the Russian Federation continues to wage a war of aggression. Despite significant losses, he does not give up his plans for the full occupation of Ukraine. The adversary continues to ignore the laws and customs of war, uses terror tactics, strikes, and attacks both military and civilian targets. The enemy actively uses aviation and quadrocopters of the “FPV” type, conducts assaults with the support of armored vehicles.
The operational situation in the east and south of Ukraine remains difficult.
During the day, 65 combat clashes took place. The enemy launched 2 rocket and 18 air strikes, launched 49 attacks from rocket salvo systems on the positions of our troops and populated areas. As a result of Russian terrorist attacks, unfortunately, there are dead and wounded among the civilian population. Private residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure were destroyed and damaged.
On the Volyn and Poliske directions, the operational situation has not changed significantly. There were no signs of the formation of offensive groups. Certain units of the Armed Forces of Belarus perform tasks in the border areas with Ukraine.
In the Siverskyi and Slobozhanskyi directions, the enemy maintains a military presence in the border areas, conducts sabotage and reconnaissance activities, attacks populated areas from the territory of the Russian Federation, and increases the density of mine-explosive barriers along the state border of Ukraine. The enemy carried out an airstrike in the area of Komisarovo, Kharkiv region. More than 25 settlements, including Znob-Trubchevska, Marchikhyna Buda, Zarutske, Pavlivka, Zapsillia, Novodmytrivka, Popivka of the Sumy region, were hit by enemy artillery and mortar attacks; Kozacha Lopan, Vovchansk, Vovchanski Khutory, Budarky, Kharkiv region.
In the Kupyansk direction, our defenders repelled 5 attacks near Sinkivka in the Kharkiv region and Stelmakhivka in the Luhansk region, where the enemy tried to break through the defenses of our troops. More than 10 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire, including Dvorichna, Synkivka, Ivanivka, and Berestov in the Kharkiv region.
In the Lyman direction, Ukrainian soldiers repelled 2 attacks by the occupiers near Torsky, Donetsk region, and 2 more attacks near Makiivka, Luhansk region. The enemy carried out airstrikes in the areas of Serebryansk Forestry of Luhansk Oblast, Terni and Rozdolivka of Donetsk Oblast. More than 10 settlements were affected by enemy artillery and mortar shelling, including Nevske in Luhansk region and Terny, Torske, Spirne, Rozdolivka in Donetsk region.
In the Bakhmut direction, the defense forces repelled 7 attacks near Bohdanivka, Ivanivka, and Andriivka of the Donetsk region, where the enemy unsuccessfully tried to improve the tactical position. The enemy launched an airstrike in the Druzhkivka area of the Donetsk region. About 10 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire, including Bohdanivka, Chasiv Yar, Ivanivske, Klishchiivka of the Donetsk region.
In the Avdiivka direction, our defenders repelled 5 attacks near Novobakhmutivka, Avdiivka and 4 more attacks in the Pervomaiskyi and Nevelskyi districts of the Donetsk region, where the enemy unsuccessfully tried to break through the defenses of our troops. The enemy also carried out an airstrike in the Avdiivka region of the Donetsk region. About 10 settlements, including Novokalynove, Stepove, Avdiivka, and Severne of the Donetsk region, were hit by artillery and mortar fire from the enemy.
In the Mariinsky direction, the Defense Forces continue to hold back the enemy near Georgiyivka, Pobieda, and Novomykhailivka, Donetsk region. In the Shakhtarsky direction, our defenders repelled 6 attacks by the occupiers southeast of Vodyanyi, Zolota Niva and west of Staromayorsky, Donetsk region. More than 10 settlements, including Vodyane, Vugledar, Urozhane, and Staromayorske of the Donetsk region, were hit by artillery and mortar attacks.
In the Zaporizhia direction, our defenders repulsed 3 enemy attacks southeast of Robotiny, Zaporizhia region. More than 15 settlements, including Malynivka, Chervone, Biloghirya, Mala Tokmachka, Robotyne, Pyatikhatky of the Zaporizhia region, were hit by artillery and mortar fire.
In the area of responsibility of the “Odesa” air defense system in the Kherson direction, the enemy carried out an airstrike in the area of the settlement of Stavka, Mykolaiv region. Such settlements of the Kherson region as Lviv, Tyaginka, Ivanivka came under artillery and mortar fire of the occupiers.
The enemy does not give up his intention to knock out our units from the bridgeheads on the left bank of the Dnieper. Thus, during the day, the enemy carried out 6 unsuccessful assaults on the positions of Ukrainian troops.

Criminal proceedings have been opened in connection with the crash of the Russian Il-76 military plane in the Belgorod region of the Russian Federation. This was reported by the SBU press service. The investigation is conducted under Art. 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (violation of the laws and customs of war).
We managed to bring home 4 more children from Russia and the temporarily occupied territories. This was announced by Mykola Kuleba, the representative of the President of Ukraine on children’s rights for 2014-2021.
Recent war events in the east of Ukraine
The General Staff reported that russian troops launched attacks and assaults in all frontline areas in Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts yesterday, the Defence Forces repelled 39 russian attacks.
Shevtsov, Spokesman of Stalevyi Kordon unit, said that towards Lyman-Kupiansk, russia lost 360 soldiers and 81 pieces of equipment over the day. According to him, russians have intensified their shelling and the enemy is using artillery quite actively against the positions of the defence forces. Yesterday 853 shells were launched, which is a fairly large number, usually around 400-500. Now the number of shelling has almost doubled.
Oleh Syniehubov, Head of Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, reported that about 20 settlements in Kharkiv oblast was under enemy artillery and mortar attacks, including: Stohnii, Udy of Bohodukhiv region, Starytsia, Vovchansk, Bochkove, Nesterne of Chuhuiv region, Masiutivka, Synkivka, Petropavlivka, Ivanivka, Berestove of Kupiansk region.
The invaders shelled Zemlianyi Yar, Zybine of Chuhuiv region, Krasne Pershe, Tabaivka, Pishchane of Kupiansk region with the aircraft.
Yesterday around 9:30 pm the enemy shelled Velyka Rohan village, Kharkiv region. 4 people were injured: women aged 60, 39 and 26 – their condition is light, they received medical assistance on the spot; a 17-year-old teenager sustained soft tissue injuries to his head, face and limbs. He was hospitalised in moderate condition. Four residential buildings and cars were damaged and destroyed.
At about 7:40 pm, the invaders attacked Vilkhuvatka, Kupiansk region, with a KAB. A farm was damaged. There was no information about the casualties.
At 9:45 pm, the enemy shelled Razdolne village, Chuhuiv region. 2 warehouses were damaged. There were no casualties.
The Armed Forces of Ukraine repelled 6 enemy attacks near Synkivka, Kupiansk region.
Combined teams of bomb experts cleared 7.9 hectares of mines and destroyed 150 explosive ordnance. Mine clearance is ongoing.
A day of mourning was declared in Kharkiv in memory of the townspeople killed on 23 January. The enemy fired three times at Kharkiv with missiles. 10 people, including an 8-year-old girl, were killed.
A safe educational environment is continued to be created. Interior work is ongoing in the protective structure of Liubotyn and the facility is 60% complete. The premises are designed for more than 400 people, which will fully meet the needs of the institution. The facility is expected to be completed by the new school year.
Architect Dvornikov said that in the central part of Kharkiv, about 40 historic buildings were damaged after russian missile attacks on the city on 23 January. Among these buildings are the National Academy of Legal Sciences of Ukraine, the Cathedral of the Annunciation and residential buildings in modern and constructivist styles.
Yuliia Tsybulka, Director of the Animal Treatment Centre municipal enterprise, stated that two dogs, who were found killed under the rubble of a house on Akademika Proskury Street in Kharkiv next to their owners, were cremated. Kharkiv is also searching for the owners of a dog that was injured during missile attacks on the city on 23 January and it was found on the third floor of a dormitory where it was hiding after the explosions. After the 23 January missile attacks, it was decided to provide free medical assistance to animals injured in the shelling. Also, people who have lost their homes due to russian strikes can temporarily leave their animals in the shelter for overstaying.
At night, the invaders launched two S-300 missiles at Oleksiievo-Druzhkivka. 13 private houses, an educational institution, an outbuilding and civilian cars were destroyed. There is no information about the casualties at the moment.
The press service of Donetsk police reported that the invaders shelled civilians 15 times. The police documented war crimes and helped the victims during the search and rescue operation. The enemy fired on 7 settlements: Avdiivka, Hirnyk, Kurakhove cities, Hostre settlement, Dachne, Oleksiivka, and Stara Mykolaivka villages. 55 civilian objects were damaged, including 51 residential buildings, a solar station, a car and a power line.
According to Donetsk Regional Military Administration, towards Volnovakha, Novoukrainka of Vuhledar community was shelled with cluster munitions, with no casualties.
Towards Pokrovsk, two people were injured in Avdiivka. In Kurakhove community, Hirnyk was hit by a missile attack and as a result, 2 people were killed, 9 more injured, two 5-storey buildings and 43 private houses damaged. 4 houses were damaged in Trudove.
Towards Kramatorsk, in the middle of the night, russians attacked Oleksiievo-Druzhkivka, destroying 3 houses, damaging 10 houses and a boarding school. In Lyman community, Torske, Yampil and Terny were under attack. In Kostiantynivka community, the outskirts of several villages were shelled.
Towards Bakhmut, in Siversk, 2 houses were destroyed, 2 houses and an administrative building damaged. In Chasiv Yar community, 5 private houses and 4 apartment buildings were damaged.
In total, russians fired 15 times at the settlements in Donetsk oblast over the day. 69 people, including 17 children, were evacuated from the frontline.
Roman Padun, Head of Kurakhove City Military Administration, informed that a 16-year-old boy injured during the shelling of Hirnyk was taken to a hospital in Dnipro, and five others were taken to a hospital in Selydove.
The enemy army continues to put pressure near Makiivka and remains active in Serebrianka forest. According to Luhansk Regional Military Administration, the Armed Forces of Ukraine repelled five assaults in these areas. Enemy infantry is increasingly supported by a large number of drones. Recently, their use has doubled in the last day.
Russians attacked Bilohorivka and Serebrianka forestry from the air. They actively used artillery and mortars in these areas. In the second half of January, the number of enemy attacks on the eastern front increased.
Residents of the occupied Novodruzhesk were promised to get the electricity and water supply repaired, first after the pseudo-referendum in 2022, then after the so-called “first elections” in 2023, but nothing happened. During the election campaign for the re-election of the President of russian federation, the occupation administration no longer mentioned any intentions to restore the city.
In the summer, there was still a regular transport connection with neighbouring Lysychansk and Sievierodonetsk, but for almost six months now, the local population has been left without it. The only way to get out is to catch a ride.
There are almost weekly accidents on the water pipes in and around Dovzhansk, which was occupied in 2014. But the occupation authorities have no plans to repair the system. When they turn off the water supply throughout the city, people do not know how many days it will be absent.
What is happening now in the north of Ukraine
The building of the Lokomotiv sports club in Kyiv, which was damaged by the latest rocket attack on the capital, is being demolished. As a result of russian shelling, part of the building collapsed, the roof were destroyed, cracks appeared in the foundation, office premises and sports facilities were almost completely destroyed, storage facilities, gyms and the adjacent territory of the complex were flooded. Oleksandr Egorov, director of Lokomotiv said that the estimated amount of damages from the impact on the stadium is UAH 50 million.
Kyiv RMA reported that the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) will finance and monitor the entire process of restoration of the Borodyanka Regional Court building – from the development of design and estimate documentation to the commissioning of the facility. The two-story building was completely destroyed as a result of russian enemy attacks. The international partners plan to start the reconstruction of the building at the end of summer this year.
The Head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania, Gabrielus Landsbergis, arrived in Kyiv. He has scheduled meetings with his colleague Dmytro Kuleba and NSDC Secretary Oleksiy Danilov. Landsbergis will also take part in the signing of a memorandum on the implementation of the EU-funded project to build shelters in Ukrainian schools. This is the eighth visit of Landsbergis to Ukraine after the russian invasion in February 2022.
Kyiv RMA reported that the overhaul of the facade of a 5-story residential building with 80 apartments on Energetykiv Street in Bucha is being completed. Bucha city council reported that gas heaters from benefactors from the Portuguese sister city of Cascais have arrived in the region. They will serve the needs of the community during the frost period. The city council noted that this is not the first assistance from the sister city – the municipality of Cascais also financed the reconstruction of Bucha primary school No. 11 and the restoration of the “Berizka” kindergarten.
In the Vilshanka community, with the assistance of the Serhiy Zhadan Charitable Foundation, motorcycles are being repaired and handed over to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The other day, the third batch of motorcycles, which were assembled together with the volunteer organization “United Biker Front”, was handed over. The Department of National-Patriotic Education, Youth and Sports of Zhytomyr oblast reported that the RMA invites young people to participate in basic training on psychological stability. The training will cover psychological resilience, stress, stressful situations and behavioral strategies that help to cope with it, the impact of trauma on a person’s life, and psychological first aid.
Students of Zhytomyr Lyceum No. 16 purchased a drone and handed it over to military personnel. The money for the drone was collected at the school charity fair. As the administration of the educational institution reported, earlier the students of the lyceum had already collected funds and handed over two generators, a chainsaw and an SUV to the front.
During the past day, the russians carried out 12 shelling of the border territories of Sumy oblast, a total of 56 explosions were recorded. The communities of Khotyn, Yunakivka, Esman, Znob-Novhorodske, Druzhbivka and Svesa were hit by mortar fire. The russians fired mortars and artillery on the territory of the Bilopillia community. Another 9 classes of security have become operational on the territory of Sumy oblast. Employees of the State Emergency Service conducted interactive activities for children, explained to them the algorithm of actions when explosive objects are detected, actions during the announcement of the “Air Alarm” signal, and reminded them about the rules of fire safety in everyday life. For better assimilation of information, the children were given printing products developed jointly with the UN Children’s Fund “UNICEF”.
Chernihiv border detachment reported that Defense Forces still consider the border with Belarus to be a risk area due to russian aggression. As of January 25, there is no record of activation of the work of enemy SRGs in the area of the Ukrainian-Belarusian border, but such a danger exists. Residents of the border area are advised to be attentive, watch the situation, suspicious persons and unfamiliar objects.
In Chernihiv, a modular consultation and diagnostic department for community residents was opened near City Hospital No. 3. The premises are completely autonomous – they have solar panels, are equipped with a diesel generator and are provided with a sufficient amount of fuel. The offices are equipped with all necessary medical and laboratory equipment. All works were fully financed by GIZ Ukraine company with the support of the German government.
The administration of educational institutions reported that more than 120,000 hryvnias were collected for the Armed Forces of Ukraine at the Sosnytska Gymnasium named after Dovzhenko at the school fair. Almost 109,000 hryvnias were collected for the Ukrainian military at the Chornotytska school of the Sosnytsya community.

Mykola Lukashuk, Head of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast Council reported that during the night the occupiers fired twice at Nikopol region with artillery. They hit the district center and Myrove community. Due to the enemy drone’s attack a fire broke out in Kryvyi Rih region. It was successfully extinguished. During the day the enemy fired 3 times at Nikopol region with artillery. The district center and Marhanets community were shelled. They fired about 15 shells. Six private houses, a gas pipeline, a power line and fences were damaged in Nikopol.
A 24-years-old Nazar Lozovyi from Kryvyi Rih was selected for the Ukrainian national team to compete in the Air Force and Marine Corps in the United States. A total of 168 active military personnel and war veterans competed for a spot. Nazar served in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He was wounded on the frontline and lost both legs.
Vinnytsia City Council announces that the 105th anniversary of the Day of Unity of Ukraine was celebrated in the city’s Palace of Children and Youth. The event raised UAH 40,645 for the military. These funds will be used to support the soldiers of the 124th Brigade where Victoria Shevchuk, a former member of the ensemble currently serves.
A surgical training center was opened at Poltava Medical University. It’s be located in the university simulation center. Medical students and combat medics will be trained there.

Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine
Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration reported that the russian army conducted 124 attacks on the towns and villages of Zaporizhzhya oblast on January 24. In particular, they used aircraft to attack Orikhiv, Mala Tokmachka and Novodanylivka. It also attacked other frontline settlements with MLRS, drones and artillery.
The military administration noted that on the night of January 25, air defence forces destroyed a Shahed-136/131 drone. In addition, on the morning of January 24, two FPV drones of the russian army were neutralised while attempting to attack from the temporarily occupied territory. Also, at 11:07 a.m., the russian military fired artillery shells at the waters of the Ochakiv community. There were no casualties.
At 15:49 and 18:50, artillery shelling was recorded in two settlements of the Kutsurub community. At the same time, during the evening shelling of the village of Dmytrivka in the Kutsurubska community, a critical infrastructure facility was damaged, leaving three settlements in the community without electricity. Residential buildings were also damaged. There were no casualties.

According to Oleksandr Prokudin, Head of Kherson Regional Military Administration, russian troops shelled Kherson oblast 99 times on January 24. Two educational institutions, a critical infrastructure facility and a warehouse were damaged. One person was killed and ten were injured.
Southern Armed Forces reported that the armed forces destroyed a russian UAV control centre, 10 guns, eight armoured vehicles and a Grad multiple rocket launcher system. They also killed 17 russian servicemen.
National Resistance Centre said that on the temporary occupied territories of Kherson oblast, on the occasion of Student’s Day, an intellectual game “roskviz” was organised in the so-called “youth centres”. It contained questions with a distorted vision of the history of enslaved peoples and Kremlin figures. Participation in the quiz was compulsory, and each “educational institution” had a plan for a certain number of students who had to attend.
Oleksandr Prokudin, Head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration reported that two more children from the Kherson oblast were returned to the territory controlled by Ukraine from the occupation. These are a 16-year-old boy and a 17-year-old girl from Krynky, who were deported to the Krasnodar Territory of Russia after the de-occupation of the right bank.

A charity rally was held in Lutsk to raise funds for the strengthening of the state border with belarus within the region, as well as the purchase of necessary property for border guards who perform tasks in the combat zone. About UAH 10 mln were collected during the event.

The RMA held a meeting with heads of local representative offices of mobile operators. They discussed readiness of the relevant infrastructure for various scenarios. Mobile communication in Rivne oblast will work even during possible blackouts. In particular, communication node stations are equipped with alternative power sources, as well as fuel reserves. In critical conditions, voice communication is primarily ensured. At the same time, mobile Internet services may remain unavailable.
The Center for Mental Health was opened in Varasha on the basis of a local multidisciplinary hospital. This Center appeared thanks to the Mental Health for Ukraine Ukrainian-Swiss project. Currently, a similar Center is being prepared for opening also in Hoshch. In addition, 10 child-friendly centers are already operating in communities within the framework of the project. The RMA reported that the anti-aircraft machine gun battalion, which protects Ternopil oblast from enemy fighters, received 2 pickup trucks and 3 generators, which will ensure uninterrupted operation of the equipment: searchlights, tablets, sights.
An extended meeting of the State Ecological Inspection of Ukraine was held in Khmelnytskyi with the participation of the Minister of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine, people’s deputies, and heads of regional departments of the ecoinspection. The key topic is the recording of environmental damage caused by the russian terrorist state to the environment due to war and shelling.
Chernivtsi RMA involves public organizations in cooperation in issues of control over the use of budget funds. As part of the Transparency and Accountability work group, a memorandum on interaction and cooperation was concluded with 6 public associations.
At the session of Chernivtsi City Council, approximately UAH 9 mln were allocated. These funds will be distributed among several military structures. According to requests, the military units will purchase 20 quadcopters, 2 anti-drone systems, 60 radio stations and 160 batteries for them.
