The number of combat engagements along the entire frontline increased to 80. Most of the fighting were towards Pokrovsk at this time of day. At the same time, during the day, the invaders kept trying to push our defences towards Kupiansk and Kurakhove.
Kharkiv oblast remains under terrorist attacks by enemy aircraft. From the territory of the russian federation, namely from the Shebekino area, the enemy launched two attacks with six UAVs on Vovchansk, two UAVs on Bilyi Kolodiaz, and another UAV hit Staryi Saltiv. The invaders fired 8 unguided aerial missiles at Vovchanski Khutory. One combat engagement is currently ongoing towards Kharkiv.
Towards Kupiansk, the number of combat engagements increased to 13. Five attacks were successfully repelled by our troops, eight more are ongoing near Synkivka, Novoselivka, Novoiehorivka and Stelmakhivka.
Towards Lyman, the aggressor is attacking near Nevske and Yampil. One combat engagement ended without success for the enemy and another is ongoing.
Towards Porkovsk, the situation remains tense. There have been 37 combat engagements since the beginning of the day. The Ukrainian defence forces successfully repelled 27 russian assaults. Another 10 battles are ongoing. The situation is under control.
Towards Kurakhove, the invaders tried to attack our positions 7 times. Ukrainian defenders repelled three assaults, four more are ongoing near Krasnohorivka and Paraskoviivka.
Towards Vremivka, Ukrainian troops repelled 6 russian attacks.
Towards Orikhiv, fighting continues near Mala Tokmachka and Novodanylivka. Three of them were completed without success for the enemy, two are still ongoing.
The situation in other sectors remained unchanged.
Units of the Defence Forces are inflicting fire damage on the invaders and depleting them along the entire frontline.
On the occasion of the International Children’s Day, Ukraine held a nationwide action “Voices of Children” dedicated to the victims of the armed aggression of the russian federation against Ukraine. During the event, participants hung hundreds of bells on trees as a symbol of the voices of the children who were killed.
Since the beginning of the full-scale war on 24 February 2022, more than 500 children have been killed, more than a thousand injured, 393 children are missing and more than 19,500 have been abducted by russia.
Mykola Kuleba, Founder of the Save Ukraine organisation, reported that 6 children were rescued from the occupation, 3 of them are half-orphans. 3 Ukrainian families managed to leave the temporarily occupied territories. The father of one of the families was killed in front of his three children by a russian shell that hit their yard. Children from another family witnessed their father being tortured by the russian military several times. The youngest son of the family stopped speaking after seeing this.
Recent war events in the east of Ukraine
Kharkiv oblast
Referring to the General Staff, russians lost 174 men towards Kharkiv and another 125 towards Kupiansk yesterday. Since the beginning of the day on 4 June, there were three combat engagements towards Kharkiv without any success for russia.
Towards Kupiansk, russian invaders have become somewhat more active and are using aircraft. Ukrainian defenders repelled 8 enemy assaults. 3 combat engagements are still ongoing near Stelmakhivka and Berestove.
Dmytro Chubenko, Spokesman of the regional Prosecutor’s Office, stated that in Kharkiv oblast, 53 boys and 40 girls were killed and 218 boys and 114 girls injured as a result of russia’s armed aggression. According to him, law enforcers opened the most proceedings over the deaths of children in Izium region and injuries of children in Kharkiv.
Last week, 12 residents of Kharkiv oblast were killed by russian shelling. Another 83 people were injured as a result of russian strikes and 1 person was injured as a result of an unexploded ordnance.
In Kharkiv oblast, an increase in the number of russian attacks on bases and recreation facilities has been recorded. Specifically, russians attacked such facilities in May and June in Cherkaska Lozova, Balakliia, Dachne and Khotimlia. According to Volodymyr Tymoshko, Head of Kharkiv police, russian troops are attacking to force people to leave the oblast.
Volodymyr Tymoshko added that on 4 June, at around 7am, the enemy shelled Kupiansk. The press service of the State Emergency Service of Kharkiv oblast reported that a 59-year-old man was injured as a result of the morning attacks by russian troops. Andrii Kanashevych, Head of the Regional Military Administration, said that more than 12 houses were damaged, several were completely destroyed. According to him, the man saved from the rubble was in shock, but not critically injured.
The regional Prosecutor’s Office informed that a 66-year-old woman sustained a foot injury as a result of a russian mine explosion in Kamiantsi, Izium region. Preliminarily, it was an anti-personnel landmine.
Yesterday at 8:15pm, a house was burning and a woman was injured as a result of shelling in Bilyi Kolodiaz village of Vovchansk community, Chuhuiv region.
At 6:42pm, a state educational institution on Liubovi Maloi Avenue, Kharkiv, was damaged. The back side of the educational building was partially destroyed and a woman injured.
At 5pm, Bilyi Kolodiaz village of Vovchansk community, Chuhuiv region, was shelled. The building of the elevator was damaged. As a result of the shelling two garages and three trucks, the roof of the boiler room of the shop were burning.
At 3:20pm, 9 mobile homes, 15 metal houses, 4 yachts, 1 boat were burning as a result of the shelling of Khotimlia village of Staryi Sasltiv community, Chuhuiv region.
At 12pm, the territory of a civilian enterprise in Kupiansk was hit.
Towards Kharkiv, the enemy attacked our defenders’ positions 6 times near Lyptsi and Vovchansk. 5 attacks were repelled and one battle is ongoing near Vovchansk. The invaders are not successful, the situation is under control.
Towards Kupiansk, the situation has not changed significantly, with tension remaining near Berestove and Stelmakhivka, where two combat engagements are currently ongoing. The enemy’s intentions to advance towards Synkivka, Nevske and Terny failed. The situation is under control of the Defence Forces.
A total of 11,629 people were evacuated from Chuhuiv, Kharkiv and Bohodukhiv regions.
Donetsk oblast
According to the General Staff, towards Lyman, russian troops are trying to approach Ukrainian positions near Yampil. Towards Kurakhove, the situation is tense. In Krasnohorivka area, the enemy is trying to push our units back from their positions and the battle continues.
An installation was set up in the Sviatohirsk community to mark the Day of Remembrance of Children who were killed as a result of russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine.

The regional police said that on 3 June, the russian army shelled Toretsk with artillery and dropped an UMPB D-30 SN guided bomb on Berestok. In addition, a person was killed in Maksymilianivka as a result of a russian strike on 2 June.
The operational situation in the oblast as of the morning of 4 June is as follows:
Towards Volnovakha, a house was damaged in Novoukrainka of Vuhledar community.
Towards Pokrovsk, a house was damaged in Zoriane of Marinka community. Veselyi Hai, Uspenivka and Kurakhove of Kurakhove community were shelled. The outskirts of Selydove community were under attack.
Towards Kramatorsk, the outskirts of Terny and Yampolivka of Lyman community were shelled. 8 objects were damaged in Berestka of Illinivka community. In the villages of Kostiantynivka community, private houses were repeatedly damaged. Druzhkivka was shelled with Smerch MRLs.
Towards Bakhmut, 16 private houses, 2 apartment buildings and an infrastructure facility were damaged in Chasiv Yar community.
In total, russians shelled settlements in Donetsk oblast 11 times over the day. 215 people, including 30 children, were evacuated from the frontline.
Vadym Filashkin, Head of Donetsk Regional Military Administration, said that yesterday russians killed 2 civilians in Mykhailivka. Two more people were injured in the oblast over the day.
Luhansk oblast
Russians shelled Nevske with all types of weapons, including mortars, cannon and rocket artillery. There were 30 explosions in different parts of the village. It is extremely dangerous to stay there. This is why it is necessary to evacuate.
Stelmakhivka, Kuzemivka, Makiivka and Hrekivka also were under enemy attacks.
Towards Kupiansk, the tension remains near Stelmakhivka. The enemy’s intentions to advance towards Nevske and in Serebrianka forestry failed. The situation is under control of the Defence Forces.
The enemy lost 61 men in this area over the day. Two vehicles were destroyed, a tank, two artillery systems and a surface-to-air missile system damaged.
Towards Siversk, the invaders made 24 attempts to break into the combat formations of our units, including near Bilohorivka.
Our soldiers destroyed two tanks, an armoured combat vehicle, an artillery system and two electronic warfare systems. 91 people were killed and injured in action.
Artem Lysohor, Head of Luhansk Regional Military Administration, reported that more than 2,500 children aged 13 to 17 from the temporarily occupied territories will undergo military training in volgograd region this year. Last summer, the russian federation began to actively open military sports centres called “warrior” to prepare teenagers for further participation in combat operations. The local collaborators select the students for such training on their own. First of all, they pay attention to the physical development of the child and actively engage in psychological processing.
According to Luhansk Regional Military Administration, employees of the occupation administrations, social security, teachers, lecturers and representatives of other budgetary structures are forced to clean the streets of the settlements of the so-called “lpr”. This is due to the lack of street cleaners and other employees of the housing and communal services sector. The occupation authorities brought at least 54,000 state employees to the streets of the cities of the occupied Luhansk oblast to clean up illegal dumps.

Kyiv oblast
In Kyiv oblast, 130 children were killed and wounded at the hands of the russian occupiers. Ruslan Kravchenko, Head of the regional military administration, reports that in Bucha during the commemoration ceremony of children who died as a result of russia’s armed aggression.
In Kyiv, the memory of children who died due to russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine was honoured at the location where a children’s martyrology was presented. During the opening of the special exhibition Unfinished Books of Life, the organisers noted that 550 Ukrainian children will not finish their unique book of life because it was taken away by the russian invaders during a full-scale invasion. In total, during the 10 years of russian aggression in Ukraine, almost 800 children’s lives were cut short. The event on the occasion of the International Day of Innocent Children – Victims of Aggression was held on the territory of the National Museum of the History of Ukraine in the Second World War.
Emergency power outages were introduced in Kyiv and Kyiv oblast. They were used by DTEK due to the difficult situation in the energy system after the shelling by the russian federation. Forced power outages are the result of six combined targeted russian attacks on the Ukrainian energy system. Electricity is significantly insufficient to cover the needs of all consumers.
Bucha handed over five Mavic 3Ts to the military in Kharkiv oblast, who hold positions near Vovchansk. According to Bucha Mayor Anatolii Fedoruk, drones with thermal imagers worth more than UAH 900,000 were purchased.
Irpin Mayor Oleksandr Markushyn says that in the village of Kozyntsi, a kindergarten will be overhauled. Building materials will be provided by benefactors. In Zhytomyr, an event dedicated to the Day of Commemoration of Children who were killed as a result of the armed aggression of the russian federation was held on Castle Hill. On the tree, as a symbol of life, children and adults tied bells, which symbolize the souls of Ukrainian children who were killed at the hands of russian occupiers, and the bell is their voices, which will be heard forever in the hearts of Ukrainians.
13 veterans from Zhytomyr oblast took part in the Invictus Games national competition, which took place in the capital. The national selection for the national team has become the largest veteran sports event, bringing together military personnel and veterans who have received injuries, wounds or diseases related to the performance of combat missions at the front.
Thanks to the help of benefactors, Zhytomyr oblast handed over a Volkswagen Transporter car to one of the battalions of unmanned systems. The vehicles have undergone maintenance and are ready to help the fighters defend Ukraine. The fighters also received 3 FPV drones and a generator.
Referring to Vitalii Bunechko, Head of the Regional Military Administration, more than 70% of the employees of Zhytomyr Regional Military Administration are women. They are responsible for a wide range of issues, such as reconstruction of infrastructure destroyed, development of the health care system, rehabilitation of war victims, education, social protection, economy, housing and communal services, and information policy during the war.
Sumy oblast
According to the regional Prosecutor’s Office, a 70-year-old pensioner was killed in Sumy oblast as a result of russian shelling. This happened during enemy artillery shelling at 12:40pm in the city of Seredyna-Buda.
As a result of the shelling of Khotyn community, 2 people were injured (a 17-year-old girl and a 50-year-old man). The victims are provided with the necessary assistance. As a result of the shelling, 2 private houses were destroyed, one of which caught fire.
According to Sumy Regional Military Administration, on June 4, the enemy launched a missile attack on infrastructure facilities of Konotop community. All necessary services are working on site. The consequences of the attack are being clarified.
On the night and morning of June 4, the russian military carried out 6 attacks on border areas and settlements of Sumy oblast. There were 26 explosions due to strikes from mortars, artillery and FPV drones. Shalyhine, Krasnopillia, Velyka Pysarivka, and Seredyna-Buda communities were shelled.
On June 3, russians carried out 18 attacks on Sumy oblast. According to the regional military administration, there were 61 hits from various types of weapons. Yunakivka, Mykolaiv, Khotyn, Bilopillia, Krasnopillia, Seredyna-Buda, and Velyka Pysarivka communities were under enemy fire. According to the North Operational Command, a private house in Seredyna-Buda was damaged as a result of enemy shelling.
Representatives of the Red Cross evacuated the last two residents from the border village of Turia of Krasnopillia community, located less than 5 kilometers from russia. The women refused to leave without their six goats and agreed to move only with them. Currently, they are all settling in a new place in the village of Mozove, Sumy oblast.
The city council reported that two shelters were built in Trostyanets community. Two educational institutions, whose students had previously studied remotely, now have the opportunity to return to full-time education.
Volodymyr Artiukh, Head of Sumy Regional Military Administration, reports that Sumy oblast was visited by members of the UNICEF Office in Ukraine and the Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights. At the meeting, they discussed further cooperation to ensure children’s rights and strengthen their protection.
Chernihiv oblast
As reported by Chernihiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office, in Chernihiv oblast, 23 children have been killed since the beginning of the full-scale russian invasion. The youngest girl was six years old, the oldest boy was 17. According to the Regional Service for Children, 78 children were injured, 14 were left without parental care. 63,674 children have the status of children affected by hostilities and armed conflicts.
Over the past day, russian troops struck four border villages in Chernihiv oblast. According to the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, there were 21 hits from mortars and barrel artillery. Semenivka, Snovsk and Horodnya communities were under enemy fire.

Dnipropetrovsk oblast
The morning in Dnipro began with an explosion. The occupiers launched two missiles at the city. They were shot down by the defenders of the sky. The falling debris caused a fire. A 1-month-old boy was injured. A 17-year-old boy was hospitalized in moderate condition. A 68-year-old man and three women aged 32, 36 and 56 were also injured. A dozen and a half cars were damaged. The occupiers attacked Nikopol 15 times during the day. They used kamikaze drones and fired from artillery. The enemy targeted Nikopol, Myrove and Pokrovsk communities. An agricultural company and infrastructure facilities were damaged. Also in the afternoon, russian troops fired a missile at Kryvyi Rih. A 69-year-old man received shrapnel wounds to his legs. He will be treated at home. A private house was damaged in the attack.
Vinnytsia oblast
6 kamikaze drones for the Ukrainian Armed Forces were purchased at the Vinnytsia-Khutir Lyceum. The funds were raised during a charity fair under the slogan “Turning sweets into drones”.

A commemorative event called “Voices of Children” was organized in Poltava Square. Silhouettes of little Ukrainians with targets, laid out toys and lit lamps were on display. The Information Resistance group informs that the russians illegally deported more than 40 children from the temporarily occupied Berdiansk to Chuvashia. Throughout the entire period of occupation, the fake authorities regularly deport young Berdiansk residents and residents of other TOT to the territory of russia. This is done under various pretexts, such as “excursions” or “recreation”. This time, they decided to improve the health of young Berdiansk residents in Chuvashia. In total, they plan to send 300 children on vacation. So far, 43 of them have already been transported to this region.
Ivan Fedorov, Head of the Zaporizhzhya Regional Military Administration, specialists are continuously working on the restoration of traffic by the Dnipro HPP dam. The dam will be opened for cars when it is as safe as possible for traffic.
Mykolaiv oblast
Vitalii Kim, Head of Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration, informs that yesterday at 1:04pm, the russians shelled Kutsurub community with artillery, there were no casualties. At 1:44pm and 8:56pm, the water area of Ochakiv community was under artillery fire; there were no casualties. At 04:37 on Tuesday, Kutsurub community was again subjected to artillery fire, there were no casualties. There were no casualties.
Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration reports that in Mykolaiv, the memory of children who died as a result of russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine was honoured. Caring Mykolaiv residents took part in the action “Voices of Children” and honoured the memory of little Ukrainians whose lives were taken by the war. The event was also joined by Vitalii Kim, Head of Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration, together with his wife and son, as well as Oleksandr Traitli, Deputy Head of Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration. It should be noted that since the beginning of the full-scale invasion in Mykolaiv oblast, 20 children have been killed, and 78 injured.
Odesa oblast
On June 4, Ukraine honours the memory of children who died as a result of the armed aggression of the russian federation against Ukraine. According to the Prosecutor General’s Office, 550 children were killed and 1,366 injured in Ukraine. Almost 20,000 children were forcibly deported to the aggressor country. The actual number of killed and wounded cannot be established due to active hostilities. According to the Department of Education and Science of Odesa Regional State Administration, 10 children were killed in Odesa oblast from the attacks of the russian army.
According to the Navy of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, on June 3, another sea mine was found off the coast in the south of Ukraine and destroyed with a controlled detonation.
Danylo Melnichenko, manager of the Odessa consulting company Informall BG, says that regular flights to the port of Chornomorsk in Odesa oblast are opened by the Turkish container shipping operator Akkon Lines. This company has been working with Danube ports of Odesa oblast since the full-scale invasion.
Kherson oblast
Referring to the South Air Command, towards Kherson, two reconnaissance UAVs of the russian army were shot down at night. The downed drones belong to Orlan-10 and ZALA types.
Antonivka, Sadove, Prydniprovske, Dniprovske, Veletenske, Stanislav, Tomyna Balka, Sofiivka, Bilozerka, Molodizhne, Beryslav, Mykhailivka, Zolota Balka, Novovorontsovka, Mylove and Kherson came under russian fire.
Oleksandr Prokudin, Head of Kherson Regional Military Administration, says that the russian military targeted residential areas of the region’s settlements, in particular, 15 private houses were damaged. An educational institution, a kindergarten, a pharmacy, an office building, gas pipelines and the territory of an agricultural enterprise were also hit. A warehouse and private cars were damaged. Four people were injured.
On the afternoon of June 4, the occupier’s army struck the village of Veletenske of Bilozirka community. As a result of the shelling, a local resident was killed and two more people injured.
Kherson Regional Prosecutor’s Office reports that 43 children were killed in more than 2 years of russia’s full-scale invasion in Kherson oblast: the youngest child who died due to russian shelling was 22 days old, the oldest was 15 years old, and 152 were injured.

Volyn oblast
Lutsk City Council reported that the community sent 10 quadcopters DartBee 10 (without battery) and 10 quadcopters DartBee 7 (without battery) to the Military Unit 9938 (the 3rd Border Detachment named after the Hero of Ukraine of Colonel Yevgenii Pikus of the State Border Service).
Zakarpattia oblast
The Owl’s Nest Humanitarian Aid Center provided IDPs registered in Uzhgorod with 30 packages with necessary things for children under 1 year old, 50 bags with grocery sets and 50 packages with hygiene kits. During the week, volunteers gave out clothes, shoes, bed linen and dishes (1.1K items) from the PDUM Partnerschaft Deutschland-Ukraine/Moldova e. Ivano-Frankivsk oblast
Team of Ivano-Frankivsk RMA visited Donetsk oblast, where brigades from Prykarpattia are strengthening the defence line. For several months, engineers and builders from the oblast, with the involvement of equipment, have been working on the construction of engineering and technical and fortification structures that will effectively deter the enemy and preserve the lives of defenders. They looked at what had already been done and handed over about 2 tonnes of food. Last week, water, food and hygiene products were also sent from Ivano-Frankivsk.
Lviv oblast
Foreign representatives of the Supervisory Board and the Management Board of Ukrhasbank and heads of the bank’s business divisions came to Lviv on a working visit. Ukrhasbank financially supports the construction and development of the UNBROKEN ecosystem and has already allocated almost UAH 24m for this. Guests have already visited the hospital of St. Panteleimon and Lviv City Hall.
Lviv oblast continues to receive people arriving from the frontline areas, namely, Pokrovsk, Kherson and Zaporizhzhia oblasts. In the last week, 177 people came to the oblast. Among them are 21 persons with disabilities, 11 elderly people. The most requested help is escort, informational assistance, drop-off of people with reduced mobility, psychological consultations, settlement of older people and people with disabilities.
Due to military actions, 5 more children deprived of parental care were evacuated to Lviv oblast. The children were placed in one of the children’s institutions of the oblast. As of today, 208 evacuated children are temporarily staying in the oblast, including 142 orphans, children deprived of parental care (as part of evacuated institutions), who are placed in 16 institutions of Lviv oblast.
The charity event Children of Ukraine –SUPERHEROES took place in Lviv State Circus. The circus performance brought together 1,500 children from all communities of Lviv oblast. These are children whose parents came to the defence of Ukraine during a full-scale invasion.
Rivne oblast
Another anonymous report was received about the mining of the building of Rivne RMA and the Regional Council. Employees were evacuated according to the protocol. Special services conducted an inspection of the premises. No explosive objects were found.
Rivne oblast received an evacuation train from Donetsk oblast. Already the 6th this year. 20 people arrived in the oblast, among them 4 children and 4 persons with disabilities. All of them will be placed in communities of Dubensk region, namely, Ostrozhetsk, Mlynivsk, Varkovytsk and Verbsk. Currently, approximately 400 places have been prepared for this.
Ternopil oblast
Ternopil City Council reported that the community sent 5 sets of Alientech Deimox Signal to amplify the radio signal of drones to the 110th Separate Mechanised Brigade.
Khmelnytskyi oblast
Khmelnytskyi City Council reported that the community sent 33 different EW and PER devices of various types worth over UAH 11.2m to the 106th Territorial Defense Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Chernivtsi oblast
Keri-Lynn Wilson, star Canadian conductor with Ukrainian roots, visited Chernivtsi. The creation of the Ukrainian Freedom Orchestra was a manifestation of her desire to support Ukraine with music. The collective brought together leading Ukrainian musicians and artists of European orchestras of Ukrainian origin. Through their music, the voice of Ukraine is heard all over the world.
A mental health literary express was held on the peony field for military personnel undergoing rehabilitation, defenders from Hlybotsk community and their families. The event was held by the Florium company, Prosvita of Bukovyna, Chernivtsi RMA and Hlybotsk community.
International support of Ukraine in the russian-Ukrainian war (russia’s invasion of Ukraine)
Andrii Yermak, Head of the Office of the President, announced that Italy will send the 2nd SAMP/T air defence system to Ukraine.
Great Britain and Latvia announced a tender for the production of FPV drones for the Ukrainian military. The British Ministry of Defense explained that they are looking to find companies capable of producing drones on a large scale and at an affordable price, using the capabilities of Western industry.
The UN confirmed its participation in the Peace Summit. The 1st Peace Summit, initiated by Ukraine and Switzerland, will be held on 15-16 June. Currently, it is known that 107 countries and international organisations have confirmed their participation in the event.
The US will send Kamala Harris, Vice President, and Mike Sullivan, Biden’s National Security Adviser, to the Peace Summit in Switzerland.
The Raiffeisen bank will disable russians from making outgoing payments in dollars from 10 June 2024. The ability to make outgoing payments in dollars will be terminated for all bank clients.
Yevgeniia Kravchuk, Deputy Head of the Committee on Humanitarian and Information Policy, reported that the PACE recognized that russia is committing cultural genocide on Ukrainian territories, and the erasure of Ukrainian cultural identity is an instrument of war against Ukraine and aimed at the destruction of the Ukrainian nation.
