Other
From the frontline village of Oleksiivka in Donetsk region, the mother and younger brother of Bohdan Budynskyi—a recently released Ukrainian POW—were evacuated. Bohdan was returned to Ukraine just before Easter. According to the Velykonovosilkivka Military Administration, it was Bohdan himself who asked for his relatives to be evacuated, as the frontline continues to move closer to the village.
Luhansk oblast
Russian forces launched over 20 assault attempts, trying to advance in the Lyman and Siversk directions. According to the Regional Military Administration, the occupiers deployed 191 UAVs against Ukrainian fortified positions and nearby villages. They also struck twice with multiple launch rocket systems and 14 times with towed artillery.
In the so-called “LNR”, Russian citizenship is being selectively revoked. The latest scenario for an FSB propaganda piece was coordinated in Dovzhansk, where a man was found who, in their view, had engaged in illegal activities posing a threat to national security. The violation, handled by numerous FSB agents, resulted only in the annulment of his Russian passport. The occupiers first carried out such a procedure in Luhansk region three months ago, in early February.
This has not become a widespread phenomenon—not due to a lack of pro-Ukrainian sentiment in occupied territories, but quite the opposite. The main goal is to generate fear and tighten control over the population so that others remain on edge. That’s why they choose “culprits” in different settlements.
Many people have already forgotten what a notice on a lamppost or in a newspaper looks like. The younger generation has barely experienced this phenomenon. However, it’s a common sight again in frontline cities captured by Russian forces, such as Sievierodonetsk. In a city without internet or phone service, printed notices are almost the only way to solve everyday problems. But they contain no phone numbers to call for a service or buy a product. Need a locksmith? The note gives his address—you go there and wait until he comes home.

International support of Ukraine in the russian-Ukrainian war (russia’s invasion of Ukraine)
According to Kiel University (statistics for January 2022 – December 2024), leaders in terms of the level of support relative to the share of GDP are Scandinavia, Eastern Europe, the Netherlands. Germany, the USA and the UK allocate less than 0.2% of their GDP, even when compared with domestic subsidies for diesel fuel or corporate cars. France, Spain, Italy – even less (≈0.1% of GDP annually).
UK intelligence reported that russia has recruited over 1,500 foreigners for its war against Ukraine. From April 2023 to the end of May 2024, the majority of recruits came from South and East Asia (771 people), former Soviet republics (523 people) and Africa (72 people). UK intelligence believes that the recruitment of foreigners is largely anecdotal, with financial incentives and the opportunity to obtain russian citizenship being the main motives.
