It has been the 679th day of the Ukrainian resistance to the russian military aggression.

What happened in Ukraine today:

Here is operational information of the General Staff as of 6 pm:   

The russian federation continues to wage a war of aggression. Despite significant losses, the russian army does not abandon its plans for the complete occupation of Ukraine. The enemy continues to ignore the laws and customs of war, uses terror tactics, conducts strikes, and attacks both military and civilian targets. The enemy is actively using tactical aircraft and FPV quadcopters, conducting assault operations with the support of armoured vehicles.

On January 3, there were 47 combat clashes. The enemy launched a total of 6 missile, 42 airstrikes, carried out 18 MLRS attacks at the positions of Ukrainian troops and various settlements. Unfortunately, the russian terrorist attacks wounded civilians. Residential buildings, other civilian and industrial infrastructure were destroyed and damaged.

The operational situation in eastern and southern Ukraine remains difficult.

Towards Volyn and Polissia, there were no significant changes. No signs of formation of an offensive group were noticed. Certain units of the armed forces of belarus continue their missions in the areas bordering Ukraine.

Towards Siversk and Sloboda, the russian army maintains its military presence in the areas of russia bordering Ukraine. The enemy continues its sabotage and reconnaissance activities, shelling Ukrainian settlements from the territory of russia and increases the density of minefields along the state border of Ukraine. The invaders launched airstrikes in the vicinities of Morokhovets and Kolodiazne (Kharkiv oblast). More than 20 settlements came under enemy artillery and mortar fire, including Tymonovychi, Arkhypivka, Leonivka, Kostobobriv, Hremiach (Chernihiv oblast), Marchykhyna Buda, Volfyne, Kostiantynivka, Myropillia, Popivka (Sumy oblast), Alisivka, Lyptsi, Lukiantsi, Starytsia, Zybyne, and Odradne (Kharkiv oblast).

Towards Kupiansk, the russian army conducted no offensives. The invaders launched airstrikes in the vicinities of Petropavlivka, Kucherivka, Podoly, Berestove (Kharkiv oblast) and Novoiehorivka (Luhansk oblast). The invaders fired artillery and mortars at around 10 settlements, including Dvorichna, Synkivka, Ivanivka, and Berestove (Kharkiv oblast).

Towards Lyman, the occupiers did not conduct any offensive (assault) operations. The russian army launched airstrikes in the vicinity of Serebrianka forestry (Luhansk oblast), Terny, Spirne (Donetsk oblast). The enemy fired artillery and mortars at more than 10 settlements, including Nevske, Bilohorivka (Luhansk oblast), Torske, Serebrianka, Verkhnokamianske, Spirne, and Rozdolivka (Donetsk oblast).

Towards Bakhmut, the Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 4 attacks near Bohdanivka and Andriivka (Donetsk oblast). The enemy made unsuccessful attempts to improve its tactical position in that area. The invaders launched an airstrike in the vicinity of Pivnichne settlement (Donetsk oblast). More than 10 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire, specifically Bohdanivka, Chasiv Yar, Mykolaivka, Klishchiivka, Andriivka, and Niu York (Donetsk oblast).

Towards Avdiivka, the Ukrainian defenders repelled 9 enemy attacks near Novobakhmutivka, Avdiivka, and 19 more attacks in the vicinities of Sieverne, Pervomaiske and Nevelske (Donetsk oblast). With the air support, the occupiers made unsuccessful attempts to improve their tactical position in that area. The invaders launched an airstrike near Oleksandropil (Donetsk oblast). They fired artillery and mortars at around 10 settlements, including Keramik, Novokalynove, Berdychi, Semenivka, Avdiivka, and Nevelske (Donetsk oblast).

Towards Marinka, the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to hold back the enemy in the vicinities of Heorhiivka and Novomykhailivka (Donetsk oblast), where the enemy made 11 attempts to improve their tactical situation. Oleksandropil, Krasnohorivka, Heorhiivka, Pobjeda, Novomykhailivka, Yelyzavetivka, and Katerynivka were under artillery and mortar fire.

Towards Shakhtarske, the enemy did not conduct any offensive (assault) operations. Around 10 settlements, specifically Vodiane, Vuhledar, Prechystivka, Zolota Nyva, Blahodatne, and Staromaiorske (Donetsk oblast), came under artillery and mortar fire.

Towards Zaporizhzhia, the Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 1 enemy attack near Robotyne (Zaporizhzhia oblast). The attack was an unsuccessful attempt to regain lost ground in that area. Enemy airstrikes hit Novodarivka (Zaporizhzhia oblast). More than 15 settlements, including Levadne, Huliaipole, Charivne, Mala Tokmachka, Mali Shcherbaky, and Piatykhatky (Zaporizhzhia oblast), suffered from enemy artillery and mortar fire.

Towards Kherson, the enemy fired artillery at Tomaryne, Novotiahynka, Sadove, Kherson, Chornobaivka and Kizomys (Kherson oblast).

The enemy does not abandon its intention to dislodge Ukrainian troops from their bridgehead on the left bank of the Dnipro River. On January 3, the occupiers made 8 failed assaults. However, the Ukrainian troops continue to hold their positions and inflict significant losses on the enemy.

The Ukrainian Air Force launched airstrikes on 12 buildups of enemy troops.

The Ukrainian rocket troops hit 3 anti-aircraft missile systems, 3 artillery systems, 1 electronic warfare station and 1 command post of the russian invaders.


230 Defenders of Ukraine are returning home. Of these, 130 were from the Armed Forces of Ukraine, including 14 from the Territorial Defense, 14 from the Navy, 55 from the National Guard, 38 from the State Border Guard Service, 1 from the National Police, and 6 civilians who were illegally deprived of their liberty. Among those returned were both those who had official prisoner of war status confirmed through the International Committee of the Red Cross – 182 people – and those Ukrainian servicemen who were considered missing and had the status of “search for a person” – 48. Most of the released people are men (225) and five are women. There are 213 privates and non-commissioned officers, 11 of whom are officers.

According to official information from juvenile prosecutors, 515 children were killed and more than 1179 were injured of varying severity. On January 1, a 15-year-old boy was killed as a result of an enemy UAV attack in Odesa. On January 2, a 2-year-old boy was injured in the shelling of the capital by the troops of the aggressor state, he is in hospital. On January 2, another five children aged 6 to 13 years were injured in a missile attack on Kharkiv. A 6-year-old boy was injured as a result of enemy shelling in Kyiv oblast.

Recent war events in the east of Ukraine

Kharkiv oblast

According to Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, at 10:40 and 10:42 pm, the invaders attacked Kharkiv, first with S-300 missiles. A school building was partially destroyed in Osnovianakyi district. There were no casualties. 

Vladen Volkov, Deputy Director General of water supply operations at Kharkivvodokanal, reported that 10,000 consumers in Kharkiv were left without water as a result of a russian strike on school No. 35 in Osnovianakyi district.

As a result of the hostile shelling of Kharkiv yesterday morning, 62 people were injured, including 6 children. One woman was killed. Currently, 28 people, including 4 children, are in medical institutions of the city. Two adults are in critical condition. 

More than 15 settlements in Kharkiv oblast were under enemy artillery and mortar attacks, including Okhrymivka of Chuhuiv region, Bolohivka, Dvorichanske, Dvorichna, Synkivka, Petropavlivka, Ivanivka, Berestove of Kupiansk region. 

Yesterday, at about 12 pm the enemy targeted Lyptsi, Kharkiv region. There were no casualties. 

At 1:47 and 2:30 pm, the invaders attacked Vovchansk, Chuhuiv region. Two houses were destroyed and damaged. A 65-year-old woman was injured.   

At 9:30 pm, a house was damaged as a result of shelling in Kupiansk.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine repelled 12 enemy attacks near Synkivka and east of Petropavlivka of Kupiansk region.

As a result of hostilities, 16079 consumers in 67 settlements of Derhachi, Zolochiv, Lyptsi, Vovchansk, Velykyi Burluk, Dvorichna, Kupiansk, Borova and Izium communities were cut off from electricity.  

Combined teams of explosive experts de-mined 8.1 hectares of land and destroyed 210 explosive ordnance. Mine clearance is ongoing.

On 2-3 January, russian shelling damaged 62 residential buildings, 56 of them in Shevchenkivskyi district, more than 1,800 windows in apartments and more than 700 in public places were broken, and three roofs damaged in the city.

Vitalii Miroshnyk, Deputy Mayor, informed that after russian strikes on Bakulina Street in Kharkiv, volunteers and public utilities are clearing the rubble and replacing broken windows as more than 200 windows in the building were broken.

Donetsk oblast

According to Donetsk Regional Military Administration, 1 person was killed and 1 injured as a result of missile attacks on Avdiivka. Around 11 am, russians launched 4 missiles at the city and hit residential buildings.

The Regional Prosecutor’s Office informed that the russian army shelled Hirnyk town in the morning, injuring a 16-year-old teenager. Also russian troops attacked the town with artillery and hit a private house.

Syrskyi, Commander of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, reported that russian troops are trying to advance on Chasiv Yar. Also the russian army has increased the number of equipment in the east and is gathering reserves from other areas. The invaders are engaging former prisoners in the assaults. Towards Lyman, after suffering losses, they are regrouping for a further offensive.

The General Staff stated that the Armed Forces of Ukraine improved their tactical position southeast of Novobakhmutivka and repelled 24 attacks towards Avdiivka.

On 2 January, the enemy carried out 10 artillery attacks on civilians. 6 settlements were under attack: Avdiivka, Krasnohorivka, Kurakhove, Chasiv Yar, Berdychi and Novoselivka Persha cities. Two residential buildings, a hospital and a power line were damaged. 

In Pokrovsk region, 2 people were injured in Avdiivka. In Marinka community, 1 person was injured in Krasnohorivka and Novomykhailivka and Antonivka shelled. In Ocheretyne community, Berdychi and Novoselivka Persha were shelled. Kurakhove community suffered four shelling: Hirnyk, the industrial zone of Kurakhove and the outskirts of Ostrivske. 

Towards Bakhmut, in Chasiv Yar community, 4 private houses and an apartment building were damaged. Pereizne and Verkhnokamianske of Zvanivka community and Serebrianka of Siversk community were under attack. Rozdolivka and Vasiukivka of Soledar community were hit.

In addition, information about two people, who was earlier in Chasiv Yar and another person who was injured earlier in Avdiivka, was established.

The Ministry of Reintegration reported that another teenager illegally deported by the occupation russian authorities from Mariupol was returned to Ukraine. In two years, the youngster has reached the age of majority and all this time he has been trying to return to Ukraine.

Mykola Kovalenko, Head of Ocheretyne Military Administration, said that a forced evacuation of children from the frontline village of Novoselivka Persha  is to be introduced due to the escalation at the front and constant shelling by russia.

Luhansk oblast

According to Luhansk Regional Military Administration, the liberated villages are under enemy attacks almost every day. In Nevske, the invaders hit previously destroyed facilities and four explosions were heard. No new destruction has been recorded so far. As yesterday, russians actively used kamikaze drones and attacked Bilohorivka and Serebrianka forest three times from the air.

The invaders plan to turn the colony in occupied Sukhodolsk, from where they recruit Storm Zet units, into a torture chamber. Those who failed to be recruited are transferred to correctional facilities on the territory of the russian federation, where the newcomers are undergoing the so-called “educational work”. The task is to liberate the territory of the colony.  As with the recruitment of the Wagner soldiers, wealthier people buy their freedom. The residents are already worried about the worsening crime situation in and around the settlement.

A large number of Rubizhne residents are waiting for centralised water supply from spring 2022. It is available where the system remained undamaged during russian assaults. The occupation authorities have not repaired the destroyed and severely damaged sections of water pipes, particularly in remote areas of the city.

Based on the information provided by the National Resistance Centre, the illegal authorities are planning to give permission to use the Internet in the occupied territories only with a russian passport.

What is happening now in the north of Ukraine

Kyiv oblast

During the russian combined attack on Kyiv on January 2, mobile fire groups of the Defense Forces destroyed 11 russian missiles and 8 Shahed UAVs on the approaches to the capital. As Lieutenant General Serhii Naiev, Commander of the United Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, said, in total, the russian army launched 91 means of destruction in the direction of the capital – missiles and attack drones.

Serhii Popko, Head of Kyiv City Military Administration, said that according to updated information as of 1:00 p.m. on January 3, 2024, as a result of a russian missile strike on January 2, 54 people were injured, and 2 people killed in the capital. Most of the victims have mine-explosive injuries.

KCSA reported that the work of the aid headquarters for victims of yesterday’s rocket attack in Solomyanskyi district of Kyiv continues. The victims can receive financial assistance and free consultation. They can stay at school No. 115 and at the territorial center of social services. In school No. 221, a heating station has been deployed, where victims can warm up, drink tea, coffee and charge gadgets.

Ruslan Kravchenko, Head of Kyiv RMA, said that as a result of the russian attack, two residents of the region were killed in Kyiv oblast, and 16 people, including a child, sought medical help.

The elimination of the consequences of the russian missile attack continues in the oblast. As of 21:00 on January 2, the following were damaged: 39 private houses, 14 apartment buildings, 2 educational institutions, 90 cars, the regional rehabilitation center, warehouses, a church and a number of businesses. The largest number of damaged multi-apartment buildings is in the city of Vyshneve – more than 700 residents of these buildings are being provided with all necessary assistance.

DTEK reported that electricians restored power supply after russian shelling on January 2 for 184K families in Bucha, Vyshhorod and Fastiv regions of Kyiv oblast.

Electricity supply has been fully restored in Kyiv. Work is underway to quickly restore heat in 67 houses of Solomyanskyi district. All services work non-stop, in particular utility workers, who clean the premises.

The Command of the Medical Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported that during the missile attack on Kyiv on January 2, an enemy missile hit one of the city’s medical facilities, where defenders of Ukraine undergo rehabilitation. The missile did not explode, but together with the warhead got stuck in the floor, damaging part of the building. Severely injured patients were evacuated to another medical facility and the rest of the patients were transferred to safe places.

Serhii Popko, Head of the KCMA,  announced that another person who was injured as a result of the russian shelling on December 29 died in a Kyiv hospital. A total of 30 people were killed and another 29 injured as a result of the rocket attack that day.

Work is actively underway to build a shelter near the Obdarovanist Lyceum in Uzyn, Bila Tserkva region. As reported by Kyiv RMA, the construction of a dual-purpose structure with protective properties of an anti-radiation shelter is being carried out at the expense of the Fund for Eliminating Armed Aggression Consequences.

In 2023, schools in Kyiv oblast received 83 new school buses, 16 of which are equipped with seats for children with special educational needs. Buses were purchased with co-financing from the state and local budgets, with the funds of territorial communities and international partners. Kyiv RMA reported that during the hostilities, the russians completely destroyed 12 school buses, and damaged 25. Currently, 395 school buses are operating in the oblast.

Zhytomyr oblast

Zhytomyr RMA reported that the oblast, together with other regions of Ukraine, is providing assistance to Kharkiv oblast, which has suffered the most destruction from russian shelling in recent days. In order to eliminate the consequences of the enemy’s terrorist attacks on civilian objects, the Korosten factory MDF sent 22 tons of wooden boards to Kharkiv.

Zviahel city council reported that the repair work of the civil defense facility for the needs of the city community during air raids has been completed in the city. The shelter is located in the Palace of Culture, it also houses the Greco-Roman wrestling hall of the Volodymyr Yermakov Children’s and Youth Sports School.

Zhytomyr Regional Military Administration congratulated Oleh Babkin,  well-known volunteer and serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, on his 60th anniversary and awarded him with a watch. The award was presented by Vitaly Bunechko, Head of Zhytomyr RMA.

Sumy oblast

The police of Sumy oblast reported that as a result of russian shelling of Yunakivka community in Sumy oblast, 5 houses, a car, and a power line were damaged. They were hit from a MLRS.

Sumy Military Administration reported that on the night of January 3, the russian army shelled Svesa community, there were 4 mortar explosions.

 Iryna Vereshchuk, Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine, stated that during the 5 months of operation of Kolotylivka – Pokrovka checkpoint in Sumy oblast, it was possible to return almost 2 K children to Ukraine.

The well-known French humanitarian organization ACTED (Agency for Cooperation and Development) has resumed cooperation with Konotop community. The community already has a good experience of cooperation with the Agency, which actively helped the city by supplying electric generators for the residences of IDPs and Invincibility Centres, as well as pumping equipment for the water supply and large food and hygiene kits for the migrants. On January 2, experts from the Agency visited the city to study the situation and assess possible financial and technical assistance to residents affected by the rocket attack by russian terrorists.

Chernihiv oblast

Yesterday, russian troops shelled Snovsk community in Chernihiv oblast with a mortar.

Viacheslav Chaus, Head of Chernihiv Regional Military Administration, announced that in 2023, there were 11 attempts of russian sabotage and reconnaissance groups (SRG) to enter the territory of Chernihiv oblast, this resulting in casualties. In order to timely and effectively counter russian SRGs on the border, the defense forces of the region have strengthened their capabilities. 

Oleh Shamruk, Head of the Department for Emergency Situations and Civil Protection of Chernihiv City Council, reported that due to severe frosts in Chernihiv, heating points have been operational since today. When the temperature drops to -15°C and below, they are deployed by the units of the State Emergency Service together with the Department of Emergency Situations and Civil Protection of the Population. The points are located near the places of permanent deployment of units of the State Emergency Service. Now there is no need to increase their number, since there are no interruptions in the supply of electricity and gas.

Five border communities of Chernihiv oblast will unite in the region’s first “inter-communal” enterprise “Northern Way”. These are Snovsk, Semenivka, Horodnya, Koryukivka and Novhorod-Siverskyi urban territorial communities, which are united in order to ensure the socio-economic development of the communities, as well as to improve the quality of services to the population.

Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

At night the enemy shelled Nikopol with artillery. There was no damage or casualties.

In the afternoon 2 russian missiles were shot down over Dnipro region. As a result of the falling debris, dry grass caught fire but it was quickly extinguished by rescuers.

The occupiers attacked Nikopol region all day long. They used kamikaze drones and fired artillery at Nikopol, Chervonohryhorivka and Marhanets communities. Private houses and outbuildings, 7 solar panels, a greenhouse and a car, power lines and a gas pipeline were damaged.

Vinnytsia oblast

The City Council announced that the construction of two radiation shelters has begun in kindergartens No. 60 and No. 28. They are being built according to all the standards for civil defense facilities of this type. Currently, the work in the kindergartens is at the initial stage: the builders are laying utility networks and arranging the foundation for pouring the monolithic slab. In total, eight radiation shelters are currently under construction in Vinnytsia.

Kirovohrad oblast

According to the RMA, the Air Defense destroyed an enemy missile in Kropyvnytskyi oblast and two UAVs in Novoukrainka and Kropyvnytskyi regions. There were no casualties or damage.

Poltava oblast

Poltava oblast is helping the frontline regions of Ukraine that suffered massive enemy attacks the day before. 20 tons of building materials were delivered to Kharkiv oblast. Filip Pronin, Head of the RMA, reported that this is more than 1,100 OSB sheets provided by socially responsible businesses in the region. People need these materials to cover the damaged windows in their homes.

Cherkasy oblast

Sergii Ananko, Mayor of Smila, announced that on the street where a russian missile hit on December 29, 2023, the dismantling of damaged houses has begun. Nine houses will be demolished to the ground. The owners will not spend a single penny to restore their homes.

Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine

Zaporizhzhia oblast

The russian occupiers carried out 134 strikes on 23 settlements of Zaporizhzhia oblast. 110 artillery shelling attacks targeted Zaliznychne, Novodanylivka, Levadne, Shcherbaky, Poltavka, Luhivske, Robotyne, Piatyhatky, Lobkove, Plavni, and other frontline towns and villages. The russian military shelled Huliaipole and Novoandrivka with MLRS, attacked Novodarivka, Chervone, Malynivka, Bilohiria, Mala Tokmachka, and Robotyne with 20 drones, and conducted 2 airstrikes on Orikhiv. Two residents of the village of Plavni were killed as a result of artillery shelling. Another person was injured in the shelling of Orikhiv. Two reports of damage to residential buildings have been received.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine repelled an enemy attack near Robotyne. Our troops advanced near Verbove, forcing russians to abandon some positions.

The State Border Guard Service reports that border guards neutralized seven russian FPV drones towards Zaporizhzhia.

The resistance movement Yellow Ribbon is enhancing in the temporary occupied part of Zaporizhzhia oblast. 4,700 activists from the temporarily occupied territory of the region have joined the civil resistance movement. Most people joined in the spring and summer of 2023. According to the coordinator of the ‘Yellow Ribbon’ resistance movement, Ivan, the emergence of a new women’s resistance movement, ‘Evil Mavka,’ has given a significant impetus to the development of non-violent resistance.

Mykolaiv oblast

Ivan Kukhta, Head of the city’s military administration, reports that due to the explosions in Snihurivka in the evening of January 3, houses on the outskirts of the city were damaged, and there are casualties among the local residents who suffered injuries of varying severity. Among the injured is a minor girl. Currently, the injured individuals are receiving medical assistance. All services are working at the scene. 

Odesa oblast

Dmytro Pletenchuk, Spokesperson for the Ukrainian Naval Forces, says that a large-scale operation for demining the waters of the Azov and Black Seas is planned. According to the plan, demining of the maritime trade routes in the Black Sea is expected to last for three to five months.

Oleksandr Kubrakov, Deputy Prime Minister for Restoration and Minister of Development of Communities, Territories, and Infrastructure, says that  Ukrainian ports handled the loading of 430 vessels during the operation of the temporary corridor in 2023. Despite systematic attacks by the enemy on port infrastructure, approximately 13 million tons of goods were exported on these vessels to 24 countries through the temporary corridor since August 2023. 

Kherson oblast

On January 3, the russian army shelled Novotiahynka. A woman was killed as a result of the attack.

Around 11:10, russian military forces fired artillery at the village of Sadove in Kherson community. According to preliminary data, one of the shells hit a private house where an elderly homeowner was present. His body was discovered by a neighbour. Private houses and farm structures were damaged.

During the night, the enemy shelled Dniprovskyi district in Kherson city. The attack caused damage to store premises and vehicles, but there were no casualties.

Yesterday, the enemy conducted 121 shelling attacks, launching 552 projectiles from mortars, artillery, Grad MLRSs, tanks, UAVs, and aviation. The city of Kherson was targeted with 44 shells. russian forces aimed at residential quarters, medical institutions, administrative buildings, educational institutions, a library, and a station in Kherson region. One person was injured.

Occupiers carried out airstrikes on Chervonyi Maiak, causing significant explosions and damage to a critical infrastructure object. The town of Bilozirka was shelled with artillery and MLRS, injuring a local resident and a police officer. The settlement was left without electricity, and numerous buildings, including 6 administrative structures, a library, medical facilities, a kindergarten, 19 private houses, and one multi-story building, were damaged. A storehouse, garage, and automobile were also affected.

Kherson was under multiple artillery attacks from the left bank of the Dnipro River throughout the day. The enemy shelled the city downtown, Korabel neighborhood and Dniprovskyi district. Windows were shattered and balconies were damaged in multi-apartment buildings, while private houses suffered damage to roofs, walls, fences, and yards due to shrapnel. The properties of residents were destroyed in the shelled buildings. Seven investigations into war crimes committed by the russian military in Kherson oblast were initiated.

Ukrainian forces continue to hold the bridgehead on the left bank of the Dnipro River and expand it in the area of responsibility of Odesa operational-strategic group.  Despite significant losses suffered by the occupiers, the enemy attempted nine unsuccessful assaults over the past day.

The defense forces continue to inflict fire damage on the enemy’s locations, firing positions, and rear areas. Over the past day, confirmed enemy losses included 16 occuppiersx, 2 Buk-M3 anti-aircraft missile complexes, 1 Yastreb-AM radar station, 1 reconnaissance UAV Zala, 5 strike UAVs Lancet, 1 howitzer, 2 mortars, and 4 units of automotive equipment. A field supply point was destroyed.

Explosive ordnance disposal experts neutralized 1050 explosive items in the de-occupied communities of Kherson oblast during December 2023. In total, 7073.88 hectares of territory were checked during the month.

Within the framework of civil-military cooperation, Special Operations Forces (SSO) servicemen provided five portable charging stations to four settlements in Nova Oleksandrivka community. These areas have been without centralized electricity for over a year, and the charging stations will help restore the operation of local medical facilities.

Hola Prystan community received an excavator-loader with financial support from the Kremenchuk, Verkhivtseve, and Smyha communities. This acquisition will enable the timely conduct of emergency recovery work in liberated settlements and facilitate the unloading of humanitarian aid for local residents.

Volyn oblast

The Civilian Support Coordination Center under Volyn RMA has been operating since June 2023. The center coordinates the provision of humanitarian, social, legal, medical and psychological assistance to almost 48K IDPs. With the assistance of the Coordination Center, in 2023, philanthropists managed to rehabilitate 1,6K children from the frontline areas. In particular, work was carried out on the psychological rehabilitation of children who suffered injuries from the russian invasion and occupation.

Zakarpattia oblast

Last year, about 346K IDPs and over 6K soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine received medical assistance in health care facilities in Zakarpattia.

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast

From Ivano-Frankivsk, 20 FPV drones were sent to the 1241st unit of the National Guard of Ukraine. The city has already helped the part for almost UAH 10 mln.

20 FPV drones were sent to the infantry battalion from Ivano-Frankivsk. The drones will go to Zaporizhzhia oblast.

Lviv oblast

The RMA reported that the warhead of the X-101 missile, which was found on December 31 in Bibrska community, 600 meters from the nearest houses, was safely defused by explosives technicians.

The RMA held a meeting with representatives of the International Medical Corps. They summed up the results of the year of cooperation and outlined plans for the next six months.

The RMA held a meeting with representatives of UNICEF. Results of the cooperation of the Foundation and Lviv RMA throughout 2023 were summed up and directions of cooperation for the coming year were discussed. The UN Foundation identified immunization, innovative development of children in kindergartens and home patronage as important areas.

Rivne oblast

Rivne City Council reported that a tour of the zoo was held for soldiers undergoing rehabilitation at the Rivna Regional Hospital for War Veterans of the city Kleven.

Ternopil oblast

The RMA held a meeting on mobilization. The meeting was attended by representatives of law enforcement agencies, military personnel and heads of the RMA. During the meeting, mobilization and strengthening of cooperation between the Territorial Procurement Centers and the National Police were discussed. The military also reported an increase in the number of people joining the ranks of the newly created mobile anti-aircraft machine gun battalion, which protects Ternopil oblast from drones.

Khmelnytskyi oblast

Almost 300 FPV drones worth almost UAH 4 mln for the Defense Forces were sent from Khmelnytskyi thanks to taxpayers’ money. Over the entire time, the city was sent almost 1,3K FPV drones.

Chernivtsi oblast

Chernivtsi RMA, together with the UN Population Fund, developed the Assistance and Redirection Card. It was created as part of UNFPA’s program of humanitarian response and prevention of gender-based violence and contains information on assistance for victims of physical, psychological, sexual and economic violence for service providers, workers of humanitarian and public organizations, representatives of communities of Chernivtsi oblast.

International support of Ukraine in the russian-Ukrainian war (russia’s invasion of Ukraine)

The Czech Republic delivered  26 units of self-propelled Dana-M2 guns of the updated version and ammunition for them to Ukraine.

Norway will send two F-16 fighters to Denmark to train pilots from Ukraine. According to Bjorn Aril Gram, Head of the Norwegian Defense Ministry, the country has already sent 10 instructors to Denmark to help train Ukrainian pilots.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy, President of Ukraine, had a conversation with Rishi Sunak, Prime Minister of Great Britain. They discussed the continuation of defense cooperation with an emphasis on the further strengthening of air defense and long-range capabilities of the Armed Forces.

Andrii Yermak, Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, had a phone conversation with Jake Sullivan, national security adviser to the President of the United States of America. Parties discussed consequences of the recent massive shelling of the territory of Ukraine by russia using various types of missile weapons and Shahed-type kamikaze drones.

Evelina Gudzinskaite, Head of the Migration Department of Lithuania, announced that citizens connected with sanctioned russians are being checked in Lithuania. Citizens were checked after it became clear that the two children of Roman Abramovich, russian billionaire, have Lithuanian passports and may have helped their father circumvent international sanctions.

The UN Human Rights Monitoring Mission in Ukraine has recorded 90 cases of civilians killed in Ukraine, including two children, and 421 cases of civilian injuries in 12 regions since the beginning of the wave of russian attacks that began on December 29.

Zuzana Chaputova, Slovak President wrote that russia has released a record number of missiles and drones over the cities and towns of Ukraine to terrorize the civilian population According to Chaputova, the best way to ensure that russian aggression will not continue next year is to provide Ukraine with the means necessary for self-defense.
