Since the beginning of the day, the aggressor has launched 38 attacks on the positions of the Defense Forces.
Artillery shelling of border areas continues. Today in the Sumy region, the settlements of Novovasylivka, Korenok, Bachivsk, Ryzhivka, Tovstodubove, Budky, Ulanove, Bezsalivka, and Kharkivka came under fire.
In the North-Slobozhanskyi and Kursk directions, the enemy carried out 29 attacks on settlements and the positions of our troops, three of them using multiple launch rocket systems.
In the South-Slobozhanskyi direction, the enemy launched three assaults on the positions of our units near the settlements of Vovchansk and Krasne Pershe.
In the Kupiansk, Kramatorsk, Oleksandrivsk, and Prydniprovsk directions, the enemy did not conduct offensive operations today.
In the Lyman direction, the enemy launched seven assaults today near the settlements of Lyman, Drobysheve, Zarichne, and Ozerne. One engagement is still ongoing.
In the Sloviansk direction, the Defense Forces successfully repelled one attempt by the invaders to advance near Riznykivka.
In the Kostiantynivka direction, the invaders carried out eight attacks near the settlements of Pleshchiivka, Kostiantynivka, Illinivka, and Kucheriv Yar. Two engagements are ongoing.
In the Pokrovsk direction, since the beginning of the day, the occupiers have made 12 attempts to push our troops from their positions near the settlements of Rodynske, Novooleksandrivka, Hryshyne, Kotlyne, Udachne, Muravka, Novopidhorodne, Molodetske, and in the direction of Novopavlivka. Four engagements are still underway.
In the Huliaipole direction, the Defense Forces successfully repelled five enemy attacks toward the settlements of Dobropillia, Staroukrainka, and Zaliznychne.
In the Orikhiv direction, the enemy attacked twice near Stepnohirsk.
No significant changes in the situation have been recorded in other directions at this time. No enemy attempts to advance have been observed.
Ukraine continues to build the infrastructure of national resistance even in the face of full-scale Muscovite aggression. The system is already proving its effectiveness, allowing for faster decision-making and increased coordination in response to threats. Key changes in the system: thanks to new legislative decisions, the position of deputy head for defense is being introduced in local administrations; these positions will be held by current military personnel, who will be seconded by the Minister of Defense of Ukraine; a significant increase in interaction between the civilian and military sectors is expected.
Yevhen Pikalov, Deputy Minister of Justice, announced that over 12,000 convicts have joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine. About 1,500 applications are considered each month. The average age of candidates is 30-35 years. The program mainly admits persons convicted of minor crimes. At the same time, those who have committed serious violent crimes or crimes against national security cannot participate.

Kharkiv oblast
Frontline
As of 16:00, in the South-Slobozhanskyi direction, Russian forces launched three assaults on the positions of the Defense Forces near Vovchansk and Krasne Pershe. No offensive actions by the Russian army were recorded in the Kupiansk direction, the General Staff reported.
Over the past 24 hours, 180 combat engagements were recorded, the Regional Military Administration reported.
In the South-Slobozhanskyi direction, the enemy carried out 15 assaults on the positions of our units near the settlements of Zelene, Vovchansk, Ternova, Starytsia, Petro-Ivanivka, Myrove, Symynivka, Prylipka, Lyman, and Krasne Pershe.
In the Kupiansk direction, our defenders repelled three enemy attacks near Kurylivka and Kivsharivka.
Over the past week, 1,272 combat engagements took place along the frontline.
Shelling
The House of Culture in Zolochiv, Kharkiv region, was damaged during a Russian drone attack on the morning of May 11, according to the institution’s director, Serhii Slipchenko. The building had previously been damaged by Russian strikes, but the destruction caused by the morning attack on May 11 is the most severe since the start of the full-scale invasion.

In the Osnovianskyi district of Kharkiv, a Russian drone struck the yard of a private house but failed to detonate, Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov reported. Explosive ordnance specialists worked at the scene.
In the Vovchansk community, a man found a drone on the roadside. When he approached it, the UAV exploded. He was hospitalized with a concussion and injuries to his chest and lower leg, according to Kharkiv region police.
At around 06:00, Russian FPV drones attacked Petrivka in the Zolochiv community. One of the strikes hit a minibus, but no one was injured, said Viktor Kovalenko, head of the Zolochiv Settlement Military Administration.
Over the past 24 hours, Kharkiv and seven settlements in the region came under enemy attack. Five people were injured as a result of the shelling, the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration reported.
A 29-year-old woman was injured in Zolochiv; a 67-year-old man in Kivsharivka of the Kupiansk community; a 74-year-old man in Slatyne of the Derhachi community; a 22-year-old man on the highway near Yurchenkove in the Vovchansk community; and a 53-year-old woman in Khatnie of the Velykyi Burluk community. Doctors also provided assistance to a 66-year-old man who had been injured in Yaremivka of the Izium community on May 7.
Russian forces attacked Kyivskyi district of Kharkiv with UAVs. During the day, the Russian army used six Molniya-type UAVs, seven FPV drones, and seven drones of an unidentified type against the Kharkiv region, according to the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration.
In Kharkiv, a private house was damaged. In Bohodukhiv, Izium, Kharkiv, and Chuhuiv districts, private homes, shops, outbuildings, power lines, a warehouse, a pharmacy, cars, and a moped were damaged.
Over the past week in Kharkiv region, two tractor drivers were injured by explosive devices while working in fields, and another man was wounded in his own garden by an explosion. In addition, Russian strikes on the city and the region left 100 people injured or suffering acute stress reactions, while 12 people were killed.
Over the past week, 20 Russian strikes were recorded in Kharkiv, Mayor Ihor Terekhov said. Russian forces attacked the city with Shahed and Molniya-type UAVs, FPV drones, and missiles. Twenty-one people required medical assistance. Private homes, apartment buildings, garages, vehicles, kiosks, road infrastructure, contact lines, municipal facilities, railway property, civilian enterprises, educational institutions, drainage systems, and power networks were damaged.
Over the past week, 68 settlements in Kharkiv region, including Kharkiv city, came under enemy attack, according to the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration. Ninety-four people were injured, including 11 children. Eleven people were killed, and one additional person was injured by the explosion of an unidentified device.
During the week, Russian forces used 11 missiles, six guided aerial bombs, 39 Geran-2 UAVs, 39 Molniya-type UAVs, six Lancet UAVs, 36 FPV drones, and 157 drones of unidentified type against the Kharkiv region.
The greatest damage to civilian infrastructure was recorded in Kharkiv and Bohodukhiv districts. In Kharkiv, two apartment buildings, 15 private houses, a civilian enterprise, railway infrastructure, three garages, one kiosk, and five vehicles were damaged over the week. State Emergency Service units extinguished 19 fires caused by shelling, while explosive ordnance specialists neutralized 812 explosive objects.
Other
The transit evacuation center in Lozova received 125 people over the past 24 hours. Since the center began operating, 33,387 people have been registered there, according to the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration.
Due to the worsening security situation, the zone of mandatory evacuation may be expanded in the Bohodukhiv community, Bohodukhiv Mayor Volodymyr Bielyi said. If approved, the evacuation could include six more settlements where 816 people live, including 110 children. In the most dangerous areas, residents are being evacuated by the White Angel police unit.
World Central Kitchen has been operating in Kharkiv region since 2022 and is now primarily focused on providing hot meals for displaced people in shelters in Kharkiv. The organization prepares more than 600 meals every day, works without days off, supplies transit points, children from Kupiansk district studying in shelters, and people whose homes were damaged by Russian strikes. In frontline and border communities, the organization also provides food and vegetable packages, seeds, and small greenhouses.
Donetsk oblast
Shelling
Russian forces attacked 11 settlements in the Donetsk region, injuring four people, according to the Donetsk regional police. Druzhkivka, Kramatorsk, Kostiantynivka, Sloviansk, Bilenke, Malotaranivka, Oleksiievo-Druzhkivka, Kindrativka, Maiaky, Sofiino-Lyman, and Spasko-Mykhailivka came under fire. Nineteen civilian objects were damaged, including nine residential houses.
Russian forces struck Sloviansk with drones. One civilian was injured, and two private houses were damaged.
In Oleksiievo-Druzhkivka, one person was injured in an FPV drone attack, while in Kindrativka two civilians were wounded.
In Druzhkivka, an apartment building and three private houses were damaged by FPV drone strikes. In Kramatorsk, a private house and a civilian vehicle were damaged.
In Maiaky, Russian shelling damaged a private house and a vehicle; in Bilenke, a house and a non-residential building were damaged; and in Malotaranivka, a civilian vehicle was damaged. In Spasko-Mykhailivka, an FPV drone strike damaged agricultural equipment.
Police evacuated 25 civilians from Mykolaivka. Most roads leading to the town are under Russian fire control, so the White Angel crews carefully select routes to reach residents and evacuate them from the danger zone. Patrol officers and community police officers also took part in the evacuation.
The evacuation of monuments has begun in Kramatorsk. The city administration is currently dismantling and preparing to move three monuments to a safer region, according to the Kramatorsk City Military Administration.
Luhansk oblast
In the Lyman direction, Russian forces carried out 13 attacks near five settlements over the past 24 hours, according to the head of the Luhansk Regional Military Administration, Oleksii Kharchenko. In the territory of the Luhansk Oblast, the occupiers used 14 UAVs and also carried out strikes with tube artillery, mortars, and automatic grenade launchers.
In the so-called “LNR,” teachers at educational institutions are expected to be sent to the front line from June 2026 under the pilot project “Pedagogical Front,” Oleksii Kharchenko said. The occupation “ministry” explained the move by citing the “current situation” in Russia.
Occupied Luhansk region continues to face a critical shortage of notaries in cities seized in 2022. In Sievierodonetsk, appointments with a notary in May have already been booked through mid-October — five months in advance, according to Oleksii Kharchenko.
What is happening now in the north of Ukraine
Kyiv oblast
German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius arrived in Kyiv on an unannounced visit. The purpose of his trip is to hold talks on expanding defense cooperation, German media reported. Particular attention will be given to the joint development of advanced unmanned weapons systems of various ranges.
The Kyiv Regional Center for National Resistance Training is inviting residents of Bila Tserkva to a one-day training course scheduled for May 24. The training will be conducted by instructors with real combat experience and state certification approved by the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine. All interested participants aged 18 and over are eligible to join.
Three veteran athletes from Kyiv Oblast won gold and bronze medals at the OLD SCHOOL STRONGMAN European Championship, according to the regional military administration. As a result of the championship, the Ukrainian team secured first place in the overall team standings.
In the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone, rescuers helped a young moose that had become entangled in an anti-drone net and could not free itself, according to the Chernobyl Radiation and Ecological Biosphere Reserve. Rescuers from the 11th State Fire and Rescue Unit of Chornobyl arrived to assist. After being freed, the calf immediately ran back to its mother, who had remained nearby the entire time and did not leave her young.
Zhytomyr oblast
As of May 11, forest fires covering nearly 250 hectares had been extinguished in two forestry districts of Zhytomyr Oblast. Firefighters battled the flames for four consecutive days, according to the Capital Forest Office of Forests of Ukraine.
Explosive ordnance disposal specialists from the State Emergency Service of Ukraine were also involved in the operation. They had to clear and deminе certain areas so that firefighters could continue extinguishing the fires.
Drones were deployed to assess the area affected by the fires and to determine the exact situation on the ground.
Sumy oblast
Serhii Kryvosheienko, Head of Sumy City Military Administration, reported that on the evening of 10 May, a russian drone hit a truck in Kovpakivskyi district of Sumy. Civilian vehicles were damaged — the truck and a minibus parked nearby. According to preliminary information, there were no injuries.
Over the day, from the morning of 10 May to the morning of 11 May, russian troops carried out more than 10 attacks on eight settlements in seven territorial communities of Sumy oblast. Most attacks were recorded in Sumy region. The enemy used mortars, artillery, MLRS, FPV drones and UAVs. Over the day, the air-raid alert in the oblast lasted 8 hours and 36 minutes.
Civilian infrastructure facilities were damaged and destroyed:
- In Bilopillia community, a car and window glazing in a private house were damaged;
- In Velyka Pysarivka community, private residential houses were damaged;
- In Sumy community, a truck, passenger cars, a non-residential premises and a fence were damaged;
- In Trostianets community, a private residential house was damaged;
- In Seredyna-Buda community, as a result of earlier shelling, a private residential house and outbuildings were damaged;
- In Esman community, as a result of earlier shelling, private residential houses and outbuildings were destroyed.
Chernihiv oblast
Viacheslav Chaus, Head of Chernihiv Regional Military Administration, reported that over the week, from 4 to 10 May, Air Defence Forces managed to neutralise 89 russian attack drones in Chernihiv oblast. These were drones shot down and suppressed by electronic warfare systems.
The Northern Forest Office branch of State Enterprise Forests of Ukraine informed that the area of a forest fire in the border area of Koriukivka region has increased to 5,800 hectares. It has still not been contained because the area is inaccessible. The fire broke out on 5 May as a result of attacks by russia on the territory of three forestry units — Yelynske, Tykhonovytske and Pereliubske.
Viacheslav Chaus, Head of Chernihiv Regional Military Administration, said that that in the afternoon of 10 May, a 47-year-old woman was injured in an FPV drone strike on Semenivka while she was driving a car. She is in hospital. Two cars were damaged. According to him, over the past day the enemy also hit a communications facility in the border area.
According to Chernihiv Border Detachment, on 10 May, russian forces attacked three border communities of Chernihiv oblast over the day: Novhorod-Siverskyi, Semenivka and Horodnia. The enemy carried out one Molniia-type UAV strike and nine FPV drone strikes. Four settlements came under enemy fire.
Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine
Dnipropetrovsk oblast
Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration reported that four people were injured in Dnipropetrovsk oblast due to enemy shelling over the day on 11 May, as of 6:30pm. russian forces attacked two districts of the oblast by drones.
In Nikopol region, Myrove and Marhanets communities came under attack. A post office and a car were damaged there. Three people were injured. A 63-year-old man was hospitalised in moderate condition. Two other men, aged 52 and 58, will receive outpatient treatment.
Enemy troops also struck Dubovyky community in Synelnykove region. A car was damaged in the attack. A 60-year-old man was injured. He was taken to hospital in moderate condition.
Oleksandr Hanzha, Head of Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration, reported that on the night of 11 May, russian troops attacked Nikopol region by drones, causing a fire. The enemy struck Marhanets and Myrove communities. A summer kitchen caught fire. An outbuilding was destroyed. There were no fatalities or injuries.
Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration reported that on 11 May, a 62-year-old man wounded in the strike on Dnipro on 4 May died in hospital. He sustained severe burns during the enemy attack.
Vinnytsia oblast
Ulaniv territorial community reported that President Zelenskyy presented a military serviceman from Vinnytsia oblast, Oleksandr Yelyseiev, with the Order For Courage, 3rd Class. This took place during the President’s working trip towards Oleksandrivka.
Kirovohrad oblast
Kropyvnytskyi City Council informed that defender Artem Vladimirov, who had been held in russian captivity for almost four years, was welcomed in Kropyvnytskyi after his release.
Artem returned home as part of a prisoner exchange in early February 2026. He has already undergone rehabilitation but continues treatment.
According to Valentyna Nepomenko, Head of the NGO Families in Defence of Warriors of 57th Brigade, five defenders released from russian captivity have already been formally welcomed in Kropyvnytskyi.
On 10 May, an event titled “Unfading Love” was held at Garrison Church of Intercession of Holy Mother of God. It brought together more than 70 mothers whose children were killed while defending Ukraine.
Poltava oblast
Detector Media reported that serviceman Oleksandr Klymenko, a cameraman and video editor for Poltava television channels Misto and Tsentralnyi, was killed on the front line. He joined Armed Forces of Ukraine in October 2023 and served as a signalman. In mid-2024, he did not return from a combat mission. On 30 April 2026, DNA testing identified Oleksandr’s body among the returned fallen soldiers.
In Dykanka settlement, nature therapy tours are being organised for family members of fallen and serving military personnel, missing persons, prisoners of war and internally displaced people.
Iryna Cherkaska, Director of Dykanskyi Regional Landscape Park, said that the tours are organised by the park’s staff to help people cope with stressful situations and recover through nature.
Cherkasy oblast
Shpola City Council reported that defender Maksym Pyrkalo from Shpola area received an award from Oleksandr Syrskyi, Commander-in-Chief of Armed Forces of Ukraine. Cherkasy serviceman received a high distinction from Commander-in-Chief of Armed Forces of Ukraine — the For Invincibility badge.
Cherkasy veteran Vadym Maznichenko won a grant under VARTO ROBYty Svoie 2.0 competition. He purchased a grain harvester and headers for harvesting grain crops. According to him, Vadym decided to open the business in his native village. He plans to allocate part of the profit to charity: to restore a dormitory for internally displaced people, and 10% of the business revenue to support Armed Forces of Ukraine.

According to Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, yesterday, 10 May, the occupiers carried out 785 strikes on 36 settlements in Zaporizhzhia oblast. 630 UAVs of various modifications attacked Zaporizhzhia, Komyshuvakha, Kushuhum, Novooleksandrivka, Bilenke, Kanivske, Rozumivka, Tavriiske, Stepnohirsk, Prymorske, Stepove, Lukianivske, Pavlivka, Orikhiv, Huliaipole, Zaliznychne, Mali Shcherbaky, Novodanylivka, Novoandriivka, Mala Tokmachka, Bilohiria, Huliaipilske, Hirke, Zelene, Varvarivka, Dobropillia, Pryluky, Staroukrainka, Sviatopetrivka, Olenokostiantynivka, Tsvitkove, Nove Zaporizhzhia, Preobrazhenka, and Tymoshivka. 155 artillery strikes hit Stepnohirsk, Prymorske, Stepove, Huliaipole, Zaliznychne, Shcherbaky, Novoandriivka, Novodanylivka, Mala Tokmachka, Charivne, Bilohiria, Varvarivka, Dobropillia, Pryluky, Hirke, Huliaipilske, and Staroukrainka. Authorities received 16 reports of damage to housing, non-residential buildings, and vehicles. One person was killed, and two others were injured as a result of enemy attacks on Zaporizhzhia region.
The General Staff reported that as of 16:00 on 11 May, the Defense Forces successfully repelled 16 enemy attacks in the vicinity of Dobropillia, Staroukrainka, Zaliznychne, Nove Zaporizhzhia, Vozdvyzhivka, Charivne, Huliaipole towards Huliaipole. The enemy carried out two assaults on Ukrainian positions near Stepnohirsk towards Orikhiv. Over the previous day, 10 May, the Defense Forces of Ukraine repelled 18 russian attacks towards Huliaipole front and another three towards Orikhiv.
Mykolaiv oblast
According to Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration, yesterday, 10 May, the enemy attacked Ochakiv and Kutsurub communities 9 times using FPV drones and “Molniya”-type UAVs. As a result of the attacks, three people were injured. As of this morning, the condition of the injured people is moderate, with no deterioration. In addition, four private houses and four vehicles were damaged in Kutsurub community.
Yesterday, the enemy also attacked Horokhiv community with one FPV drone. The roof of an outpatient clinic was damaged. There were no casualties.
The Chief Directorate of the National Police in Mykolaiv oblast reported that russian munitions were found in a field near the Pervomaiske and Shevchenkove communities. Explosive ordnance disposal specialists destroyed the munitions by controlled detonation on site.
Odesa oblast
Doctor of Biological Sciences and head of the research department of Tuzly Estuaries National Nature Park, Ivan Rusiev, reported that patches of sunflower oil that entered the Black Sea after the strike on the port of Chornomorsk on 26 April reached the park’s coastline. He noted that, according to satellite monitoring data, the oil slick reached the waters of Tuzly Estuaries on 8 May. As of the time of the report, no birds contaminated with oil were found within the park’s territory.

Zakarpattia oblast

Ivano-Frankivsk City Council reported that a memorial plaque to the fallen hero Andrii Udalov was unveiled in the city.
Lviv oblast
A pilot project for Ukraine on energy sustainability is launching in Lviv oblast. By the end of the year, the RMA plans to deploy about 100 MW of additional generation. This is necessary so that hospitals, schools, kindergartens, water utilities and other critical infrastructure facilities have electricity even during long outages. The agreements were secured by a Memorandum with the international company Marsh, energy companies and partners.
Rivne oblast
Over UAH 21m will be allocated to repair temporary housing for internally displaced persons. This was voted on during a meeting of the temporary commission on the distribution of state subventions to local budgets.
Ternopil oblast
18 servicemen will receive funds in the amount of UAH 15,000 for treatment and rehabilitation. 622 defenders from Ternopil have already used this assistance in 2025.
Khmelnytskyi oblast
This weekend, Khmelnytskyi community hosted a weightlifting tournament in memory of Honored Master of Sports of Ukraine Oleksandr Peleshenko. Over a hundred athletes from different oblasts of Ukraine gathered to honor his memory and continue his life’s work – to develop a culture of sports and health.
Chernivtsi oblast
A memorial plaque was unveiled at Hlybok Lyceum to the deceased graduate Mykola Rylov. Mykola Rylov was born in Hlybok on 3 July 1979, and graduated as a builder. On 24 September 2022, he joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine, served in the 72nd Separate Mechanized Brigade named after the Black Zaporozhians. He was killed on 29 April 2024 in Vugledar, Donetsk oblast.
