Here is operational information of the General Staff as of 4 pm:
On 1 February, there were 44 combat clashes on the frontline.
The enemy from the territory of the Russian Federation launched artillery attacks on Senkivka in Chernihiv oblast; Brusky, Rohizne, Bachivsk, Neskuchne, Kucherivka, Bezsalivka, Malushyne, Ryzhivka in Sumy oblast.
Towards Northern Sloboda and Kursk, the enemy carried out 41 attacks on settlements and positions of Ukrainian units, in particular one from a multiple launch rocket system.
Towards Southern Sloboda, the enemy attacked three times in the vicinity of the settlements of Prylipka, Vilcha and Kutkivka. Two combat clashes are ongoing.
Towards Kupiansk, the enemy did not conduct offensive operations.
Towards Lyman, Ukrainian soldiers repelled the invaders’ attack near Novoserhiivka.
Towards Slaviansk, russians tried to advance on the positions of Ukrainian troops near Zakitne. They were repulsed.
Towards Kramatorsk, the enemy did not conduct offensive operations.
Towards Kostiantynivka, the invaders carried out six offensive operations near the settlements of Kostiantynivka, Stepanivka, Yablunivka, and Sofiivka. One battle is still ongoing.
Towards Pokrovsk, russian occupiers made 17 attempts to push Ukrainian soldiers from the occupied positions in the vicinity of the settlements of Rodynske, Pokrovsk, Udachne, Novopidhorodne, Dachne, Vilne and Serhiivka. The defense forces are holding back the onslaught and repelled 15 attacks.
Towards Oleksandrivka, the aggressor attacked once near Verbove.
Towards Huliaipole, Ukrainian defenders repelled 15 attacks by the invaders near Huliaipole, Zelene, Sviatopetrivka and Zaliznychne. Five clashes are still ongoing.
Towards Orikhiv and Kherson, there were no enemy offensive actions.
There were no significant changes in the situation in other directions.
Ukrainian troops are exhausting the enemy along the entire line of combat contact and in the rear.
Recent war events in the east of Ukraine
Kharkiv oblast
On the Southern Slobozhanskyi axis, Russian forces launched three attacks toward Prylipka, Vilcha, and Kutkivka. Two engagements are ongoing, the General Staff reported.
On the Kupiansk axis, as of 16:00, no assault actions were recorded.
Over the past day, 338 combat engagements were recorded.
On the Southern Slobozhanskyi axis, the enemy attempted 25 times to break through our defensive lines in the areas of Vovchansk, Starytsia, Prylipka, and toward Hrafske, Vilcha, Vovchanski Khutory, Kolodiazne, Fyholivka, and Kutkivka.
On the Kupiansk axis, 12 enemy attacks took place yesterday. Our defenders repelled assault actions toward Petropavlivka, Pishchane, Kurylivka, Novoosynove, Novoplatonivka, and Hlushkivka.
During the day, the Russian army struck a residential area on the outskirts of Velykyi Burluk (Kupiansk district) with a UAV, according to the State Emergency Service (SES). Firefighters responded to the scene: as a result of the hit, a house caught fire, with the blaze spreading over 60 square meters.
In the Shevchenkivskyi district, an enemy UAV struck a tree near a multi-storey residential building. Window glazing in the building was damaged.
At approximately 14:50, the occupiers carried out a UAV strike on the village of Khotimlia (Chuhuiv district).
As a result of the enemy attack, two shops caught fire; one shop and two passenger cars were damaged. Three people were injured, the Kharkiv Region Police reported. A 45-year-old man sustained a leg injury and received on-site assistance. Two women, shop assistants, were taken to hospital.

According to preliminary information, an enemy UAV strike was recorded in the Nemyshlianskyi district of Kharkiv. Consequences are being уточнені.
Over the past day, Kharkiv city and five settlements in Kharkiv region came under enemy fire.
As a result of the shelling, two people were injured.
In Kivsharivka (Kupiansk community), a 60-year-old woman was injured; in Synyha (Kurylivka community), a 60-year-old woman was also injured.

- in Kupiansk district — window glazing of a multi-apartment building damaged (Kivsharivka settlement);
- in Chuhuiv district — a private house damaged (Staryi Saltiv settlement).
The transit evacuation point in Lozova received 70 people over the past day.
In total, 17,772 people have been registered at the point since it began operating.
Donetsk oblast
Over the course of January 31, police recorded 1,369 enemy strikes along the front line and against residential areas.
Seven settlements came under fire: the cities of Druzhkivka, Kramatorsk, Kostiantynivka, the settlement of Raihorodok, and the villages of Kindrativka, Maiaky, and Mykolaipillia.
As a result of the attacks, eight civilian facilities were damaged, including four residential buildings.
In Kramatorsk, Russian forces struck with a KAB-250 guided aerial bomb, damaging two homes.
Druzhkivka was attacked with Smerch multiple launch rocket systems and a Geran-2 UAV, resulting in damage to two private houses, an enterprise, and a non-residential building.
In the village of Maiaky, an enemy FPV drone damaged a vehicle.
What is happening now in the north of Ukraine
Kyiv oblast
Mayor Vitalii Klychko says that Kyiv is gradually restoring the city’s life support systems after an emergency in Ukraine’s power system. As of the evening of January 31, water supply was fully restored. Over 1,500 more high-rise buildings were connected to the heat supply at night. As of the morning of February 1, 1,000 houses remain without heating in the capital.
Starting from January 31, ten branches of Nova Poshta will operate around the clock as Points of Invincibility. They will be able to charge gadgets, provide Wi-Fi, heating, coffee or tea. In the branches, you can withdraw cash and send or receive a parcel. They will also allow you to perform medical procedures that require light, such as nebulizer procedures.
The RMA reported that in three cities of Ukraine, including the capital, the project “Let’s Return Sight to the Defenders of Ukraine” is operating. During the year and a half of this program, 2,104 combatants received recommendations from ophthalmologists and had their vision corrected.
Kyiv Water Fund reports that in Kyiv, 154 pump-room complexes can be connected to generators. Pump-rooms will be connected to generators only when there is a long-term lack of centralized water supply.
Diving classes are being held in the Kyiv region to rehabilitate wounded defenders of the Ministry of Internal Affairs system. Another training session was recently held, which was attended by six fighters. The head of the diving center, Anna Yaroshenko, reported that the equipment is adapted to the physical needs of the fighters, and during the classes, the instructors take into account the mental state of the veterans as delicately as possible. The classes are held by the Ministry of Internal Affairs together with the NGO Veteran Center for Mental Recovery and the Submarine club.
Zhytomyr oblast
The regional employment service reported that since the beginning of the year, 109 residents of Zhytomyr oblast have joined socially useful works within the framework of the Army of Restoration project in 16 territorial communities of the region. Participants are involved in weaving camouflage nets, harvesting firewood, helping low-mobility groups of the population, servicing heating points and maintaining the readiness of civil defense structures.
Sumy oblast
The State Border Guard Service of Ukraine reported that in Sumy oblast, servicemen of the 5th Border Guard Detachment destroyed two advanced russian reconnaissance UAVs of “Kniaz Veshchyi Oleh” type. This type of drone is designed for deep aerial reconnaissance and is capable of conducting photo and video surveillance at a distance of up to 40–45 kilometres from the front line.
Artem Semenikhin, Mayor of Konotop, said that on the evening of 31 January and overnight, russian forces shelled Konotop community using Shahed UAVs, including jet-powered variants. Transport infrastructure was targeted, and private houses were also damaged.
Sumy Regional Military Administration informed that in Velyka Pysarivka community, two men aged 65 and 68 were injured as a result of russian drone attacks on 31 January.
According to Acting Mayor Artem Kobzar, on 31 January, russian forces struck Sumy community. In Stetskivka starosta district, the facade of a house and a vehicle in a yard were damaged. In Zarychnyi district, a Shahed-type UAV hit the territory of a private household. In total, 27 windows in four houses were damaged, and an extension to one household was destroyed.

Over the course of the day, from the morning of 31 January to the morning of 1 February, russian forces carried out nearly 70 attacks on 27 settlements across 20 territorial communities of the oblast. The highest number of attacks was recorded in Sumy and Okhtyrka regions. The enemy used artillery, MLRS, FPV drones, UAVs, and guided aerial bombs.
Civilian infrastructure facilities were damaged or destroyed:
- In Shostka community, private residential houses were destroyed and damaged;
- In Berezivka community, a private residential house was damaged;
- In Khutir-Mykhailivka community, a civilian infrastructure facility was damaged;
- In Znob-Novhorodske community, a civilian infrastructure facility was damaged;
- In Sumy community, an apartment building, private residential houses, non-residential premises, outbuildings, civilian infrastructure facilities, and a private passenger vehicle were damaged;
- In Vorozhba community, a shop premises and a passenger vehicle were damaged;
- In Vilshanka community, a non-residential premises and a vehicle were damaged;
- In Buryn community, a non-residential premises and vehicles were damaged;
- In Verkhni Syrovatky community, a private residential house was damaged;
- In Konotop community, civilian infrastructure facilities, an administrative building, and private households were damaged;
- In Nedryhailiv community, a private residential house was damaged;
- In Kyrykivka community, a house of culture and a residential house were damaged.
Oleh Hryhorov, Head of the Regional Military Administration, announced that over the past week, 127 people evacuated from border communities in Sumy oblast. He noted that due to ongoing shelling, living conditions in these areas are severely constrained, with russian forces intensively using drones near the border and striking civilian targets, residential buildings, and transport.
Chernihiv oblast
Oleksandr Seliverstov, Head of Novhorod-Siverskyi Regional Military Administration, reported that on 1 February, a russian drone attacked a civilian vehicle in Semenivka near the border in Chernihiv oblast. The strike caused a fire, and the vehicle was destroyed.
The City Council informed that at around 4:30pm on 1 February, russian forces struck the territory of an enterprise on the north-eastern outskirts of Chernihiv. One building was damaged as a result of the attack. No casualties were reported.
Viacheslav Chaus, Head of Chernihiv Regional Military Administration, said that during the daytime on 31 January, a russian Heran-type UAV struck a rural club in Kholmyn community. The roof of the club was damaged in the attack.
According to Chernihiv Border Guard Detachment, over the course of 31 January, russian forces attacked six settlements across four border communities in Chernihiv oblast: Novhorod-Siverskyi, Semenivka, Snovsk, and Horodnia. In total, 12 FPV drone strikes were recorded.
Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine
Dnipropetrovsk oblast
According to Mykola Lukashuk, Head of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast Council, the russian army attacked Dnipro with UAVs. Two people — a man and a woman — were killed. A fire broke out at a destroyed private house. Two private houses and a vehicle were damaged.
In Marhanets, two apartment buildings, three shops, and a café were damaged. In Nikopol, four private houses, an outbuilding, a gas pipeline, a vehicle, and a power line were affected. According to updated information, another private house and an outbuilding were damaged in Pokrovske community as a result of the previous day’s attacks.
In Ternivka, russian forces attacked a service bus by a UAV. As a result of the strike, 12 people were killed and 15 injured. The bus was damaged. The enemy also attacked the regional centre, as well as Pokrovske rural, Marhanets, Myrove, and Chervonohryhorivka communities by drones and artillery. A 72-year-old man was injured. Sixteen private houses, an apartment building, four outbuildings, a greenhouse, a gas pipeline, and power lines were damaged. The russian army also struck Pokrovske community by guided aerial bombs. Five private houses and a gymnasium were damaged.

Kirovohrad oblast
In Kropyvnytskyi, a rally titled “Do Not Stay Silent! Captivity Kills” was held in support of prisoners of war and those missing in action. The aim of the event was to draw public attention and seek the support of international organisations in securing the release of captives and locating those reported missing.
Poltava oblast
In Poltava, on the anniversary of the missile strike, residents of a partially destroyed five-storey building held a Day of Remembrance to honour those killed.
Relatives, friends, and acquaintances brought flowers and candles to the site of the tragedy. Last year, on 1 February 2025, a russian missile strike claimed the lives of 15 people.
Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine
Zaporizhzhia oblast
Today, Кussian forces attacked Zaporizhzhia. As a result of one of the attacks, a maternity hospital was damaged. Six people were injured. Later, the enemy struck the city’s private residential sector. The city council reported that nearly 30 buildings were damaged, including 15 apartment buildings, 11 private houses, and three non-residential buildings. The head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, Ivan Fedorov, also said that another russian drone exploded in one of the city’s districts. A four-year-old child and two women were injured.

Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration reported that over the past day, 31 January, the occupiers carried out 383 strikes on 26 settlements in Zaporizhzhia oblast. russian forces conducted 13 airstrikes on Komyshuvakha, Shevchenkivske, Podakh, Ternuvate, Nove Pole, Zaliznychne, Verkhnia Tersa, Vozdvyzhivka, and Dolynka. 155 UAVs of various modifications, mostly FPV drones, attacked Zaporizhzhia, Chervonodniprovka, Stepnohirsk, Lukianivske, Pavlivka, Huliaipole, Zaliznychne, Novoandriivka, Novodanylivka, Mala Tokmachka, Bilohiria, Staroukrainka, Varvarivka, Dobropillia, and Solodke. Four MLRS strikes were carried out on Staroukrainka, Zelene, Tsvitkove, and Dobropillia. 211 artillery strikes hit Chervonodniprovka, Stepnohirsk, Prymorske, Lukianivske, Pavlivka, Huliaipole, Novoandriivka, Novodanylivka, Mala Tokmachka, Bilohiria, Staroukrainka, Varvarivka, Dobropillia, and Solodke. Forty-eight reports of damage to housing, vehicles, and infrastructure were received. Two people were injured as a result of enemy attacks on Zaporizhzhia region.
According to the General Staff, as of 16:00 on 1 February, Ukrainian defenders repelled 15 russian attacks in the area of Huliaipole, Zelene, Sviatopetrivka, and Zaliznychne towards Huliaipole. Five combat engagements are still ongoing. Over the past day, 31 January, russian troops attacked the positions of the Defense Forces 45 times towards Huliaipole direction.
The press service of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that on the night of 1 February, the Defense Forces struck a russian repair base of an engineering-sapper regiment unit near the settlement of Rozivka on the temporarily occupied territory of Zaporizhzhia oblast. russian losses and the extent of the damage are being clarified.
Mykolaiv oblast
Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration reported that yesterday morning, 31 January, the enemy carried out a strike, preliminarily using MLRS, on Kutsurub community. As a result, a power transmission line outside populated areas was damaged. Electricity was cut off to 888 consumers in the community, and restoration works are currently underway. There were no casualties.
Odesa oblast
Odesa Regional Military Administration reported that the Director of the Crisis Response Directorate of the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), Ms. Edem Wosornu, arrived in the region on a working visit. Together with local authorities, UN representatives inspected civilian infrastructure facilities destroyed as a result of an enemy attack on Odesa on 27 January. Special attention was given to the situation in the energy sector, issues related to ensuring the stable operation of critical infrastructure, and the organization of the educational process under conditions of ongoing hostile attacks.
Kherson oblast
Kherson Regional Military Administration reported that russian occupiers struck Tsentralnyi district of Kherson with attack drones. As a result of the latest attack, an apartment building and a shop were damaged. Earlier, the administration reported that in the morning russian forces attacked a residential area in the Tsentralnyi district of Kherson with Molniya-type drones, and during the day attack UAVs hit the roof of a multi-storey building. The building’s roof was damaged and windows in apartments were blown out.
At around 07:20, russian occupiers shelled the city center of Kherson. As a result of the enemy attack, a 59-year-old woman sustained a concussion, blast and closed craniocerebral injuries, as well as a leg injury with partial amputation.
According to the head of Kherson Regional Military Administration, Oleksandr Prokudin, over the past day, 31 January, the russian forces attacked Mylove, Bilozerka, Khreshchenivka, Beryslav, Antonivka, Dniprovske, Burhunka, Vesele, Zolota Balka, Kozatske, Mykilske, Novokairy, Tokarivka, Chervonyi Maiak, and the city of Kherson. A multi-storey building, 13 private houses, a shop, a gas pipeline, and private vehicles were damaged. As a result of russian aggression, 10 people were injured, including three children.
The ATESH movement reported that on the Arabat Spit, near Strilkove, in the temporarily occupied left bank of Kherson oblast, a transformer cabinet of a communications tower was damaged. According to the movement, electronic warfare antennas were also installed on the tower. They are currently not functioning.
Latest news for today in the western regions of Ukraine
Volyn oblast
DNA examination confirmed the killing of Mykola Sych, 43-year-old defender of Ukraine, Senior Sergeant of the 33rd Separate Mechanized Brigade. According to results of the DNA examination, Mykola was killed on 28 October, 2023 in the area of the settlement of Robotyne as a result of enemy offensive actions.
Zakarpattia oblast
Uzhhorod City Council reported that in total, since 2022, UAH 3,35m has been allocated from the community budget to the zonal department of the VSP.
Ivano-Frankivsk oblast
In the Carpathian region, military personnel, veterans and relatives of fallen Heroes can receive free dental services. A total of 15 medical institutions have concluded contracts with the National Health Service of Ukraine (NHSU) and provide such services to the Defenders. In particular, dental prosthetics services were provided in 7 medical institutions. About 2,000 military personnel received them.
Lviv oblast
In Chernihiv Gymnasium, the teaching staff and students organized and held a charity fair Buy Goodies – Help the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Thanks to joint efforts, they managed to raise UAH 20,000.
A charity fair was held in the Gymnasium of the village of Voshchantsi to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine. UAH 7,200 was raised and transferred to Rudkivsk City Council. These funds will be used for the needs of the military.
Rivne oblast
1028 times the air raid alert has sounded in Rivne oblast since the beginning of the war. Summing up January, we have 35 alerts (December – 16); the longest – 1 January (lasting 7 h 36 min); the maximum silence regime – 2 days (occurred 5 times).
Ternopil oblast
Ternopil City Territorial Community budget has allocated UAH 9,998,774 to provide financial assistance to owners (one of the co-owners) of residential apartments destroyed as a result of the russian attack. Financial support will be provided to owners of 50 apartments on Vasyl Stus Street, in proportion to the size of the destroyed housing.
Khmelnytskyi oblast
Representatives of UNICEF in Ukraine paid a working visit to Khmelnytskyi oblast. They discussed the implementation of joint projects in the field of children’s rights protection, the development of family forms of upbringing, and support for social services and communities in the oblast.
Chernivtsi oblast
In Chernivtsi, 22 Invincibility Points are switched to a 24-hour work mode due to worsening weather conditions, a drop in air temperature, and long power outages. Other Points continue to work in the usual mode – according to the schedules of the institutions on the basis of which they operate.
International support of Ukraine in the russian-Ukrainian war (russia’s invasion of Ukraine)
