It has been the 950th day of the Ukrainian resistance to the russian military aggression. 

What happened in Ukraine today:

Here is operational information of the General Staff as of 6 pm:   

The situation on the frontline remains tense. Ukrainian defenders continue to confront the russian aggressor, inflicting personnel and equipment losses.

A total of 80 clashes have occurred since the beginning of the day. 

The border settlements of Sumy, Chernihiv and Kharkiv oblasts have been under shelling from the territory of the russian federation. The russians struck the areas of Stukalivka, Bobylivka, Vidrodzhenivske, Tymofiivka, Novodmytrivka, Malushyne, Svoboda, Obody, Brusky and Velyka Pysarivka with cannon artillery and MLRS. The aggressor also conducted airstrikes targeting the areas of Studenok, Kucherivka and Budivelne with the use of seven combat aircraft. The russians are bombarding Kursk oblast of the russian federation: according to available information, nine strikes with twelve guided aerial bombs have been carried out on its territory so far.

Towards Kharkiv, russian occupiers unsuccessfully attacked the defensive lines of Ukrainian units near Burhuvatka, Starytsia and Vovchansk seven times, with two clashes still ongoing.

Towards Kupiansk, Ukrainian troops repelled five enemy attacks near Synkivka, Novoosynove, Hlushkivka and Vyshneve, and two more clashes are ongoing near Kruhliakivka. 

Towards Lyman, the invader army carried out 14 attacks near Hrekivka, Makiivka, Nevske, Novosadove, Dibrova, Serebrianka, Hryhorivka and in Serebrianka forestry. Ten combat engagements have ended so far, and four are ongoing. The enemy used aircraft in the area of Serebrianka forestry, launching more than 60 unguided aerial missiles.

The enemy carried out two offences towards Siversk near Verkhnokamianske and Bilohorivka, with Ukrainian defenders repelling both attacks. The enemy also conducted an air strike in the vicinity of Siversk, deploying six air bombs.

Towards Kramatorsk, the invaders conducted two assaults on Ukrainian troops’ positions near Chasiv Yar with aviation. One battle is over, the other is ongoing.

Towards Toretsk, ten hostile attacks occurred in the vicinity of Toretsk, Zalizne, Nelipivka and Shcherbynivka. The aggressor launched an airstrike on Kostiantynivka, launching three bombs.

Towards Pokrovsk, the occupiers have made 13 attempts to push Ukrainian defenders from their positions within Novotoretske, Sukha Balka, Mykolaivka, Selydove and Mykhailivka since the beginning of the day. The defence forces are holding back the onslaught, with seven enemy attacks repelled and six more ongoing. The enemy’s losses are being clarified.

Towards Kurakhove, the invaders conducted eight unsuccessful attacks near Heorhiivka, Kostiantynivka and Katerynivka, and launched an air strike in the Shevchenko region using four UAVs.

Towards Vremivka, Ukrainian troops repelled six russian attacks near Vuhledar, Bohoyavlenka and Zolota Nyva. The occupiers carried out air strikes near Novodonetske, Tamarivka, Novodarivka and Bohoiavlenka, with a total of 21 bombs dropped. 

Towards Orikhiv, the enemy made one unsuccessful attack on the positions of the Ukrainian defenders. The enemy is also conducting air strikes and artillery attacks on the positions of Ukrainian troops and settlements. A total of 10 rocket launchers and 7 aerial bombs were used in the areas of Mala Tokmachka, Piatykhatky and Veselianka.

There have been no enemy attacks towards Huliaipole and Prydniprovia so far.


Ukraine has overcome its dependence on russia in the nuclear industry. Thus, Enerhoatom has destroyed the monopoly of the russian federation and is no longer dependent on russian technologies and nuclear fuel from russia. In addition, one of Enerhoatom’s separate divisions is launching production lines for the manufacture of unique components for repairs of Ukrainian NPPs. These are specific spare parts required for the operation of domestic power units.

Ukraine loses $11.2bn annually due to mines and other explosive devices. Most of the harm is caused by reduced grain exports and lower local tax revenues. Chernihiv, Sumy, Mykolaiv and Kharkiv oblasts lost more than 20% of their GDP to mining. Local authorities are losing more than $1.1bn in local taxes. On 30 May, the Ministry of Economy launched a programme to compensate farmers for the costs of de-mining agricultural land. By the end of 2024, the state budget has UAH 3bn for this purpose. The state will compensate farmers for 80% of the cost of land demining.

Recent war events in the east of Ukraine

Maksym, a soldier of the 81st separate airmobile brigade, said that russian troops have reduced the number of attacks towards Siversk, in particular near Bilohorivka village. Instead of infantry attacks, the occupiers are throwing bombs, drones and artillery at Ukrainian positions. 

Kharkiv oblast

Anastasiia Miedviedieva, Spokeswoman of Donetsk Regional Prosecutor’s Office, reported that this morning and afternoon, the russian occupation army shelled Lyman and Siversk. A man was killed as a result of the attacks.

The General Staff informed that as of 4pm, two battles are ongoing towards Kharkiv. Seven russian attacks have already been repelled by the Defence Forces near Burhuvatka, Starytsia and Vovchansk.

Also, two enemy assaults are being repelled near Kruhliakivka towards Kupiansk, and five attacks have already been repelled by the Defence Forces.

At 10am, an FPV drone hit was recorded near a former restaurant in Kupiansk. The strike killed a civilian man, he was 82 years old. The strike hit a public transport stop.

Vitalii Sarantsev, Spokesman of Kharkiv operational-strategic group, said that in Vovchansk, on 30 September, the russian military attempted to storm the town with the support of heavy armoured vehicles and the use of armoured combat vehicles.

The defence forces hit and damaged four vehicles in which the troops were being transported. The personnel fled the city.

The regional prosecutor’s office said that a 58-year-old man was hospitalised in Kupiansk after a russian FPV drone hit a vehicle driven by the man. The incident occurred around 8:30am.

At 5:13am, the russians attacked Krasnokutsk community of Bohodukhiv region. As a result of a Shahed UAV strike, forest litter on an area of 3 hectares was burning.

Yesterday at 10:45pm, russians attacked Zolochiv of Bohodukhiv region. A UAV hit the ground on the territory of an agricultural complex. An outbuilding and a truck were damaged.

At 10:45 pm, russians attacked outside Odnorobivka village of Zolochiv community, Bohodukhiv region. A UAV hit in the field.

At 5:06pm, russians attacked Kupiansk. As a result of the shelling, an outbuilding and a car burned.

At 4:10pm, russians attacked Kovalivka village of Kindrashivka community, Kupiansk  region. As a result of the shelling, a house was on fire.

At 4:09 pm, russians attacked Bohuslavka village of Borova community, Izium region. As a result of the shelling by the KAB, 17 private houses and 2 outbuildings were damaged. A 25-year-old man and an 85-year-old woman were injured.

At 3:31pm, russians attacked Ruski Tyshky village of Tsyrkuny community, Kharkiv region. As a result of the shelling, grass burned on an area of 2 hectares.

At 1:50pm, russians attacked Kupiansk-Vuzlovyi village of Kupiasnk region. As a result of the shelling, a car trailer, a car, an outbuilding and a moped were burned.

At 11:25am, russians attacked Odnorobivka village of Zolochiv coomunity, Bohodukhiv region. As a result of the shelling, 5 two-storey buildings, an outpatient clinic, the starosta’s office, a house of culture and outbuildings were damaged. A 59-year-old and a 49-year-old woman were injured.

Towards Kharkiv, there were 3 firefights near Vovchansk.

Towards Kupiansk, there were 13 engagements. Ukrainian defence forces repelled enemy assaults near Vyshneve, Kucherivka, Kruhliakivka, Novoosynove and Lozova.

178 children and their families were evacuated from 9 to 25 September from certain settlements in Kupiansk region. There are still 91 children and their families to be evacuated from three communities in the region.

In the last week of September, 12 people were killed and 64 others were injured in Kharkiv oblast as a result of russian shelling. There was also one case of an explosion caused by unexploded ordnance in the region between 23 and 29 September, and a man was hospitalised.

Donetsk oblast

Anastasiia Miedviedieva, Spokeswoman of the Regional Prosecutor’s Office, said that the russians shelled Myrnohrad at around 8am. The city was hit with cannon artillery beforehand. A 55-year-old man was killed in his own apartment. A 36-year-old man was wounded and taken to hospital.

Yesterday police recorded 2,637 hits along the frontline and in the residential sector.

The enemy focused fire on 6 settlements: Dobropillia, Kostiantynivka, Pokrovsk, Shevchenko, Dachne and Lysivka.

41 civilian objects were damaged, including 18 residential buildings.

In Shevchenko, russians dropped a FAB-250 bomb with an UMPK module, killing a civilian, injuring two others and damaging 5 private houses.

A civilian was killed in Lysivka as a result of artillery shelling.

The occupiers attacked Kostyantynivka with five FAB-250 bombs with a UMPK module and artillery. There is a wounded person. Eight private houses, an administrative building, a pharmacy, an enterprise, three trade pavilions, a car, and critical infrastructure were destroyed.

Pokrovsk was attacked by russian troops with three FAB-250 bombs with a UMPK module and a drone. An apartment building, a private house, an administrative building, a cultural centre, a dormitory, an outbuilding and a civilian car were damaged.

The enemy sent three aerial vehicles to Dobropillia, damaging two private houses and an industrial facility.

78-year-old Halyna Fedorivna, a Ukrainian language teacher with 50 years of experience, is forced to leave her home in Ivanopillia due to constant shelling by the russian Federation. The local school, where she gave so much energy and love to many generations of students, was destroyed. The teacher’s house was also damaged, and her pets, a dog and a cat, were killed by shrapnel that landed in the yard.

Luhansk oblast

Artem Lysohor, Head of Luhansk Regional Military Administration, reported that the invaders tried to attack near Makiivka, Bilohorivka, Balka Zhuravka and in Serebrianka forest. All their attacks were stopped by our defenders. Settlements and fortifications of the Ukrainian military are under attack from the air. In particular, the occupiers fired six unguided aerial missiles at Novoiehorivka. The russian invaders fired artillery at Balka Zhuravka and used 63 drones there.

Today Ukraine celebrates the Day of Libraries. Thus, Luhansk Regional Universal Scientific Library was twice forced to move to a safe zone and immediately started working in a “travelling format”. The “head office” of Luhansk Regional Universal Scientific Library is in Cherkasy. Cherkasy, where most of the librarians and the management are concentrated. The “centres” of the travelling library are the cities of Dnipro, Kyiv and Uzhhorod. Accordingly, IDPs in these communities are the library’s clients and use library services. In addition, Luhansk Regional Library is actively engaged in volunteer activities and helps the military: Luhansk Border Guard Detachment, the Kholodnyi Yar 93rd Separate Mechanised Brigade and the 111th Separate Tank Brigade. This year, Shelter will continue its work with the support of the International Renaissance Foundation and will be represented in Kropyvnytskyi, Novovolynsk, Chortkiv, Yarmolyntsi and Kyiv.

At a time when the relocated educational institutions of the Lysychansk community are leading in the national multi-subject test, and graduates have good chances to enter the best universities in the country, in the russian-occupied city, children are offered to sign a contract with the russian army and go to defend the interests of the kremlin after graduation and reaching the age of majority. Towards the end of the school year, propaganda will turn into coercion. The invaders have also stepped up checks on students’ mobile devices.

Despite the statements of the occupation administration about the elimination of fires, the disaster continues to spread across Luhansk oblast. It has reached Sokolohirsk (until recently, Pervomaisk). In addition to the surrounding area, several streets caught fire there – yesterday people were forced to leave their burning homes due to the inability of local services to contain the flames. A large part of the settlement was left without electricity.

In the territories seized in 2022, people are relying solely on themselves on the eve of the heating season.

What is happening now in the north of Ukraine

Kyiv oblast

Kyiv City Military Administration reported that russians attacked Kyiv with Shahed UAVs at night. Drones flew into the capital in waves from different directions. The air raid lasted for more than five hours. Air defence forces neutralised all russian drones that threatened the city. According to Mayor Vitalii Klychko, the wreckage of the downed UAV was found near a residential building in Obolon.

In Kyiv oblast, after the night attack, the wreckage of downed russian drones fell in six districts. Ruslan Kravchenko, Head of the RMA, informed that the falling debris set grass and stubble on fire in five districts, and a fire broke out in a private house  in one district, and in another district, debris damaged a cemetery. According to him, the alert lasted for 7 hours. There were no hits to critical or residential infrastructure.

Foresters of Kyiv Forestry Office continue to extinguish fires in Kyiv oblast, which started as a result of the russian attack on the night of 30 September. As of 7am, 7 fires were contained on a total area of 1.25 hectares in the Vyshedubechanskyi branch of the State Enterprise “Forests of Ukraine”. At 10am, a new fire was extinguished on an area of 1.1 hectares. The fires were extinguished with the help of 23 employees and 11 units of special equipment, including fire modules and tractors with ploughs.

On 1 October, the Day of Defenders of Ukraine, a minute of silence and a traffic pause will be held in the centre of Kyiv to commemorate the fallen soldiers. As part of the national events, a minute of silence will be held at 9am on Khreshchatyk and Maidan Nezalezhnosti.

The second Kyiv Veterans Forum was held in the capital. The discussion focused on the assistance provided by the capital’s community to soldiers at the frontline, as well as support, rehabilitation and integration of the military into civilian life. At the event, Kyiv Mayor Vitalii Klychko awarded the “Honour. Glory. State” medals to Kyiv defenders of Ukraine and family members of fallen soldiers.

In Kyiv, 2,400 servicemen and women underwent rehabilitation at the city’s Medical Centre for Rehabilitation and Palliative Care in 2023. The centre is currently undergoing renovations on several floors to increase its capacity.

This year, the capital has already allocated UAH 8.6 billion from the city budget to the Defenders. Since the beginning of the year, the Kyiv community has donated more than 8,000 UAVs of various types, electronic warfare systems, vehicles and other necessary equipment to the frontline.

On 27 September, the Ukrainian Women’s Guard held four mine safety lectures at Kyiv Lyceum №101 to educate students about the risks associated with explosive ordnance. A total of 77 people were informed. Certified instructors told the students in detail about the importance of personal safety in mine risk, what to do in case of finding a munition, and how to return home safely if one’s home is located in a potentially dangerous area.

Irpin City Council reported that the campaign “Give a book to the library” continues in Kyiv oblast. So far, the library collections of three settlements have received more than 300 books. Anyone can join the campaign. Irpin library is also organising a performance dedicated to the memory of Ukrainian artists who died during the russian-Ukrainian war.  

Zhytomyr oblast

On 29 September, on the Alley of Glory of Heroes, Zhytomyr residents honoured the memory of the defenders who sacrificed their lives in battles for Ukraine during the russian-Ukrainian war. The memory of the fallen heroes was honoured with a minute of silence, and the participants laid flowers and candles to their portraits on the Walk of Fame of Heroes.

The RMA reported that residents of Zhytomyr oblast can order medicines by phone and receive them free of charge by post. This is a joint project of Ukrposhta and the Government to provide medicines to people in every corner of the country. The service is also available in frontline regions.

Zhytomyr City Hospital is planning to add a new building to the surgical unit. Rehabilitation rooms are to be created on the ground floor of the department, and a new modern central sterilisation unit is to be located in the basement. The works are scheduled to be completed by 31 October 2025.

A boxing tournament was held in Zhytomyr in memory of 25-year-old soldier Andriy Liniychuk, call sign Kelt, with 22 athletes from Zhytomyr oblast and Kyiv taking part. Andriy was the most effective anti-aircraft gunner of the 95th separate airborne assault brigade of the Polissia brigade and the Armed Forces of Ukraine – he shot down 16 Orlan-10 drones, one Zala UAV and a Ka-52 helicopter of the russian army. At the age of 25, Kelt was a full holder of the Order for Courage. Andrii Liniichuk was killed on 28 April 2023, when he came under artillery fire from the russian army. 

Sumy oblast

During night and morning, russians carried out 20 shelling attacks on border areas and settlements in Sumy oblast, resulting in 71 explosions. The attacks targeted Bilopillia, Krasnopillia, Velyka Pysarivka, Nova Slobidka, Esman, Shalyhyne, Yampil, Seredyna-Buda communities.

During the day, on 29 September, russians carried out 105 shelling attacks on border areas and settlements in Sumy oblast, resulting in 223 explosions. The attacks targeted Khotin, Yunakivka, Myropillia, Bilopillia, Krasnopillia, Velyka Pysarivka, Nova Slobidka, Hlukhiv, Shalyhyne, Esman, Druzhbivka, Svesa, Yampil, Seredyna-Buda communities.

Sumy RMA reported that Volodymyr Artiukh, Head of Sumy Regional Military Administration, met with representatives of the World Lutheran Federation and the German Evangelical Lutheran Church of Ukraine. The meeting focused on humanitarian support for Sumy oblast, particularly concerning the evacuation of people, assistance to internally displaced persons, and ensuring a safe educational environment for children. Joseph Pfettner, Head of the World Lutheran Federation office in Ukraine, shared the organisation’s work in Kharkiv oblast. He mentioned that in Kharkiv, the office is involved in programs to restore housing damaged by the war, provide food and non-food packages to residents, and assist in preparing the region for the winter season.

Sumy RMA informed that Volodymyr Artiukh met with the region’s agricultural producers. The meeting, focused on the challenges and prospects for developing the agricultural business in the region, especially in border communities, took place during a conference on the Sumy agro-industrial complex. Artiukh thanked the farmers for their work in the region, their support of security and defence forces, their assistance to internally displaced persons (IDPs), and their active cooperation on many important issues.

Accounting Sumy Regional Military Administration, the first mobile unit of “Oshchadbank” has started operating in Sumy oblast. This “bank on wheels” will provide banking services to residents of Lebedyn, Nedryhailiv, Vilshanka, Korovynka and Kyrykivka communities, among others. The working hours and routes will be determined by local authorities in coordination with the regional military administration. According to specialists, the mobile unit offers all essential banking services, including opening current accounts, setting up deposits, issuing new payment cards, making money transfers, and processing social benefits.

Chernihiv oblast

Viacheslav Chaus, Head of Chernihiv Regional Military Administration, reported that on 29 September, in the border of Chernihiv oblast, russian forces attacked a non-operational school building and a residential house with an outbuilding. The school building was damaged, and grass caught fire in Vorobiivka village, Novhorod-Siverskyi region due to a UAV drop. Additionally, after four UAV drops in Bohdanove village, Novhorod-Siverskyi region, a house and an outbuilding were destroyed by fire.

During the day, on 29 September, russian forces attacked 11 villages in three border communities in Chernihiv oblast: Novhorod-Siverskyi, Semenivka and Snovsk communities. 

Novhorod-Siverskyi community:

1 explosion (hit, likely by aircraft-type strike UAV) on Vorobiivka village;

2 explosions (hit, likely by a FPV-drone) on Hremiach village;

1 explosion (likely drops from UAVs) nearby Bohdanove village.

Semenivka community:

6 explosions (hit, likely by 152mm barrel artillery) in the area of Semenivka; 

3 explosions (hit, likely by a FPV-drone) on Yanzhulivka village;

9 explosions (hit, likely by 122mm barrel artillery and drops from UAVs) on Karpovychi village;

3 explosions (hit, likely by a FPV-drone) and 7 explosions (hit, likely by 120mm mortar) nearby Zarichchia village;

2 explosions (hit, likely by a FPV-drone) nearby Tymonovychi village;

2 explosions (hit, likely by a FPV-drone) in the area of Halahanivka.

Snovsk community:

2 explosions (likely drops from UAVs), three explosions (hit, likely by a FPV-drone) and 28 explosions (hit, likely by 120mm mortar)  in the area of Fhrinivka village;

5 explosions (hit, likely by 122mm barrel artillery) on Mlynok village.

No casualties or injuries among the local population were reported as a result of the shelling.

Chernihiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office reported that a russian serviceman who threatened to detonate, beat, and humiliate a civilian in Zolotynka village, Chernihiv region, in March 2022 has been charged with violating the laws and customs of war. According to the investigation, during the temporary occupation of Zolotynka in March 2022, an armed soldier entered a household and, threatening the owner with a weapon, forced him to give a foot massage for 30 minutes.

Chernihiv Regional Territorial Center for Recruitment and Social Support reported that on 29 September, Chernihiv residents paid tribute to Mykhailo Oktiabrskyi, who was killed on the frontline.

Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

In the evening, the occupiers continued to terrorise the civilian population of Nikopol region. In the regional centre, a 69-year-old woman was injured in the shelling. She was hospitalised in the trauma unit. Artillery, Grad MRLs and kamikaze drones were fired at Nikopol, Myrove and Marhanets communities. A fire broke out, damaging a multi-storey building, an educational institution, a dozen private houses, an outbuilding, 3 garages, cars, power lines, fences and gates.

At night, the defenders of the sky destroyed one missile and one enemy Shahed in the oblast.

During the day, the occupiers attacked the communities of Nikopol region about a dozen times. They fired artillery and kamikaze drones at the regional centre, Myrove and Marhanets communities. Fires broke out, transport and industrial enterprises and a power line were damaged. Synelnykove region is also under hostile attack. A drone strike was launched and a private house damaged. There were no casualties.

Vinnytsia oblast

​​ At night, air defence was operating over Vinnytsia oblast. A Shahed attack UAV was shot down. There were no casualties or damage.

A defender from Vinnytsia oblast, Roman Kashpur, ran 42km on a prosthetic leg. It happened at the Berlin Marathon. Roman completed the marathon in 3 hours 55 minutes and 2 seconds. Roman Kashpur is originally from Khmilnyk. In 2019, Roman was injured when he stepped on an anti-personnel mine near Marianka and lost part of his leg. The man is a record holder in Ukraine (in particular, the year before last, he set a Ukrainian record with a prosthetic leg by pulling a 16-tonne plane), a winner of the Heroes Games (in two years of participation (2020-2021), he won four gold medals in crossfit, pull-ups, and weight lifting).

A memorial to 35 fallen soldiers from Dzhuryn community was unveiled in Vinnytsia oblast.

Kirovohrad oblast

Andrii Raikovych, Head of the RMA, reported that air defence systems were operating in Kirovohrad oblast. There were no casualties or damage.

Poltava oblast

In Poltava, a memorial service for a fallen soldier was held near the Holy Dormition Cathedral of the OCU. It was Staff Sergeant Alla Tolkunova. She died on 26 September 2024 in a hospital in Poltava.

In Poltava, a memorial plaque to soldier Oleksandr Dryza was unveiled on the facade of the 11th school. The serviceman died on 20 January 2023 in Donetsk oblast.

Cherkasy oblast

Ihor Taburets, Head of the RMA, reported that 20 russian drones were shot down in the oblast. There were no injuries. In Uman region, a field of corn caught fire due to falling debris. The fire was extinguished.

On 30 September, Uman community said goodbye to defender Serhii Dziubenko. He was met with a “human corridor” and buried at the Mishchanske cemetery. The defender’s heart stopped on 21 September 2024 at the unit’s location. He served in the machine gun section of a separate rifle platoon.

Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine

Zaporizhzhia oblast

Yesterday, the occupiers launched 393 strikes on 10 settlements in Zaporizhzhia oblast. russian forces carried out 26 airstrikes on Zaporizhzhia, Hasanivka, Huliaipole, Novodarivka, Rivnopillia, Mala Tokmachka and Malynivka. 170 drones of various modifications attacked Huliaipole, Novoandriivka, Robotyne, Mala Tokmachka, Malynivka and Levadne. There were 18 MLRS strikes on Huliaipole, Mala Tokmachka, Robotyne and Malynivka. Additionally, 179 artillery shellings targeted Richne, Huliaipole, Novoandriivka, Robotyne, Mala Tokmachka, Malynivka and Levadne. 63 reports of damage to residential buildings and infrastructure were received, and 16 people were injured due to enemy shelling in Zaporizhzhia.

As a result of drone debris falling, equipment at one substation was disabled, leaving 1,212 consumers without power. 

It is reported that the enemy attempted one unsuccessful attack on the positions of Ukrainian defenders towards Orikhiv. At the same time, the enemy continues to conduct airstrikes and artillery shellings on the positions of Ukrainian forces and nearby settlements. 10 unguided rockets and 7 aerial bombs were used in the areas of Mala Tokmachka, Piatykhatky and Veselianka.

Mykolaiv oblast

On the night of 30 September, air defence forces destroyed three Shahed 131/136 drones in Mykolaiv oblast. As a result of the enemy attack, a fire broke out at a critical infrastructure facility in Bashtanka district. Information about casualties is being clarified.

Yesterday, on 29 September, the enemy attacked Kutsurub community twice using FPV-type drones. Two residential buildings were damaged in the village of Dmytrivka. Additionally, a grass fire occurred in an open area.

As part of the cooperation between Mykolaiv Regional Development Agency and the German Federal Agency for Technical Assistance (Technisches Hilfswerk, THW), Ochakiv and Sofiiivka communities received two Hidromek backhoe loaders. In addition, two schools received two minibuses.

Odesa oblast

As of 6am on 30 September, there was one carrier of Kalibr cruise missiles in the Black Sea, with a total salvo capacity of up to 4 missiles. There was one enemy ship in the Mediterranean Sea, which is a carrier of Kalibr cruise missiles, with a total salvo capacity of up to 16 missiles.

During the past day, three vessels passed into the Black Sea through the Kerch Strait in the interests of the russian federation, and another 10 ships entered the Sea of Azov.

Kherson oblast

Today, the occupiers dropped an explosive from a drone onto a man riding a bicycle down the street in Veletenske. The victim sustained an explosive injury and a shoulder wound.

Around 10:40am, the russian army attacked Antonivka. Three people were injured by the enemy strike, suffering explosive trauma and shrapnel wounds. Additionally, in the morning, the russians attacked Kherson using drones, injuring three people. A 71-year-old man suffered an explosive injury, chest and leg shrapnel wounds. Two women sustained explosive trauma and shrapnel injuries.

Three local residents were injured by a russian strike on Velyka Oleksandrivka, suffering explosive injuries and multiple shrapnel wounds to the torso and head.

Yesterday, the enemy shelled Antonivka, Sadove, Bilozerka, Blahovishchenske, Kizomys, Shyroka Balka, Stanislav, Tokarivka, Inzhenerne, Mykilske, Novovorontsovka, Mykhailivka, Odradokamianka, Tomaryne, Zmiivka, Vesele, and the city of Kherson. russian forces targeted critical infrastructure, an administrative building, and residential areas of these settlements, including 18 private homes. They also damaged a gas pipeline, an outbuilding, a garage, buses, and private vehicles. One person was killed and 12 were injured due to russian aggression.

Later, Kherson Regional Military Administration reported additional casualties from yesterday’s shelling. A 23-year-old Kherson resident sustained an explosive injury. Two people were wounded by a russian strike on a civilian car in Bilozerka community yesterday. In Beryslav, a 58-year-old man suffered an explosive injury and concussion due to a drone attack. A 29-year-old woman in Bilozerka was hospitalized with an explosive injury, concussion, and a brain contusion.

The Southern Defense Forces destroyed 76 occupiers and 36 units of weapons and military equipment over the past day. They targeted 27 bunkers, a fuel and lubricants storage site, a logistical supply bui8ldup, a drone launch site, and four ammunition storage locations.

Volyn oblast

The 3rd Rifle Battalion of the 223rd Anti-Aircraft Missile Regiment received a DJI Mavic 3T Enterprise (Thermal) quadcopter and a DJI Mavic 3 Pro RC quadcopter from Lutsk community.

Zakarpattia oblast

The RMA representatives visited a school for Ukrainian children in Budapest, which opened on 1 September this year. They discussed with students and teaching staff of the institution and thanked the Hungarian side for their assistance in opening the school, for the fact that Ukrainian children have the opportunity to study here in their native language.

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast

In 8 months of 2024 in the oblast over 6.000 citizens started their own business; 3.400 stopped their entrepreneurial activity. During the war, over 80 production enterprises relocated to Ivano-Frankivsk oblast. Taking into account the enterprises that moved independently, there are about 140 subjects of economic activity in total.

Ivano-Frankivsk City Council reported that 35 native defenders and participants of the anti-terrorist operation went to the city of Berehove for a 6-day rest.

Lviv oblast

The RMA held a meeting to discuss problematic aspects of the system of coordination and cooperation of IDPs living in shelters and places of temporary residence in Lviv oblast. The strategic goal is the development of a network of psychosocial service providers in the communities of Lviv oblast, awareness of users about existing state, regional or community programs for veterans, IDPs, families of military personnel, children/teenagers, older people, people with disabilities

Mykola Smilyanets, soldier of the Military Unit A4821, received the Combatant’s Cross honorary badge by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The defender was killed on 7 September, 2023 while performing a combat mission in the area of ​​the settlement of Novoyehorivka, Donetsk oblast.

Rivne oblast

In the regional hospital, which is the key component of the rehabilitation hub for war veterans in Rivne oblast, the construction of a new building is underway. It will be designed for the treatment of the seriously injured with craniocerebral and spinal injuries. Currently, the readiness of the building is over 40%.

97 children from Rivne oblast went on vacation to Artek in Kyiv and Zakarpattia oblasts. This is already the eighth group this year. Children from privileged categories went to get better, specifically, from the number of IDPs, families of combatants, the missing and the dead.

Ternopil oblast

Ternopil community sent 50 FPV drones and 10 reconnaissance Mavic 3 Pro to the 12th Special Purpose Brigade Azov thanks to the budget funds.

Khmelnytskyi oblast

50 children from the oblast went on holiday to Slovenia for various activities, excursions and active recreation.

Chernivtsi oblast

An evacuation train with 55 people, including 7 children, as well as elderly and disabled people, arrived in Bukovyna from Donetsk oblast. Comfortable living conditions were created for them and appropriate medical support was organised for those who needed it.

At Chernivtsi Regional Hospital for War Veterans, work continues on the creation of an innovative rehabilitation centre for restorative treatment for defenders. As a reminder, the facility will house a modern rehabilitation centre for military personnel with 60 beds. Also, Chernivtsi RMA continues negotiations with international partners regarding the possibilities of attracting funding to increase rehabilitation capacities.

Representatives of Chernivtsi City Council will visit the 82nd Airborne Assault Brigade of Bukovina, which serves in Kursk region. During the trip to Sumy oblast, armoured vehicles were handed over to the military, which will be useful on the front line.

A March in support of prisoners of war and missing persons took place in Chernivtsi. It was attended by families of prisoners of war and missing persons and all caring citizens of Chernivtsi. The slogans of the marches became: We Are Their Voices, Their Lives Are The Price Of Our Freedom, “We Fight For Them As They Fought For Us.

International support of Ukraine in the russian-Ukrainian war (russia’s invasion of Ukraine)

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of New Zealand reported that the country strengthened sanctions against russia and belarus for invading Ukraine. The latest sanctions target entities involved in russia’s illegal occupation of Zaporizhzhia NPP, russia’s military-industrial complex, as well as belarusian individuals and legal entities supporting the invasion of Ukraine.

Andrii Sybiha, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, arrived in Hungary on a working visit. There he will hold talks with his colleague Peter Szijjarto.

Joe Biden, US President, stated that American support will continue until Ukraine achieves a just and lasting peace.

The Ministry of Finance of Great Britain reported in the country, the 1st fine was issued for violation of sanctions against the russian federation. The British Sanctions Office has fined Integral Concierge Services (ICSL) £15,000 for breaching the sanctions regime imposed on russia in response to its invasion of Ukraine.

The Norwegian government stated that the country changed its policy on providing protection to Ukrainian refugees. As of 27 September, automatic protection was cancelled for Ukrainian refugees from Lviv, Volyn, Zakarpattia, Ivano-Frankivsk, Ternopil and Rivne oblasts. The Directorate of Foreign Affairs (UDI) is reported to consider the above areas safe. Therefore, people arriving in the country from there will undergo an individual assessment of their protection needs and may be refused asylum.
