On 30 May, the aggressor attacked the positions of the Defense Forces 58 times.
Artillery shelling of border areas continues. In Sumy oblast, the following settlements were affected: Ryzhivka, Korenok, Bachivsk, Sopych, Rohizne, Buniachyne, Yastrubshchyna, Bezsalivka, Atynske, and Vilna Sloboda; in Chernihiv oblast—Hremyach.
Towards Northern Sloboda and Kursk, there were five combat engagements, and the enemy conducted 30 shellings of settlements and positions of Ukrainian troops.
Towards Southern Sloboda, the enemy stormed the positions of Ukrainian units five times in the vicinity of Veterinaryne and Lyman, and towards Izbytske and Ternova.
Towards Kupiansk, the enemy attacked the positions of the Defense Forces twice near the settlement of Novoosynove and in the vicinity of Petropavlivka. One combat engagement is still ongoing.
Towards Lyman, Ukrainian warriors repelled four attempts by the invaders to advance towards the settlements of Drobysheve, Stavky, Lyman, and Ozerne. Two combat engagements are ongoing.
Towards Sloviansk, the Defense Forces successfully stopped one attempt by the invaders to move forward near the settlement of Kryva Luka.
Towards Kramatorsk, the enemy conducted no offensive operations.
Towards Kostiantynivka, Ukrainian defenders stopped four attacks near the settlement of Pleshchiivka.
Towards Pokrovsk, since the beginning of the day, the occupiers have tried 19 times to push Ukrainian warriors from their positions in the vicinity of Rodynske, Novooleksandrivka, Hryshyne, and Udachne, and towards the settlements of Bilytske and Dorozhnie. Two combat engagements are ongoing.
Towards Oleksandrivka, the enemy tried to advance twice towards Kalynivske. One combat engagement is currently ongoing.
Towards Huilaipole, the Defense Forces successfully repelled 18 enemy attacks in the vicinity of Zlahoda and Olenokostiantynivka, Vozdvyzhivka, Verkhnia Tersa, and Huilaipilske. Five combat engagements are ongoing.
Towards Orikhiv, the enemy conducted no active offensive operations.
In other directions, there are currently no significant changes in the situation. No enemy attempts to advance were recorded.
Recent war events in the east of Ukraine
Kharkiv oblast
According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, there were 291 combat engagements in the oblast. Towards Southern Sloboda, russian troops attacked the positions of the Defense Forces eight times in the vicinity of Starytsia, Lyman, and Vovchansk, and towards Ternova and Izbytske. Towards Kupiansk, Ukrainian defenders stopped eight attempts by the russian army to advance towards Kivsharivka, Novoplatonivka, and Novoosynove, and in the vicinity of Borivska Andriivka and Petropavlivka.
Kharkiv Regional Military Administration reported that over the past day, Kharkiv and 18 settlements in the oblast came under enemy fire. Two people were killed, and four others were affected. In Bilyi Kolodiaz, Vovchansk community, a 65-year-old woman and a 46-year-old man were killed, and a 60-year-old man was injured; in Shestakove, Staryi Saltiv community, a 46-year-old man was injured; in Zolochiv, a 67-year-old woman suffered an acute stress reaction; in Husynka, Kindrashivka community, a 34-year-old man was affected. Additionally, a 34-year-old man was injured during humanitarian demining in Vinopillia, Oskil community.
russian troops attacked Kyivskyi district of Kharkiv with a UAV. Over the course of the day, the russian army deployed seven Geran-2 UAVs, six Molniya UAVs, eight FPV drones, and 41 unidentified drones across Kharkiv oblast.
In Bohodukhiv, Kupiansk, Kharkiv, Chuhuiv, and Berestyn regions, private houses, a cultural center, a production building, power grids, cars, a threshing floor, a farm hangar, and a warehouse facility were damaged.
The transit evacuation point in Lozova received 207 people over the past day. Since the point began operating, 36,923 people have been registered there.
Donetsk oblast
On May 29, police recorded 945 strikes along the frontline and residential sector of Donetsk oblast. Eight settlements were under fire: Druzhkivka, Kramatorsk, Lyman, Mykolaivka, Krasnotorka, Oleksandrivka, Novooleksandrivka, and Sydorove. Sixty-six civilian objects sustained damage, including 55 residential buildings.

russian troops attacked Druzhkivka 11 times, including dropping 10 guided aerial bombs on the city. A civilian was killed, and another was injured. Five apartment buildings, 15 private houses, and two administrative buildings were damaged.
Four people were injured in Mykolaivka, and three apartment buildings were damaged.
The russian army struck Krasnotorka with two KAB-250 guided bombs. A civilian was injured, and 16 private houses were damaged.
Kramatorsk sustained 10 shellings by four aerial bombs, drones, and artillery. A private house, infrastructure objects, and three civilian cars were damaged.
In Lyman and Sydorove, one private house was damaged in each settlement. As a result of drone attacks, nine private houses and a civilian car were damaged in Oleksandrivka, and four homes and a car were damaged in Novooleksandrivka.

Luhansk oblast
The 3rd Border Guard Detachment reported that towards Lyman, Luhansk border guards destroyed a Chinese multiple launch rocket system manufactured since the 1960s and also hit about ten russian guns.
Oleksii Kharchenko, Head of the Luhansk Regional Military Administration, reported that over the past day, russian troops attacked 12 times on the Lyman section of the front, attempting to advance in the vicinity of five settlements. On the territory of Luhansk oblast, the occupiers deployed 19 UAVs, struck five times with automatic grenade launchers, four times with mortars, and three times with tube artillery.
In occupied Luhansk oblast, the russians are using school and extracurricular militarization clubs to recruit children and teenagers. The personal data of schoolchildren who undergo training in drone piloting or firearms handling is passed on to the russian intelligence services. The occupiers approach these children with offers even before they reach adulthood, particularly during end-of-year school ceremonies, and subsequently offer them a direct path to the war or admission to military educational institutions.
In Sievierodonetsk, the occupiers plan to “nationalize” apartments in yet another high-rise building in the old districts of the city. Such cases mostly involve undamaged buildings that do not require expensive restoration. Owners have been given 30 days to obtain a russian passport and appear in person with their property documents.
What is happening now in the north of Ukraine
Kyiv oblast
The Kyiv City State Administration reported on the morning of 30 May that 17 air raid sirens had sounded in Kyiv this week. In total, they lasted for over 15 hours.
During a meeting with an American delegation in Kyiv, Andriy Danik, head of Ukraine’s State Emergency Service, reported that during the attack on Kyiv, russia had attempted to destroy the servers for the ‘101’ and ‘112’ emergency hotlines. The russian forces struck the SES headquarters. At the time of the strike, the building was attended by specialists on duty, mostly women. The SES reported that, despite the damage, dispatchers and communications officers went to a shelter and continued their work.
On the night of 24 May, the National Museum ‘Chornobyl’—which had recently reopened following restoration work—sustained significant damage as a result of russian shelling of the capital. The museum preserves evidence of the 1986 Chornobyl disaster. The Ministry of Internal Affairs reported that around 40% of the museum’s exhibits were destroyed by the enemy attack. However, items from the storage facilities, a painting by Maria Pryimachenko and the Ukrainian flag, which was raised at the Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant immediately after de-occupation in 2022, were successfully saved.
According to the Regional Military Administration, a five-storey building at 4 Dzherelna Street in Irpin, damaged as a result of russia’s armed aggression, is being restored. The major renovation is being carried out as part of the Programme for the Reconstruction of Multi-Family Residential Buildings in Kyiv obleast for 2023–2026. The work is being funded from the regional budget.
The Borodianka territorial community has signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with the ‘Right to Protection’ Charitable Foundation to support internally displaced persons and citizens affected by military aggression.
The Slavutych territorial community has received four solar power stations with energy storage systems from international partners in Germany.
A new honour has been introduced in the capital – the title of ‘Honorary Defender of the City of Kyiv’. It will be awarded to Kyiv residents serving in the military who took part in defending the state’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, and in strengthening Ukraine’s defence capabilities and security during the russian Federation’s full-scale aggression.
The fourth “Protasiv Yar” festival will take place in Kyiv on 3–5 July, dedicated to the memory of Roman Ratushny, a civil society activist and scout with the 93rd Brigade “Kholodny Yar”, whose call sign was Seneca. The organisers have announced that all festival events will traditionally take place on the Protasiv Yar glade. The festival will last three days.
Zhytomyr oblast

Відзнаки, відповідно до указів Президента України та наказів Міністерства оборони і Головнокомандувача Збройних сил України, родинам передавав міський голова Сергій Орлюк.
повідомили в ОВА, Вперше у Житомирі підготовку до національного спротиву пройшли внутрішньо переміщені особи та жителі області, які подали заявки. Загальна тривалість курсу склала три тижні. Для забезпечення максимально комфортних умов слухачам було організовано гнучкий графік занять: аудиторна підготовка проводилася двічі на тиждень у післяобідній час, а щосуботи відбувалися польові практичні заняття.

Sumy oblast
Sumy Oblast Prosecutor’s Office reported that on 30 May, at about 7:30am, russian forces attacked a civilian car in Krasnopillia community by a drone. The 58-year-old driver was injured in the strike. The man received medical assistance.
The City Military Administration informed that on the morning of 30 May, a UAV hit the territory of a petrol station in Kovpakivskyi district, as well as near another petrol station in Zarichnyi district of the city. No people were injured.
According to the Regional Military Administration, overnight, the enemy launched a massive UAV attack on Shostka community. Defence forces managed to destroy some of the enemy drones. According to preliminary information, there were no deaths or injuries. The Regional Military Administration and Mayor Mykola Noha reported that civilian infrastructure facilities, residential and non-residential buildings, administrative premises, a school, a college, a kindergarten and transport were damaged. Efforts to deal with the aftermath of the attack are ongoing.

Overnight on 30 May, russian troops destroyed Shostka railway station building with direct hits by several dozen kamikaze drones and damaged railway station infrastructure. There were no injuries among staff or passengers, as people were in shelters during the attack. Railway workers are working to deal with the aftermath of the shelling.

The Regional Military Administration reported that, as of the morning of 30 May, one civilian was killed and two more people were injured in enemy strikes in Sumy oblast over the past day.
In Krasnopillia community, a 59-year-old man was killed and a 48-year-old woman was injured as a result of an enemy UAV explosion.
In Khotyn community, a 65-year-old man was injured in enemy shelling.
Over the day, from the morning of 29 May to the morning of 30 May, russian troops carried out more than 50 attacks on 19 settlements in 11 territorial communities of Sumy oblast. The highest number of attacks was recorded in Sumy and Shostka regions. The enemy used artillery, MLRS, FPV drones, UAVs and guided aerial bombs. Air-raid alerts in the oblast lasted 23 hours and 31 minutes over the day.
Civilian infrastructure facilities were damaged and destroyed:
▪️in Popivka community, a civilian lorry was damaged;
▪️in Velyka Pysarivka community, a private residential house was damaged;
▪️in Vorozhba community, a private residential house and a civilian infrastructure facility were damaged;
▪️in Shostka community, civilian infrastructure facilities, shop premises, apartment buildings and private residential houses, administrative and non-residential premises, and transport were damaged;
▪️in Sumy community, road surface and a civilian infrastructure facility were damaged;
▪️in Bilopollia community, a private residential house, a civilian infrastructure facility and vehicles were damaged;
▪️in Esman community, a private residential house was destroyed;
▪️in Svesa community, a private residential house, outbuildings and a civilian infrastructure facility were damaged;
▪️in Berezivka community, private residential houses, outbuildings and civilian infrastructure facilities were damaged, and private residential houses were destroyed;
▪️in Khutir-Mykhailivskyi community, a private residential house was damaged;
▪️in Hlukhiv community, civilian infrastructure facilities were damaged.
Over the day, local authorities, together with units of State Emergency Service, National Police and civil society organisations, evacuated six people from border communities.
Chernihiv oblast
Oleksandr Seliverstov, Head of Novhorod-Siverskyi Regional Military Administration, reported that overnight from 29 to 30 May, russian forces attacked Semenivka by two attack drones. Two residential houses and a civilian car were damaged in the enemy strikes.
Viacheslav Chaus, Head of Chernihiv Regional Military Administration, said that as a result of russian strikes over the past day, agricultural machinery was damaged by a Herbera UAV strike in a village of Novhorod-Siverska community. In two communities of Koriukivka and Chernihiv regions, enemy Heran UAVs hit critical infrastructure facilities, including energy and transport facilities.
Chernihiv Border Detachment informed that during the day on 29 May, russian troops attacked three border communities of Chernihiv oblast: Novhorod-Siverskyi, Semenivka and Snovsk. The enemy carried out mortar attacks with 11 explosions, tube artillery attacks by three explosions, and FPV drone strikes with five explosions. Semenivka town and three villages came under enemy fire.
Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine
Dnipropetrovsk oblast
Mykola Lukashuk, Head of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast Council, said that a fire broke out in Zelenodolsk community as a result of a UAV attack. Occupying forces struck Nikopol, Marhanet and Chervonohryhorivka communities by drones. Solar panels were damaged. A UAV was also directed at Troitske community. An administrative building of a company was damaged in Petropavlivka community as a result of a UAV strike.
Nine people were injured in Marhanets as a result of FPV drone and artillery attacks. The enemy also struck the regional centre, Chervonohryhorivka and Pokrovske rural communities. A fire broke out. An apartment building, two private houses, a gymnasium, a shop and a car were damaged. One person was injured in Hrushivka community as a result of artillery shelling.
Zelenodolsk community was struck by a drone. Infrastructure was damaged.
Vinnytsia oblast
The second Strength in Memory boxing tournament was held in Haisyn. The competition was dedicated to three Haisyn residents who were killed in the russian-Ukrainian war: Stanislav Meniuk, Vladyslav Diedov and Volodymyr Dudnikov.
Poltava oblast
Poltava Regional Military Administration informed that defenders shot down a russian UAV in Poltava oblast. In Bilsk village, UAV debris damaged residential houses, an outpatient clinic and a car.
Cherkasy oblast
Ihor Taburets, Head of Cherkasy Regional Military Administration, reported that defenders shot down five russian UAVs in Cherkasy oblast.
Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine
Zaporizhzhia oblast
Ivan Fedorov, Head of Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, reported that the russian military attacked Zaporizhzhia again. As a result of the shelling, houses in the private sector caught fire. Preliminary, there were no casualties reported.

The russian forces are attacking Zaporizhzhia’s industrial infrastructure. A 40-year-old man was killed. 2 people were injured: a 24-year-old man and a 14-year-old girl. Buildings of enterprises and nearby residential houses were damaged.
According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces, on 29 May, the Defence Forces repelled 49 russian attacks on Huliaipole and Orikhiv regions. Ukrainian defenders stopped russian forces near the settlements of Shcherbaky, Plavni, Stepnohirsk, Dobropillia, Zaliznychne, Olenokostiantynivka and in the direction of Novozaporizhzhia, Huliaipilske, Verkhnia Tersa, Vozdvyzhivka, Staroukrainka, Tsvitkove and Charivne.
Ivan Fedorov, Head of the RMA, reported that on 29 May, russian forces carried out more than 900 strikes on 40 settlements of Zaporizhzhia oblast. In particular, russians used UAVs of various modifications (mostly FPV drones), artillery and aviation.
Mykolaiv oblast
Based on the information provided by Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration, on 29 May, combat operations were conducted in Mykolaiv oblast. As of the morning, there were no injuries or damage reported. The russian forces attacked Ochakiv community twice by FPV drones. There were no casualties reported.
Kherson oblast
Kherson RMA reported that yesterday at around 11pm in Korabelnyi district of Kherson, 3 people were injured as a result of a russian drone attack. A 55-year-old woman and men aged 76 and 64 sustained mine-blast injuries and acute stress reactions.
2 people whose apartment was struck by a russian drone yesterday evening in Dniprovskyi district of Kherson were taken to hospital. A 71-year-old man and a 70-year-old woman were diagnosed with blast injuries, concussions and limb injuries.

Volyn oblast
The funeral of defender Andrii Polishchuk, who was killed 20 February 2025 in the war, in the vicinity of the settlement of pohrebki, kursk oblast, russia, was held in Lutsk.
Zakarpattia oblast
The international roundtable Problematic Issues Of Cross-Border Cooperation And Ways To Solve Them, which brought together diplomats, officials and scientists from seven countries – Ukraine, Hungary, Slovakia, Romania, Poland, the Czech Republic and Moldova, was held in Uzhhorod. Participants analyzed in detail the current state of interaction between neighboring states, outlined key challenges and developed joint mechanisms for activating European integration processes at the local and regional levels.
Ivano-Frankivsk oblast
A working meeting was held in Rohatyn community with representatives of Shabivska rural territorial community (Odesa oblast). Cooperation between the communities continues within the framework of the signed Memorandum and provides for mutual support and exchange of experience. Within the framework of the partnership, the communities already carry out mutual visits and share management practices. During the meeting, further interaction and the needs of the partner community were discussed.
Lviv oblast
In Strii region, over UAH 80,000 were raised for car repairs for the military. In addition, another car, 47 turnstiles, a medic’s backpack and assistance in 9 directions were donated. Separately, UAH 31,900 for turnstiles, $ 1,000 donated from the US, as well as equipment, first aid kits and goodies.
Rivne oblast
Rivne oblast suffered another enemy attack this morning. The target was one of the private enterprises. As a result, smoke was generated. All relevant services are working on the scene. Including representatives of the regional center for disease control and prevention.
Ternopil oblast
The RMA reported that air targets heading towards the western oblasts of Ukraine were destroyed by the Air Defense Forces.
Khmelnytskyi oblast
2 SUVs were donated to the Defense Forces from Khmelnytskyi community.
Chernivtsi oblast
Bukovina once again became the venue for an important international meeting with the participation of Andrii Danyk, Head of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, and representatives of the Romanian Department of Emergency Situations, Headed by Raed Arafat, State Secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Romania. The meeting focused on cooperation in the field of civil protection, coordination of actions during emergency response in border regions and development of logistical capabilities for providing humanitarian aid.
International support of Ukraine in the russian-Ukrainian war (russia’s invasion of Ukraine)
Finland will provide Ukraine with the 33rd package of military assistance worth a total of about €128m. In total, Finland has already sent Ukraine €3.4bn in defense equipment.
Japan has allocated funds for the PURL program for Ukraine for the first time. Tokyo has allocated almost $14.7m for the purchase of non-lethal equipment.
