Communities of border settlements were affected by enemy artillery fire, namely Hirky, Novovasylivka, Maryine, Slavhorod, Seredyna-Buda, Sosnivka, Yastrubyne, Kucherivka, Boiaro-Lezhachi, Khodyne, Kozyne, Prokhody, Sumy oblast; Prohres, Chernihiv oblast. Air strikes hit the settlements of Zhykhove, Boyaro-Lezhachi, Sumy oblast; Krasnyi Khutir, Chernihiv oblast.
Towards Northern Sloboda and Kursk, there were four combat clashes. In addition, the enemy carried out 13 airstrikes, dropped 32 guided bombs, and carried out 131 attacks on the positions of our troops and settlements, including four from multiple launch rocket systems.
Towards Southern Sloboda, the Defense Forces repelled three enemy attacks near the settlements of Vovchansk and Kamianka. Two more combat clashes are ongoing.
Towards Kupiansk, russian occupiers tried to break through Ukrainian defenses in the vicinity of the settlements of Petropavlivka and Zahryzove. In total, there were two combat clashes.

Towards Pokrovsk, russian invaders made 29 attempts to push our defenders from the occupied positions in the areas of the settlements of Poltavka, Volodymyrivka, Fedorivka, Novoekonomichne, Rodynske, Sukhetske, Promyn, Pokrovsk, Zvirove, Udachne, Dachne, and Novoukrainka. The Defense Forces are holding back the onslaught and repelled 24 enemy attacks, five clashes are still ongoing.
Towards Novopavlivka, the enemy tried to break through the defense of Ukrainian defenders in the vicinity of the settlements of Komyshuvakha, Zelene Pole, Maliivka, Zaporizhske, and Olhivka. The defense forces successfully repelled two enemy assault actions, three more attacks are still ongoing.
Towards Huliaipole, the occupiers launched an airstrike on the settlement of Bilohiria.
Towards Orikhiv, the enemy did not conduct offensive actions.
Towards Kherson, Ukrainian soldiers repelled three attacks by the occupiers in the vicinity of the Primorske, Antonivskyi bridge and Bilohrudyi Island.

Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov informs that a new air defense complex is being created to protect the Ukrainian sky. This is an air-to-air air defense complex capable of protecting large territories.
Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko says that the Cabinet of Ministers approved the payment of UAH 15 million to the families of defenders who died in captivity. Shelling
5 settlements of Kharkiv oblast were subjected to enemy attacks. As a result of shelling, 4 people were killed and 2 injured.
In the village of Kozacha Lopan, Derhachi community, a 64-year-old man was killed; in the village of Nechvolodyvka, Kindrashivka community, a 69-year-old man and woman was killed, a 76-year-old woman injured; in the village of Nova Kozacha Derhachi community, a 38-year-old man was killed, a 38-year-old man injured.

Zelenskyy reported that Ukrainian troops are making progress towards Pokrovsk near Dobropillia.
Shelling
After midnight, the occupiers shelled Belozerske with drones, where 2 apartment buildings were damaged, and Svyatogorivka – a non-residential building and cars were damaged. According to police, russia sent 13 Geran-2 UAVs to Samarsk in Kramatorsk region – a store was damaged.

The enemy dropped two GAB-250 bombs on Vyrivka, Belozirka community – one person died, two were injured, among them a girl born in 2014. 4 private houses, an educational institution, and a car were damaged.
In the city of Dobropillia, one person was injured as a result of a bomb strike, and a private house was damaged. In Zolotyi Kolodiaz, a russian FPV drone injured a civilian.
One person was injured in Sloviansk, 30 private houses were destroyed. In Zarechne, two civilians were injured.
Andriivka was attacked by 9 Geran-2 UAVs, which damaged a utility company, non-residential premises and an infrastructure facility. In Bilokuzminivka, a private house was damaged by an FPV drone.
russian troops covered Lyman with Smerch MLRS, damaging a private house. In Novoselivka, Lyman community, 5 private houses and 8 outbuildings were damaged. Oleksandrivka, Lyman community, was hit by artillery fire – 15 private houses and 7 outbuildings were damaged.
In the village of Dobropillia, 2 apartment buildings were damaged as a result of three Geran-2 UAVs hitting it. In Svyatohirevka, an enemy bomb damaged a car.
Other
According to Suspilnoye Donbas by Patrick, a representative of the “BASE UA” organization, every day, about 300 people are evacuated from Dobropillia. According to Vitalii Holovatenko, Deputy Head of the city military administration, about 9,100 people remain in the city, and 9,900 in the community.
Donetsk police reported that the White Angel evacuation unit of the National Police evacuated 17 people during the day from Bilytske and Andriivka. Police officers also helped a man take the body of his wife, who died from wounds from russian shelling, to the morgue.

Oleksandr Honcharenko, Head of the RMA, says that fragments of bodies found under the rubble of a five-story building destroyed in the center of Kramatorsk on July 31 continue to be identified. As of August 15, seven dead and 11 injured residents are known. Luhansk oblast

In the Kyiv region, demining operations are ongoing. In Bila Tserkva, large-scale exercises were held involving units of radiation, chemical, and biological protection, together with specialists in unmanned systems and robotics. According to the regional SES, such drills help rescuers act quickly and in coordination during radiation, chemical, and biological threats. Drones and ground-based robotic systems were employed, increasing the efficiency and safety of task execution.
In the capital, people gathered for a peaceful protest in front of the U.S. Embassy. They came to support civilian hostages, military prisoners of war, and those missing in action. About a hundred people attended. The main demands were to release all prisoners and hostages, and to ensure that there are no discussions about Ukraine without Ukraine at the negotiations between U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Zhytomyr oblast
In Zhytomyr, in the premises of the city council, the families of six fallen servicemen of the Ukrainian Ground Forces were presented with state awards posthumously conferred on the defenders. The city council reported this on August 14.
The President of Ukraine awarded Vadym Sopronov, a serviceman of the 70th Separate Support Brigade from the Zhytomyr region, the Order “For Courage,” 3rd Class. The award ceremony took place on August 12 during the Ukrainian Youth Forum in Kyiv. According to the 70th Separate Support Brigade, Vadym Sopronov was honored for his personal bravery and valor demonstrated in the line of duty.
On August 15, at a session of the Novohuivynske settlement council, a one-time monetary aid payment was approved for people affected by Russian aggression, the council reported. On August 22, 2025, the State Scientific Research Institute “NDIproektrekonstruktsiya” is to complete and hand over to the settlement council the project and cost documentation, which will serve as the basis for repairing the roof of a damaged building.
Sumy oblast
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported in its morning update that in North Slobozhanske and Kursk front, five engagements took place over the past day. Enemy forces carried out 12 air strikes, dropped 28 guided bombs, and conducted 288 attacks, including seven by multiple launch rocket systems.
Sumy Regional Military Administration informed that in the afternoon of 15 August, the russian army struck the central part of Sumy community, targeting civilian infrastructure. A fire broke out at the site of the strike. Information on casualties is being clarified.

At around 7:00 on 15 August, russian drones attacked two vehicles in a village of Velyka Pysarivka community. According to the Regional Military Administration, a 73-year-old driver of a civilian car was killed. A medical vehicle was also damaged. The Regional Prosecutor’s Office reported that russian forces targeted a civilian car and an ambulance with drones.
The National Police informed that in Seredyna-Buda community, a 59-year-old local woman was injured as a result of strikes. A residential house, a grain storage facility, and agricultural machinery were also damaged.
The Regional Branch of Gazmerezhi stated that enemy drones carrying incendiary mixtures attacked a gas network facility in Sumy oblast. The enemy deliberately directed strike drones at one of the sites, causing a fire. Access to the impact area is currently restricted by the military for security reasons.

The regional military administration informed that at around 5:40, russian forces struck a car at a petrol station by a drone, causing a fire. The driver sustained burns, while petrol station staff were unharmed. The petrol station building and the vehicle were damaged.

On August 14, the Russian army struck the Vorozhbyanska community six times using drones. A house, outbuildings, and one industrial enterprise were damaged. According to the city council, drone and strike UAV attacks have increased across the community.
Late on the evening of August 14, Russians attacked a village in the Koriukivska community with a ballistic missile. A farm enterprise was damaged, as well as the roofs and windows of residential houses.
Over the 24-hour period from the morning of August 14 to the morning of August 15, Russian forces carried out 100 shelling attacks on 46 settlements in 16 territorial communities of the region. The most attacks were recorded in the Sumy, Shostka, and Okhtyrka districts. The enemy actively used guided aerial bombs (nearly 50 strikes), multiple launch rocket systems (up to 10 strikes), and also carried out strikes with FPV drones and UAVs, the Regional Military Administration reported. Two people were injured as a result of the attacks.

Russian forces launched a missile strike on a village in the Koriukivka community, damaging a local agricultural enterprise and residential houses, the Operational Command “North” reported. According to the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Russians attacked the Chernihiv region with an Iskander-M ballistic missile.

On August 14, Russian forces attacked three border communities of the Chernihiv region: Novhorod-Siverskyi, Semenivka, and Snovsk. The enemy carried out mortar shelling (3 explosions), artillery shelling (8 explosions), and strikes with Shahed-type UAVs (3 explosions), Molniya-type UAVs (2 explosions), Lancet UAV (1 explosion), FPV drones (11 explosions), and dropped explosive devices from UAVs (8 explosions). Eleven settlements came under enemy fire, the Chernihiv Border Guard Detachment reported.
As a result of Russian shelling, a mobile communication tower was destroyed in the village of Mamekyne, Novhorod-Siverskyi community. In the town of Semenivka, a non-residential building was damaged.
Over the past three years, the Chernihiv region has restored 95% of its pre-war gross agricultural output, the Regional Military Administration reported.
Since Russia’s invasion, about 60,000 hectares of agricultural land in the Chernihiv region have been potentially contaminated with mines and shells, said Regional Military Administration head Viacheslav Chaus. More than 17,000 hectares cannot yet be demined due to their proximity to the enemy border. Humanitarian demining efforts began in 2023: over the past two years, more than 1,700 hectares have been cleared. This year, 415 hectares were surveyed, and over 150 hectares were demined.
Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine
Dnipropetrovsk oblast
Mykola Lukashuk, Head of the oblast council, says that yesterday evening and in the morning, the enemy continued to strike Nikopol region with drones and artillery. They targeted the region center, Marhanets and Pokrovske communities. In Nikopol, 6 private houses, an outbuilding and a power line were damaged due to shelling. According to updated data, a 55-year-old man was injured in yesterday’s attack on Mezhova community of Synelnykove. 5 apartment buildings and the same number of private houses were damaged, 16 garages, infrastructure and a power line were hit.
In the evening, the enemy carried out a rocket attack on the region. A man was killed in Dnipro region. Another 62-year-old man was wounded. He was hospitalized in serious condition. Three cars were damaged. During the day, the occupiers did not stop their attacks on Nikopol region. About three dozen drone strikes and artillery strikes were carried out. They targeted the region center, Myrove, Marhanets and Pokrovske communities.
Two men, aged 23 and 41, were injured.

Zaporizhzhia oblast

Mykolaiv oblast
On 14 August, and today, 15 August, the enemy launched 11 FPV drone attacks on the city of Ochakiv and the waters of Ochakiv community. Also yesterday, at 19:02, the enemy struck Kutsurub community with a strike drone, the type of which is being determined. There were no casualties.
Kherson oblast
On 15 August, at around 08:00, russian occupiers attacked Kherson’s downtown with artillery. Two people were injured. At about the same time in Kherson, a 45-year-old woman was wounded in an attack by an enemy drone. She sustained a concussion, blast injuries, and a closed head injury.
At around 10:30, russian forces shelled Mykilske. A 54-year-old man who was at home suffered blast injuries and shrapnel wounds to his legs.
Kherson Regional Military Administration reported on two residents of the village of Shliakhove in Beryslav community who were killed in a russian strike. The victims were two men, aged 86 and 56.
Three medical facility employees sought hospital care after being injured in a russian shelling of Kherson the previous day. They were diagnosed with blast injuries and concussions.

On 14 August, the enemy attacked Antonivka, Zelenivka, Molodizhne, Zymivnyk, Tekstylne, Sadove, Prydniprovske, Komyshany, Chornobaivka, Bilozerka, Dniprovke, Kizomys, Novodmytrivka, Zorivka, Berehove, Tomyna Balka, Stanislav, Oleksandrivka, Sofiivka, Mykilske, Tokarivka, Novotiahynka, Beryslav, Tomaryne, Urozhaine, Novoberyslav, Rakivka, Shliakhove, Shylova Balka, Monastyrske, Novokairy, Kachkarivka, Dudchany, Mylove, Mykhailivka, Biliaivka, Burhunka, Lvove, Olhivka, Tiahynka, Vesele, Kozatske, and the city of Kherson. The attacks damaged an apartment building, 22 private houses, gas pipelines, farm buildings, and a private car. 1 person was killed and 5 others were injured, including 1 child, as a result of russian aggression.

According to the General Staff, as of 16:00 on 15 August, Ukrainian forces repelled three enemy attacks towards Kherson — towards Prymorske, the Antonivskyi Bridge, and Bilohrudyi Island.
The NGO CASERS mobile medical team continues its work in Kherson oblast communities. Over the past two days, an ophthalmologist and an ultrasound specialist provided qualified consultations to 95 Velyka Oleksandrivka residents. Most of those seeking assistance were elderly people and patients with chronic diseases.
Tiahynka community received new equipment and protective gear from international partners — the consulting company “Chemonics Development Works Here”. The community was given 84 units of tools, 20 tactical first-aid kits, 20 OBERIG bulletproof vests, 20 helmets, and an 8.8 kW generator. Fire departments and utility services will use the new equipment, it will also be used during evacuations in the frontline zone.

Rivne oblast
The RMA reported that Horodotsk community has allocated UAH 1m for the restoration of damaged infrastructure facilities of Yunakivsk community, Sumy oblast.
Ternopil oblast
Defenders from Ternopil receive UAH 15,000 each for treatment and rehabilitation. Last year, 295 servicemen received such assistance.
Children of defenders went on vacation to Poland. 6 children from the families of defenders, as well as children of fallen Heroes, will stay in the Polish city of Chorzów until August 21. The trip was organized at the invitation of the FORTECIA Society.
Khmelnytskyi oblast
Khmelnytskyi community has allocated financial assistance for 175 servicemen for treatment and rehabilitation. The total amount of assistance is UAH 2.6m.
Chernivtsi oblast
The RMA reported that at the request of the Chernivtsi Regional Center for Emergency Medical Care and Disaster Medicine, together with benefactors, 20 helmets and 20 bulletproof vests were donated to ensure the protection of emergency medical team workers in case of danger.

The UN Human Rights Monitoring Mission in Ukraine was able to confirm the deaths of 286 civilians and the injuries of 1,388 in July, the highest number since May 2022 and exceeding the statistics of June 2025. The mission confirmed civilian casualties in 18 of Ukraine’s 24 oblasts.
