On 3 July, the aggressor launched 55 attacks on the positions of the Defense Forces.
Artillery shellings of the border areas continue. Neskuchne, Volfyne, Korenok, Kysla Dubyna, Hirky, Ryzhivka, and Khodyne in Sumy oblast came under fire. Tovstodubove was hit by an airstrike.
- Towards Northern Sloboda and Kursk: Four combat engagements took place, two of which are still ongoing. The occupiers carried out 16 shellings, including one using a multiple launch rocket system (MLRS).
- Towards Southern Sloboda: The invaders made two attempts to break through the defense lines near Khatnie.
- Towards Kupiansk: One enemy attack remains ongoing in the direction of Novoosynove.
- Towards Lyman: Ukrainian soldiers repelled three attempts by the invaders to advance near the settlements of Drobysheve and Dibrova.
- Towards Sloviansk: The Defense Forces successfully repelled 13 enemy attacks in the vicinity of the settlements of Kryva Luka and Rai-Oleksandrivka, as well as near Riznykivka and Zakitne. Two attacks are still ongoing.
- Towards Kramatorsk: russian invaders launched one attack in the vicinity of Malynivka.
- Towards Kostiantynivka: Our defenders repelled 14 attacks near the settlements of Kostiantynivka, Ivanopillia, Illinivka, Stepanivka, and Toretske. Four attacks are still ongoing.
- Towards Pokrovsk: The occupiers have made eight attempts to push our soldiers from their positions near the settlements of Rodynske, Kotlyne, Udachne, Muravka, Ivanivka, Shevchenko, and Serhiivka.
- Towards Huliaipole: The Defense Forces successfully repelled nine enemy attacks near Dobropillia, Vozdvyzhivka and Charivne.

Recent war events in the east of Ukraine
Kharkiv oblast
There were 273 combat clashes along the front line.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reports that Towards Southern Sloboda, Ukrainian military forces repelled 22 attacks by russian troops near Izbytske and Starytsia, as well as in the directions of Volokhivка, Staryi Khutor, Hrane, Kudievka, Symynivka, and Khatnie. Towards Kupiansk, russian troops launched two attacks in the direction of Novoosynove.

In the Kyivskyi district, three people were injured as a result of UAV strikes, while another drone hit the same district, Mayor Ihor Terekhov reported. In the Saltivskyi district, a fiber-optic FPV drone struck a multi-story residential building, the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office reported.
The State Emergency Service of Kharkiv oblast reports that in Velykyi Burluk, an FPV drone attacked a passenger car parked near a shop. A fire broke out, but no one was injured.
Mayor Serhii Zelenskyi reported that in Lozova, an overnight attack by russian drones damaged 10 houses and completely destroyed two others. According to him, at least five drones struck the city. Suspilne reports that a 10-year-old girl sustained burns to 70% of her body. Her parents were also injured, while two younger children suffered an acute stress reaction.
Over the past day, the city of Kharkiv and 27 settlements in the region came under enemy fire. The shelling killed one person and injured 16 others, including four children.
- Shevchenkove: A 76-year-old man was killed; three men aged 41, 52, and 70, and two women aged 47 and 52 were wounded.
- Kharkiv: A 37-year-old man, a 36-year-old woman, and a 7-year-old girl were injured.
- Lozova: Two women aged 27 and 58, a 30-year-old man, and three girls aged 1, 6, and 10 were injured.
- Vilkhuvatka & Zhukiv Yar: A 63-year-old woman was wounded in Vilkhuvatka, and a 68-year-old woman was injured between Zhukiv Yar and Velykyi Burluk.
According to Kharkiv Oblast Military Administration, russian troops deployed 2 KABs, 10 “Molniya” UAVs, 9 FPV drones, and 25 unidentified drones. The attacks damaged residential houses, gas stations, shops, businesses, a grain elevator, warehouses, cars, and other civilian infrastructure objects across Kharkiv and five districts of the region.
The UNDP reports that around 3.5 million tons of demolition waste have accumulated in Kharkiv oblast due to russian shellings. Once processed, this waste can be used to manufacture building materials and repair roads. According to Roman Shakhmatenko, UNDP Team Leader for Energy and Environment, the region already possesses the necessary equipment, but the reuse of these raw materials is currently hindered by a lack of state standards.
Kharkiv Oblast Military Administration reports that the transit evacuation point in Lozova accommodated 192 people over the past day. In total, 43,725 evacuated individuals have been registered there since the point began operating.
Due to the deteriorating security situation, the Defense Council of Kharkiv Oblast has expanded the mandatory evacuation zone. Kharkiv Oblast Military Administration reports that mandatory evacuation has been introduced for 41 settlements in Shevchenkove community and 11 additional settlements in the Bohodukhiv district. Furthermore, in
Derhachi community, mandatory evacuation—including the forced evacuation of children—has been declared for the settlements of Pytomnyk, Nove, Slatyne, and several adjacent villages.
Donetsk oblast
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reports that over the past day, russian troops launched 39 attacks towards Pokrovsk. The Defense Forces repelled assaults near Novooleksandrivka, Bilytske, and Rodynske, as well as in the vicinity of Myrne, Toretske, Shevchenko, Filiia, Kucheriv Yar, Vilne, Dorozhne, Svitle, Hryshyne, Kotlyne, and Udachne.
Towards Slovyansk, the occupiers carried out 30 attacks, while Ukrainian military forces repelled another 17 assaults towards Kostiantynivka.
Mariupol City Council reports that explosions rang out overnight in temporarily occupied Mariupol. According to preliminary data, the city was attacked by drones. There are reports of destroyed trucks, as well as disruptions to power and water supplies in several districts.
Donetsk Regional Prosecutor’s Office reports that on the morning of 3 July, russian troops used an FPV drone to attack a civilian car near Druzhkivka that was evacuating people from the frontline area. Four people sustained injuries: the 50-year-old driver, two women aged 47 and 68, and a 74-year-old man.
Vadym Lyakh, Head of Sloviansk City Military Administration, reported that a man born in 1954 was killed and two other people were injured as a result of an overnight russian strike on Slovyansk.
According to the State Emergency Service of Donetsk region, rescuers extricated the body of the deceased from under the rubble, extinguished a fire in a private house covering an area of 40 square meters, and rescued a dog. The attack damaged six private houses, two cars, and multi-story buildings, leaving a section of the community without electricity and water supplies.

For 2 July, police recorded 1,327 shelling attacks along the front line and the residential sector of Donetsk oblast. Ten settlements came under fire. Ninety-eight civilian objects were damaged, including 62 residential houses.

In Sloviansk, the russians carried out four strikes, killing two civilians and injuring two other people. A gas station and a cargo truck were damaged.
In Druzhkivka, strikes by three FPV drones killed one person and injured three others. A private house and a civilian car sustained damage.
russian troops dropped seven KAB-250 guided aerial bombs on Oleksandrivka, killing one person and injuring six others. The attack damaged 2 apartment buildings, 58 private houses, two educational institution buildings, a shop, three administrative buildings, and two cars.
Donetsk Regional Police reports that in Sviatohorivka, an FPV drone strike on a highway injured one person and damaged a civilian car. Another person was injured in Adamivka due to shelling along the highway.
russian troops struck Kramatorsk with eight drones. A private house, two shops, a bank terminal, and 17 civilian cars were damaged. In the village of Vesela Hora, a private house sustained damage.
Druzhkivka Settlement Military Administration reports that over the course of a month, more than 1,160 people were evacuated from the Druzhkivka community, with many bringing along their pets. As of early July, 4,906 residents remain in the community.

Mariupol City Council reported that during the latest prisoner of war exchange, 29-year-old Dmytro, a serviceman of the 109th Separate Territorial Defense Brigade from Mariupol, returned to Ukraine. Before the full-scale invasion, he worked in a military surplus store and was passionate about photography. Following the defense of Mariupol, the serviceman was taken into russian captivity.
Luhansk oblast
Luhansk Region Military Administration reports that over the past day, russian troops launched seven attacks Towards Lyman near three settlements. The occupiers struck the positions of Ukrainian defenders using tube artillery, carried out 13 drone drops, and deployed 19 FPV drones.
Luhansk Region Military Administration reports that approximately 40% of positions remain vacant in medical facilities across temporarily occupied Luhansk oblast. According to official data from the occupation administration, even after several waves of “optimization” and the involvement of russian medical staff working on a rotational basis, staffing levels for doctors and junior medical personnel stand at only 60%.
In several towns of Luhansk oblast occupied in 2022, mobile and wired internet, as well as telephone service, have been unavailable for a long time, Luhansk Region Military Administration reports. According to the administration, home internet access in Rubizhne can only be obtained unofficially for an additional fee.
Luhansk Region Military Administration reports that military administrations of Luhansk oblast have processed 51,629 notifications regarding damaged or destroyed housing, representing 90% of all submitted applications. The communities of the Sievierodonetsk district processed the largest share, handling 47,900 notifications.
In total, residents of the region have submitted 57,395 notifications, of which 39,401 concern destroyed property and 17,994 concern damaged property. A total of 40,952 real estate properties have already been entered into the State Register of Damaged and Destroyed Property. The Regional Military Administration reminded residents that while property owners in Luhansk oblast cannot receive compensation just yet, entering this information into the register is a prerequisite for receiving future payments.
What is happening now in the north of Ukraine
Kyiv oblast
Search and rescue operations have been completed at the destroyed nine-story residential building in Kyiv’s Darnytskyi district, according to the Ministry of Internal Affairs as of 3:55 p.m. on July 3.
Rescuers recovered the bodies of 10 victims from beneath the rubble. In total, 30 people were killed in Kyiv as a result of Russia’s massive overnight attack on July 2.

Throughout the night following Russia’s July 2 attack, search and rescue operations continued at three locations in Kyiv’s Darnytskyi district. Rescuers recovered three more bodies from the rubble. As of the morning of July 3, three people remained missing, including a 15-year-old girl.
A total of 99 residents were injured in the Russian attack. Fifty-six of the wounded remain hospitalized. Four children are being treated in hospitals, including a 10-year-old boy whose parents are still listed as missing. The boy is being cared for in the hospital by his grandfather.


As a result of Russia’s massive attack on Kyiv on July 2, 23 educational institutions were damaged across the Darnytskyi, Dniprovskyi, Shevchenkivskyi, and Pecherskyi districts, according to the Kyiv City State Administration. The affected facilities include 10 kindergartens, 10 schools, two extracurricular education centers, and one vocational education institution.
Russian forces also destroyed a warehouse belonging to the Ukrainian Red Cross in Kyiv. More than 320,000 units of humanitarian aid and equipment—including generators, medical equipment, and emergency relief reserves—were lost, with the total value of the destroyed supplies exceeding UAH 79 million.

The Regional Intensive Care Hospital, which had been relocated from Mariupol to the Donetsk region, was damaged during Russia’s combined missile and drone attack on Kyiv on the night of July 2, according to the head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration, Vadym Filashkin. “This is a hospital that had already survived the siege of Mariupol, evacuation, the loss of its home, and relocation,” he said.
In Kyiv’s Obolonskyi district, the overnight Russian attack and the subsequent fire at a local enterprise caused a spill of fuel and lubricants into Kyrylivske and Yordanske lakes, according to the Kyiv City State Administration’s Department of Environmental Protection and Climate Change Adaptation.
Russia’s overnight strike on July 2 also destroyed a Nova Poshta logistics center in Kyiv.
The Russian attack damaged the Kyiv Zoo, according to the Kyiv City State Administration. Tortoises and crocodiles were injured by falling glass shards and window frame fragments but received prompt veterinary care. Buildings housing the primate and bird departments, the winter garden dome, the aquaterrarium, the northern entrance complex, and exotic plants in the winter garden were also damaged.
The Russian attack also damaged the Megapolihraf printing facility in Kyiv, where school textbooks for the upcoming academic year were being produced. The company suspended operations, according to Viktor Kruhlov, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the RNK-Ranok Corporation. He said that employees working the night shift were unharmed because the building’s internal walls absorbed the blast wave.
Russia’s attack destroyed the central warehouse of BookChef‘s logistics partner. The fire consumed approximately 800,000 books. The publisher said the loss included not only printed editions but also years of work by authors, translators, editors, illustrators, and printers.
On July 2, Russian forces also completely destroyed the warehouse of the MOYO online retail chain in Kyiv. The facility burned to the ground, leaving no chance to save the stored products. No employees were injured.

As a result of Russia’s overnight attack on Kyiv on July 2, the office of the NGO La Strada–Ukraine was damaged. The blast wave shattered windows and damaged all office premises, the organization reported. La Strada–Ukraine is one of the country’s largest civil society organizations providing assistance to survivors of domestic violence, victims of human trafficking, and children in crisis situations.
During Russia’s massive overnight attack on Kyiv on July 2, institutions of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine were once again struck, the Academy reported. Roofs, vehicles, research laboratories, and scientific equipment caught fire, while windows were blown out by the explosions.

Vodafone reported possible disruptions to its fixed internet services following Russia’s overnight attack on July 2.
During Russia’s overnight attack on Kyiv on July 2, a historic building on Taras Shevchenko Boulevard, designed by architect Yosyp Zektsner, was damaged. The building now houses the CityHotel Residence. Firefighters worked throughout the night to extinguish a fire in the hotel. The building is a protected architectural landmark dating to the early 20th century.

The overnight Russian attack on Kyiv on July 2 damaged the studio of the Island TV channel. During the attack, the studio’s security guard, Volodymyr, was killed. He had traveled to work from the Sumy region. The information was reported by Detector Media.
Following the massive overnight Russian attack, police bomb disposal experts in Kyiv’s Obolonskyi district discovered fragments of a Russian Kh-69 missile equipped with a cluster warhead on the grounds of a local enterprise, according to Kyiv’s National Police. Specialists determined that some of the submunitions had detonated, while 12 remained active and posed an ongoing danger.
During Russia’s massive overnight attack on Kyiv on July 2, 52,500 people, including nearly 4,500 children, took shelter in the city’s metro system. According to Kyiv Metro, this was the largest number of people sheltering at metro stations during a nighttime air raid alert in recent years.
Zhytomyr oblast
In northern Zhytomyr region, a forest fire broke out in the Drevlianskyi Nature Reserve as a result of Russian aerial attacks. According to the State Environmental Inspectorate of the Polissia District, environmental damage caused by the fire is estimated at UAH 73 million. The fire burned more than 20 hectares of forest and lasted for over two days. It released nearly 16,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide, more than 100 tonnes of particulate matter, and dozens of tonnes of carbon monoxide into the atmosphere.
On July 2, firefighters from the Zhytomyr region were deployed to Kyiv to assist their colleagues in responding to the aftermath of Russia’s strikes, working at the sites of the attacks, according to the State Emergency Service.
A new veterans’ support center, St. Francis House, has opened in Zhytomyr for service members, veterans, and their families. The center is located at the Church of St. John of Dukla, according to the Zhytomyr Regional Military Administration. It offers a space where Ukraine’s defenders and their families can receive support, connect with others, and avoid facing the challenges of returning from war alone.
Sumy oblast
Oleh Hryhorov, Head of the Regional Military Administration, reported that during June, Ukrainian air defence units shot down or suppressed with electronic warfare nearly 5,500 strike and reconnaissance UAVs over Sumy oblast. Ukrainian Defence Forces also destroyed an artillery system inside russian territory that had repeatedly shelled the regional centre.
The Regional Military Administration informed that on 3 July, russian forces struck the territory of Sumy community by guided aerial bombs. Four people were injured in the attack. Civilian infrastructure facilities and around 15 private residential houses were damaged. Emergency response operations are ongoing.
On 3 July, russians attacked a filling station in Sumy twice. The second strike was carried out with a jet-powered UAV. A woman and two men, all employees of the filling station, remain in hospital in serious condition.
According to the Regional Military Administration, a woman was injured in a russian attack on a filling station in Nedryhailiv community. Since the previous night, russian forces have attacked filling stations across Sumy oblast four times.

The Regional Military Administration reported that during the night of 3 July, russian drones attacked Romny community. An enemy UAV struck a residential apartment building in a private housing area while people were inside, triggering a large fire. Four people were killed in the attack: two women, an elderly man and a young child. Three men were also injured.

At one of the impact sites, the educational institution was partially destroyed, and nearby residential houses were also damaged. Due to the threat of repeated strikes, State Emergency Service personnel were forced to suspend operations temporarily.

According to the Regional Military Administration, on 2 July, a russian drone attacked a postal vehicle on a road between settlements in Vorozhba community, Sumy region. The driver and a postal worker were injured. The enemy struck a clearly marked mobile post office vehicle, a civilian postal van used to deliver pensions, mail and other essential services.
From the morning of 2 July to the morning of 3 July, russian forces carried out nearly 110 attacks on 26 settlements across 16 territorial communities of Sumy oblast. The highest number of attacks was recorded in Sumy, Shostka and Konotop regions. The enemy used artillery, FPV drones, multiple launch rocket systems, UAVs and guided aerial bombs. Air raid alerts in the oblast lasted for 21 hours and 12 minutes during the reporting period.
The Regional Military Administration reported that, as of the morning of 3 July, five people had been killed and 34 injured in enemy attacks across Sumy oblast over the previous 24 hours. Damage to civilian infrastructure, residential buildings and vehicles was also recorded:
▪️ In Romny community, four people, including a 1-year-8-month-old child, were killed after a UAV struck a residential building. Three people were injured. An apartment building was damaged;
▪️ In Richky community, a 49-year-old woman was killed and a 47-year-old man was injured in an enemy drone strike;
▪️ In Sumy community, two men and an 18-year-old woman were wounded in a UAV strike, while a 23-year-old woman was injured. Nine women, including girls aged 11 and 9, were wounded or injured in a russian guided aerial bomb strike. A woman and three children also suffered acute stress reactions. Civilian infrastructure facilities, private residential houses and passenger vehicles were damaged. A 13-year-old boy and a 46-year-old woman, who had been injured in enemy strikes on 30 June, also sought medical assistance;
▪️ In Bilopollia community, a 53-year-old man and a 63-year-old man were injured in an enemy drone strike. A vehicle was damaged;
▪️ In Vorozhba community, a 55-year-old man and a 53-year-old woman were injured when a UAV struck near a vehicle. A residential house and a service vehicle were damaged;
▪️ In Sad community, a 69-year-old man, a 70-year-old man and a 67-year-old woman were wounded in a UAV strike. A 52-year-old woman was also injured. Private residential houses and a vehicle were damaged;
▪️ In Nedryhailiv community, a 50-year-old woman was injured in a UAV strike;
▪️ In Seredyna-Buda community, residential houses were destroyed. Two women, aged 59 and 62, sought medical assistance after being injured in enemy shelling on 1 July;
▪️ In Buryn community, a civilian infrastructure facility was damaged;
▪️ In Esman community, residential houses were destroyed;
▪️ In Hlukhiv community, a residential house, non-residential premises and a vehicle were damaged;
▪️ In Znob-Novhorodske community, a house was destroyed;
▪️ In Shalyhyne community, a household was destroyed.
Oleh Hryhorov, Head of the Regional Military Administration, informed that the enemy carried out 2,000 attacks across Sumy oblast during the past month. The attacks included 554 air strikes, 659 strikes involving Shahed, Lancet and Molniya UAVs, 545 FPV drone attacks, nearly 250 artillery and mortar attacks, and 10 missile strikes.
Hryhorov also said that 32 residents of Sumy oblast, including one child, were killed in russian attacks during June. Another 325 people, including 34 children, were injured.
According to the Regional Military Administration, work to protect roads in Sumy oblast with anti-drone netting is ongoing. During June, a further 50 kilometres of roads were covered, bringing the total length protected to 458 kilometres. The Regional Military Administration also reported that 337 people, including eight children, were evacuated from border communities in Sumy oblast during June.
Chernihiv oblast
The State Emergency Service reported that on 3 July, a fire broke out at a filling station in Sribne community, Pryluky region, after a russian UAV crashed onto its premises. A 32-year-old filling station employee was injured in the explosion and was hospitalised.
Oleksandr Seliverstov, Head of Novhorod-Siverskyi Regional Military Administration, said that on the morning of 3 July, russian forces carried out a second Molniya UAV strike on the library building in the border village of Pushkari, Chernihiv oblast. The first strike hit the building at around 12:30am. The attacks destroyed the roof, shattered the windows and caused significant damage to the library collection. At around 11:20am., another UAV struck a house in the village.
The National Police informed that russian drone attacks on 2 July damaged an enterprise in Snovsk town and a house in Shyshkivka village, Koriukivka region. The State Emergency Service added that falling UAVs and drone debris ignited dry vegetation, shrubs and forest litter in open areas of Chernihiv and Koriukivka regions.
According to Viacheslav Chaus, Head of Chernihiv Regional Military Administration, between 2 and 3 July, the russian army launched strike drone attacks on three regions of Chernihiv oblast:
▪️ On the morning of 3 July, a Herbera UAV struck a filling station in Ripky;
▪️ On the morning of 3 July, a Heran UAV attacked Pryluky, damaging a residential house;
▪️ In a village of Novhorod-Siverska community, russian forces struck the yard of a residential house by a Molniya UAV;
▪️ During the day on 2 July, a Herbera UAV hit a grain elevator in Snovsk, setting stored grain on fire;
▪️ Shortly after midnight, a Herbera UAV struck an enterprise in a village of Dobrianska community, hitting a railway wagon loaded with timber.
The Chernihiv Border Guard Detachment reported that on 2 July, russian forces attacked five border communities in Chernihiv oblast: Novhorod-Siverskyi, Semenivka, Horodnia, Snovsk and Ripky. The enemy carried out mortar attacks (4 explosions), artillery strikes (3 explosions), one Molniya UAV strike, one Shahed UAV strike, FPV drone attacks (14 explosions), and dropped one explosive device from a UAV. Thirteen settlements came under enemy fire.
Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine
Dnipropetrovsk oblast
Mykola Lukashuk, Head of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast Council, reported that the enemy struck Kryvyi Rih region by missiles. Seven people were injured.
A garage caught fire. Eight apartment buildings, two schools, two garages, a shop, an enterprise and 10 vehicles were damaged. In Shakhtarske, three people – a young woman and two men – were injured in FPV drone strikes. Two buses were damaged.
The occupiers also attacked the regional centre, Pokrovske rural, Tomakivka and Myrove communities by drones. In Myrove community, a private residential house and three outbuildings were damaged. The occupiers also launched UAVs at Krynychky community.
Two men were killed in an enemy strike on lorries travelling along a motorway. Two other people in the region were injured. The occupiers used drones and artillery to attack the regional centre, Chervonohryhorivka, Pokrovske rural, Tomakivka, Marhanets and Myrove communities.
Fires broke out. Two private residential houses, a shop, an outbuilding, a college, an administrative building, four vehicles, a bus, two filling stations and infrastructure were damaged.
According to updated information, six people were injured in the strike on a filling station in Sofiivka community. One person was killed. Fires broke out, and the filling station and two vehicles were damaged.
The enemy also attacked Lozuvatka community, damaging infrastructure. One person was injured in a strike involving two guided aerial bombs in Shakhtarske. Five apartment buildings were damaged.
In Vasylkiv community, a shop caught fire following guided aerial bomb strikes. Three people, including two children, were injured.
In Petropavlivka community, a wheat field caught fire following a UAV attack.
In Ukrainka community, a vehicle caught fire as a result of a UAV attack.
The enemy also struck Slavhorod community. A UAV destroyed a private residential house and damaged an outbuilding and a vehicle.
The occupiers also attacked Dnipro and other communities. A fire broke out in Mykolaivka community, while a building caught fire in Petrykivka community.
Poltava oblast
The Regional Military Administration informed that during an earlier air raid alert today, the enemy attacked a filling station in Lubny region. Equipment at the filling station, window glazing and a vehicle were damaged. According to preliminary information, one person was injured.
Cherkasy oblast

Zaporizhzhia oblast
Today, 3 July, russian forces carried out attacks on different districts of Zaporizhzhia for two consecutive hours, using guided aerial bombs and UAVs. The head of Zaporizhzhia RMA, Ivan Fedorov, reported that two people were killed and 21 others were injured, including one child. An apartment building and several non-residential buildings were damaged, vehicles were destroyed, and multiple fires broke out.
Also on 3 July, a russian drone struck a combine harvester operating in a field near Novopetrivka in Zaporizhzhia oblast. The attack caused a fire. According to Ivan Fedorov, a 30-year-old employee of a farming enterprise was injured.
On 3 July, while restoring electricity in Kushuhum and Balabyne in Zaporizhzhia region, an energy repair crew came under threat from two russian drones. One drone was shot down by the military, while the other disappeared. According to Zaporizhzhiaoblenergo CEO Andrii Stasevskyi, despite the danger, the crew managed to restore electricity to about half of the affected consumers in the communities. Restoration work is ongoing.
Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration reported that on 2 July, russian forces carried out 880 strikes on 62 settlements across Zaporizhzhia oblast. The enemy launched one missile strike on Zaporizhzhia. russian troops also carried out 25 airstrikes on Zaporizhzhia, Zarichne, Komyshuvakha, Novomykolaivka, Liubytske, Matviivka, Tavriiske, Odarivka, Rozumivka, Novoiakovlivka, Orikhiv, Mykilske, Omelnyk, Shyroke, Yasna Poliana, Dolynka, Kopani, and Danylivka. 601 UAVs of various types, mainly FPV drones, attacked Zaporizhzhia, Vilniansk, Kushuhum, Balabyne, Novooleksandrivka, Kosivtseve, Andriianivka, Soniachne, Zelenopillia, Vysokohirne, Nyzhnia Khortytsia, Novoslobidka, Natalivka, Lysohirka, Kanivske, Rozumivka, Prydolynivka, Lukasheve, Kantserivka, Bilenke, Stepnohirsk, Prymorske, Stepove, Pavlivka, Lukianivske, Mali Shcherbaky, Zaliznychne, Shcherbaky, Novoandriivka, Novodanylivka, Mala Tokmachka, Bilohiria, Charivne, Huliaipilske, Dobropillia, Staroukrainka, Sviatopetrivka, Tsvitkove, Rybne, Novoselivka, Vozdvyzhivka, Varvarivka, Pryluky, Preobrazhenka, and Nove Zaporizhzhia. Another 253 artillery strikes hit Richne, Novoiakovlivka, Stepnohirsk, Prymorske, Stepove, Pavlivka, Lukianivske, Mali Shcherbaky, Zaliznychne, Shcherbaky, Novoandriivka, Novodanylivka, Mala Tokmachka, Bilohiria, Sviatopetrivka, Dobropillia, Huliaipilske, Staroukrainka, Pryluky, and Rybne. Authorities received 171 reports of damage to homes, vehicles, and infrastructure facilities. Eleven people, including four children, were injured as a result of russian attacks on Zaporizhzhia and the Zaporizhzhia region.
According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as of 16:00 on 3 July, Ukraine’s Defense Forces successfully repelled nine enemy attacks towards Huliaipole near Dobropillia, Vozdvyzhivka and Charivne. During the previous day, 2 July, Ukrainian forces repelled 32 russian attacks towards Huliaipole.
Today, 3 July, the temporarily occupied Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant experienced its 21st blackout since the beginning of russia’s full-scale invasion. Ukraine’s national nuclear energy company Energoatom reported that after the “Ferosplavna” power transmission line was disconnected, the plant lost its external power supply and switched to emergency diesel generators. The cause of the disconnection is currently unknown.
Mykolaiv oblast
According to the Chief Directorate of the State Emergency Service in Mykolaiv oblast, a summer house was destroyed in Vesniane community as a result of the attack. According to emergency responders, there were no fatalities or injuries.
Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration reported that on the morning of 2 July, russian forces attacked Mykolaiv with Shahed drones. Four people were injured. The attack damaged ten private houses, an enterprise building, and a vehicle. It also caused a fire in an open area, which was extinguished by emergency responders.
Later on 2 July, the enemy attacked a gas station in Kostiantynivka community with a Shahed-type UAV. A 45-year-old man was killed in the strike, while two other men were injured. The gas station building and three passenger vehicles were destroyed.
In Vesniane community, a Shahed-type strike drone attacked a farming enterprise. A 59-year-old man was injured, and a warehouse building was damaged.
In Nechaiane community, a Shahed-type UAV strike caused a fire and damaged a gas station building. There were no casualties.
In addition, the enemy attacked Kutsurub community with a Molniya-type strike drone. As a result, a private house was damaged in the village of Dmytrivka.
It is reported that russian forces also carried out eight FPV drone attacks on Ochakiv and Kutsurub communities. In addition, they struck Kutsurub community, reportedly using a multiple launch rocket system (MLRS). No casualties were reported.
Odesa oblast
Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense will conduct a comprehensive inspection of Odesa Territorial Center for Recruitment and Social Support (TCR and SS). Deputy Defense Minister Vasyl Shkurakov announced the decision during a plenary session of the Verkhovna Rada.
Over the past few days, five more dead harbor porpoises (Azov dolphins) were found along the coast of the Tuzly Lagoons National Nature Park in Odesa oblast. Since the end of May 2026, a total of 63 dolphin deaths were recorded there. According to ecologist and head of the park’s research department, Ivan Rusiev, the dolphins are likely dying due to a combination of war-related factors.
Kherson oblast
The head of Kherson Regional Military Administration, Oleksandr Prokudin, reported that at approximately 15:40 today, russian forces attacked the village of Mykilske in Kherson region. A 73-year-old woman sustained fatal injuries in the shelling.
The Health Department of Kherson RMA reported that Serhii Dmytriiev, an infectious disease physician at the emergency department of Kherson Regional Infectious Diseases Hospital, was killed in the russian shelling on 2 July.
At approximately 14:00, russian forces attacked a vehicle in Komyshany with a UAV. Two people were injured in the strike.
At around 11:10, russian forces attacked a man with a drone in Dniprovskyi district of Kherson. The 43-year-old resident, who was walking along the street, sustained an open forearm fracture, shrapnel wounds to his leg, a concussion, a blast injury, and a closed traumatic brain injury.
Kherson Regional Military Administration reported that four residents of the region sought medical assistance today for injuries sustained in previous russian attacks. A 61-year-old doctor suffered a blast injury, a concussion, and bruises to his limbs during yesterday’s shelling of a medical facility in Kherson. A 62-year-old local resident, whose vehicle was attacked by a russian drone in Komyshany yesterday afternoon, was diagnosed with a blast injury, a concussion, and an acute stress reaction. A 77-year-old woman who was injured in russian artillery shelling of Zymivnyk the previous day sustained a blast injury, a concussion, and an acute stress reaction. A 52-year-old resident of Komyshany, who came under a russian UAV attack on 30 June, sustained a blast injury, a closed traumatic brain injury, a concussion, and a brain contusion.
Kherson Regional Military Administration also reported that on 2 July, the russian firces attacked Tarasa Shevchenka, Urozhaine, Vysoke, Virivka, Tavriiske, Bilozerka, Stanislav, Sahaidachne, Novomykolaivka, Dariivka, Rakivka, Charivne, Novodmytrivka, Zymivnyk, Beryslav, Biliaivka, Novokairy, Molodizhne, Novoraisk, Krasnosilske, Borozenske, Sadove, Sofiivka, Antonivka, Komyshany, Mykilske, Posad-Pokrovske, Chornobaivka, Romashkove, Dniprovske, Veletenske, Rozlyv, Kizomys, Tomyna Balka, Burhunka, Havrylivka, Dudchany, Zorivka, Kachkarivka, Novooleksandrivka, Pryozerne, Sablukivka, Koshara, Ukrainka, Mala Oleksandrivka, and the city of Kherson. The attacks damaged three apartment buildings, 17 private houses, a medical facility, a gas station, a bank branch, an outbuilding, and private vehicles. Two people were killed and 16 others were injured as a result of the russian attacks.

A grenade was found on Zelenaya Street in Lviv. The driver of trolleybus №24 noticed the suspicious object on the roadway in time. He stopped the vehicle in front of the dangerous object and promptly evacuated the passengers. Explosives technicians examined the discovered object and determined that it was not a combat grenade, but a pyrotechnic device. The object was seized for further disposal. Investigators are investigating the circumstances of how the ammunition ended up in the middle of the road.
Rivne oblast
A few weeks ago, they arrived in Rivne oblast on an evacuation train. Most are elderly, have limited mobility, or are disabled. After comprehensive post-evacuation support from the team of the Integration Center NGO, 18 out of 34 newly arrived citizens continued their adaptation journey in temporary residences in communities of Rivne oblast. For another 16 people, we managed to find a solution according to their life circumstances: organizing nursing care, helping with employment or moving to relatives.
Ternopil oblast
The Honorary Citizen of Ternopil title was posthumously awarded to 18 defenders from the community. The decision was made at a regular meeting of the 58th session of Ternopil City Council.
Khmelnytskyi oblast
A Child Protection Center based on the Barnahus model has been opened in Khmelnytskyi oblast. This is the 17th such center in Ukraine. For children who have suffered or witnessed violence, it is very important that the help is not only professional, but also safe and humane. This is the principle on which the Barnahus model works.
