It has been the 1304  th day of the Ukrainian resistance to the russian military aggression. 

 

What happened in Ukraine today:

Here is operational information of the General Staff as of 6 pm: 

On 19 September, there were 63 combat clashes.

Communities of border settlements suffered from enemy artillery fire, in particular Arkhipivka, Bleshnia in Chernihiv oblast; Simeikine, Bila Bereza, Romashkove, Shalyhyne, Malushyne, Khliborob, Rudenka, Novovasylivka, Baranivka in Sumy oblast.

Towards Northern Sloboda and Kursk, there were two combat clashes with enemy troops. In addition, the enemy carried out six airstrikes, dropping 17 guided bombs, and also carried out 68 shelling and settlements, three of which were from multiple launch rocket systems.

Towards Southern Sloboda, the Defense Forces repelled two enemy attacks in the vicinity of the settlements of Vovchansk and Figolivka. Another combat clash is still ongoing.

Towards Kupiansk, russian occupiers tried three times to break through UKrainian defenses in the vicinity of Stepova Novoselivka and Pishchane. One clash is still ongoing.

Towards Lyman, the invading army carried out 10 attacks near the settlements of Novomykhailivka, Shandryholove, Kolodiazi, Torske and towards the settlements of Stavky, Novoselivka, and Seredne. Three clashes are ongoing.

Towards Siversk, the defense forces repelled the enemy attack. The aggressor was active near Vyimka.

Towards Kramatorsk, the enemy tried twice to break through the defenses of Ukrainian defenders near Stupochky.

Towards Toretsk, the enemy carried out seven assault operations in the vicinity of Shcherbynivka and towards Pleshchiivka and Rusyn Yar.

Towards Pokrovsk, russian invaders made 25 attempts to push Ukrainian defenders from the occupied positions in the vicinity of the settlements of Volodymyrivka, Nykanorivka, Rodynske, Novoekonomichne, Promin, Lysivka, Pokrovsk, Kotlyne, Molodetske, Udachne, and Dachne. The defense forces are holding back the onslaught and repelling 21 enemy attacks, and fighting is still ongoing in four locations.

Towards Novopavlivka, the enemy tried to break through the defenses of Ukrainian defenders in the vicinity of the settlements of Filioa, Voskresenk, Berezove, Maliivka, Novoivanivka, and Olhivske. The defense forces repelled five enemy assaults, and two more combat clashes are still ongoing.

Towards Huloaipole, the enemy did not conduct offensive operations, but launched an airstrike with unguided aircraft missiles on Zaliznychne.

Towards Orikhiv, the enemy twice attacked the positions of Ukrainian defenders in the vicinity of ​​ Kamianske and Stepnohirsk. One clash is still ongoing.

Towards Kherson, the enemy twice tried in vain to approach the positions of Ukrainian defenders in the direction of the Antonivskyi bridge. At the same time, the enemy launched an airstrike on Olhivka.

In the remaining directions, there were no changes.

Recent war events in the east of Ukraine

Kharkiv oblast

▫️Towards Southern Sloboda, the Defense Forces repelled two attacks by the russian federation in the vicinity of Vovchansk and Fiholivka. Another combat clash is still ongoing;

▫️Towards Kupiansk, russian occupiers tried to break through the defenses three times in the vicinity of Stepova Novoselivka and Pishchane. One combat clash is ongoing

Zelensky said that the Defense Forces are conducting counteroffensive actions towards Donetsk, near Pokrovsk and Dobropillia.

There were 223 combat clashes in the oblast.

▪️Towards Southern Sloboda, the enemy stormed the positions of Ukrainian units 15 times near the settlements of Hlyboke, Vovchansk, Vovchanski Khutory, Odradne and Bolohivka.

▪️ Towards Kupiansk, there were 8 attacks. The defense forces repelled the enemy’s assault actions towards Kupiansk, Novoosynove, Kindrashivka, and Borova.

Vyacheslav Zadorenko, Head of Derhachi RMA, says that russians are disguising mines as firewood and launching them along the border of Kharkiv oblast, where central heating is partially absent. 

Viktor Kovalenko, Head of Zolochiv RMA, says that at 16:10, russian troops carried out an airstrike with three KABs on the outskirts of the village of Udy.

Over the past day, 7 settlements in Kharkiv oblast were subjected to enemy strikes. As a result of shelling in the village of Bilyi Kolodiaz, Vovchansk community, a 37-year-old man was injured.

The enemy actively used various types of weapons:

▪️10 GABs;

▪️4 UAVs of the Geran-2 type;

▪️3 UAVs of the Molniya type;

▪️1 UAV (type to be determined).

Civil infrastructure facilities were damaged and destroyed:

▪️In Kharkiv region, an outbuilding was damaged (village of Mala Danylivka);

▪️In Kupiansk region, a private house was damaged (village of Novomykolayivka), a gas station (village of Shevchenkove);

▪️In Chuhuiv region, a private house was damaged (village of Bilyi Kolodyaz);

▪️In Lozova region, a cultural center and 4 storage buildings of a farm were damaged (village of Bashylivka).

Andrii Kanashevich, Head of the RMA, says that on September 15, a 40-year-old woman died in Kupyansk as a result of a russian FPV drone hit. This became known only on September 18.

The transit evacuation point in Lozova received 199 people during the day. 79 people remained. A total of 3,362 people have been registered at the Point since the start of work.

Andriy Besedin, Head of the RMA, says that there are currently 726 people left on the right bank of the Kupiansk River, and 1,716 on the territory of the community. A large number of people remain on the territory of the community, directly in Kupansk. Their lives and health are in great danger not only from air strikes, artillery, MLRS, but also from street fighting.

Yevhen Kolyada, Chairman of the board of the Coordination Humanitarian Center, says that the number of applications for evacuation from border or frontline communities in Kharkiv oblast has increased. In particular, this concerns the Borova, Kupiansk, Kindrashivska, and Shevchenko communities.

Oleksandr Kulik, Spokesman for Derhachi RMA, reports that the evacuation from Kozacha Lopan has been temporarily suspended due to the worsening security situation. In particular, the Russians are remotely mining the village with “petal” mines.

The initiative to open the Alley of Hope in Krasnokutsk, Kharkiv region, belongs to the veteran organization “Born to be Strong” and the families of the defenders. In the center of the village, portraits of missing and captured soldiers who are residents of the Krasnokutsk community were placed on stands.

Donetsk oblast

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that towards Kramatorsk, the russian army conducted four assaults near Chasiv Yar. There were also battles near Stupochky.

Towards Pokrovsk, the largest number of attacks by the Defense Forces was stopped — 87, more than 43 assaults were carried out towards Lyman and Novopavlivka together.

Kramatorsk RMA reported that russian troops shelled Kramatorsk community. As a result, outbuildings and two houses were damaged. 

The Molniya-2 UAV hit the courtyard of a private house.

The strike UAV hit the territory of the private sector.

At night, russia hit the Geran-2 UAV on the village of Kryvorizhzhia, Pokrovsky region — a house was damaged.

On September 18, the russian army launched 2,233 strikes on the front line and residential sector. 14 settlements were under fire. 87 civilian objects were destroyed, including 42 residential buildings.

russians struck Kostiantynivka with anti-aircraft missiles, artillery and drones – they killed 5 people, wounded another one. A private and 14 apartment buildings, an administrative building, a dormitory, a cultural center, and a car were damaged.

The enemy attacked Druzhkivka with UAVs, FPV drones and the Smerch anti-aircraft missile system – 11 private and 3 apartment buildings, 2 administrative buildings, a garage, and 10 vehicles were destroyed.

The invaders sent three Molniya-2 UAVs to Sloviansk, damaging 3 homes.

As a result of enemy attacks in Lyman, a private house, garages, 3 non-residential premises, and a car were destroyed.

In one of the hospitals in Dnipropetrovsk oblast, two wounded are being rescued from a drone attack on a hospital in Druzhkivka in Donetsk oblast, which occurred on September 17. The patients of the medical facility are Andrii, 52, deputy chief physician of the hospital in Druzhkivka, and Serhiy, 61, a local resident. The latter lost an arm, leg, and eye due to a hit by an FPV drone, and 70% of his body was burned. Both patients were in serious condition after being taken to the hospital, Andrii’s condition is currently closer to moderate.

Evacuation from Kostiantynivka is becoming more difficult every day. Volunteers are forced to change their departure schedule, as russian drones “wait” for cars at intersections.

Kostiantynivka RMA reported that nine more people were evacuated from Kostiantynivka community.

Luhansk oblast

The enemy fired on the fortifications of the Ukrainian defenders more than 20 times with cannon and rocket artillery. The occupiers involved 17 drones in the performance of combat missions. They tried to storm our positions towards Lyman 16 times, and towards Siversk 13 times. Ukrainian soldiers are holding back the enemy there.

The occupiers continue to massively recruit children into the ranks of the “Youth Army” – a movement that is among the main mechanisms for the militarization of youth. For example, 90 students of the Economic and Legal Lyceum from Luhansk were brought to Sorokyne (formerly Krasnodon) to take an oath invented by russian propagandists. The enemy is forcing girls and boys to swear allegiance to war at a young age, voluntarily or forcibly – while studying at school.

In several areas of Khrustalne (formerly Krasny Luch), drinking water has been lacking for over a month. In part of the city – for over a week. In some neighborhoods, the population is given the opportunity to collect water once every two days. russians have been indifferent to the state of critical infrastructure in the cities of the so-called “lpr”  for the 12th year.

What is happening now in the north of Ukraine

Kyiv oblast

On the night of 19 September, an air raid alert lasted in Kyiv as the enemy attacked with drones. According to the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, Timur Tkachenko, drone debris was found in several locations. One of the russian drones fell in the Solomyanskyi district of the city. In the Shevchenkivskyi district, the trolleybus network was damaged by falling debris. In the same district, an unexploded drone was found in the morning. 

As a result of the shelling in Kyiv, interruptions occurred in card payments and ticket validation on the high-speed tram and funicular. The enemy damaged the connection channel to the telecommunications network operator that provides services to Kyivpastrans.

Lithuanian Foreign Minister Kęstutis Budrys arrived in Kyiv, visiting Ukraine for the fifth time in this position. He met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

The National Guard reported that the medical centre of the National Guard of Ukraine performed a unique combined reconstructive operation to restore the functionality and aesthetics of the affected areas of the face of a soldier who had been seriously wounded. The operation was performed by a team of doctors from the National Guard Medical Centre in collaboration with leading specialists from the Bogomolets National Medical University and with the support of philanthropists. This time, the doctors managed to restore the face of a soldier from the Lyut joint assault brigade of the National Police of Ukraine.

In Kyiv, the book “Olenivka. Crime. Memory. Broken System” was presented at the “Sens” bookstore. It recreates the chronology of russia’s war crime, which took the lives of dozens of Ukrainian prisoners of war, and at the same time serves as a memorial to the fallen soldiers. This was reported by the communications team of the Memorial memory platform, which created the book in collaboration with the Media Initiative for Human Rights (MIHR) and The Ukrainians Publishing. The foreword to the book was written by Denis “Redis” Prokopenko, commander of the 1st Corps of the National Guard of Ukraine “Azov”.

Zhytomyr oblast

On 19 September, an initiative for defenders was held at one of Zhytomyr’s medical facilities, with the participation of students from the regional centre for social and psychological rehabilitation of children, “Sunny House.” Psychological support, attention to emotional state, and the feeling of care and understanding help to restore strength more quickly, maintain stability, and find motivation. The event was held as part of the All-Ukrainian mental health programme “How are you?”.

On 20-21 September, Zhytomyr will become the literary centre of the country – the city will host the III Book Forum “Resistance. Without Barriers – 2025”. The city’s main street will be transformed into a space for books, music, discussions and meetings with writers and publishers. A special focus will be made on literary and musical performances and the awarding of the winners of the Literary Marathon “russia’s War Against Ukraine. Resistance. Without Barriers.”

Sumy oblast

 The RMA reported that from the morning of 18 September to the morning of 19 September, russian forces carried out 91 attacks on 23 settlements across 12 territorial communities. The heaviest shelling occurred in Sumy and Shostka regions. The enemy extensively used guided aerial bombs (40 strikes), unguided rockets (over 10 strikes), dropped VOG grenades from UAVs (over 10 strikes), as well as other UAV and FPV-drone strikes.

As a result of the attacks, a civilian infrastructure facility in Sumy community was damaged.

During the day, 23 people were evacuated from border communities by local authorities together with the State Emergency Service, the National Police, and volunteer organisations.

Chernihiv oblast

Oleksandr Seliverstov, Head of Novhorod-Siverskyi RMA, reported that on the morning of 19 September, russian drones attacked the border Kostobobriv village in Semenivka community, wounding two local residents. One man suffered a concussion and shrapnel wounds to his limbs, the other sustained a concussion. Both were taken to Novhorod-Siverskyi hospital.

According to  Viacheslav Chaus, Head of the Regional Military Administration, the drone attack injured a 62-year-old resident and a 56-year-old local firefighter.

The RMA informed that over the past day, 59 attacks were recorded across Chernihiv oblast. In Koriukivka region, a drone strike caused a fire at an enterprise. In Novhorod-Siverskyi region, a house caught fire following a mortar attack.

According to Chernihiv Border Detachment, throughout the day of 18 September, russian troops attacked three border communities — Novhorod-Siverskyi, Semenivka and Horodnia. The enemy shelled with mortars (2 explosions) and artillery (5 explosions), carried out FPV-drone strikes (20 explosions), and dropped explosive devices from UAVs (31 explosions). In total, 11 settlements came under enemy fire.

On 19 September, a funeral was held in Nizhyn for Oleksandr Hula, a master sergeant of the State Emergency Service, who was killed on 17 September — the Day of the Rescuer. That day, a russian drone struck the territory of a local SES unit. When firefighters arrived to eliminate the consequences, a second strike hit their fire truck.

The RMA announced that since the launch of the eRestoration programme, residents of Chernihiv oblast have submitted over 8,000 applications for compensation for damaged and destroyed housing, with nearly 6,000 payments already made. The total amount of compensation exceeds UAH 2b.

Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

Mykola Lukashuk, Head of the oblast council, says that russians attacked Pavlohrad. There were fires. In the evening and at night, the occupiers attacked the Nikopol region. They fired a drone at the district center and fired artillery at Myrove community.

More than 40 attacks in a day – the enemy continued to strike at Nikopol region with drones and artillery. They targeted Nikopol, Marhanets, Chervonohryhorivka and Pokrovske communities. Five people were injured – women aged 59, 22 and 64, as well as men aged 22 and 54. 15 private houses, 3 garages, 4 outbuildings were damaged, another one was destroyed, a sports complex, 3 greenhouses, a car and a power line were hit. They again hit the Synelnyky district with GAB and UAVs.

They targeted Malomykhailivka and Mezhove communities. A 61-year-old man was injured, and an administrative building was damaged.

Vinnytsia oblast

In the village of Dovzhok, Yampil community, in Vinnytsia region, Volodymyr Kirnitsky, who was released from captivity, was met. The defender spent three years and four months in russian captivity.

Kirovohrad oblast

A second memorial screen was opened in the village of Nove in memory of those who died on the military front since 2014. It contains 772 portraits and biographies, including 31 soldiers from the village of Nove.

Poltava oblast

A 38-year-old soldier, Oleksandr Ochkan, died in the war. The man was born and lived in Poltava. The soldier was killed on September 12, 2025, defending Donetsk oblast.

Cherkasy oblast

Igor Taburets, Head of the RMA, says that in Cherkasy oblast, defenders shot down 2 russian UAVs. 

Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine

Zaporizhzhia oblast

On 19 September, the russian army attacked a civilian car in Huliaipole with a drone. A married couple was killed.

Yesterday, 18 September, the occupiers executed 376 strikes on 14 settlements in Zaporizhzhia oblast. russian forces conducted 5 airstrikes on Huliaipole, Vozdvyzhivka, Chervone, and Malynivka. 231 UAVs of various types (mostly FPV) attacked Chervonodniprovka, Malokaterynivka, Plavni, Huliaipole, Shcherbaky, Novodanylivka, Mala Tokmachka, and Charivne. Three MLRS strikes hit Novoandriivka, Bilohiria, and Poltavka. 137 artillery strikes were carried out on Chervonodniprovka, Plavni, Huliaipole, Shcherbaky, Novodanylivka, Mala Tokmachka, and Charivne. 48 reports of damage to apartments, private houses, infrastructure facilities, cars, garages, and outbuildings were received. Four women were injured as a result of the enemy attack on Polohy region.

As of 16:00 on 19 September, the enemy twice attacked the positions of Ukrainian defenders near Kamianske and Stepnohirsk towards Orikhiv. One engagement is still ongoing.

Mykolaiv oblast

In the evening of 18 September, two Shahed 131/136 attack drones and various types of imitation UAVs were shot down or suppressed over Mykolaiv oblast. Overall, there was no shelling in the region on 18 September.

Police explosive ordnance disposal specialists destroyed a russian anti-tank system in Horokhivske community. The weapon was discovered by residents on a plot of land on 18 September, who reported it to the police.

Kherson oblast

On 19 September, around 07:00, a 69-year-old local man detonated an explosive device near the village of Odradokamianka. He died on the spot.

Another resident of Beryslav was reported killed as a result of a russian drone attack. On 13 September, the enemy dropped explosives from a UAV on a 69-year-old man.

Around 12:30, russian forces attacked a woman in Bilozirka with a drone. The local woman was hospitalized with a concussion, contusion, shrapnel wound to the arm, and explosive and closed head injuries.

A resident of Bilozirka who was injured by a russian drone sought medical help. The 61-year-old woman sustained mine-explosive and head injuries, as well as a concussion and contusion.

At approximately 08:40, russian forces carried out an artillery strike on Antonivka. Two people were injured: a 34-year-old man sustained explosive injuries and shrapnel wounds to the chest, arms, and face, and a 72-year-old woman was diagnosed with explosive injuries and a contusion.

Yesterday, the russian forces attacked Beryslav, Havrylivka, Nadiivka, Lvove, Mykolaivka, Burhunka, Kizomys, Prydniprovske, Sadove, Veletenske, Antonivka, Tomyna Balka, Novodmytrivka, Doslidne, Rozlyv, Zorivka, Sofiivka, Romashkove, Bilozirka, Dudchany, Zmiivka, Odradokamianka, Olhivka, Respublikanets, Chervonyi Maiak, Chereshenky, and the city of Kherson. Five private houses were damaged, and one person was injured.

Kherson Regional Prosecutor’s Office reported that on the night of 18 September, 2025, russian forces shot two men aged 55 and 64 and a 62-year-old woman in the temporarily occupied village of Kozachi Laheri. Immediate investigative and search actions are underway to establish all circumstances of the incident and the individuals involved.

As of 16:00 on 18 September, the enemy carried out two unsuccessful assaults on Ukrainian positions near the Antonivskyi Bridge towards Kherson.

Latest news for today in the western regions of Ukraine

Volyn oblast

The death of 51-year-old serviceman, senior soldier Oleksandr Karpuk, resident of the village of Mshanets, Holovnensky community, has been confirmed. The defender had been missing since 11 March 2024 near the settlement of Novodarivka, Polohivskyi region, Zaporizhzhia oblast, where his death was confirmed.

Zakarpattia oblast

Uzhhorod City Council held a meeting of the Coordination Council on Internally Displaced Persons. The participation of Uzhhorod City Council in the Eurocommunity: Financial Opportunities For Development And European Integration project was discussed. The project involves the creation of educational materials, a series of information sessions, mentoring support and assistance to communities in creating European associations of territorial cooperation.

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast

The RMA held a meeting with Jozsef Backai, Consul General of Hungary in Uzhhorod, and Vasyl Vyshivaniuk, Honorary Consul of Hungary in Ivano-Frankivsk. They discussed cooperation.

Lviv oblast

The RMA held a meeting with Cao Yichushui, CEO of Huawei Ukraine, and the company’s delegation. Company representatives spoke about the challenges they face while working on the Ukrainian market.

The RMA held a meeting with Tomasz Kopecny, Czech Government Commissioner for the Reconstruction of Ukraine. They discussed the reconstruction of Ukraine and the challenges of medicine in Lviv oblast.

Volunteers of the Priority 4_5_0 NGO sent aid in accordance with requests to Kharkiv and Zaporizhzhia oblasts. They also raised funds to purchase ECOFLOW DELTA 2 for a defender from the village of Duliby and his comrades from the 67th brigade, who are fighting in Pokrovsky region.

Rivne oblast

The United UA veterans’ forum was held in Rivne oblast for the 2nd time. It was attended by veterans, representatives of veterans’ associations, public organizations, public relations groups and relatives of military personnel. 

Ternopil oblast

A petanque and bocce master class for military personnel was held in Ternopil. The event brought together veterans of combat operations, military personnel and people with disabilities undergoing rehabilitation in Ternopil hospitals. One of the important issues of the forum is the development in the oblast of an institute of specialists in supporting veterans and demobilized persons.

Khmelnytskyi oblast

The RMA held a meeting with representatives of the Energy Company of Ukraine JSC. They discussed ways to strengthen the energy sustainability of Khmelnytskyi oblast.

Chernivtsi oblast

The RMA held a meeting with the mothers of Bukovyna soldiers who defended and continue to defend Ukraine on the hottest front lines. They discussed issues related to the scope of activities of the Headquarters of Mothers and Families of Soldiers of Ukraine public organization they formed, and the interaction of the executive branch, local governments, and volunteer organizations in providing soldiers with the necessary means.

International support of Ukraine in the russian-Ukrainian war (russia’s invasion of Ukraine)

Paula Pino, European Commission spokeswoman, announced that the European Commission approved a new 19th package of sanctions against the russian federation.

IAEA adopted a resolution demanding the immediate deoccupation of Zaporizhzhia NPP. The document, supported by 62 member states, calls on the russian federation to immediately deoccupy and demilitarize Zaporizhzhia NPP and return it to full control of the Ukrainian authorities.
