On October 11, there were 108 combat clashes on the frontline. Ukrainian defenders are stopping the enemy, holding the lines and destroying the plans of russians.
russian artillery shelling affected Utskove, Brusky, Buniakyne in Sumy oblast; Khrinivka, Yasna Poliana, Mykhalchyna Sloboda, Huta Studenetska in Chernihiv oblast.
Towards Northern Sloboda and Kursk, there were 4 combat clashes. The enemy carried out one airstrike, dropped two guided aerial bombs and carried out 96 attacks, including four from multiple launch rocket systems.
Towards Southern Sloboda, there were 11 combat clashes near Zapadne, Kutkivka, Bolohivka, Dvorichanske and Kolodiazne. One enemy attack is still ongoing.
Towards Kupiansk, one combat clash is ongoing. In total, the enemy tried to advance five times to the position of Ukrainian defenders in the vicinity of Kupiansk, Petropavlivka, Nova Kruhliakivka and Stepova Novoselivka.
Towards Lyman, there were eight combat clashes. The enemy attacked in the vicinity of the settlements of Kopanky, Karpivka, Drobysheve, Torske and Lyman.
Towards Slaviansk, the enemy carried out four attacks in the vicinity of Yampol, Serebrianka and Dronivka.
Towards Kostiantynivka, the defense forces stopped 11 enemy attacks. The invader tried to advance in the vicinity of the settlements of Oleksandro-Shultyne, Shcherbynivka, Pleshchiivka, Rusyn Yar and Poltavka.
Towards Pokrovsk, russian troops tried 29 times to advance on the positions of Ukrainian troops in the vicinity of the settlements of Shakhove, Sukhetske, Myrnohrad, Chervonyi Lyman, Myroliubivka, Novoekonomichne, Zvirove, Kotlyne, Udachne, Molodetske, Filiia and Pokrovsk. Ukrainian defenders repelled 24 attacks, and fighting is ongoing.
Towards Oleksandrivka, Ukrainian defenders repelled 13 enemy attacks near the settlements of Zelenyi Hai, Sichneve, Sosnivka, Novohryhorivka and Orestopol. Five more enemy attacks are ongoing.
Towards Kramatorsk, Huliaipole and Kherson, the enemy did not conduct offensive actions.
Towards Orikhiv, the Defense Forces successfully repelled four enemy assaults near the settlement of Stepove and Primorske.
In the remaining directions, there were no significant changes in the situation.
Ukrainian troops are exhausting the enemy along the entire front line and in the rear.
Serhii Horbunov, Head of the RMA, reports that on Saturday, russia carried out an airstrike on the territory of the UOC (MP) church in Kostyantynivka, killing 2 people. Another 4 people were injured to varying degrees.
On the night of October 11, russia launched 78 UAVs over the territory of Ukraine. It was possible to shoot down and suppress 54 UAVs.

What is happening now in the north of Ukraine
Kyiv oblast
According to the RMA, electricity supply has been fully restored in Kyiv oblast after the massive russian attack on 10 October. 110,000 residents were left without power, but thanks to the coordinated efforts of energy workers, rescue teams, and utility workers, all residents of the oblast have already been reconnected. All critical infrastructure facilities are operating normally.
On 10 October, resilience centres were set up in Brovary and Boryspil to provide residents with basic services in the event of power outages. If necessary, the number of such locations in communities in Kyiv oblast will be increased so that every resident has access to heat, electricity and information in crisis situations.
According to Kyiv City Military Administration, in Pecherskyi district of Kyiv, work is underway to repair damage to a residential building caused by enemy shelling. Apartments have been cleared of debris, windows covered with plastic sheeting, cold water supply restored, and apartments inspected. A crisis centre and a headquarters to assist residents are operating around the clock, with representatives of the Pechersk district organisation of the Ukrainian Red Cross in Kyiv also involved.
According to Kyiv City State Administration, electricity supply has been restored in Kyiv to 800,000 consumers who were temporarily left without service due to a massive enemy attack on the night of 10 October. Energy workers are still responding to isolated emergency calls, which are being resolved in an operational mode.
During this week, 12 air raid sirens sounded in the capital. Their total duration was almost 18 hours, according to Kyiv City State Administration. As a result of the massive enemy attack on the night of 10 October, 12 people were injured. The capital’s critical infrastructure suffered significant damage. Restoration work is ongoing.
On 10 October, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with Dutch Defence Minister Ruben Breekelman in Kyiv. After the meeting, the defence ministers of the two countries signed a memorandum on joint drone production.
On 11-12 October, Kyiv is hosting the Nezlamnist Marathon and the Ukrainian Marathon Championship. According to the race organisers, due to this event traffic is partially restricted.
Zhytomyr oblast
The Capital Forest Office reported that on 10 October forest guards found fragments of a russian drone in the Korosten Forestry after a drone attack that took place at night. Foresters restricted access to the area and provided security until law enforcement arrived. During the inspection, fragments of the drone’s warhead were found. All dangerous debris was removed, and the area checked for explosive objects.
Zhytomyr City Council reported that in Zhytomyr, the families of seven deceased servicemen were presented with state awards posthumously awarded to the soldiers – the Order of Bohdan Khmelnytsky and the Order of Courage.
Sumy oblast
On 11 October, the General Staff of Ukraine reported 13 combat engagements towards Northern Sloboda and Kursk. russian forces carried out four air strikes, dropped 16 guided aerial bombs, and launched 144 artillery attacks, including four using multiple launch rocket systems.
Mykola Noha, Head of Shostka community, said that in the community, work continues to restore electricity, water, and gas supply. Following repeated russian attacks on energy infrastructure, the oblast continues to face severe power shortages. For more than a week, water and electricity have been supplied on an hourly schedule in Shostka city.
Between the mornings of 10 and 11 October, russian troops conducted nearly 80 attacks on 34 settlements in 11 territorial communities of Sumy oblast, primarily in Sumy and Shostka region. The enemy used guided aerial bombs (around 10 strikes), grenade drops from drones (over 10 strikes), as well as FPV and other drones.
Consequences of russian strikes as of the morning of 11 October:
- In Yunakivka community, a 56-year-old man was injured by an FPV drone strike.
- In Myropillia community, a 65-year-old man was wounded, and his car damaged.
- In Sumy community, private houses and an outbuilding were damaged.
- In Seredyna-Buda community, a house and a garage were damaged.
According to Oleh Hryhorov, Head of Sumy Regional Military Administration, since the beginning of October, 12 people, including one child, have been injured in Sumy region due to russian attacks — most by FPV drone strikes.
Over the past 24 hours, 39 civilians were evacuated from border communities by local authorities, the State Emergency Service, the National Police, and volunteer organizations. In total, since the start of October, 135 residents, including 21 children, have been relocated from high-risk areas of the oblast.
White Angels police evacuation units, together with the Humanitarian Coordination Centre, rescued a family of eight, including six children, from a frontline village in Sumy oblast. The eldest, Oleksii, is 14, and the youngest, Kseniia, is six, the National Police reported.
In Sumy, volunteers are caring for a dog rescued from Krasnopillia. The weakened animal, named Modi, was evacuated from the combat zone by a local volunteer and is now being treated at Sumy Animal Protection Society’s shelter.
Chernihiv oblast
Chernihiv Regional Police informed that overnight on 11 October, russian forces attacked Novhorod-Siverskyi by strike drones, damaging residential buildings and a government facility.
On the evening of 10 October, a russian drone hit a service vehicle belonging to Chernihivoblenergo in Semenivka community. The car caught fire, and while emergency crews were responding, a second strike hit another company vehicle. One energy worker was killed on the spot, and four others were injured and hospitalized. Later, one of the critically wounded workers died in hospital. The local fire brigade, which had arrived to assist, also came under enemy fire.
Viacheslav Chaus, Head of Chernihiv Regional Administration, said that throughout 10 October, russian drones targeted critical infrastructure in Nizhyn region, where the roof of a production facility caught fire. Thanks to the quick response of rescuers, the fire was extinguished. Drone strikes were also recorded on an administrative building in Novhorod-Siverskyi; rescuers promptly contained and eliminated the blaze.

Chernihiv Border Detachment reported that during 10 October, russian forces attacked three border communities in Chernihiv oblast — Horodnia, Semenivka, and Snovsk.
The enemy carried out 11 strikes, mostly using FPV drones, and two likely involved explosive drops from UAVs. Four settlements came under fire. As a result of an explosion in Semenivka, civilian infrastructure was damaged.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, meanwhile, State Emergency Service (SES) sappers in Chernihiv oblast neutralized the warhead of an “Iskander-K” cruise missile that had fallen in a residential yard without detonating. The threat was particularly severe, as houses and a petrol station were located nearby. Specialists identified the munition, secured it, and transported it for controlled disposal.

Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine
Dnipropetrovsk oblast
Mykola Lukashuk, Head of the oblast council, reports that the occupiers struck Nikopol region about two dozen times. They targeted Nikopol, Pokrovske, Myrove and Marhanets communities with artillery and drones. A 23-year-old girl died in Nikopol. A 62-year-old man and a 37-year-old woman were injured. A store, a high-rise building and a private house, a sports complex and infrastructure were damaged. The occupiers also struck Synelnykove region. They targeted Malomykhailivka, Mezhova and Pokrovske communities. An 11-year-old girl was injured. Fires broke out. 4 private houses, an agricultural enterprise and 3 outbuildings were damaged. The enemy also struck Zelenodolsk community of Kryvyi Rih region. A private house was damaged.
Kirovohrad oblast
In the village of Buznykuvaty, Dobrovelichkivka community, Novoukrainka region, residents said goodbye to fighter Ivan Tyrsenko. He was 35 years old. Ivan was killed on October 4 during a combat clash with a russian sabotage and reconnaissance group near the city of Kupiansk, Kharkiv oblast.
Poltava oblast
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy presented the Order of the Golden Star to the relatives of Junior Sergeant Vitalii Shevchenko. The man led the repelling of enemy attacks and also rescued his comrades from under the rubble of a dugout after shelling.

Volyn oblast
The State Border Service Administration presented state and departmental awards to military personnel of combat units. The For Military Service to Ukraine Medal was awarded to Andrii Milenin, 48-year-old native of the city of Kivertsi.
Zakarpattia oblast
Roman Mehela, officer of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, from Uzhhorod conquered the legendary Ironman Calella–Barcelona — one of the most difficult one-day competitions in the world. He became the 1st Ukrainian serviceman since the beginning of the full-scale war to overcome the full Ironman distance and receive the title of Iron Man. 3.8 km of swimming, 180 km of cycling, 42.2 km of running – the Uzhhorod resident completed all this in 10 h 31 min 48 sec, with a limit of 16 h 20 min. The competition was held on 5 October 2025 in Barcelona. Over 3,200 athletes from 102 countries of the world took part.
Ivano-Frankivsk oblast
The oblast donated portable battery charging stations with an ecosystem and intelligent control worth about UAH 200,000 for the needs of the 91st separate anti-tank battalion of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. These are the funds raised during the celebration of Farmer’s Day in the village of Novyi Martyniv, Ivano-Frankivsk oblast.
Lviv oblast
Lviv October Trauma Ortho Symposium 2025 symposium for surgeons and orthopedists has started in Lviv. The goal of the symposium is to exchange experience in rescuing war victims, discuss modern approaches in traumatology, orthopedics, reconstructive and plastic surgery, as well as analyze complex clinical cases.
A subvention of UAH 1.034m was sent from the oblast to the following units: the 42nd Mechanized Brigade (Casper electronic warfare system) – UAH 294,000, 103rd Separate Territorial Defense Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (interceptor drones) – UAH 740,000. In addition, over UAH 1.4m in assistance was attracted from friends, partners, employees of Lviv City Council and structural units: 5 cars, 10 fpv drones, a car trailer, 2 electric bikes, a diesel generator, a 1,000-liter compressor, car wheels and rims, sets of car tools, chainsaws, etc. The fighters were also given a DJI Mavic 3 Termal UAV from Sokilnytsia community. The total amount of assistance is about UAH 5.5m.
Rivne oblast
Veterans’ Children studying under a contract at vocational pre-university or higher education institutions can receive state compensation for the cost of education. In Rivne oblast, 26 educational institutions are participating in this project.
Ternopil oblast
61 Ternopil servicemen will receive UAH 10,000 each to purchase necessary equipment and technical means. Since the beginning of the year, 2,324 community defenders have already received such assistance.
Khmelnytskyi oblast
Khmelnytskyi is participating in the Open Government Partnership Global Summit, which is being held in Spain this year. Delegations from a hundred countries around the world are taking part in the event. Special attention during the summit is paid to the topic of the war in Ukraine.
Chernivtsi oblast
The RMA reported that Captain Vadym Saprykin was awarded with the III degree Order of Bohdan Khmelnytsky (posthumously).
International support of Ukraine in the russian-Ukrainian war (russia’s invasion of Ukraine)
The UK has delivered air defence missiles to Ukraine 5 months ahead of schedule as part of a massive programme of military support for Ukraine that has seen London provide £4.5bn this year – a record amount for British aid to a foreign country.
Latvia has ordered 840 russian citizens to leave the country by 13 October. They were unable to prove their knowledge of the Latvian language and pass a mandatory security check.
