International support of Ukraine in the russian-Ukrainian war (russia’s invasion of Ukraine)

The US announced a new $275m aid package to Ukraine, namely, ammunition for HIMARS; 155-mm and 105-mm ammunition; 60- and 81-mm calibre mortar shells; drones; TOW missiles; ATGM Javelin and AT-4; firearms and ammunition; explosive munitions; chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear protective equipment; auxiliary equipment, services, training and transport.

The Washington Post reported that Joe Biden, US President, authorised the transfer of anti-personnel mines to Ukraine. The delivery of anti-personnel mines to Ukraine is potentially controversial, as over 160 countries have signed an international agreement banning their use, noting that the indiscriminate weapons can cause serious harm to civilians.

Olaf Scholz, Chancellor of Germany, expressed indignation that the final declaration of the G20 summit did not clearly formulate the thesis about the responsibility of the russian federation for starting the war against Ukraine. The German chancellor announced this at the end of the summit. According to him, russian president putin has bombed Ukraine continuously for 1,000 days.

Activists held a rally in front of the russian embassy in Berlin on the 1000th day of the full-scale invasion of the russian federation. Demonstrators appealed to German politicians with the appeal that our common future depends on supporting Ukraine and the outcome of this war: “If Ukraine Loses, We All Lose.”

In Warsaw, several hundred Polish and Ukrainian activists staged a “Thousand Days of Hell on Earth” rally near the russian embassy. The rally was organised by the Euromaidan Warsaw public initiative. Participants of the demonstration thanked Poland and other partners for their support and called for even more mobilisation.
