On 8 July, the aggressor launched 57 attacks on the positions of the Defense Forces.
Artillery shellings of border areas continue. Korenok, Neskuchne, Volfyne, Yastrubshchyna, Ulanove, and Bachivsk in Sumy oblast came under fire. The enemy also launched airstrikes near Luzhky in Sumy oblast.
- Towards Northern Sloboda and Kursk: The Defense Forces stopped one enemy assault operation. At the same time, the occupiers carried out 20 shelling attacks on Ukrainian troop positions and settlements.
- Towards Southern Sloboda: Ukrainian soldiers successfully repelled two attacks in the vicinity of Hoptivka.
- Towards Kupiansk: Ukrainian defenders stopped one enemy attempt to advance near Kivsharivka.
- Towards Lyman: There were five attempts by the invaders to advance near Novoselivka, Shyikivka, Drobysheve, Yampol, and Lyman. One combat engagement is still ongoing.
- Towards Sloviansk: The occupiers made 14 attempts to push forward near Zakitne and in the vicinity of Kryva Luka, Rai-Oleksandrivka, and Riznykivka. Three combat engagements remain ongoing.
- Towards Kramatorsk: There were no enemy attempts to advance.
- Towards Kostiantynivka: There were 12 assault operations by the occupiers near Ivanopillia, Oleksandro-Shultyne, and Kostiantynivka. Two combat engagements are still ongoing.
- Towards Pokrovsk: The enemy made 16 attempts to push Ukrainian soldiers from their positions near the settlements of Rodynske, Dorozhne, Kotlyne, Udachne, Bilytske, Nykanorivka, and Novyi Donbas. One combat engagement is still ongoing.
- Towards Oleksandrivka: Ukrainian soldiers successfully repelled two attacks in the vicinity of Voskresenka.
- Towards Huliaipole: The Defense Forces successfully repelled 14 enemy attacks near Rybne, Vozdvyzhivka, Charivne, Novoselivka, Dobropillia, Verkhnia Tersa, Tsvitkove, and Kosivtseve.
- Towards Orikhiv: Ukrainian defenders stopped one enemy attempt to advance near Shcherbaky.
- Towards Kherson: There were no enemy attempts to advance.
In other directions, there were no significant changes in the situation. Ukrainian troops continue to deplete enemy forces along the entire line of contact and in the rear.
Ukrainian drones struck a key electricity supply point linking Russia to occupied Crimea. The target was the PP-2 “Crimea” substation, a critical component of the Kuban–Crimea energy bridge, which receives electricity from Russia via undersea power cables. This was reported by the Commander of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ Unmanned Systems Forces, Robert Brovdi.
The Ukrainian Air Force also reported the downing of a Russian Su-35 multirole fighter jet. Russia uses these aircraft to deliver guided aerial bombs (KABs) against Ukrainian Defense Forces’ positions and frontline Ukrainian cities.
Recent war events in the east of Ukraine
Kharkiv oblast
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reports about 271 combat engagements along the front line.
Towards Southern Sloboda: The russian army launched 12 attacks on the positions of the Defense Forces in the vicinity of Starytsia, Lyman, and Artilne, as well as in the directions of Kudievka and Khatnie.
Towards Kupiansk: The occupiers carried out two attacks—in the direction of Kupiansk-Vuzlovyi and Kivsharivka.
Viktor Trehubov, head of the communications management of the Khortytsia operational-strategic group of troops says that russian troops continue their attempts to break through to Kupiansk-Vuzlovyi and Kivsharivka, aiming to bisect the Ukrainian bridgehead on the left bank of the Oskil River. At the same time, they have been suffering significant losses for several consecutive months.

Kharkiv Oblast Military Administration reported that two people were killed and 42 others were injured in Nemyshlianskyi district of Kharkiv as a result of a russian strike.
According to Kharkiv Oblast Prosecutor’s Office, a fragment of an engine from a “Banderol” type munition, which is launched from Su-34 aircraft, was discovered among the debris at the strike site. Additionally, a russian drone attacked a gas station in the Kyivskyi district of Kharkiv in the morning, sparking a fire.

Kharkiv Regional Police reported that in Staryi Saltiv, a 79-year-old man was killed as a result of a russian drone strike. Another strike in the village destroyed a gas station.
Oleh Syniehubov, Head of Kharkiv Oblast Military Administration, reported that over the past day, Kharkiv and 12 other settlements in the region came under russian strikes. Two people were killed, and 35 others were injured, including six children.
- Kharkiv: A 54-year-old man was killed, and 32 people were injured, among whom were three girls aged 10 months, 2, and 9 years old, as well as three boys aged 4, 7, and 12 years old.
- Zolochiv: A 42-year-old man was wounded.
- Shyroke (Staryi Saltiv community): A 70-year-old woman and a 60-year-old man were injured.
- Staryi Saltiv: Another individual was killed.
- Odnorobivka: A 56-year-old woman and a 52-year-old man were hospitalized after being wounded during a russian drone attack on the evening of 7 July, the Head of Zolochiv Village Military Administration, Viktor Kovalenko, told Suspilne.
Over the past day, the russian army targeted Kharkiv’s Shevchenkivskyi, Kholodnohirskyi, Nemyshlianskyi, and Saltivskyi districts using a missile, KAB guided aerial bombs, and drones. In total, the occupiers deployed two missiles, two MLRS, seven KABs, nine Geran-2 UAVs, one Lancet drone, five Molniya UAVs, six FPV drones, and 16 unidentified drones.
According to Kharkiv Oblast Military Administration, the shelling attacks damaged residential houses, two medical facilities, an educational institution, a hotel, a restaurant, a church, two civilian enterprises, two gas stations, railway infrastructure, a farm, a cultural building, a guesthouse, power grids, and dozens of vehicles. These damages were recorded across Kharkiv, as well as in Bohodukhiv, Kupiansk, Izium, Kharkiv, and Chuhuiv regions.
Petro Tokar, Head of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Kharkiv Oblast, stated on air during a Suspilne broadcast that during the first week of July, russian troops launched more than 250 strikes on Kharkiv oblast using various types of weapons, 34 of which targeted Kharkiv directly.
Kharkiv Oblast Military Administration reported that the transit evacuation point in Lozova accommodated 220 people over the past day. Since it began operating, 44,596 evacuated individuals have been registered there/
Donetsk oblast
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reports that over the past day, the Defense Forces repelled 51 russian assaults towards Pokrovsk—compared to 36 the day before. Fighting continued near Ivanivka, Dorozhne, Hryshyne, Udachne, Muravka, Molodetske, Rodynske, and Novooleksandrivka, as well as in the direction of Vilne, Kucheriv Yar, Bilytske, Novyi Donbas, Shevchenko, Myrne, and Serhiivka. Towards Sloviansk, the russian army conducted an additional 27 attacks.
Lyman remains one of the primary targets of the russian army. The occupiers are attempting to break through to the city from the east and establish a foothold on its outskirts, utilizing a so-called “kill zone.” The situation also remains tense near Yampol, which has been under relentless pressure from russian forces for a long period but continues to hold the line.
According to Viktor Trehubov, Spokesperson for the Khortytsia operational-strategic group of troops, the russians view Lyman as a key element for creating a threat to the Slovyansk-Kramatorsk agglomeration.
Towards Kostiantynivka, russian troops have been building up forces and actively employing infiltration tactics for about four months, reported Eduard Bodniuk (callsign “Shtyk”), commander of the Black Raven strike drone company of the 93rd Separate Mechanized Brigade. According to him, the occupiers are deploying fresh assault units and UAV operators, heavily utilizing FPV drones, heavy drones for logistics, and guided aerial bombs.
The fiercest fighting continues on the outskirts of Kostiantynivka.
Donetsk Regional Police reported that over the day, they recorded 1,439 russian strikes along the front line and the residential sector. Ten settlements came under fire, damaging 29 civilian objects, including 14 residential houses.
- Krasnotorka: Four civilians were wounded, and three private houses and two cars were damaged as a result of strikes by three FPV drones and an Uragan MLRS.
- Spasko-Mykhailivka: One person was injured following a Molniya-2 UAV strike on a local outpatient clinic.
- Kindrativka: An FPV drone injured a peaceful resident.

In Kramatorsk, russian troops attacked with three drones, damaging a private house and a civilian car. In Bilenke, two private houses were damaged. The occupiers dropped 15 KAB-250 guided aerial bombs on Druzhkivka and targeted the city twice with FPV drones, damaging two cars. According to the Donetsk Regional Police, a cultural institution was damaged in Bilozerske, a private house and a canteen in Slovyansk, six private houses, an outbuilding, and a car in Bylbasivka, and a private enterprise in Ocheretyne.
The State Emergency Service of Donetsk Oblast reported that overnight, a russian FPV drone hit an outbuilding in Yasnohirka of the Kramatorsk community, sparking an 80-square-meter fire. Additionally, around 01:10, russian troops struck Sloviansk twice, damaging a private house and a truck.
Around 130,000 residents remain in the Ukrainian-controlled territory of Donetsk oblast. Since the beginning of July, about 1,700 people have evacuated outside the region, reported Dmytro Petlin, head of a department within the Civil Protection Department of the Donetsk Oblast Military Administration.
According to Yulia Ryzhakova, acting head of the Children’s Affairs Service of Donetsk Region Military AdministrationIn the five settlements where the mandatory evacuation of families with children is ongoing, 270 children remain. In total, 7,147 minors live in the Ukrainian-controlled territory of Donetsk oblast.
Donetsk Regional Police reported that police officers from the White Angel crew, together with Save Ukraine volunteers, evacuated 16 people from the Kramatorsk community, including seven children aged 6 to 16.

Luhansk oblast
Oleksii Kharchenko, Head of Luhansk Oblast Military Administration, reports that russian troops carried out 19 shelling attacks on Luhansk oblast. The occupiers deployed 16 ammunition drops from UAVs and one FPV drone, alongside shelling the positions of the Defense Forces with a mortar and an automatic grenade launcher. Towards Lyman, the russian army made 17 attempts to break through the Ukrainian defense lines, particularly near the village of Nadiia.
Due to an accident at a pumping station, a significant part of temporarily occupied Luhansk oblast has been left without a stable water supply. According to Luhansk Region Military Administration, water delivery has been completely halted to over two dozen settlements, including Perevalsk, Zorynsk, and Slovianoserbsk. In Alchevsk, Brianka, Kadiivka, and Irmino, the water supply has been reduced by 50–60%, and disruptions are also recorded in several districts of occupied Luhansk. The administration notes that the municipal crisis is further compounded by garbage disposal issues and poor sanitary conditions.
A critical humanitarian situation persists in temporarily occupied Sievierodonetsk. According to Luhansk Region Military Administration, despite statements from the occupation authorities, no restoration work is being conducted in the city, free mobile communication is unavailable, and local residents can only access the internet illegally at high prices. Residents also report harsh living conditions, a depressed morale, and restrictions on leaving the city.
What is happening now in the north of Ukraine
Kyiv oblast
According to the Kyiv City State Administration, on the morning and afternoon of 8 July, the russians attacked the capital several times with drones. As of 18:44, three people had been killed and 14 wounded in Kyiv as a result of the enemy attacks. Two emergency medical service staff – a paramedic and an emergency medical technician – were among the casualties. An enemy UAV crashed into a three-storey non-residential building near a market in the Desnianskyi district, whilst another drone exploded near a gas distribution station. Later, reports came in of a fire on the top floor of a high-rise building in the Desnianskyi district caused by a drone strike. Rescue workers evacuated a 17-year-old boy who had been injured from the building.
On the night of 8 July, russia launched ballistic missile strikes on Kyiv. One woman was killed and two people were injured as a result of this attack. The aftermath of the attack was observed in two districts of the capital. In the Desnianskyi district, the enemy fired 5–7 missiles at warehouse premises, causing a fire. In the Sviatoshynskyi district, an administrative building and storage facilities caught fire, whilst a garage co-operative was ablaze at another address. An administrative building and trams were also damaged as a result of the shelling. The woman’s body was found by rescue workers whilst they were extinguishing the fire in the administrative building in the Sviatoshynskyi district.

According to the State Emergency Service, work is ongoing in Kyiv to dismantle and clear the rubble of damaged buildings following the russian shelling, as of 10 am. According to the city prosecutor’s office, the strikes damaged warehouses storing food, perfumes, tobacco products, car parts and building materials in the Desnianskyi and Sviatoshynskyi districts. Trams and cars parked near the impact sites were damaged, along with windows in nearby houses.

According to the Kyiv City State Administration, as a result of the russian federation’s night-time shelling of Kyiv, the rolling stock of the Kyivpastrans municipal enterprise has been damaged. The damage involves 42 Polish-made trams. The damage was caused by a shockwave that shattered the windows on the rolling stock. It will take at least a week to repair the trams.
In Vyshneve, Kyiv oblast, work is underway to clear up the aftermath of the enemy attack on 6 July. According to the State Emergency Service, over 300 rescue workers and 84 pieces of equipment are operating at the scene. State Emergency Service specialists are clearing rubble and damaged structures, assisting residents and searching the area for explosive ordnance.

Mykola Kalashnyk, head of the Kyiv Regional State Administration, reported on the evening of 7 July that in Vyshneve, 91 houses had been completely destroyed as a result of the russian attack, whilst 47 houses require major repairs. Residents of these homes will have their properties rebuilt using funds from the state and regional budgets. Owners of 115 homes with minor damage will receive compensation to carry out repairs themselves, subject to state guarantees. Currently, 60 people are staying in temporary accommodation, with another 160 living with relatives and friends.
The government will allocate over 3 billion hryvnias from the state budget’s reserve fund to address the consequences of the russian federation’s attack on Vyshneve on 6 July. According to the Ministry of Community and Territorial Development, the funds will be used to restore housing and engineering infrastructure, and to pay compensation to people whose property was damaged as a result of the shelling. According to the Ministry, 280 residential buildings were damaged as a result of the russian strike in Vyshneve, of which 253 were private homes and 27 were blocks of flats.


According to a statement issued on 7 July by the Kyiv City State Administration’s Department of Environmental Protection and Climate Change Adaptation, efforts to clean up the pollution in Lake Kyrylivske are ongoing in Kyiv. Petroleum products and a fuel emulsion entered the lake as a result of a russian attack in the Obolon district on the night of 2 July. To date, specialists from the State Emergency Service have recovered 65 tonnes of the oil mixture. Nine floating skimmers are operating on the lake around the clock. According to preliminary estimates, work to collect the bulk of the oil products will continue for about five more days.
Zhytomyr oblast
Andriy Shyshkun, a recruiter for the 95th Separate Airborne Assault Brigade ‘Polissya’ of the Airborne Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, reported that a military recruitment centre has been operating in Zhytomyr for over two years now. Those interested can visit the centre to join the army, find out more about military service, and choose a role and military unit. During this time, over 2,600 people have approached the centre, with almost 1,500 of them joining the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Sumy oblast
Serhii Kryvosheienko, Head of Sumy City Military Administration, said that a man riding a bicycle was injured on the outskirts of Pishchane starosta district when a russian FPV drone struck. He was hospitalised and is in a satisfactory condition.
The State Emergency Service reported that Shostka community came under enemy UAV attack during the night. A private residential house was hit, causing a fire, which firefighters extinguished.
The State Emergency Service of Sumy oblast informed that two people were injured in an enemy attack on a residential area in Sumy regionvon 7 July. russian forces struck Mykolaivka settlement community. Residential houses and outbuildings caught fire. Firefighters worked simultaneously at two locations and extinguished all the fires.

According to the Regional Military Administration, from the morning of 7 July to the morning of 8 July, russian forces carried out more than 30 attacks on 16 settlements across 12 territorial communities in Sumy oblast. The highest number of attacks was recorded in Sumy and Shostka regions. The enemy used mortars, artillery, multiple launch rocket systems, FPV drones, UAVs and guided aerial bombs. Air raid alerts in the oblast lasted for 18 hours and 30 minutes during the reporting period.
The Regional Military Administration reported that, as of the morning of 8 July, six people had been injured in enemy attacks across Sumy oblast over the previous 24 hours. Destruction and damage to private residential houses, vehicles and civilian infrastructure facilities were also recorded:
▪️ In Sumy community, a 47-year-old man was injured in an enemy drone strike. Non-residential premises and a vehicle were damaged;
▪️ In Mykolaivka settlement community, women aged 67 and 64 were injured after an enemy UAV struck a house. A 21-year-old woman was also injured, while two 55-year-old women were affected. An apartment building, private residential houses, the buildings of a post office, a culture and leisure centre, educational institutions, shops, a medical facility, outbuildings, passenger vehicles, non-residential premises and civilian infrastructure facilities were damaged;
▪️ A 13-year-old girl sought medical assistance after being injured in an enemy drone strike in Bilopollia community on 1 July;
▪️ A 58-year-old man sought medical assistance after being injured in an enemy UAV strike in Chernechchyna community on 5 July;
▪️ A 57-year-old woman sought medical assistance after being injured in an enemy drone strike in Seredyna-Buda community on 28 June;
▪️ In Vorozhba community, a private residential house and a civilian infrastructure facility were damaged;
▪️ In Boromlia community, a civilian infrastructure facility was damaged;
▪️ In Mykolaivka rural community, a civilian infrastructure facility was damaged;
▪️ In Velyka Pysarivka community, private residential houses and an outbuilding were damaged;
▪️ In Hlukhiv community, non-residential premises, a private residential house and a civilian infrastructure facility were damaged;
▪️ In Khutir-Mykhailivskyi community, private residential houses were damaged, while a vehicle and a civilian infrastructure facility were destroyed;
▪️ In Esman community, private residential houses and outbuildings were destroyed;
▪️ In Znob-Novhorodske community, a civilian infrastructure facility was damaged;
▪️ In Shostka community, a civilian infrastructure facility was damaged;
▪️ In Svesa community, a civilian infrastructure facility was damaged.
Over the past 24 hours, local authorities, together with units of the State Emergency Service, the National Police and non-governmental organisations, evacuated 26 people from border communities.
Oleksandr Kryvtsov, a deer keeper at the Forests of Sumy hunting and fishing enterprise, reported that a shelter for evacuated animals is being established in Panasivka village in Romny region. The animals were relocated from the Forests of Sumy hunting and fishing enterprise, which had been located in Krasnopillia community. More than 100 animals were evacuated from areas under the threat of shelling, including red deer, fallow deer, sika deer, mouflons and wild boar.
Chernihiv oblast
Pavlo Miroshnychenko, Head of Koriukivka Regional Military Administration, reported that at around 5pm on 7 July, russian forces struck an infrastructure facility in Mena. A girl born in 2008 was injured in the attack.
Miroshnychenko also reported that, starting at around 4pm on 7 July, russians launched a massive attack on Snovsk town. A 46-year-old local resident sustained an arm injury. As of 11pm, a total of 12 strikes had been recorded in the town. Agricultural enterprises, municipal facilities, transport infrastructure and the private residential sector came under attack.

Chernihiv Border Guard Detachment reported that on 7 July, russian forces attacked three border communities in Chernihiv oblast: Novhorod-Siverskyi, Semenivka and Snovsk. The enemy carried out mortar attacks (2 explosions), artillery strikes (3 explosions), Molniya UAV strikes (2 explosions) and an FPV drone strike (1 explosion). Six settlements came under enemy fire.
Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine
Vinnytsia oblast
The deaths of twelve defenders from Vinnytsia oblast have been confirmed. They are Viktor Kuchma, Bohdan Motsnyi, Oleksandr Vasylenko, Ivan Yavorskyi, Vasyl Syrota, Vadym Bezhan, Ivan Hlazkov, Yaroslav Syvak, Vadym Hordiuk, Petro Omelchuk, Oleksandr Kolomiiets and Serhii Teniukh.
Dnipropetrovsk oblast
Nine enemy UAVs were shot down over the oblast.
Nikopol region. Four people were injured and received the necessary medical assistance. The occupiers used artillery and drones to attack the regional centre, Chervonohryhorivka, Pokrovske rural, Marhanets, Myrove and Mozolevk communities. Fires broke out. Three agricultural enterprises, a filling station and vehicles were damaged.
Kamianske region. UAV attacks caused fires in Zhovtovodka and Piatykhatka communities.
Pavlohrad region. Transport infrastructure caught fire in Pavlohrad.
Synelnykove region. Petropavlivka community came under attack.
Kryvyi Rih region. A UAV strike in Apostolove community set a wheat field on fire.
Nikopol region. A man and a woman were injured. The occupiers used artillery and drones to attack the regional centre, Chervonohryhorivka, Pokrovske rural, Marhanets and Myrove communities. A fire broke out. Five private residential houses, an apartment building, a gymnasium, a lyceum, a medical facility, an enterprise, two minibuses, a vehicle and gas pipelines were damaged.
Synelnykove region. Mykolaivka community came under attack.
Dnipro region. A UAV attack damaged an agricultural enterprise in Mykolaivka community. A morning attack damaged a post office in Slobozhanske community. A 35-year-old man was injured.
Pavlohrad region. According to updated information, a woman was injured in the enemy attack on Pavlohrad.
Kirovohrad oblast
Oleksandr Chelnyk, Head of the Municipal enterprise Teploenerhetyk, reported that Kropyvnytskyi plans to procure and install five modular boiler houses to distribute generation capacity and decentralise heat supply. The project will be implemented as part of the resilience plan, with funding for the modular boiler houses allocated from the reserve fund of the State Budget.
Poltava oblast
A serviceman of a Marine Corps battalion, Serhii Danko from Lubny, was killed on 2 July 2026 while carrying out a combat mission as a result of russian shelling near Manvelivka in Dnipropetrovsk oblast.
Junior Sergeant Viacheslav Tkachenko from Orzhytska community and Senior Soldier Artem Mandych from Reshetylivska community were killed while carrying out combat missions in Kursk oblast. Soldier Volodymyr Vavilov from Lubenska community was also killed in action in Dnipropetrovsk oblast.
Viacheslav Tkachenko was killed on 20 February 2025 while carrying out a combat mission as a result of russian artillery shelling towards Kursk. DNA testing confirmed his death at the front.
Artem Mandych was killed on 29 January 2025 as a result of russian artillery shelling towards Kursk. DNA testing confirmed his death at the front.
Volodymyr Vavilov was killed on 1 July 2026 while carrying out a combat mission during a firefight near Novopidhorodne in Dnipropetrovsk oblast.
During the night of 8 July, a russian UAV attacked a filling station in Poltava region. No casualties were reported.
Following a russian strike on an energy facility in Poltava oblast, around 8,500 consumers in 36 settlements were left without electricity. Emergency crews are working to restore the power supply.
In Poltava oblast, a russian UAV attacked a service vehicle carrying energy workers who were restoring electricity after the shelling. Three workers sustained injuries of varying severity and were hospitalised.
In Poltava oblast, debris from a russian UAV ignited forest ground cover in Velyka Bahachka forestry. Firefighters and forestry workers quickly extinguished the blaze. The forest stand is 59 years old.
Cherkasy oblast
The death of serviceman Oleksandr Poplavskyi from Zolotonosha region, who had previously been listed as missing, has been confirmed. He was 42 years old. He was killed on 25 October 2022 while carrying out a combat mission near the settlement of Nevelske in Pokrovsk region, Donetsk oblast.

Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration reported that yesterday, 7 July, russian forces launched 1,016 strikes on 62 settlements across Zaporizhzhia oblast. russian troops carried out 25 airstrikes on Zaporizhzhia, Komyshuvakha, Novomykolaivka, Yurkivka, Zorivka, Chervonyi Yar, Blahodatne, Zarichne, Lystivka, Orikhiv, Shyroke, Liubytske, Danylivka, Dolynka, Kopani, Zelenyi Hai, Vilnianka, and Svoboda. 716 UAVs of various types, mostly FPV drones, targeted Zaporizhzhia, Komyshuvakha, Kushuhum, Novomykolaivka, Balabyne, Dolynske, Mykhailo-Lukasheve, Bohdanivka, Dniprovski Khvyli, Novohupolivka, Kazakivske, Novooleksandrivka, Novosolone, Novoslobidka, Rozumivka, Nyzhnia Khortytsia, Nove Pole, Yasna Poliana, Stepnohirsk, Prymorske, Stepove, Pavlivka, Lukianivske, Mali Shcherbaky, Zaliznychne, Shcherbaky, Novodanylivka, Novoandriivka, Mala Tokmachka, Charivne, Bilohiria, Huliaipilske, Vozdvyzhivka, Rybne, Hirske, Varvarivka, Dobropillia, Pryluky, Staroukrainka, Sviatopetrivka, Tsvitkove, Preobrazhenka, Novoselivka, Kosivtseve, Nove Zaporizhzhia, Verkhnia Tersa, and Ternuvate. Three MLRS strikes hit Charivne and Huliaipilske. russian forces also carried out 272 artillery strikes on Stepnohirsk, Prymorske, Stepove, Pavlivka, Lukianivske, Mali Shcherbaky, Zaliznychne, Shcherbaky, Novodanylivka, Novoandriivka, Mala Tokmachka, Charivne, Bilohiria, Sviatopetrivka, Dobropillia, Pryluky, Rybne, Huliaipilske, and Staroukrainka. Authorities received 141 reports of damage to infrastructure, residential buildings, and vehicles. Ten people were injured in russian attacks on Zaporizhzhia and Zaporizhzhia region.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that as of 4:00 pm on 8 July, Ukrainian Defense Forces had successfully repelled 14 russian attacks towards Huliaipole r near Rybne, Vozdvyzhivka, Charivne, Novoselivka, Dobropillia, Verkhnia Tersa, Tsvitkove, and Kosivtseve. Ukrainian defenders stopped one russian attempt to advance near Shcherbaky towards Orikhiv. Over the previous day, 7 July, Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 24 russian attacks towards Huliaipole and Orikhiv.
Mykolaiv oblast
Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration reported that overnight russian forces attacked Bashtanka region, reportedly using guided aerial bombs. As a result of the strike on Horokhiv community, a family was affected: a 38-year-old woman and her 15-year-old daughter were killed, while a 13-year-old girl was injured. In another settlement of the community, a 39-year-old woman was also injured. As of the morning, both injured were in critical but stable condition. The attack damaged 20 private houses, an educational institution, and a power line, leaving some consumers without electricity.
Yesterday, 7 July, russian forces struck the city of Ochakiv with Shahed/Gerbera drones. The attack damaged the windows of an apartment building and a vehicle. russian forces also attacked Kutsurub community with a Molniya drone. No casualties were reported.
Odesa oblast
Odesa Regional Prosecutor’s Office reported that on the evening of 8 July, russian armed forces struck civilian infrastructure in Odesa with two ballistic missiles. The attack destroyed two trucks and damaged industrial facilities, a shuttle bus, and two passenger vehicles. According to preliminary information, four civilians were killed. Odesa Regional Military Administration reported that seven people were injured, six of whom were hospitalized. Two of the hospitalized victims are in critical condition.

Odesa Regional Military Administration reported that during the night of 8 July, russian forces carried out a massive drone attack targeting civilian infrastructure in Odesa oblast. The attack damaged three gas stations in the southern part of the region, causing fires. russian forces also struck an energy infrastructure facility.
Kherson oblast
Kherson Regional Military Administration reported that on the morning of 8 July, russian forces once again attacked a public minibus with a drone during peak passenger hours. A 72-year-old woman was killed at the scene, and eight other people were injured.
The head of Kherson Regional Military Administration reported two additional fatalities caused by russian attacks on 8 July. At around 9:10 am, russian forces struck a civilian vehicle in central Kherson with an FPV drone, killing a 53-year-old man. At around 8:00 pm, russian forces killed another man in the village of Krasnosilske, Borozenske community, in a drone strike.
Kherson Regional Prosecutor’s Office reported that at around 8:50 am, russian forces attacked a residential neighborhood in Kherson with a drone. A 71-year-old resident was killed after explosives were dropped from the drone while he was in his yard.
According to Kherson Regional Military Administration, at least six more people were injured in russian attacks on 8 July. Two people were wounded in attacks on Dniprovskyi district of Kherson, two more were injured in attacks on Korabelnyi district, and another two residents of Kherson oblast were injured in an overnight airstrike on Dariivka community.
Kherson Regional Military Administration also reported that five residents sought medical treatment on 8 July for injuries sustained in previous russian attacks on Kherson, Komyshany, and Borozenske.
According to the Police of Kherson oblast, on 7 July russian attacks targeted Kherson, Antonivka, Lymanets, Mykilske, Dniprovske, Sadove, Prydniprovske, Tomyna Balka, Zelenivka, Kizomys, Komyshany, Bilozerka, Romashkove, Veletynske, Rozlyv, Zorivka, Molodetske, Nadiivka, Novodmytrivka, Stanislav, Oleksandrivka, Shyroka Balka, Sofiivka, Beryslav, Novoraisk, Borozenske, Rakivka, Charivne, Urozhaine, Liubymivka, Novovoznesenske, Khreshchenivka, Vysoke, Novomykolaivka, Kozatske, and Vesele. The attacks damaged two apartment buildings, eight private homes, a critical infrastructure facility, an agricultural enterprise, two ambulances, a police vehicle, 12 civilian vehicles, a minibus, a farm storage building, and a store. Two people were killed, and 18 others were injured, including a police officer.

9 defenders from Ternopil community, who are undergoing rehabilitation and treatment after injuries, will receive a one-time cash assistance of UAH 15,000 from the city. Since the beginning of the year, 448 military communities have already received such assistance. And last year – 622 defenders.
