Over the past 24 hours, a total of 234 combat engagements were recorded.
Yesterday, Russian forces launched two missile strikes using 31 missiles and carried out 91 airstrikes, dropping 298 guided aerial bombs. In addition, the occupiers deployed 11,083 kamikaze drones and conducted 3,343 attacks on populated areas and Ukrainian military positions.
The enemy carried out an airstrike near the settlement of Zelenyi Hai in Sumy Oblast.
Over the past day, the Ukrainian Air Force, Missile Forces, and Artillery of the Defense Forces struck 15 enemy troop concentration areas, one unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) command post, and one command and observation post.
In the North Slobozhanskyi and Kursk sectors, Ukrainian defenders repelled four enemy assaults over the past day. At the same time, the aggressor launched four airstrikes using 12 guided aerial bombs and carried out 61 attacks on Ukrainian positions and populated areas, including four using multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS).
In the South Slobozhanskyi sector, Ukrainian units repelled 21 enemy attacks. Russian forces attempted to advance near Starytsia, Dihtiarne, Izbytske, and Kozacha Lopan, as well as toward Volokhivka, Radkivka, and Ivashchyne.
In the Kupiansk sector, the enemy conducted no assault operations over the past day.

In the Oleksandrivka sector, Russian troops launched four attacks toward the settlements of Myrne and Rybne.
In the Huliaipole sector, the occupiers attacked 14 times. The enemy attempted to advance near Zaliznychne and Hirke, as well as toward Charivne, Vozdvyzhivka, and Tsvitkove.

As of 4:00 p.m., Russian troops had made three attempts to break through Ukrainian defenses toward Hoptivka, Nesterne, and Anyskyno. Two engagements were still ongoing. In the Kupiansk sector, the enemy launched one attack toward Kivsharivka.
Shelling
August 2
At approximately 3:30 p.m., Russia struck a civilian vehicle with an FPV drone on the Zolochiv–Maksymivka road near Berezivka in the Zolochiv community. The vehicle was damaged, but no injuries were reported, according to the head of the community, Viktor Kovalenko.
A Russian strike on the outskirts of Kharkiv killed one person. The attack ignited a fire at a postal terminal, destroying freight trucks, containers, and equipment.
At around 5:30 a.m., a Molniya drone attacked Odnorobivka in the Zolochiv community. A private house was destroyed, while a single-story two-family residential building, several private homes, and outbuildings were damaged. No casualties were reported.
In Savyntsi, a Russian strike damaged the local House of Culture. Library collections, musical equipment, furniture intended for a kindergarten, humanitarian aid supplies, and the auditorium’s equipment were destroyed. The building has been declared structurally unsafe and is at risk of collapse.

At approximately 12:20 p.m., a Geran-3 drone struck a transportation company in Pisochyn. Employees were on site at the time of the attack, but no one was injured.
In Kharkiv’s Novobavarskyi district, a Russian drone hit the grounds of a private household. In the Mala Danylivka community, a Geran-3 UAV struck a road, damaging a garden house and several outbuildings. According to preliminary reports, there were no casualties.
In Izium, authorities recorded two strikes by a Banderol missile-drone—one on the premises of an enterprise and another in an open area. Following the attack, 325 electricity consumers were left without power.

August 1
According to the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Russian forces attacked Kharkiv and 19 other settlements in the region. Ten people were injured, including three children.
In Kharkiv, four people suffered acute stress reactions, including a 13-year-old boy and an eight-year-old girl. In Lohachivka, two women aged 75 and 65 were injured. In Burbulatove, a 17-year-old boy was wounded. In Tsyrkuny, a 39-year-old man was injured, and in Zolochiv, a 40-year-old man was wounded. Between Tsupivka and Prudianka, two women aged 74 and 73 sustained injuries.
Russian drones attacked Shevchenkivskyi, Industrialnyi, Saltivskyi, and Kyivskyi districts of Kharkiv. Over the course of the day, the enemy used two missiles, three guided aerial bombs (KABs), 14 Geran-2 UAVs, eight Molniya UAVs, ten FPV drones, and another 24 drones of unidentified types.
Damage was reported to residential buildings, warehouses, fuel stations, service stations, a garage cooperative, vehicles, an emergency medical vehicle, a bus, administrative and educational buildings, a medical facility, a House of Culture, postal and railway infrastructure, power grids, and other civilian facilities in Kharkiv and five districts of the region.
Other
Throughout July, Russian forces attacked Kharkiv 109 times, including 51 attacks using FPV drones. In 45 cases, the drones detonated, while six did not explode.
The transit evacuation center in Lozova received 218 people in one day. Since the beginning of its operation, 49,359 evacuees have been registered there.
After the expansion of the mandatory evacuation zone, 70 to 90 people leave the Shevchenkivska community every day—ten times more than before. Around 7,000 residents remain in the community, which regularly comes under attack from guided aerial bombs, drones, and missiles.
In Sloviansk, despite shelling and power outages, a ceramics production facility using local red clay continues operating. Before the full-scale invasion, up to 100 people worked there across three workshops; today, only five employees remain in one workshop. The products are shipped throughout Ukraine and exported abroad.

In the Pokrovsk sector, the Defense Forces repelled 27 Russian attacks. In the Kostiantynivka sector, 19 combat engagements were recorded.
In the Lyman sector, Russian forces carried out 16 assaults near Lyman, Dibrova, Ozerne, and Novomykhailivka, as well as toward Drobysheve, Novoserhiivka, Andriivka, Shyikivka, and Novoselivka.

In the Kostiantynivka sector, Russian forces are attempting to disrupt the logistics of Ukraine’s Defense Forces. The enemy is using fixed-wing drones, including Molniya UAVs, which can operate at distances of up to 40 kilometers.

At around 11:00 a.m., Russian aircraft struck the central part of Sloviansk. A man was injured and is currently undergoing surgery.
August 1
According to the police, Russian forces carried out 1,291 strikes on the frontline and residential areas of Donetsk Oblast. Six settlements came under fire. Two people were killed and four others were injured. A total of 30 civilian facilities were damaged, including 19 residential buildings.
Druzhkivka was attacked by Russian forces using two KAB-250 guided aerial bombs and drones. Two people were killed and two others were injured. Nine private houses were damaged.
Kramatorsk came under attack 14 times, mostly by drones. One person was injured. Damage was reported to five apartment buildings, two hospitals, a shopping center, a hotel, non-residential premises, an infrastructure facility, and two vehicles.
The Sloviansk community was attacked three times, including with an FPV drone and a Molniya-2 UAV. One person was injured, and two private houses were damaged.
In Raihorodok, two private houses were damaged; in Samiilivka, one house was damaged; and in Krasnotorka, a bus was damaged.
Luhansk oblast
Combat Operations
Russian forces carried out 18 explosive drops from drones, four FPV drone attacks, and four mortar shellings in Luhansk Oblast. In the Lyman sector, Ukraine’s Defense Forces repelled 16 enemy assaults near nine settlements.
Occupation
The occupation authorities have still not begun construction of any of the six landfills announced back in 2022. Some projects have been frozen, while for the waste processing facility in Antratsyt, documentation is only planned to be developed by the end of 2027.
Alchevsk and Perevalsk have once again been left without water supply for an indefinite period. In Bryanka and Kadiivka, water distribution has been reduced by 80%. The occupation administration has not provided any timeline for restoration and has not organized the delivery of drinking water.
What is happening now in the north of Ukraine
Kyiv oblast
In the Brovary district, a fire broke out in warehouse facilities as a result of an enemy attack during the night of August 2. Emergency responders quickly extinguished the blaze, according to the Kyiv Regional Military Administration. Later reports confirmed that Russian forces had attacked the largest Rozetka warehouse in Brovary for the second time in one day. Two drones struck the building. No casualties were reported.
In Kyiv, efforts to eliminate the consequences of the Russian attack were completed, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine reported on the evening of August 1. As a result of Russian strikes on the capital, 9 people were killed and 33 people were injured, including 4 children. Emergency Service rescuers managed to save 105 people.

During the Russian strike on Kyiv, a student of the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy (NaUKMA) was killed after she went to the impact site during the night of August 1 to help the injured. Russia launched a second strike on the same location where rescuers and volunteers had arrived.
Vitalina Yarovenko was a fourth-year student of Psychology at NaUKMA and an instructor with the Kyiv-Mohyla Academy Training Program.
As a result of the Russian attack on the night of August 1, the main warehouse of Rozum Publishing House in Vyshneve, Kyiv Oblast, was destroyed by fire. The blaze destroyed 200,000 board games. The estimated losses amount to UAH 25–30 million. No deaths or injuries were reported, according to the publishing house.

In Kyiv, protective structures are being removed from monuments. The process of uncovering the Lesia Ukrainka monument has already begun. Earlier, protective coverings were removed from the monuments to Princess Olha and Mykola Lysenko. The Kyiv City State Administration (KMDA) explained that sandbags and modular protective structures no longer provide effective protection against modern missiles and, due to moisture and poor ventilation, may themselves damage the monuments.
The Slavutych community has received 14 modern energy storage systems for educational institutions, social facilities, and critical infrastructure sites, according to the regional administration. The project was implemented within the framework of Germany’s Winter Aid package (BMZ/GIZ).
Zhytomyr oblast
The damage caused by air emissions resulting from Russian attacks in mid-July 2026 in Zhytomyr Oblast amounts to more than UAH 105,000, the State Environmental Inspectorate of the Polissia District reported on July 31.
According to environmental authorities, the assessment included the consequences of the attacks on July 14–16 targeting fuel stations and critical infrastructure facilities in the region. Fires caused by the strikes resulted in the release of unregulated emissions of pollutants into the atmosphere.
Sumy oblast
The Regional Military Administration reported that on the morning of 2 August, the enemy carried out six guided aerial bomb strikes on Sumy community. The impacts in Kovpakivskyi district damaged infrastructure facilities, non-residential premises and vehicles.
The State Emergency Service informed that firefighters extinguished a fire by the morning following an overnight enemy attack on civilian infrastructure in Sumy. A strike UAV hit a civilian infrastructure facility in Sumy community during the night of 2 August, partially destroying a non-residential building.
Accoring to Sumy Regional Military Administration, a 47-year-old woman who had been injured in the enemy attack on Romny community on 30 July died in hospital.
From the morning of 1 August to the morning of 2 August, russian forces carried out 90 attacks on 34 settlements across 19 territorial communities of the oblast. The highest number of attacks was recorded in Sumy and Shostka regions. The enemy used mortars, artillery, multiple launch rocket systems, FPV drones, UAVs and guided aerial bombs. Air raid alerts in the oblast lasted for 21 hours and 28 minutes during the reporting period.
The Regional Military Administration reported that one person was killed and eight civilians were affected by enemy attacks across Sumy oblast over the past 24 hours. Destruction and damage were also recorded:
▪️ In Sumy community, a 31-year-old woman was injured in a drone strike. Non-residential premises were damaged;
▪️ In Hlukhivka community, a 53-year-old man was wounded in an enemy UAV strike. An administrative building and a civilian infrastructure facility were damaged;
▪️ In Yampil community, a 57-year-old man sustained injuries when an enemy UAV struck a house, and a 12-year-old boy was injured. A private residential house and a civilian infrastructure facility were damaged;
▪️ In Berezivka community, a 28-year-old man was injured in an enemy drone strike. A private passenger vehicle was damaged;
▪️ In Konotop community, a 55-year-old woman was affected in an enemy UAV strike;
▪️ In Boromlia community, men aged 33 and 65 were injured after a vehicle hit an enemy explosive device;
▪️ In Mykolaivka rural community, a private residential house was damaged;
▪️ In Putyvl community, a civilian infrastructure facility, a non-residential premises and a vehicle were damaged;
▪️ In Shostka community, vehicles were damaged;
▪️ In Bilopillia community, a shop building and a non-residential premises were damaged;
▪️ In Seredyna-Buda community, a private residential house was destroyed and other private residential houses were damaged;
▪️ In Buryn community, civilian infrastructure facilities and a vehicle were damaged;
▪️ In Velyka Pysarivka community, a private residential house was damaged.
During the reporting period, local authorities, together with units of the State Emergency Service, National Police and non-governmental organisations, evacuated 21 people from border communities.
Chernihiv oblast
The State Border Guard Service’s Northern Border unit reported on its Facebook page that Chernihiv border guards shot down a russian ZALA Z-20 reconnaissance UAV at a record altitude of 6,858 metres. The interception was carried out by operators of a STING FPV interceptor. It is currently the highest confirmed interception among all units in Chernihiv oblast.
The Regional Military Administration informed that on the evening of 1 August, russian forces struck the grounds of a filling station in Semenivka by an FPV drone. According to Oleksandr Seliverstov, Head of Novhorod-Siverskyi District Military Administration, a fibre-optic FPV drone attack on the town at around 8pm. also sparked a fire on the premises of an agricultural enterprise.
Viacheslav Chaus, Head of Chernihiv Regional Military Administration, said that on 1 August, the enemy struck an energy infrastructure facility in the oblast.
The Regional Military Administration reported that on the evening of 1 August, russian forces attacked a woodworking enterprise in Koriukivka by Heran and Herbera drones. Five strikes were recorded, damaging a workshop and a hangar.
Chernihiv Border Guard Detachment informed that on 1 August, russian forces attacked four border communities in Chernihiv oblast: Novhorod-Siverskyi, Semenivka, Horodnia and Snovsk. The enemy carried out mortar attacks (6 explosions), Shahed-type UAV strikes (2 explosions), FPV drone attacks (6 explosions), and dropped explosive devices from UAVs (6 explosions).
Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine
Dnipropetrovsk oblast
Mykola Lukashuk, Head of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast Council, reported that seven men were injured in Marhanets community. The occupiers attacked the regional centre, Marhanets, Pokrovske rural and Tomakivka communities by drones and artillery. Fires broke out. A filling station, an agricultural enterprise, a tractor and a vehicle were damaged.
A private residential house and a vehicle were damaged in a UAV attack on Ukrainske community.
In Marhanets, three people were injured: two women and one man. The occupiers attacked the regional centre, Marhanets, Pokrovske rural and Tomakivka communities by drones, UAVs and artillery. Fires broke out. An apartment building, a private residential house, two shops, an enterprise, five vehicles and a disused building were damaged.
Vasylkivka community was struck by three guided aerial bombs. Two people were killed. A private residential house caught fire.
The enemy also launched FPV drone strikes on Shakhtarske and Pokrovskе communities, causing fires. Raivska community was attacked by UAVs, setting a field on fire.
Vinnytsia oblast
A resident of Lozova village, Ruslan Hrynchak, was killed in the russian attack on Kyiv on 1 August. He worked for the company Autostrada.
Poltava oblast
During the morning, enemy UAVs struck two industrial enterprises and a critical infrastructure facility in Poltava region. The attack caused temporary emergency power and gas supply outages.
Following the strike on the oblast’s critical infrastructure, there was a risk of a leak from a storage tank containing substances listed as hazardous chemicals. Thanks to the prompt response of emergency services, there is no threat to the public or the environment.

Zaporizhzhia oblast
This evening, 2 August, russian forces launched two guided aerial bomb (KAB) strikes on Zaporizhzhia. The first strike hit a private residential area. While emergency responders were clearing the rubble, russia struck the city again, this time targeting residential high-rise buildings. According to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, a balcony in an apartment building and two vehicles caught fire, while the blast wave damaged neighboring buildings and 12 vehicles. Warehouses were also damaged, and a fire broke out in an open area. One person was killed and 23 others were injured.
Earlier today, russian forces also struck Zaporizhzhia. A multi-story residential building was damaged, and a woman was injured. In addition, two people were injured in an attack on Zaporizhzhia region.

According to the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, on 1 August russian occupying forces carried out 954 strikes on 54 settlements across Zaporizhzhia oblast. russian troops launched 18 airstrikes on Zaporizhzhia, Malokaterynivka, Shevchenkivske, Samiilivka, Zelene, Barvynivka, Liubytske, Zorivka, Serhiivka, Sofiivka, Soniachne, Svoboda, Yehorivka, Preobrazhenka, Chervona Krynytsia, Novosoloshyne, and Vasynivka. 676 drones of various types, primarily FPV drones, targeted Zaporizhzhia, Kushuhum, Raiske, Bilenke, Bekarivka, Tavriiske, Bohatyrivka, Adrianivka, Mariivka, Novopavlivka, Stepnohirsk, Prymorske, Stepove, Pavlivka, Lukianivske, Mali Shcherbaky, Orikhiv, Zaliznychne, Shcherbaky, Novodanylivka, Novoandriivka, Mala Tokmachka, Charivne, Bilohiria, Huliaipilske, Vozdvyzhivka, Rybne, Hirke, Novoselivka, Dobropillia, Pryluky, Staroukrainka, Sviatopetrivka, Tsvitkove, Preobrazhenka, Novoselivka, Kosivtseve, Nove Zaporizhzhia, Verkhnia Tersa, and Ternuvate. russian forces also carried out 260 artillery strikes on Stepnohirsk, Prymorske, Stepove, Pavlivka, Lukianivske, Mali Shcherbaky, Zaliznychne, Shcherbaky, Novodanylivka, Novoandriivka, Mala Tokmachka, Charivne, Bilohiria, Sviatopetrivka, Dobropillia, Pryluky, Rybne, Tsvitkove, Huliaipilske, and Staroukrainka. Authorities received 30 reports of damage to infrastructure, homes, and vehicles. One person was killed and another was injured as the result of the attacks on Zaporizhzhia region.
According to the General Staff, as of 4:00 pm on 2 August, Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled nine russian attacks towards Huliaipole near Vozdvyzhivka, Hirke, Charivne, and Novoselivka. On 1 August, Ukrainian forces repelled 14 russian attacks towards Huliaipole.
Mykolaiv oblast
According to Acting Head of Mykolaiv RMA Heorhii Reshetilov, on the morning of 2 August russian forces attacked Mykolaiv with a jet-powered Shahed drone. The series of strikes damaged a lyceum, school buses, and port infrastructure. Later in the day, the russian army launched two Shahed drone attacks on the port infrastructure of Mykolaiv region, damaging two civilian vessels.
Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration reported that on 1 August russian forces attacked the region throughout the day using Shahed/Gerbera attack drones. Port and transport infrastructure were targeted. In the city of Mykolaiv, a 32-year-old man was injured, and a civilian vessel was damaged. In Veselynove community, a 60-year-old man was injured.
Early on 2 August, the enemy twice attacked Snihurivka community with Molniya drones. The strikes damaged the windows of a private house and a gas station. According to Acting Head of Mykolaiv RmA Heorhii Reshetilov, a married couple was injured in the attack: a 66-year-old man and a 63-year-old woman.
During the day on 1 August, russian forces attacked Vesniane community with a Klin drone. Three people, including a child, were injured. A gas station and four vehicles were damaged.
Kherson oblast
Kherson Regional Military Administration reported that at approximately 3:30 pm on 2 August, russian forces attacked a civilian vehicle with a drone in Kherson’s Dniprovskyi district. A woman was killed at the scene, while two other people were injured.
At approximately 12:20 pm, russian forces attacked a man with a drone in Kherson’s Dniprovskyi district. The 52-year-old resident sustained blast injuries and shrapnel wounds to his arms and neck.
Kherson Regional Military Administration also reported that the number of people injured in yesterday’s russian airstrike on Kherson’s Tsentralnyi district rose to 20. Two additional victims were confirmed on 2 August.
On 2 August, Kherson RMA reported that at approximately 9:00 pm on 1 August, russian forces attacked a residential building in Dariivka with a drone. A 69-year-old woman sustained blast injuries and shrapnel wounds to her abdomen, arm, and leg.
At approximately 8:00 pm on 1 August, russian forces attacked Kherson’s Korabelnyi district with a drone. Two elderly people came under the strike.
A resident of Bilozerka sought medical treatment after being injured in a russian shelling attack the previous morning. The 58-year-old man was hospitalized with blast injuries and a concussion.
Kherson Regional Military Administration reported that on 1 August, the russian army attacked 35 settlements across Kherson oblast. As a result of the russian armed aggression, one woman was killed and 31 people were injured. russian forces repeatedly targeted residential neighborhoods, critical infrastructure, and social infrastructure with airstrikes, drones, and artillery. A gas pipeline, four apartment buildings, 72 private houses, a store, a library, and vehicles were damaged.
