It has been the 1583 rd day of the Ukrainian resistance to the russian military aggression. 

 

What happened in Ukraine today:

Here is operational information of the General Staff as of 4 pm:   

On 25 June, the number of the aggressor’s attacks stood at 83.

Artillery shellings of border areas continue. Today, in Sumy oblast, the settlements of Sopych, Neskuchne, Korenok, Ulanove, Iskryskivshchyna, Bachivsk, Hirky, and Bunyakyne came under fire. The settlements of Sukhodil, Sumy, Stepanivka, and Hirky were hit by enemy airstrikes.

  • Towards Northern Sloboda and Kursk, three combat engagements took place. The enemy carried out 39 shellings of settlements and positions of Ukrainian troops, including four involving the use of MLRS.
  • Towards Southern Sloboda, the invaders made five attempts to break through the defense near the settlements of Starytsia and Vilcha, Kozacha Lopan, Izbytske, and Chaikivka. One combat engagement is ongoing.
  • Towards Kupiansk, the enemy attacked the positions of the Defense Forces five times near Pishchane, Kupiansk-Vuzlovyi, Kivsharivka, and Novoplatonivka.
  • Towards Lyman, Ukrainian warriors repelled 12 attempts by the invaders to advance near the settlements of Zarichne, Yampil, Shyikivka, Chervonyi Stav, Stavky, Drobysheve, Lyman, and Ozerne. Two combat engagements are ongoing.
  • Towards Slovyansk, the Defense Forces successfully halted seven attempts by the invaders to push forward near Zakitne and Riznykivka, Rai-Oleksandrivka and Kryva Luka. Another combat engagement is ongoing.
  • Towards Kramatorsk, the occupiers conducted one attack near Malynivka.
  • Towards Kostiantynivka, Ukrainian defenders repelled 11 attacks near the settlements of Pleshchiivka, Illinivka, Rusyn Yar, and Kostiantynivka. One combat engagement is ongoing.
  • Towards Pokrovsk, the occupiers attempted 20 times to dislodge Ukrainian warriors from their positions. Eighteen attacks were repelled near the settlements of Dorozhne, Novoselivka, Rodynske, Vasylivka, Hryshyne, Kotlyne, Udachne, Molodetske, Toretske, Kucheriv Yar, Ivanivka, Novyi Donbas, Bilytske, Vilne, Shevchenko, and Novopidhorodne.
  • Towards Oleksandrivka, there were no offensive operations by the enemy.
  • Towards Huliaipole, the Defense Forces repelled 15 enemy attacks near Dobropillia, Vozdvyzhivka, Hirke, Rizdvianka, Rivne, Staroukrainka, Huliaipilske, and Charivne. One combat engagement is still ongoing.
  • Towards Orikhiv, the enemy conducted two assaults on the positions of Ukrainian defenders near Stepove and Pavlivka.
  • Towards Kherson, no enemy attempts to advance have been recorded.

In other directions, there are currently no significant changes in the situation. Enemy attempts to advance are not being recorded.

Ukrainian troops are exhausting the enemy along the entire line of combat engagement and in the rear.

 

Recent war events in the east of Ukraine

Kharkiv oblast

Over the past day, 232 combat engagements were recorded along the front line. Towards Southern Sloboda, Russian troops attacked the positions of the Defense Forces 11 times near Veterinarym, Starytsia, and Synelnykove, and Lyman, Izbytske, Vilcha, and Kolodiazne. Towards Kupiansk, the occupiers launched two attacks—near Zapadne and Novoosynove.

Twenty settlements in Kharkiv region came under Russian strikes. As a result of the shellings, 11 people were injured:

  • Iskra (Izium community): Two men sustained injuries.
  • Hubarivka (Bohodukhiv community): Two residents were injured.
  • Between Sukhyny and Skosohorivka: A 61-year-old man was injured.
  • Nova Hnylytsia: A 40-year-old woman suffered an acute stress reaction.
  • Bohodukhiv: Five women sought medical assistance following the shelling.

To attack the region, the Russian army deployed two missiles, an MLRS, “Geran-2”, “Lancet”, and “Molniya” type UAVs, FPV drones, and another 28 drones of an unestablished type.

Residential buildings, power lines, railway infrastructure, a grain elevator, a boarding facility, buildings of municipal enterprises, farms, and cars were damaged across Bohodukhiv, Kupiansk, Izium, Kharkiv, and Chuhuiv regions.

Kharkiv Oblast Military Administration reports that the transit evacuation point in Lozova accommodated 181 people over the past day. In total, 42,113 evacuated people have passed through it since it began operating.

During the week, almost 84 hectares of land were demined in Kharkiv region. Specialists inspected agricultural lands, forests, roads, gas pipelines, and power lines, neutralizing 923 explosive objects. Additionally, more than 33,000 subscribers were reconnected to the power grid.

In Kharkiv, plans are underway to fully restore a residential building on Akhiezeriv Street by the end of 2026. The building sustained significant destruction following a Russian missile strike in 2022, which killed 22 people. Restoration work on the damaged entryways began in 2025.

 

Donetsk oblast

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reports that on the night of 25 June, the Defense Forces hit two railway bridges across the Aidar and Luhanchyk rivers, a logistics warehouse in Novohannivka, and an enemy command post near Tsukuryne.

Towards Pokrovsk, the Russian army carried out 32 attacks, which is fewer than the previous day (44 assaults). Another 19 battles each were recorded Towards Slovyansk and Kostiantynivka. Oleksandr Novikov, Commander of a battalion of the 66th Separate Mechanized Brigade, notes that in the Lyman sector, Russian troops have effectively abandoned the use of heavy armored vehicles, while the Ukrainian military is intensifying strikes against the occupiers’ logistics and rear.

The 7th Air Assault Corps reports that since the beginning of June, the Ukrainian military has destroyed around 450 antennas and over 120 Russian drone launch sites in the Pokrovsk area, complicating the Russian army’s communication, command, and logistics.

Following midnight on 25 June, Russian drones attacked Slovyansk and Oleksandrivka. In Slovyansk, an outpatient clinic and a car were damaged, while in Oleksandrivka, an apartment building sustained damage. Additionally, rescue workers extinguished fires at a gas station in Kramatorsk and a medical facility in Slovyansk that broke out as a result of the drone strikes.

According to Donetsk Regional Police, on 24 June, Russian troops carried out 1,252 shellings. Nine settlements in the region came under fire. In Druzhkivka, six people were injured as a result of strikes, including FAB-250 guided aerial bombs. In Samiilivka, one person was injured due to an attack by two “Molniya-2” UAVs. In Kramatorsk, an educational institution and a gas station were damaged.

Luhansk oblast

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reports that Towards Lyman, Russian troops launched 16 assaults on the positions of the Defense Forces near six settlements. Throughout the day, the occupiers deployed mortars, MLRS, and automatic grenade launchers against Ukrainian defenders, carried out 18 drone drops, and directed 13 FPV drones.

Luhansk Oblast Military Administration informs that in occupied Luhansk oblast, the invaders have intensified pressure on residents who refuse to accept Russian passports. Ahead of the September elections to the State Duma of the Russian Federation, the occupation authorities are fining people 40,000 rubles and threatening them with deportation for refusing forced passportization and for a potential boycott of the vote.

In Sievierodonetsk, the Russians have launched a training program for UAV operators based at a local Russian university operating on the premises of the relocated Volodymyr Dahl East Ukrainian National University. The courses enroll young people aged 18 and older, continuing the recruitment efforts into the Russian army.

What is happening now in the north of Ukraine

Kyiv oblast

In Kyiv, 30-year-old Daria Gonchar and her mother died in hospital after several weeks of fighting for their lives. The women were injured during the russian attack on the capital on the night of 2 June, whilst trying to reach shelter. The funeral service and burial took place on 24 June at the Baikove Cemetery.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, a Japanese delegation led by Japan’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ayano Kunimitsu, visited Kyiv to assess the damage caused by the russian attack on the Chornobyl Museum. During the visit, the delegation inspected the destroyed exhibits and the remains of the rocket’s tail section that struck the building. The guests also viewed the exhibits that survived the attack, including materials created with Japanese support.

The ‘Protasiv Yar’ festival will take place in Kyiv over three days. It is dedicated to the memory of Roman Ratushny, a civil society activist and scout with the 93rd ‘Kholodny Yar’ Brigade, known by his call sign Seneca. The event will run from 3 to 5 July, with all activities taking place on the lawn at Protasiv Yar. The opening night will take place the evening before at the Taras Shevchenko Literary and Memorial House-Museum.

Zhytomyr oblast

The Ukrainian delegation that visited Tallinn included representatives from 10 local authorities in Zhytomyr oblast. During the meeting in Estonia, the participants presented their strategic projects. Estonia is one of the key international partners actively supporting Zhytomyr oblast, assisting with the construction of housing for internally displaced persons, childcare facilities, shelters and other infrastructure projects.

Sumy oblast

The Regional Military Administration reported that on 24 June, Sumy oblast honoured the memory of medical workers whose lives were claimed by the war. Since the start of the full-scale invasion, russian aggression has killed 16 medical workers in the oblast, including doctors, nurses, paramedics and combat medics.

The Regional Military Administration informed that four civilians were injured in a russian UAV attack on a filling station in Sumy. Two filling station employees were hospitalised. A married couple who were near the site of the strike were also injured. According to the Administration, the enemy has carried out 13 attacks on filling stations across the oblast since the beginning of June.

The State Emergency Service of Sumy oblast reported that during the night of 25 June, a russian drone struck a warehouse in Hlukhiv community. While firefighters were working at the scene, the enemy launched a second strike near a fire engine. All personnel managed to move to a safe location in time, and no one was injured. All fires were extinguished.

Volodymyr Lukash, Head of Stepanivska community, said that at around midnight on 25 June, the russian army struck a private two-storey house in Stepanivka. No people were injured. In total, six private houses were damaged, with windows shattered and doors damaged. Volunteers from Proliska Humanitarian Mission and municipal workers are working at the scene.

On the evening of 24 June, russian forces attacked the oblast centre by drones. During the interception of one of the enemy UAVs, a 13-year-old boy was injured. He received the necessary medical assistance. Falling debris also caused damage in a residential area and on the premises of an industrial facility, shattering windows and damaging several vehicles.

The State Emergency Service of Sumy oblast informed that on 24 June, Krasnopillia came under russian artillery fire. The strike caused a fire on the grounds of a private household. Firefighters promptly extinguished the blaze and eliminated all consequences of the fire.

From the morning of 24 June to the morning of 25 June, russian forces carried out nearly 80 attacks on 32 settlements across 17 territorial communities of the oblast. The highest number of attacks was recorded in Sumy and Shostka regions. The enemy used mortars, artillery, FPV drones, UAVs and guided aerial bombs. Air raid alerts in the oblast lasted for 23 hours and 17 minutes during the reporting period.

According to the Regional Military Administration, on 24 June, 15 civilians sought medical assistance after being affected by enemy attacks across Sumy oblast. They sustained injuries or suffered acute stress reactions following a series of russian drone strikes on civilian infrastructure. The attacks targeted two filling stations in Sumy community, a cinema building in Konotop, and civilian infrastructure in Putyvl. Among those affected were three children: an 11-year-old boy in Konotop, a 6-year-old boy in Sumy, and a 15-year-old teenager in Putyvl. Four injured people remain in hospital, three of them in serious condition.

The Regional Military Administration reported that, as of the morning of 25 June, one civilian had been killed and 22 people, including four children, had been affected by enemy attacks across Sumy oblast over the previous 24 hours. Destruction and damage to private homes, vehicles and civilian infrastructure facilities were also recorded:

▪️ In Sumy community, men aged 23, 34, 42 and 64 were wounded in enemy UAV strikes, while men aged 39 and 43 were injured. A 6-year-old boy was also affected. A 57-year-old trolleybus driver, who had sustained critical injuries in a russian guided aerial bomb strike on Sumy community on 22 June, died in hospital. From the morning of 25 June, a further five people were affected in additional enemy UAV attacks. Apartment buildings, private residential houses, civilian infrastructure facilities, non-residential buildings and vehicles were damaged;

▪️ In Konotop community, a 50-year-old woman and men aged 64 and 73 were wounded when an enemy UAV struck. Women aged 31 and 39 were injured, while an 11-year-old boy and women aged 45 and 69 suffered acute stress reactions. Apartment buildings, a non-residential premises and vehicles were damaged;

▪️ In Putyvl community, a 15-year-old boy was wounded in a UAV strike. An administrative building was damaged;

▪️ In Kyrykivka community, a 70-year-old man was injured when an enemy drone struck a residential house. Private residential houses and a non-residential premises were damaged;

▪️ In Bilopollia community, private residential houses and vehicles were damaged;

▪️ In Velyka Pysarivka community, a private residential house and a passenger vehicle were damaged;

▪️ In Yampil community, a civilian infrastructure facility and a private household were damaged;

▪️ In Krasnopillia community, a private residential house was damaged;

▪️ In Hlukhiv community, private residential houses, vehicles, a civilian infrastructure facility, non-residential premises and a shop building were damaged;

▪️ In Esman community, private residential houses were destroyed;

▪️ In Berezivka community, a private residential house was damaged;

▪️ In Seredyna-Buda community, private residential houses were destroyed;

▪️ In Svesa community, a civilian infrastructure facility was damaged.

Chernihiv oblast

Oleksandr Seliverstov, Head of Novhorod-Siverskyi Regional Military Administration, said that on the evening of 24 June, russian forces attacked the border town of Novhorod-Siverskyi by two Heran-type strike UAVs. The drones hit warehouse facilities belonging to a private enterprise near Shevchenko Street, causing a fire. It was later reported that another strike had occurred at a separate location in the town.

Chernihiv Border Guard Detachment reported that on 24 June, russian forces attacked four border communities in Chernihiv oblast: Novhorod-Siverskyi, Semenivka, Horodnia and Snovsk. A total of 84 strikes were recorded. The enemy used mortars, multiple launch rocket systems, artillery, FPV drones, and dropped an explosive device from a UAV. Nine settlements came under enemy fire.

The Regional Military Administration announced that Chernihiv Oblast Defence Council had decided, at the request of the military, to introduce mandatory evacuation from 12 settlements starting on 1 July. It also approved the continuation of mandatory evacuation measures from seven border villages where evacuation had been announced during the winter. The settlements are located in Koriukivka, Horodnia, Novhorod-Siverskyi and Semenivka communities. According to community authorities and the RMA, around 1,000 residents remain in these settlements, including 120 children. The evacuation is expected to be completed within two months.

The State Environmental Inspectorate in Chernihiv oblast informed that land contamination caused by a russian UAV attack resulted in environmental damage exceeding UAH 139,000. In May 2026, the inspectorate received a report through EcoZahroza electronic service regarding land contamination in Koriukivka region following a drone attack. The site was littered with demolition debris, including fragments of structures, construction waste and metal debris.

Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

Mykola Lukashuk, Head of Dnipropetrovsk RMA, reported that russian forces attacked Nikopol, Marhanets and Pokrovske rural communities by FPV drones, UAVs, and MLRS. Fires broke out. A gas station and a private house were damaged.

A UAV attack in Slobozhanske community caused a fire. 8 vehicles were destroyed and 3 trucks damaged. The russian forces struck Pavlohrad by UAVs. Fires broke out. A college, a dormitory and vehicles were damaged.

Vasylkivka community was hit by a KAB. 12 houses and an outbuilding were damaged.

Dubovykivka community was attacked by FPV drones. A house of culture caught fire. The enemy attacked Zelenodolsk community by FPV drones, damaging infrastructure.

2 men were injured in Nikopol and Myrove community. The russian forces attacked the regional centre, Chervonohryhorivka, Pokrovske rural, Marhanets and Myrove communities by drones and artillery. Fires broke out. An apartment building, a lyceum, an enterprise, garages, 4 vehicles and infrastructure were damaged. The russian forces struck Dubovykivka community by an FPV drone. An unused building caught fire.

Vasylkivka community came under a UAV attack, causing a fire. Zelenodolsk community was also attacked by FPV drones.

Vinnytsia oblast

Residents of Vinnytsia paid tribute to fallen defender Oleksandr Tsymbaliuk. He served as a senior soldier, mortar operator and machine gunner. He initially served with the 4th Separate Tank Brigade and later with the 14th Operational Brigade Chervona Kalyna.  He was killed on 18 May 2025, in Donetsk oblast at the age of 39.

Kirovohrad oblast

Zavallia community in Kirovohrad oblast welcomed home 58-year-old serviceman Oleksandr Yablochnyi, who was released from russian captivity. He had spent more than 2 years in captivity.

Poltava oblast

According to Poltava Regional Military Administration, during the night, russian forces attacked one of the industrial enterprises in Poltava oblast by UAVs.

Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine

Zaporizhzhia oblast

According to Ukrainian Railways (Ukrzaliznytsia), an assistant locomotive driver was killed in a drone attack on Zaporizhzhia today. The russian forces deliberately struck locomotives twice. The locomotive driver managed to reach safety, but the assistant driver, who was in the rear cab, could not be saved.

Ivan Fedorov, Head of Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, reported that russian forces struck a parking area in Zaporizhzhia. Trucks caught fire. Preliminary, there are no casualties reported.

As a result of the morning russian attack, one man was killed, while a woman was injured in Zaporizhzhia. The attack also caused a fire at a gas station.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that on 24 June, the Ukrainian Defence Forces repelled 14 russian attacks in Huliaipole and Orikhiv regions. Ukrainian defenders stopped russian assaults near Shcherbaky and toward Hirke, Dobropillia, Vozdvyzhivka, Staroukrainka, Huliaipilske and Charivne.

Referring to the State Emergency Service of the oblast, 18 fires affecting residential buildings, outbuildings and nearly 13 hectares of ecosystems broke out as a result of russian shelling over the past day. While firefighters were extinguishing the blazes, explosive ordnance disposal teams worked at the strike sites, discovering, removing and destroying 6 modern explosive devices.

Ivan Fedorov, Head of the RMA, stated that as a result of the shelling, 2 people were killed and 22 injured in the regional centre, Zaporizhzhia oblast and Polohy region. Over the past day, russian forces launched more than 900 strikes on 49 settlements across Zaporizhzhia oblast. The russian military used aircraft, nearly 700 UAVs (mostly FPV drones), MLRS and artillery.

Mykolaiv oblast

According to Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration, yesterday, russian forces attacked Mykolaiv oblast by FPV drones. Snihurivka community came under attack: in Tamaryne village, the windows of a private house and an outbuilding were damaged. As a result of the attack on Ochakiv, a decommissioned gas station was damaged.

Odesa oblast

Based on the information provided by the Ukrainian Air Force, this evening, 25 June, UAVs were detected flying from the Black Sea toward Chornomorsk and Odesa.

The Air Command South informed that on the evening of 24 June, russian forces attacked Odesa oblast by a ballistic missile, likely an Iskander-M.

Kherson oblast

According to Kherson Regional Military Administration, at approximately 5pm, russian forces attacked a shop in Dniprovskyi region of Kherson by a drone. A 53-year-old saleswoman sustained shrapnel wounds to her legs, a concussion, blast injuries and a closed traumatic brain injury.

At around 3pm, russian forces launched a drone attack on the central part of Kherson. A 53-year-old employee of Kherson CMA was injured. He sustained a concussion, blast injuries and shrapnel wounds to the chest.

At approximately 10:55am, russian forces attacked Korabelnyi district of Kherson by a drone. A 61-year-old man sustained blast injuries, a closed traumatic brain injury, a concussion and shrapnel wounds to the head, chest and arm.

At around 9:10am, russian forces struck Korabelnyi district of Kherson by a UAV. A 63-year-old employee of a municipal utility company was injured. He was diagnosed with blast injuries, a closed traumatic brain injury and a concussion.

At approximately 8am, russian forces attacked a hospital in Kherson by a drone. 5 hospital employees were injured. Preliminary reports indicate they sustained blast injuries.

Yesterday, a 16-year-old boy was injured after a russian strike UAV hit Tsentralnyi district of Kherson. He sustained blast injuries.

Yesterday afternoon, a 62-year-old woman was injured in a russian drone attack in Tsentralnyi district of Kherson. She sustained a concussion, blast injuries and a closed traumatic brain injury. Her condition is assessed as moderate.

2 people sought medical assistance after coming under a russian UAV attack yesterday morning on the road between Bilozirka and Pryozerne. A 60-year-old woman and a 60-year-old man sustained blast injuries and concussions after a drone struck their vehicle.

Latest news for today in the western regions of Ukraine

Volyn oblast

Residents of Kivertsi and the village of Ozero met the funeral procession with the body of Mykola Voytyuk, fallen soldier in a lively corridor, kneeling and with national flags. Since 19 August 2024, the serviceman was considered missing while performing a combat mission near the settlement of New York, Donetsk oblast. Only after the official identification did it become known that the defender was killed in battle for Ukraine.

Zakarpattia oblast

Uzhhorod City Council reported that an additional UAH 1m will be allocated to support veteran organizations in the city.

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast

Tlumach community hosted a delegation from Mensk community, Chernihiv oblast. They discussed further areas of cooperation, exchanged experiences, and participated in events marking the 813th anniversary of the first chronicle mention of Tlumach.

Lviv oblast

Camouflage nets are being woven in Yavoriv region. They have already been handed over to the military by the 57th.

Rivne oblast

Children from 9 communities of Rivne oblast will study in more modern lyceums. For this, the Government has allocated UAH 40.6m in subsidies to the oblast. The funds will be used to update science classrooms, create STEM spaces, purchase equipment, multimedia equipment and furniture.

Ternopil oblast

On 14 July, an offline intensive Export Connect: A Support System For Exporters In Oblasts will be held for entrepreneurs in Ternopil oblast. The event is organized by the Swiss-Ukrainian project UCORD together with partners, including Ternopil RMA, the Office for Entrepreneurship and Export Development, the Regional Development Agency in Ternopil oblast and others.

Khmelnytskyi oblast

The RMA held a working meeting on the development of the agro-industrial complex. They discussed the current state of the industry, prospects for its development and the challenges facing agricultural producers today.

Chernivtsi oblast

Chernivtsi City Council reported that the city has allocated almost UAH 29m for another reinforcement of the Defense Forces of Ukraine.

International support of Ukraine in the russian-Ukrainian war (russia’s invasion of Ukraine)

The Ukraine Recovery Conference 2026 in Gdansk is scheduled to: sign about 160 deals and announce over 30 partnerships worth over EUR 10bn; participate in the largest URC business fair in history with over 2,000 business representatives from around the world; launch of a new format of the Energy Platform, which will become a permanent tool for mobilizing international support for the Ukrainian energy sector.
