The Ukrainian troops prevent the enemy from taking control over the Bakhmut-Severodonetsk highway. They also maintain control in Severodonetsk. Russian troops continue to attack Sloviansk. In the Kharkiv direction, the occupiers are actively defending. Russia has focused its efforts on capturing Severodonetsk in Luhansk Oblast, while trying to block Ukrainian Armed Forces units near Lysychansk.

Ukraine briefly:

In the Donetsk direction, the enemy’s main efforts are focused on trying to establish full control over the city of Severodonetsk and blockade Ukrainian troops in the Lysychansk area. Ukrainian soldiers thwart the enemy’s attempts to take control of the Bakhmut-Severodonetsk highway.

In the Sloviansk direction, the enemy is preparing to resume assault operations to improve its tactical position. The enemy trains personnel in the territory of the russian federation to replenish losses of troops.

Ukrainian troops successfully repelled the enemy assault towards Dovhenke. The enemy suffered losses and retreated.

Towards Bakhmut, the enemy is bombarding the area of the settlements of Berestov, Fedorovka and Myronivka with various artillery. There was an air strike caused by Ka-52 helicopters near Rot.

To find out the advance routes and clarify the positions of Ukrainian troops, the enemy uses sabotage and reconnaissance groups operating in the area of ​​Belogorovka.

In the Slobozhansky direction, the enemy continues to fight in the border areas north of the city of Kharkiv.

The enemy repair units are working to restore the destroyed railway bridge over the Oskil River near the Kupiansk-Vuzlovy railway station.

Towards Kharkiv, the enemy is continuing  defensive actions. The purpose is to hold back the Defense Forces advance to the state border and to maintain control over the Belgorod-Kupiansk highway. The enemy remotely mined the area of Shestakove, Peremoha and Bayrak.

In the Novopavlovske and Zaporizhzhia directions, the enemy did not wage active hostilities. He carried out artillery shelling in the area of Bogoyavlenka, Volodymyrivka, Malynivka and Shcherbakiv.

In the Zaporizhzhia direction the enemy reinforced its troops with the battalion tactical group.

In the South Buh direction, the enemy is concentrating its efforts on maintaining the occupied frontiers and preparing for intensification of hostilities.

In the Volyn and Polissia directions, the enemy did not take active actions.

In the Siversk direction the enemy keeps several units of the 20th All-Military Army of the Western Military District in the border areas of Bryansk and Kursk regions. Also there are enemy artillery units in the Bryansk oblast around  the state border with Ukraine.

It is journalist day today. In the 103 days since the start of the full-scale invasion, russia has killed 32 media people. 8 of them died in the line of duty.

Several russian Armed Forces units keep a presence along the state border of Ukraine on the territory of Belarus. They are armed with short-range ballistic missile systems “Iskander-M”, anti-aircraft guns “Pantsir-C1”, anti-aircraft missile systems S-400, operative and tactical aviation.

More than 1.5 billion hryvnias were raised in four weeks on the online platform UNITED24 in support of Ukraine.

 On June 8, housing restoration information centers will open in Makarov, Borodyanka, and Dymer, Kyiv Oblast. Experts of the territorial community and Kyiv military administration consult residents of the settlements.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Western politicians and the media were beginning to push Ukraine to end the war with the unfavorable and unbeneficial outcome for Ukraine. Zelenskyy reassured that he was not holding such talks with anyone.

The British government (including police and lawyers) will assist Ukraine in investigating crimes committed by russian troops.

The United States is giving $ 50 million in rescue equipment to Ukrainian law enforcement and border guards.

Ukraine is not currently considering any alternative to joining the European Union. An agreement with the United Kingdom on an additional defense union cannot be an alternative to the EU.

Eastern regions

Kharkiv oblast

The enemy is on the defensive trying to maintain control over the Belgorod-Kupyansk highway. In the areas of Shestakove, Peremoha and Bayrak settlements the area was mined. Fighting continues in the border areas northwards of Kharkiv.

The russian army is renovating the bridge near Kupyansk and remotely mines the roads towards Vovchansk, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces. The satellite recorded the construction of a pontoon bridge crossing by the russian occupiers near the village of Kupyansk-Vuzlovy. This direction leads to the regional highway R-79, which runs from the russian border towards the occupied city of Izium.

The Ukrainian army repelled the assault near the village of Dovhenke. The russian occupiers inflicted losses. The enemy retreated.

According to the head of the Zolochiv community, the russian army struck the village of Odnorobivka on the night of June 6. A five-apartment house was damaged, no one was injured.

According to the Lozova Mayor Serhiy Zelenskyy, on the night of June 6, the russian military launched a missile strike on the critical infrastructure in the Lozova community. The shelling damaged two schools, three kindergartens, high-rise buildings and dormitories where displaced people lived. 

“Kraken” has announced the recruitment of crews for HIMARS and MLRS.

After the liberation of the village of Mala Rohan, victims’ relatives appealed to law enforcement agencies to help rebury their loved ones properly.

Volunteers involved in the evacuation process said that about 1 400 people were evacuated from the temporarily occupied territories of Kharkiv oblast. Residents of Kupiansk, Velykoburlutsk, Vovchansk, Izium and other communities were able to leave for the territories controlled by Ukraine. 

Donetsk oblast 

Unfortunately, measures to restore the combat capability of the occupying forces continue. At some ranges, combat operations were coordinated with enemy motorized infantry and tank units, supplemented by mobilized troops.

The occupiers are preparing to resume assault operations to improve the tactical situation. To make up for the losses suffered by a group of troops, the enemy is training personnel in the russian federation.

Today, the enemy fired mortars and artillery at our units in the Tetyanivka and Pyskunivka districts in order to destroy the fortifications. They launched a missile strike on Mykolaivka.

The Defense Ministry spokesman Oleksandr Motuzyanyk said at a briefing that the Ukrainian military repelled the enemy’s assault in the direction of Novookhtyrka and Voronovo. Ukrainian troops repulsed russian forces in the Sloviansk direction. After the regrouping, the russians advanced in the directions of Velyka Komyshuvakha, Vernopil, Dibrivny, Dolyna, and Bohorodychny, but the Armed Forces repulsed the attack.

Mariupol mayor councilor Petro Andriuschenko reported at a telethon that the occupiers are quarantining Mariupol due to the risk of cholera spreading. 

More than 2 500 Ukrainian soldiers were taken from Azovstal to russian-controlled territory. Volodymyr Zelenskyy told journalists about it, RBC-Ukraine reports. According to the President, it is “unprofitable” for the russian side to torture Azovstal defenders because they have become “public prisoners.”

Russia also returned dozens of bodies of Azovstal fighters and transported them to Kyiv. Dozens of bodies, taken from the territory of the plant, constantly bombarded by the enemy, were brought to Kyiv. DNA analysis is currently underway to identify the remains. The brother of one of the defenders, who went missing during the defense of the plant, said that at least two trucks with bodies arrived at the military hospital of the Ukrainian capital for identification.

No more than 24K people remained in Sloviansk, the rest were evacuated. People continue to travel to safer regions.

On June 6, the russians killed four civilians in Donetsk: 2 in New York, 1 in Chasov Yar and 1 in Pisky, 7 people were injured. Today, we managed to clarify the information about 1 dead in Lyman and 2 wounded in Lyman community. In addition, 4 civilians were injured in Kostiantynivka in Luhansk oblast.

Luhansk oblast

Today, the villages of the communities of the region were affected the most: the liberated Metiolkin, Borivsky, Ustynivka, Toshkivka and others. The enemy also fired missiles at Lysychansk and Orikhovo.

The enemy’s main efforts are focused on trying to establish full control over the city of Severodonetsk and block our troops in the area of ​​Lysychansk. Our soldiers are thwarting the enemy’s attempts to take control of the Bakhmut-Severodonetsk highway. As of June 6, Oleksandr Striuk spoke about the situation in the city. According to him, the situation changes every hour, the russians dominate in manpower, Severodonetsk did not surrender in one or two days, so it is levelled out.

Yesterday, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy visited Luhansk oblast. He visited command posts and advanced positions of Ukrainian troops in the Lysychansk area. He brought “something” special to the military.

Northern regions

The enemy continues to maintain increased border security along the Ukrainian-russian border in Bryansk and Kursk oblasts. To demonstrate their presence in the border areas, individual enemy units are operating by shelling civilian infrastructure in Chernihiv and Sumy oblasts of Ukraine.

Kyiv oblast

As a result of yesterday’s missile strike, three workshops were completely destroyed at the Darnytsia Auto Repair Plant. However, the plant is planning to resume its operation.

The Ukrainian Railway has allowed journalists on the territory to confirm there is no military equipment in the facility. 

The specialists are working at the scene.

The State Emergency Service inspected and documented the consequences of fires caused by combat operations. People are returning to their homes in Irpin and the villages that were under occupation. They are cleaning their yards and planting vegetables.

The State Emergency Service specialists of Bila Tserkva district once again inspected and documented the aftermath of fires caused by combat operations. A total of 150 citizen requests were processed. The work continues.

State Emergency Service of Kyiv oblast reported on their units’ involvement in the clearing and removal of explosive objects in the liberated settlements and territories as of June 6, 2022.

Since June 6, 80 preschool institutions are already working full-time in Kyiv oblast, with 2977 children enrolled. These include 59 public and 21 private preschool institutions. Only kindergartens located near bomb shelters have resumed their work.

Zhytomyr oblast

The First Deputy Speaker of the Estonian parliament paid a working visit to Zhytomyr oblast. Hanno Pevkur together with his Ukrainian colleague Oleksandr Kornienko inspected destruction in one of the towns of Zhytomyr oblast. The Estonian parliamentarian noted that it is very important for his country to support Ukraine, and they will definitely help in the oblast restoration.

For five months, the police EOD units have disposed of more than 1 200 dangerous munitions in Zhytomyr oblast.

Last week, the Zhytomyr Humanitarian Hub, with the support of the Zhytomyr Regional Military Administration, handed over 1K first-aid kits to our Airborne Assault Troops, already deployed to the front lines where they are engaged in the fiercest battles. And today, together with the Airborne Assault Troops command, volunteers handed over 600 night vision devices to the paratroopers.

Zhytomyr hospitals received intensive care beds and respiratory equipment from the Zhytomyr Community Foundation.

Chernihiv oblast

Viacheslav Chaus, the Head of Chernihiv Regional Military Administration, gives an update on what is going on in Chernihiv oblast despite the war:

Border settlements in the oblast are shelled with mortar and artillery fire on a daily basis. Work on strengthening the defensive positions continues in Chernihiv oblast. The shelters are being inspected and prepared.

In 5 months, the regional budget is executed up to 79% of the plan. The situation is improving in most communities.

40% of Chernihiv enterprises and companies have resumed their operation, although not at full capacity.

The support projects for Administrative Service Centers have been resumed.

In the neighborhood of Bobrovitsa, 600 more clients still need to be connected to a stable power supply. In Nizhyn and Chernihiv regions, more than a thousand households are waiting for the gas supply to be restored. The work continues. The mobile providers’ network on the territory of the oblast has been almost completely restored.

The sowing season is coming to an end in a scope dictated by war.

The operational condition of roads is being restored and maintained. The registration of damaged facilities continues. There are 4500 of them so far.

According to the State Emergency Service, as of the morning of June 6, a total of 2677 explosive objects have been recovered in Chernihiv oblast since the war broke out. Demining of the oblast continues.

Sumy oblast

After 9 a.m., the enemy opened mortar fire from the russian territory launching around 4 shells on the Velyka Pysarivka community.

After 2 p.m., the enemy fired mortars from their territory on Shalyhine community. There were around 30 strikes.

An enemy UAV dropped an improvised explosive device, then continued shelling the territory of Velyka Pysarivka again (10 strikes). There were no human casualties or damage to the infrastructure.

The Security Service of Ukraine has detected the residents of Dnipropetrovsk oblast who created a scheme to sell 60 million hryvnia worth of “humanitarian aid” from abroad. The cost of the goods was tripled at the very least not to pay customs fees in Ukraine, the perpetrators imported products under the guise of charity. This allowed them to evade taxes to the amount of about 20 million hryvnias.

Sumy oblast received 700 tons of humanitarian aid from the UN High Commissioner for Refugees in Ukraine. The humanitarian aid includes tarpaulins, canisters, mattresses, blankets, pillows, solar lamps, and kitchen utensils.

Central regions

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

“On June 6, russian troops shelled Zelenodolsk community, Dnipropetrovsk oblast”, informed the State Emergency Service of Ukraine. Russian shelling hit the house  in the village Maryansk. There are no victims. Rescuers extinguished the fire on the area of 130 square metres.

During a week, power supply systems were restored in 20 settlements, which were cut off due to hostilities in the Dnipropetrovsk oblast. As of June 6, all electricity supply distorted by shelling was restored. 

Criminal investigation of russian shelling in the Kryvyi Rih district was opened. On June 5, russian invaders fired artillery at villages Mala Kostroma and Velyka Kostroma. About 10 houses and the village library were damaged.

One of the car services in Dnipro prepare cars for the front. Repairs are free of charge. Volunteers help with spare parts. Since the start of the full-scale war, dozens of cars  have been repaired.

Cherkasy oblast

Humanitarian aid was delivered in Cherkasy oblast from the Partner State of Iowa (USA). Tomorrow, more than 20 tons of 30 pallets of dry food will be handed over to our defenders. Iowa State has been the twin region with Cherkasy oblast since 1996 within the signed twin region agreement.

There are no major changes in other regions of Central Ukraine.

Southern regions

Zaporizhzhia oblast

Active military action continues in Zaporizhzhia oblast. The region is divided into three categories. The part is occupied, part is under Ukrainian control and part is on the contact line.

Over the past 24 hours, towards Zaporizhzhia, soldiers inflicted losses to russian troops, destroyed 3 tanks, 4 armoured combat vehicles and 4 vehicles, 11 russian personnel (27 wounded). Ukrainian soldiers destroyed a russian Su-25 aircraft near Orikhiv city.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy visited Zaporizhzhia yesterday. During his visit, Zelenskyy was at the forefront of Ukrainian troops, where he learned about the situation on the front line of defence. He also presented awards and valuable gifts to Ukrainian fighters. The president also spoke to displaced people from Mariupol.

As of 6 June, 37 213 customers in 89 settlements of Zaporizhzhia oblast do not have power supply due to damage to power lines, poles and equipment. Specifically, a high-voltage power line was damaged and 4 substations of the Orikhiv power network were extinguished as a result of shelling by russian occupation troops. More than 15K homes of residents were de-energized.

6 people were injured as a result of the armed attack on Huliaipole. The police received 7 reports of the consequences of the shelling. Apartment buildings and private houses, garages and other local infrastructure were damaged.

In the temporarily occupied Energodar city, representatives of the self-proclaimed authorities are trying to organize the educational process in their own way and induce local workers to collaborate. According to city mayor Dmytro Orlov, school and kindergarten staff are massively refusing such unlawful interaction.

Mykolaiv oblast

Overnight, one of Mykolaiv‘s regions was shelled by a multiple rocket launcher. A private residential building was damaged. There were no casualties. Once again residential areas of Mykolaiv were shelled with Pion-type large-calibre gun artillery. Private buildings and cars were damaged. There were casualties. The information is being verified

Last week, on June 5, 7 fires occurred in Mykolaiv oblast, 5 of them as a result of military actions. All the fires occurred on the territory of Mykolaiv region.

The officials of Mykolaiv and the region held an online meeting with the Marshal of the West Pomeranian Voivodeship of the Republic of Poland. The parties discussed further cooperation, in particular rehabilitation of the regional critical infrastructure, which suffered considerable damage as a result of the war, and development of technology, port infrastructure and shipbuilding. They also discussed the issue of obtaining aid for Ukrainian soldiers, in particular by providing them with vehicles. 

The regular humanitarian cargo from UNICEF, the United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund, arrived in Mykolaiv oblast. This time a 300-litre water tank, special sanitary kits for the medical care of the sick as well as biscuits for children were delivered to the region.

Odesa oblast

According to British intelligence, russian troops may have installed a Tor all-weather tactical antiaircraft missile system and a land-based Pantsyr S1 anti aircraft missile and rocket launcher system on Zmiinyy Island, Odesa oblast. The russians need these weapons to protect their ships in the Black Sea.

Counter-sabotage operations continue in Odesa oblast to protect military and civilian facilities from attack, identify, neutralize sabotage groups and practise other tasks. For instance, 6 people who may be involved in cooperation with the russians were detained in Odesa.

The risk of tactical landing forces and sabotage and reconnaissance groups landing on the Odesa coast remains, especially in favourable weather conditions during the summer.

The enemy navy continues to blockade shipping in the northwestern part of the Black Sea. 2 missile ships and a submarine, loaded with 20 Kalibr cruise missiles, are on standby to attack.

From 7 to 14 June, military training sessions will be held in the Bolhrad region.

Kherson oblast

Hostilities continue on the border of Mykolaiv and Kherson oblasts and in Beryslav Raion, Kherson oblast. The enemy wants to regain lost positions and shells villages. The situation is critical in Kalynivka and Velykooleksandrivska communities.

In 3 settlements in Kherson, the Armed Forces of Ukraine units destroyed 3 russian army ammunition field depots.

The russian navy managed to withdraw more than 100 km from the Ukrainian coast. Therefore, in an attempt to regain control over the northwestern part of the Black Sea, russia has changed tactics: deployed Bal and Bastion coastal missile systems in Crimea and Kherson oblast, and sent additional forces to Zmiinyy (Snake) Island.

To hold back our forces from the sea, the enemy is mining the coast. As a result of this, particularly in Lazurne, 3 residents blew up on a Russian mine. All of them died.

The situation in the temporarily occupied Kherson oblast remains difficult. Currently, there is no mobile communication and partially no Internet connection in the temporarily occupied area. The work is underway to re-establish mobile communications and internet access by Ukrainian operators. Communications were restored with some communities. According to preliminary information, the humanitarian situation in the communities has changed little.

In the Kherson Regional Mykola Kulish Academic Music and Drama Theatre, Honoured Artist of Ukraine Yevhen Hamaiunov was dismissed for collaborating with the so-called authorities.

Western regions

Volyn

The regional budget on the revenues of the general fund exceeded the plan by 116.3%. UAH 66.0 million were received. In January-May, the general fund of local budgets of Volyn oblast received UAH 2 billion 924.4 million its own revenues, or 111.4% to the indicators approved by local councils for the reporting period.

Over the past weekend, almost a hundred people were admitted and provided with everything they needed. During the full-scale war, 67 813 forced-evacuated Ukrainians found refuge in Volyn.

Volyn oblast continues to help the Armed Forces. Torchyn Lyceum prepares food for the Ukrainian military every day. Twice a week, the prepared goods are delivered by local volunteers to the military units where the inquiries come from.

In the center of Lutsk, the staff of the Igor Stravinsky College of Culture and Arts organized a street charity concert. The organizers managed to raise more than UAH 8K.

Zakarpattia

A batch of medicines from Uzbekistan worth more than $1 million has arrived in Zakarpattia. The humanitarian aid includes antibiotics and vitamins, a total of 12 items.

A charity fair was held in Uzhhorod, where almost UAH 53K were raised. Volunteers offered for sale branded items, books, accessories, jewelry, candles, decor. In addition, there was an opportunity to purchase one of the services: arrange a photo shoot, sports with a coach, English and dance lessons. The funds raised were transferred to the Return Alive Foundation

 Lviv

There were no air alarm notifications in Lviv oblast last night. More than 15K people crossed the border to leave. 54 people from other oblasts, where hostilities continue, were welcomed and resettled in the oblast.

Rehabilitation for displaced children is being conducted at the Dzherelo Center in Lviv. Currently, 10 students are being rehabilitated there. The center also employs people who have found refuge in Lviv from the war.

This year, in Yavoriv district the projected area of ​​spring crops reaches almost 20K hectares, which is 5K hectares more than in 2021. Sowing of late grain and industrial crops – 14 700 hectares, which is 4.5K hectares more than last year. Local farmers complete sowing.

On June 5, on the occasion of the end of the school year, a charity fair “With faith in victory!” was organized in the Koziv Lyceum of Stryy district. The children personally made sweets and decorations, for the sale of which they collected more than UAH 12K.

Rivne

In Rivne oblast, 52 840 migrants have already found shelter. 34 newcomers have been registered in the last 24 hours. Oblast is ready to accept more than 20K people.

As part of the Local Agro Woman: 4 Community project, which is funded by the Ukrainian Women’s Fund, residents of Rivne oblast will receive more than 2K chickens. The project involved both IDPs – families and local residents. A total of 210 families.

Khmelnytskyi

The Khmelnytskyi community has more than 20 enterprises, most of which are from Kharkiv, Sumy and Donetsk oblasts. Most of the relocated business wants to establish in the region.

Chernivtsi

During the weekend, about 5K people visited a field of peonies, which opened over the weekend. They managed to collect UAH 160K. The money will be donated to the army and people affected by the war.

A field team of psychologists has started working in Bukovyna to help IDPs and provide consultations. Psychologists meet different challenges. They conduct individual and group classes with people of different ages.
