Currently, the enemy has attacked the positions of the Defence Forces 85 times.
Russian artillery shelling has affected the border areas of our country, in particular the settlements of Lisivshchyna in Chernihiv oblast; Simeikyne, Bila Bereza, and Bobylivka in Sumy oblast.
Towards North Slobozhanske and Kursk, the enemy attempted offensive actions five times. Enemy aircraft carried out one air strike, dropping a total of two guided bombs, and the enemy also carried out 74 shellings, including two from multiple launch rocket systems.
Towards South Slobozhanske, Ukrainian troops repelled two enemy assaults near Vovchansk and Lyptsi.
The enemy has attacked five times towards Kupiansk towards Kupiansk, Petropavlivka and Pishchane, with two clashes still ongoing.
Towards Lyman, Ukrainian units repelled three attacks towards Shyikivka, Shandryholove and near Kolodiaziv. Two attacks are still ongoing.
Towards Siversk, Ukrainian soldiers repelled eight enemy attacks as the occupiers’ units are trying to advance in the areas of Serebrianka, Hryhorivka, Vyimka, Yampil and Dronivka. Three clashes are ongoing.
Towards Kramatorsk, there was one combat engagement with the enemy in Orikhovo-Vasylivka.
Towards Toretsk, russian occupiers stormed the positions of our defenders 11 times in the areas of Shcherbynivka, Katerynivka, Poltavka, Rusyn Yar and in the direction of Ivanopil, Pleshchiivka. Ukrainian units repelled nine attacks, and two more clashes are ongoing.
Towards Pokrovsk, the occupiers have carried out 36 attacks on the positions of our defenders in the areas of the settlements of Volodymyrivka, Vilne, Shakhov, Rodynske, Chervonyi Lyman, Novoeekonomichne, Promin, Lysivka, Zvirove, Kotlyne, Udachne, Molodetske, Dachne, and Novoukrainka. Holding back the enemy’s advance, Ukrainian defenders have already repelled 29 attacks.
Towards Novopavlivka, the invaders launched nine attacks on the positions of Ukrainian troops near the settlements of Filiia, Ivanivka, Oleksandrohrad, Maliivka, and Novoivanivka. Four combat engagements are still ongoing.
No combat clashes have been recorded towards Huliaipole. The enemy carried out air strikes in the areas of the settlements of Bilohiria and Zaliznychne.
Towards Orikhiv, the enemy launched an air strike in the area of the settlement of Hryhorivka, but did not conduct any offensive operations.
Towards Kherson, Ukrainian defenders repelled two attacks by the occupiers. The invader’s aviation struck Odradokamianka with unguided air missiles.

Andrii Yermak, Head of the President’s Office, reported that Ukrainian sanctions group has prepared a comprehensive plan to increase pressure on russia. They propose the following mechanisms:
- extension of sanctions to more than 400 ships of the shadow fleet;
- lowering and regularly adjusting price caps on premium segment oil and petroleum products;
- secondary sanctions and port embargoes for those who help the kremlin circumvent restrictions;
- use of frozen russian assets for Ukraine;
- elimination of loopholes in technology export controls, especially through third countries.
Another 16 children were rescued from the occupied territories. Among them was a girl who was constantly afraid for her mother. The woman was held in a basement for three days without food or water simply because the child’s father serves in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Another teenager was taken to the military registration office without his parents’ knowledge instead of going to school and was registered for military service. Russian soldiers did not allow a two-year-old girl with a high temperature to go to the hospital, and her mother was forced to carry her across a pontoon bridge in the dark.
Recent war events in the east of Ukraine
The Humanitarian Research Laboratory at the Yale School of Public Health has identified 210 institutions in russia where children from temporarily occupied territories, particularly Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts, are brought for maintenance and education. Children undergo complete re-education in more than half of the institutions, and in at least 37 institutions, children are subjected to militarisation. The occupiers divide the children into four groups. Children taken from their parents during filtration in Mariupol are separated. Yale University researchers have not been able to determine the exact number of abducted children.
Kharkiv oblast
Frontline
As of 4pm, towards South Slobozhanske, Ukrainian troops repelled two assaults near Vovchansk and Lyptsi.
The occupiers have attacked five times towards Kupiansk, Petropavlivka, and Pishchane, with two combat engagements still ongoing.
Over the past day, 208 combat clashes were recorded.
Yesterday, 20 combat engagements took place in South Slobozhanske axis near Vovchansk, Vovchanski Khutory, Ambarne, Odradne, and Krasne Pershe.
Towards Kupiansk, 11 attacks by the occupiers took place over the past day. The defence forces repelled enemy assaults in Kindrashivka, Zahryzove, Kupiansk and Petropavlivka.
Attacks
Viktor Kovalenko, Head of Zolochiv community, said that russia attacked Tymofiivka and Lemishchyne with FPV drones. Russia attacked Tymofiivka for the third time in 24 hours at around 4pm. The strikes damaged a private house, farm buildings, and power lines. Lemishchyne was attacked at around 9am. A private house was destroyed as a result of the strikes.
The enemy attacked the city with several UAVs, some of which were shot down. One of the strikes was recorded in Slobidskyi district. Russia used a drone to strike an administrative building of a pharmaceutical training institution in Slobidskyi district, where there was a training unit. The shelling damaged the roof and one of the floors of the two-storey administrative building. Four people were injured: three women aged 51, 52 and 54 and an 89-year-old man. All of them are in a mild condition.
Architect Viktor Dvornikov reported that during the russian drone attack on the Slobidska district of Kharkiv on 16 September, a local historical landmark with elements of pseudo-moscow architecture was damaged. According to him, the building that was hit has a protection number.

Over the past day, 12 settlements in the Kharkiv region were hit by enemy strikes. As a result of the shelling, one person was killed and five were injured.
A 62-year-old man was killed in Kupiansk; a 71-year-old, a 40-year-old and a 48-year-old man were injured in the village of Borova; a 63-year-old man and a 64-year-old woman were injured in the village of Berezivka, Shevchenkove community.
A 67-year-old and a 71-year-old man who were wounded in Kupiansk on 14 September also sought medical attention.
The enemy actively used various types of weapons in Kharkiv oblast:

In Kupiansk region, a private house (village of Nechvolodivka), power lines (village of Spodobivka), a car (village of Berezivka), and two farm buildings (village of Novomykolaivka, village of Velykyi Burluk) were damaged.
In Izium region, power lines, a car, and four cars belonging to a municipal enterprise (Borova settlement) were damaged.
In Bohodukhiv region, a private house, farm buildings, and power lines (village of Tymofiivka) were damaged.
Other
The transit evacuation centre in Lozova took in 67 people in one day. 44 people remained. A total of 2,871 people have been registered at the centre since it began operating.
Donetsk oblast
Frontline
According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the russian army carried out 54 attacks towards Pokrovsk over the past day. The occupiers stormed north of the city near Volodymyrivka and in the direction of Zolote Kolodiaz and Vilne, and attacks were also recorded in the south-east near Dachne and Kotlyne.
Over the past day, russian troops carried out more than 30 attacks towards Novopavlivka, more than 10 of which were in the direction of Lyman, Siversk and near Toretsk.
Maksym Bilousov, Head of the communications department of the 60th Mechanised Brigade, said that towards Lyman, russian troops are trying to infiltrate the positions of the Defence Forces in small assault groups and use their numerical superiority.
The occupiers have also resumed attempts to break through to the Armed Forces’ positions on motorcycles.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed the destruction of two russian command posts in the temporarily occupied Donetsk oblast: the “Centre” troop group and the 41st Combined Arms Army of the russian Armed Forces. Strikes on these locations were carried out on 8 September and hit russian army personnel, including the command.
On 8 September, local residents of the temporarily occupied Donetsk reported explosions in the area of the Topaz plant.
Attacks
Horbunov, Head of the CMA, said that two people were injured due to russian combined shelling of Kostiantynivka. Russian troops struck the city at night with aerial bombs and barrel artillery.

On 15 September, the police recorded 2,043 enemy shellings along the front line and in residential areas.
14 settlements were under attack: Dobropillia, Druzhkivka, Kostiantynivka, Kramatorsk, Lyman, Siversk, Sloviansk, Oleksiievo-Druzhkivka, Sviatohirivka, Ivanivka, Illinivka, Komyshuvakha, Pryvillia, and Riznykivka.
64 civilian objects were destroyed, including 30 residential buildings.
The russians launched 12 strikes on Kostiantynivka, including six bombings, killing one civilian and injuring two others. Seven apartment buildings and 15 private houses, three administrative buildings, a pharmacy, six garages, and three civilian cars were damaged.
Nine people were wounded in Druzhkivka, which the enemy attacked with 11 Geran-3, Gerbera, and FPV drones. Two apartment buildings, a shop, a garage, seven civilian vehicles, a bus, and a tractor were damaged.
In Oleksiievo-Druzhkivka, two people were injured and two private houses, a shop, a post office, and a civilian car were damaged as a result of drone strikes.
One person was injured in Riznykivka, Sivers community, due to artillery shelling.
In Kramatorsk, FPV drones and Molniya-2 UAVs were spotted, damaging a private home. In Sloviansk, two Geran-2 UAVs struck and damaged a non-residential building.
Russian troops sent five FPV drones to Lyman, damaging a private house, a garage, a civilian car and a bus. A private home was damaged in Illinivka.
In Dobropillia, an enemy FPV drone damaged an apartment building. In Sviatohorivka, two drones struck and damaged a private house and a shop.

Ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets reported that Svitlana Holovan, who was released from russian captivity on 14 August after six years in captivity, met her daughters Anna and Sofiia for the first time.

According to the Proliska humanitarian mission’s Facebook page, pensioner Olena walked out of the frontline town of Rodynske. Together with a friend, she reached Dobropillia, from where volunteers evacuated them to a transit point.
Luhansk oblast
Occupation forces carried out 16 artillery strikes on our section of the front line. They used 38 unmanned aerial vehicles and FPV drones, targeting surrounding villages and Ukrainian defensive fortifications. The enemy attempted to advance in Hrekivka. In total, they attacked 34 times towards Lyman and Siversk.
Three years ago, the so-called “lpr” promised to abolish border checks with the russian Federation. Since then, almost nothing has changed. Those wishing to travel to the russian Federation gather in long queues. The occupiers carefully check both belongings and documents.
Lutuhyne and nearby settlements were captured back in 2014. But in 11 years, the russians have paid no attention to the city’s infrastructure. Water problems arose there due to the emergency condition of the main pipeline. The invaders say that the replacement of an 11 km section will only begin in 2027, if the 14th year of occupation begins.
What is happening now in the north of Ukraine
Kyiv oblast
According to the RMA, at night, the enemy attacked peaceful settlements in Kyiv oblast with drones . As a result of the enemy attack in the Fastiv district, four private houses, an educational institution, hangars, warehouses, and an administrative building of a logistics centre, 27 cars, and eight semi-trailers were damaged.
During the night, rescuers extinguished a vehicle fire on the territory of a shopping centre. While extinguishing the fire, the enemy attacked again. Two State Emergency Service vehicles were damaged. No personnel were injured.

In the Fastiv region, during an enemy attack in the morning, a fire broke out in storage facilities on the territory of a logistics centre. After an enemy drone struck in the Kyiv oblast, it took rescuers more than 10 hours to extinguish the fire. The fire covered an area of 17,000 square metres. About 400 rescuers, more than 100 pieces of equipment, two helicopters, a fire train, and four firefighting robots were involved in extinguishing the fire.

According to the RMA, two power lines were damaged as a result of the russian attack. Thanks to backup channels, consumers were quickly reconnected. About 500 subscribers were temporarily left without power. Power supply has now been fully restored.
As a result of the attack by russian drones on Kyiv oblast, a large-scale fire broke out at the logistics centre of the Epicentre company. According to the company’s statement, dozens of network facilities in various regions of Ukraine have been destroyed during the full-scale war. According to independent experts, the total damage to the Epicentre group of companies caused by military aggression exceeded $1 billion.
Zhytomyr oblast
Three communities in Zhytomyr oblast will receive UAH 68.6 million in funding for infrastructure projects under the Ukraine Recovery Programme III. This was announced by the Ministry of Community and Territorial Development of Ukraine. In particular, UAH 2 million is earmarked for the reconstruction of a water treatment plant in the Ushomyr territorial community, and another UAH 2 million for the construction of a sewerage network in Zviahel. The largest amount of funding, UAH 64.5 million, will be received by Zhytomyr for the reconstruction of four boiler rooms with the installation of cogeneration units.
On 16 September, a canine therapy session was held at one of Zhytomyr’s medical facilities for military personnel undergoing treatment. The event was part of the All-Ukrainian mental health programme ‘How are you?’.
Sumy oblast
The enemy carried out a massive strike with attack drones on the outskirts of Sumy community. At least five impacts were recorded in Zarichchia district of Sumy.
Earlier, russian forces attacked Sumy with UAVs. According to Serhii Kryvosheienko, the Head of the City Military Administration, one strike hit a warehouse building, causing a fire. Another strike left part of the residents in Zarichchia district without power supply, and one of the city’s water intakes was also cut off.
The Regional Military Administration reported that over the past 24 hours, from the morning of 15 September to the morning of 16 September, russian forces carried out 97 attacks on 51 settlements in 17 territorial communities of the oblast. The highest number of strikes were recorded in Sumy and Shostka districts. The enemy actively used guided aerial bombs (over 10 strikes), UAVs (over 10 strikes), FPV drones, and dropped VOG grenades from drones.
Casualties among civilians:
- In Trostianets community, a 75-year-old woman and two men aged 40 and 51 were injured. Later, two more people — a 16-year-old boy and a 30-year-old woman — sought medical help. A 12-year-old boy received assistance on site.
- In Yunakivka community, a 69-year-old man and a 75-year-old woman were injured when an FPV-drone struck a car.
- In Sumy community, a 29-year-old woman was injured by drone fragments during the interception of an enemy UAV.
Damage to civilian infrastructure:
- In Sumy community, a civilian infrastructure facility and non-residential buildings were damaged.
- In Bilopillia community, a private house and a civilian car were damaged.
- In Myropilia community, an excavator was damaged.
- In Vorozhba community, non-residential buildings and infrastructure property were damaged.
- In Druzhba community, damage was recorded in the private sector.
- In Seredyna-Buda community, a private house was destroyed.
- In Trostianets community, a civilian infrastructure facility, apartment buildings, non-residential buildings, and cars were damaged.
During the day, local authorities, together with the State Emergency Service, National Police, and public organisations, evacuated 59 people from border communities.
Chernihiv oblast
Viacheslav Chaus, Head of the Regional Military Administration, reported that on the evening of 16 September, the enemy attacked Semenivka by Grad multiple launch rocket systems, targeting residential houses, cars, the forestry enterprise, and a hospital. More than 10 explosions were recorded. The shelling caused fires in several locations and led to significant destruction. A 74-year-old local resident was injured.


Oleksandr Seliverstov, Head of Novhorod-Siverskyi Regional Military Administration, said that in the morning of 16 September, the russian army dropped explosives from a drone on a private household in Arkhipivka village, Semenivka community. As a result, the house where a family of three lives was damaged.
Chernihiv Border Detachment informed that during the day of 15 September, russian forces attacked three border communities of Chernihiv oblast: Semenivka, Snovsk, and Horodnia. The enemy carried out mortar shelling (35 explosions) and artillery shelling (12 explosions), launched FPV-drones (11 explosions), and dropped explosive devices from UAVs (5 explosions). Eleven villages came under enemy fire.
According to the Regional Military Administration, seven veterans from Chernihiv oblast will represent Ukraine at the international Strong Spirit’s Games for veterans, to be held in Madrid, Spain, from 25 to 29 September. The Ukrainian national team will participate in the tournament for the second time. All athletes are veterans and servicemen who took part in combat and endured the trials of war.
Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine
Dnipropetrovsk oblast
Air defence forces were active in the oblast, shooting down 3 enemy UAVs.
From evening until morning, the occupiers attacked Nikopol region by drones and artillery. Strikes targeted the regional centre, Marhanets and Pokrovske communities. 4 private houses, a utility building, infrastructure facilities and a power line were damaged. Synelnykove region came under attack by drones, with strikes recorded in Pokrovske, Mezhova and Malomykhailivka communities. A 41-year-old man was injured. Fires broke out, destroying private houses and a garage.
During the day, around 40 strikes were recorded in Nikopol region by drones and artillery. The regional centre, Myrove, Chervonohryhorivka, Marhanets and Pokrov communities were targeted. In Nikopol, women aged 76, 56 and 68 were injured in artillery shelling; they received medical assistance. Fires broke out, destroying a utility building and a greenhouse, while 6 private houses, 3 utility buildings, an enterprise, a garage, infrastructure, a gas pipeline and power lines were damaged.
Synelnykove region was attacked by drones, with strikes recorded in Pokrov and Mezhova communities. Fires broke out, with damage reported to a private house and a vehicle.
Vinnytsia oblast
Mayor Serhii Morhunov reported that Vinnytsia oblast delivered 2 vehicles and a powerful generator to the military, together with coordinators of the Interregional Humanitarian Headquarters. These resources were provided to the Military Law and Order Service, which performs essential tasks: maintaining order within the military, protecting strategic facilities and escorting columns of equipment and cargo. These are functions that directly impact the security and logistics of the frontline.
Kirovohrad oblast
In Kropyvnytskyi, a mourning cortege arrived with the body of fallen soldier Artem Chytaiev. He was killed on 9 September 2025 in Zakytne village, Kramatorsk region, Donetsk oblast. He was 27 years old.
Poltava oblast
On 9 September, Junior Sergeant Oleksandr Sharpar from Karlivka was killed in action in Kupiansk region. He served as a section commander in the divisional headquarters unit and had been awarded the Order For Courage III Class.
In Poltava, a memorial ceremony was held for 2 servicemen, Oleh Maliar and Oleh Tytarenko. Oleh Maliar was killed on 2 June 2024 while performing assigned tasks in Luhansk oblast. Oleh Tytarenko was killed on 2 July 2024 in Donetsk oblast.
Cherkasy oblast
Ihor Taburets, Head of Cherkasy RMA, stated that during the night, 10 Shahed drones were destroyed over Cherkasy oblast. There were no casualties or damage reported.
In Ruska Poliana village, a memorial plaque was unveiled in honor of fallen defender and school graduate, Oleksandr Dychenko. He was killed on 6 September 2024 while carrying out a combat mission in Pokrovsk region, Donetsk oblast.
In Smila city, a memorial ceremony was held for defender Yurii Borys. He served as a squad commander and vehicle commander in a mechanised battalion. He was killed on 3 October 2024 in kursk oblast while on a combat mission.
Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine
Zaporizhzhia oblast
Ivan Fedorov, Head of Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, reported that today, russian forces attacked a civilian car by an FPV drone near Tavriiske village in Zaporizhzhia oblast. The driver and a passenger were injured.
During the night of 16 September, russian troops launched at least 10 strikes on Zaporizhzhia. 20 people were injured, including 2 children who remain in intensive care. Their condition is serious but stable. All the injured have received medical assistance. Damage was reported to 10 high-rise buildings, 12 private houses, non-residential buildings, school and preschool facilities.

On 15 September, russian forces carried out 540 attacks on 16 towns and villages across Zaporizhzhia oblast. In particular, multiple launch rocket systems were used 17 times to strike Zaporizhzhia, Kushuhum, Huliaipole and Novodanylivka.
Mykolaiv oblast
Vitalii Kim, Head of the RMA, stated that during the night of 16 September, 12 enemy attack drones were destroyed over Mykolaiv oblast.
On the evening of 15 September, russian forces attacked a farm in Chornomorka community by a drone. A 58-year-old tractor driver was killed while working in the field. Agricultural machinery was destroyed and a nearby farm building damaged.
According to the RMA, yesterday, the enemy carried out 11 FPV drone strikes on Ochakiv city. 6 private houses and 2 2-storey buildings were damaged. There were no casualties reported.
Odesa oblast
Based on the information provided by the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as of the morning of 16 September, no russian ships were present in the Black Sea.
Kherson oblast
Referring to the Regional Military Administration, at around 6pm, russian forces carried out an airstrike on Inhulets in Kherson oblast. An elderly couple suffered concussions, blast and craniocerebral injuries. They refused hospitalisation.
The Prosecutor’s Office informed that at around 4:15pm, Kherson came under attack. 1 man was killed.
Relying on the information provided by Kherson CMA, at around 1pm, russian forces struck Korabelnyi district of Kherson. A 32-year-old man sustained a concussion, blast and closed craniocerebral trauma. He is currently hospitalised.
Also around 1pm, shelling of Kherson injured 2 men. Both were hospitalised with blast injuries and concussions.
In the morning, a 44-year-old woman in Komyshany village near Kherson was injured in shelling. She sustained a concussion and blast injury.
The RMA reported that during the night, a 63-year-old resident of Bilozirka was wounded in a russian strike. He was hospitalised with a blast injury, concussion and brain trauma.
Air defense units shot down two Russian Shahed-131/136 drones over the region during the night, the Head of the Regional Military Administration, Oleksandr Prokudin, confirmed.
Oleksandr Prokudin, Head of the RMA, stated that on 15 September, 2 people were killed and 6 injured as a result of russian shelling of Kherson oblast. 32 settlements came under attack. Damage was reported to 2 high-rise buildings, 17 private houses and several vehicles.
The police reported that last evening, russian troops attacked a vehicle of an international humanitarian organisation near the entrance to Dariivka. 2 aid workers were injured. In Bilozirka, an FPV drone strike targeted a police service car, injuring a 23-year-old police officer who sustained a concussion and a shrapnel wound to his arm.

Volyn oblast

The 9th culinary master class of Zakarpattia Gastronomic Workshop was held in Velyka Dobron. Lviv oblast
Lviv oblast sent 74 FPV drones and batteries for them to defenders. The total cost of the assistance is UAH 1 million, of which Lviv RMA reimbursed 50%.
Senior soldier Volodymyr Namastyrnyk, from Slavsk, Strii region, was awarded the Cross of Honor. The soldier defends the state in the ranks of the 18th Slavic Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine.
A charity concert was held by amateur artists from the People’s House of the village of Ulichne, where they raised over UAH 11,000 for the military. In the village of Strona Skhidnytska community, the Song Leading to Victory charity event was held, where they raised UAH 70,000 for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Rivne oblast
The 9th Border Guard Detachment named after Sich Riflemen received a modern domestically produced snow and swamp vehicle thanks to the budget funds.
Ternopil oblast
The 35th Separate Rifle Battalion received 5 Canon multifunctional devices from Ternopil community.
Khmelnytskyi oblast
Khmelnytskyi community sent a UAV complex, including control systems, antennas, aircraft and a number of additional elements, worth over UAH 8.5m to the military.
Chernivtsi oblast
Denys Perch, Commander of the Chernivtsi company of the Favorit strike and reconnaissance UAVs of the Bukovyna 107th Brigade of the Territorial Defense Forces, was awarded the Bukovyna Cross of Honor and Dignity honorary distinction.
International support of Ukraine in the russian-Ukrainian war (russia’s invasion of Ukraine)
Denmark launched a three-year program for Ukraine worth EUR 375m. It aims at recovery, energy security, green transition and support for reforms for Ukraine’s accession to the EU.
The European Union extended sanctions against russia for another 6 months. Sanctions continue to apply to over 2,500 individuals and legal entities.
