyrka region by a drone. As a result of the shelling, an 83-year-old woman was injured. The drone struck just a few meters from a local resident’s house, injuring his mother.

The Regional Military Administration informed that the enemy struck Krasnopillia community by an FPV-drone, damaging a private household.

On the morning of 5 February Liudmyla Biriukova, Head of Velyka Pysarivka community, said that russian army scattered explosives from a drone over Velyka Pysarivka. Residents are being urged to exercise caution near the local dairy plant. In February, russian forces scattered explosives over Velyka Pysarivka at least four times

Throughout the night and morning, russian forces carried out eight shelling attacks on border areas and settlements in Sumy oblast. A total of 38 explosions were recorded. The communities affected were Khotin, Yunakivka, Krasnopillia, Chernetchyna, and Hlukhiv.

On 5 March, Ukrainian air defense forces shot down eight enemy “Shahed” drones over Sumy oblast. Since the beginning of the year, the region’s air defense units have destroyed a total of 592 russian UAVs. 

According to the RMA, throughout the past day, russian forces carried out 70 shelling attacks on Sumy oblast, resulting in a total of 145 strikes. The enemy used mortars (29 explosions), artillery (45 explosions), grenade launchers (7 explosions), UAVs (2 explosions), FPV-drones (31 explosions), GABs (6 explosions), and dropped VOG grenades from UAVs (17 explosions). 

On 4 March, russian forces shelled  Khotin, Yunakivka, Myropillia, Krasnopillia, Bilopillia, Velyka Pysarivka, and Shalyhyne communities. As a result of the shelling, a private residential house in Krasnopillia community was damaged, and two private households in Myropillia community were also affected.

Police officer Yurii Hamota from Khotin community evacuated a wounded 40-year-old man after a russian airstrike. According to Sumy Police, the man was injured by a russian guided aviation bomb.

Chernihiv oblast

Chernihiv Border Detachment reported that on 4 March, russian forces attacked three border communities in Chernihiv oblast: Semenivka, Snovsk, and Horodnia. The enemy used mortars (7 explosions), artillery (4 explosions), FPV-drones (9 explosions), and dropped explosives from UAVs (6 explosions). Explosions were reported towards eight villages.

Chernihiv Region Police informed that police explosive ordnance technicians neutralized the warhead of a russian drone that was recently shot down by Defense Forces in Koriukivka region. The downed enemy UAV was found in a forest.

Recently, a two-day national seminar titled “Reconstruction: Creating New Educational Spaces in Vocational Education Institutions” took place in Chernihiv. The event was organized by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and the Finnish international non-governmental organization, Finn Church Aid.

Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

It was loud in Pavlohrad at night. The enemy attacked the city with two rockets. There were damages to enterprises and two high-rise buildings. Also, late in the evening, the occupiers attacked Nikopol region. They shelled Pokrovsk community with artillery. 

The Air Armed forces were working. During the night, 12 enemy UAVs were destroyed over the oblast. 

Almost fifteen attacks in Nikopol region. The occupiers shelled the region centre and the Marhanets community with artillery and drones. An apartment building, 2 cars, a power line and infrastructure were damaged. There were no casualties. According to updated information, more than 30 multi-storey buildings, infrastructure and 2 educational institutions were damaged in Pavlohrad.

Vinnytsia oblast

Serhiy Morgunov, Mayor of Vinnytsia, reported that ​in 2024, more than 1,100 servicemen and women received the necessary treatment from the mobile dental clinic. The mobile dental clinic was created on the basis of the Medical Dental Centre. The vehicle is equipped with everything necessary for remote work. The team’s specialists provide high-quality dental services both in Vinnytsia oblast and travel to other cities to serve defenders. 

Kirovohrad oblast

Kirovograd oblast lost three defenders in the war. One of them was Mykola Lukashuk, who sustained burn and shrapnel injuries during one of the battles. He died on 19 February 2025. Andrii Perminov had been missing since 22 March 2023 near Bohdanivka village of Bakhmut region, Donetsk oblast. His death was confirmed by DNA testing. Roman Vichev died on 24 February 2025, while performing a combat mission near Nikolske  village in Donetsk oblast.

Poltava oblast

The russian army attacked Poltava oblast. The fragments of the downed target damaged the glazing of residential buildings on the territory of 5 households and the local cemetery.

A soldier from the Chutivska community was killed in the war with russia. It was a senior soldier Maksym Mykych. The soldier died from his injuries. He was 26 years old.

An evacuated family from Donetsk oblast arrived in the village of Nova Haleshchyna in Kremenchuk region. People were forced to leave their homes due to active hostilities and the destruction of critical infrastructure.

Cherkasy oblast

Ihor Taburets, Head of Cherkasy RMA, reported that the Air Armed forces destroyed five attack UAVs in Cherkasy oblast. There were no injuries or damage to infrastructure. 

In Cherkasy oblast, the funeral of fallen serviceman Viktor Lyakhovetskyi was held. He died on 1 March in a battle in the Donetsk oblast.

SerhiI Poltavets died on 28 April 2022 while performing a combat mission in Popasna, Luhansk oblast.

In Talne, a soldier Ruslan Krutenko said goodbye. He died on 1 March 2025 due to illness.

Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine

Zaporizhzhia oblast

Yesterday, the occupiers launched 441 attacks on 11 settlements in Zaporizhzhia oblast. russian forces carried out 11 airstrikes on Stepnohirsk, Piatykhatky, Stepove, Huliaipole, and Charivne. 267 UAVs of various modifications attacked Prymorske, Kamianske, Huliaipole, Shcherbaky, Novodanylivka, Mala Tokmachka, Charivne, and Novodarivka. 6 MLRS attacks targeted Kamianske, Shcherbaky, and Mala Tokmachka. There were 157 artillery strikes on Kamianske, Huliaipole, Shcherbaky, Novodanylivka, Mala Tokmachka, Charivne, and Novodarivka. 15 reports were received regarding damage to apartments, private houses, and garages.

According to the General Staff’s daily report on 5 March, as of 4pm, the enemy carried out airstrikes on Huliaipole, Shevchenko, Zaliznychne, and Novopil towards Huliaipole. Ukrainian defenders successfully repelled an enemy attack on Kamianske towards Orikhiv. On 4 March, AFU repelled nine russian attacks towards Orikhiv and two more towards Huliaipole.

Mykolaiv oblast

On the night of 5 March, air defense forces destroyed two Shahed 131/136 drones in Mykolaiv oblast.

Yesterday, on 4 March, the enemy attacked Kutsurub community 6 times with FPV drones.  A house was damaged in the village of Dniprovske due to the attacks. There were no casualties.

On 5 March, on the Day of the Liberation of Voznesensk community, residents honored the memory of the fallen and laid flowers at the memorial sign. Three years ago, on this day, Ukrainian forces successfully repelled a russian assault on the city. The families of the fallen, military personnel and local government representatives gathered to pay tribute. A moment of silence was observed in memory of the heroes, and flowers were laid at the memorial.

Odesa oblast

On the night of 5 March, russia launched another massive attack on Odesa oblast. As a result, critical infrastructure in Odesa was damaged, leaving part of the city without electricity, water, and heating. The State Emergency Service reported destruction at a Nova Poshta branch and private residential buildings. Drone debris damaged or destroyed at least 20 private houses, utility buildings, business center, postal office, medical laboratory, commercial facilities, and civilian vehicles. A man was killed in the suburbs, in the russian drone attack, and another person sustained moderate injuries.

During the air raid alert, the enemy also attacked Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi region with ballistic missiles. A missile struck an empty sanatorium, almost destroying the building.

Overnight, Ukrainian air defense forces in southern Ukraine shot down 32 attack drones, 30 of them over Odesa oblast.

As of 6am on 5 March, four enemy ships were in the Mediterranean Sea, including three carriers of Kalibr cruise missiles with a total salvo capacity of up to 26 missiles.

Over the past day, one vessel passed through the Kerch Strait into the Black Sea in russia’s interest.

Kherson oblast

On 5 March, at approximately 2:30pm, russian occupiers struck Antonivka with a UAV, killing a resident.

Tonight, the enemy shelled Korabelnyi district of Kherson city, resulting in the death of a 55-year-old man.

At around 1:30pm, russian forces attacked Dniprovskyi district of Kherson city with a drone. A 70-year-old woman sustained a blast injury, a concussion, and shrapnel wounds to the head.

In the morning, russian occupiers launched another attack on Dniprovskyi district, injuring a 64-year-old woman. She suffered a blast injury and shrapnel wounds to her back and leg.

Two Kherson residents sought medical assistance after being injured in previous russian attacks. A 22-year-old man suffered a mine-blast injury and concussion due to shelling in Dniprovskyi district on 4 March. A 39-year-old woman, injured in the attack on 24 February, was diagnosed with a blast injury, traumatic brain injury, and a concussion.

It is reported that russian attacks left one person dead and six wounded, including two police officers. Over the past 24 hours, the russian army shelled the right-bank part of the region using artillery, aviation, and UAVs. Kherson, Prydniprovske, Antonivka, Sadove, Inzhenerne, Bilozerka, Molodizhne, Stanislav, Zelenivka, Sofiivka, Nadezhdivka, and Beryslav were under enemy fire. The attacks damaged 15 sites, including two apartment buildings, seven private homes, a local administration building, a church, three vehicles, and a store.

Police evacuated a sick man from shelling-hit Kachkarivka. The 54-year-old man, suspected of having a stomach ulcer, was transported to a designated location and handed over to emergency medical personnel.

It is reported that the enemy attempted one attack but failed. Over the past day, russian losses amounted to 140 personnel, along with 2 artillery systems, 19 vehicles and armored units, 3 motorcycles, 3 boats, 1 Zala reconnaissance UAV, 2 Grozа electronic warfare stations, 1 Statlink satellite terminal and 3 antennas, 3 communication antennas and 9 UAV control antennas Additionally, Ukrainian forces destroyed or damaged 51 bunkers/dugouts, 5 observation posts, 1 enemy firing position, 4 ammunition storage sites, 1 fuel and lubricants depot

Latest news for today in the western regions of Ukraine

Volyn oblast

The RMA held a meeting with representatives of the Swedish Aid Center CF. They discussed further cooperation in the humanitarian sphere, support for internally displaced persons, children and social institutions in the oblast.

Zakarpattia oblast

Uzhhorod City Council held a meeting with representatives of the UNHCR Field Office (Lviv). They discussed support for IDPs and integration programs.

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast

The RMA held an online meeting with representatives of the American city of Prairie Village, which is a sister city of Dolyna. They discussed the situation in the oblast and agreed on further steps to support the community and the Carpathian region.

As part of a working visit to Poland, representatives of the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Ivano-Frankivsk oblast met with the voivodeship commandant of the State Fire Service in Krakow, Brigadier Przemysław Psienczyk. Ukrainian and Polish rescuers discussed further cooperation.

Lviv oblast

Petro Shvaika, soldier of the 68th Separate Oleksa Dovbush Jaeger Brigade from Zolochiv region, was posthumously awarded the Golden Cross Order by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He was killed while performing a combat mission near the village of Novoyehorivka, Luhansk oblast.

Rivne oblast

As part of the 10th European Congress of Local Government, which is underway in Poland, a meeting was held between Oleksandr Kokhan, Deputy Chairman of the Rivne Local Government Association, and Marcin Kuchczynski, Marshal of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship. They discussed deepening cooperation in vocational education.

Ternopil oblast

Svitlana Baitaliuk, Director of the Department of Culture and Tourism of Ternopil RMA, and Lydia Tkachuk, President of the Ukrainian National Museum of the Ukrainian National Museum in Chicago, held a working online meeting. They discussed joint projects, including the International Embroidered Towel Association Flower of Embroidery. This project aims to unite Ukrainians around the world through the traditional art of embroidery.

Khmelnytskyi oblast

Khmelnytskyi oblast is actively participating in the initiative of the President of Ukraine to create a strategic reserve of weapons for combat units on the front line. As part of this project, the oblast is allocating UAH 50m for the purchase of drones and other necessary equipment.

Khmelnytskyi community has made changes to the Volunteering Support Program. For 2025, UAH 3,75m are allocated for this program.

Chernivtsi oblast

Khotyn City Council has signed a cooperation agreement with the Municipality of Eslev, Sweden. This partnership opens up new opportunities for community development in various areas, including education, economy, ecology, tourism and utilities.

International support of Ukraine in the russian-Ukrainian war (russia’s invasion of Ukraine)

Ireland will provide €100m in military support to Ukraine. Around €20m will be provided to the demining and IT coalition, and a further €80m to the EU procurement fund to purchase radar and drone jamming devices, among other assistance. Ireland maintains political neutrality and provides support in the form of non-lethal assistance.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Ukrainian President, had a phone conversation with Olaf Scholz, German Chancellor. They discussed support for Ukraine.

Vladyslav Vlasiuk, Presidential Advisor and Plenipotentiary for Sanctions Policy, met with Mustafa Levent Bilgen, Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Ukraine. They discussed the importance of sanctions pressure on russia for achieving peace and the issue of bilateral cooperation.
