The aggressor continues to pursue its plans to occupy the territory of Ukraine, putting pressure on the positions of our units. The Ukrainian Defence Forces are taking measures to disrupt the enemy’s actions, inflicting losses in manpower and equipment.
In total, 57 combat engagements have taken place since the beginning of the day.
Cynical shelling from the territory of the russian Federation affected border settlements, in particular Zarichne, Porozok, Seredyna-Buda and Kucherivka in Sumy oblast; Mkhy in Chernihiv oblast.
Towards Kharkiv, the enemy tried to advance towards Bochkove and was repelled.
Towards Lyman, the invading army attacked nine times near Novoliubivka and Yampolivka. Two firefights are still ongoing. Enemy aircraft attacked Stavky and Novoiehorivka with bombs.

The enemy launched air strikes in the areas of Pokrovsk, Mirolyubivka and Udachne, dropping three bombs.
Towards Novopavlivka, enemy units attacked Ukrainian troops’ positions near Kostiantynopil and Skudne six times, three attacks are still ongoing. Burlatske and Voskresenka came under attack with guided aerial bombs.

Two firefights are ongoing towards Orikhiv, the enemy is trying to advance in the direction of Stepove and near Nesterianka.
In Kursk oblast, Ukrainian defenders repelled 13 attacks by the invaders. The enemy also carried out six air strikes, dropping seven unmanned aerial vehicles, and fired 190 artillery rounds. The fighting is currently ongoing in three locations.
Towards Kupiansk, Huliaipole and Kherson, the enemy did not conduct active offensive actions, constantly shelling the positions of the Defence Forces and settlements, using attack UAVs and conducting reconnaissance.
The Ministry of Defence reported that the Ukrainian Armed Forces have approved the Gimli ground robotic system for use. The Gimli is designed to perform many tasks in high-intensity combat operations as it is a versatile unmanned platform. The robotic system can perform various tasks depending on its configuration and attachments. In particular, it can evacuate the wounded, assist with the movement of personnel, and transport ammunition, weapons and property.
Mykhailo Fedorov, Vice Prime Minister for Innovation, Education, Science and Technology Development and Minister of Digital Transformation, stated that from now on, internally displaced persons can receive certificates for the purchase of a new home faster, as the government has allocated an additional UAH 15bn for the eRestoration programme. This programme is available to Ukrainians with IDP status who have lost their only property due to the hostilities. The service is available for destroyed housing in the government-controlled territory or in the area of active hostilities.

Kharkiv oblast
Frontline
On the Kharkiv axis, Russia attempted to advance toward Bochkovoe but was repelled, according to the General Staff. Novoegorivka in the Kupiansk region was hit by airstrikes. On the Kupiansk axis, Russian forces are not conducting active offensive operations but are continuously shelling Defense Forces’ positions and settlements, using attack UAVs and conducting reconnaissance.
Over the past day, there was one engagement on the Kharkiv axis near the settlement of Vovchansk, according to the Regional Military Administration (OVA). On the Kupiansk axis, Russian forces launched three attacks in a day. The Defense Forces repelled assaults near the settlements of Zahryzove, Petropavlivka, and Lozova.
Shelling
Over the past day, the enemy used four guided aerial bombs and 17 UAVs of various types against unarmed residents of the Kharkiv region, the Regional Military Administration reported.
Drone crashes were recorded overnight near Izium and Pyatygorske, and a drone strike hit a boiler house in Borova, according to Syniehubov. Two people were injured in airstrikes on Dovzhyk, and guided aerial bombs struck Ridne and Klynova-Novoselivka.
As a result of a nighttime drone strike on an eco-park, two animals—a young goat and a pregnant goat—were killed, while five more animals in the petting zoo suffered concussions, said Ivan Dostov, director of Feldman Ecopark.

At 22:01, in the Kyivskyi district of Kharkiv, a UAV struck the roof and facade of a five-story residential building on the fifth floor. Nearby buildings and vehicles were damaged, and eight people were injured, including a six-year-old child. All victims received medical assistance on-site.
At 22:00, Russian forces attacked the Izium district, Izium territorial community, near the city of Izium. A UAV of an unidentified type crashed in an open area.

At 17:35, Russian forces attacked the Bohodukhiv district, Zolochiv territorial community, in the village of Dovzhyk. The impact of four guided aerial bombs (GAB) on an open area damaged two warehouse buildings, four private houses, and power lines. A woman and a man were injured.
At 14:30, Russian forces attacked the Bohodukhiv district, Zolochiv territorial community, in the village of Klynova Novoselivka. The strike damaged four private houses and outbuildings.

In Tsupivka, part of the Derhachi community, search efforts continue for the body of a local resident trapped under rubble after an airstrike on February 24. As of March 3, the man has not yet been found, according to the head of the Derhachi Military Administration, Viacheslav Zadorenko. Rescuers and local residents are involved in the search.

Evacuation efforts continue for 352 settlements located in dangerous proximity to combat zones—approximately 30,000 people have already been evacuated.
For temporary resettlement, 8,000 places have been allocated, with the capacity to expand by another 2,000.
In the border community of Derhachi in Kharkiv region, the initiative “Food Truck – Food Without Borders” is preparing and distributing 2,000 hot meals per day. This truck, converted into a mobile kitchen, provides hot food to residents in frontline communities and disaster-affected areas.
Donetsk oblast

The number of attacks in the Pokrovsk sector has decreased to 18 in the past 24 hours. On March 1, Ukrainian forces repelled 27 assaults.
Over the past day, the Defense Forces repelled Russian attacks near Tarasivka, Promin, Pokrovsk, Kotlyne, Udachne, Kotlyarivka, Andriivka, Vodyane Druhe, and Ulakliv.
In the Lyman sector, the Russian army launched 15 attacks, attempting to breach Ukrainian defenses near Novoe, Yampilivka, and Novomykhailivka.
In Mariupol, near the Starokrymske reservoir, air defense systems were active on March 2, according to the city council. Preliminary reports indicate that debris from intercepted targets struck a Russian military base in the eastern part of the Central District, near the exit to Mykilske.
Shelling
Russian forces carried out 3,268 attacks along the frontline and in residential areas. Strikes were recorded in nine settlements, including the cities of Kostiantynivka, Lyman, Pokrovsk, Rodynske, and the villages of Andriivka-Klevtsove, Ivanopillia, Komar, Nova Poltavka, and Pleshchiivka. A total of 45 civilian structures were damaged, including 29 residential buildings.
- Pokrovsk: Russian artillery strikes killed two civilians and injured another. Three private houses were damaged.
- Kostiantynivka: The enemy dropped two FAB-250 aerial bombs, injuring a woman and damaging 10 private houses, a gas pipeline, and a power line.
- Andriivka-Klevtsove: Three UPMB D-30 SN bombs hit the center of the village, wounding one person and damaging a private house, two stores, an educational institution, a post office, and a vehicle. Another bomb exploded in Komar, damaging two stores, an educational facility, and a commercial building.
- Rodynske: A Russian drone damaged two apartment buildings and a store.
- Nova Poltavka: Three FAB-250 bombs damaged four private houses, power lines, and a gas pipeline.
- Lyman: A private house, an outbuilding, and power lines were damaged.

- Search and Recovery: The “Platsdarm” search unit recovered the bodies of seven Russian soldiers from three different areas in Donetsk region. Since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion, search teams have found over 800 bodies of Russian servicemen in Donetsk region.
- Dublin Honors Mariupol: In Dublin, Ireland, a new signpost has been installed, indicating the distance to Mariupol. The sign was placed thanks to the efforts of a team of Ukrainian rowers, according to the city council.
Luhansk oblast
Yesterday, the enemy fired 22 times from artillery in this area of the frontline. They tried to hit our fortifications and surrounding villages. The invaders also sent 227 drones there. The infrastructure of almost all of these settlements in Luhansk oblast, located along the contact line, has been destroyed.
The occupation administration has announced the postponement of the construction of a landfill in Sievierodonetsk, citing two main reasons. Firstly, the lack of necessary funding – to date, they have only had enough money to develop the project. As in the case of a similar facility in Antratsyt, it is recommended to look for investors, as no funding is provided by Russia. Second, the project allegedly cannot be implemented due to the security situation in the region. The so-called “Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology of the People’s Republic of LPR” noted that construction is possible only after the situation is stable. According to the original plans, the landfill was supposed to accept up to 175,000 cubic metres of waste annually. However, its implementation has been postponed for three years in a row.
Since 1 March, land plot owners in the “lpr” have been forced to enter information on the coordinates of their property boundaries into the russian real estate register. For this purpose, it is necessary to have a package of documents in the form of the Russian Federation, or people will be denied registration of transactions with such land plots and even cadastral registration or registration of rights to real estate located on the respective plot.
The National Resistance Centre reported that in the occupied part of Luhansk oblast, the “80 Glorious Deeds” campaign is being held to mark Victory Day, which russia celebrates on 9 May. Kindergarteners and school students are to collect medicines for the russian military, write letters, make trench candles, and organise concerts for “heroes of the land”.
What is happening now in the north of Ukraine
Kyiv oblast
On 3 March, Ukrinform journalist and former Suspilne employee Tetyana Kulyk and her husband, oncological surgeon Pavlo Ivanchov, were commemorated in Kyiv. The couple were killed by a russian drone strike on their home in Kyiv oblast on the night of 26 February. The funeral ceremony took place at the physics and chemistry building of the Bohomolets National Medical University.
Following a meeting with Lithuanian Ambassador Inga Stanitė-Tolocienė, the head of Kyiv Regional Military Administration informed that Lithuania plans to help Kyiv oblast restore the infrastructure damaged by russian military aggression and promote the oblast’s energy independence. They discussed plans to restore damaged social facilities, install alternative energy sources to increase the energy independence, and build multifunctional shelters in educational and medical institutions.
Bucha was visited by the first gentleman of Denmark, film director Bo Tengberg. In particular, he got acquainted with the work of the Bucha Witches mobile fire group, which consists almost entirely of women and defends the Ukrainian sky as part of the Bucha Fighter Group. All the women are civilians. They are teachers, doctors, manicurists, and tourism managers. During the day, they lead their normal lives, and at night they join the defence of the sky from russian attacks.
The RMA informed that there are 6 ‘Active Parks – Unstoppable’ clubs in Kyiv oblast that provide rehabilitation services to veterans, military personnel, and people with disabilities caused by the war. In total, oblast has 71 locations of ‘Active Parks – Locations of Healthy Ukraine’. 148 coordinators organise activities for residents. More than 100,000 people have already joined the training.
A documentary about combat stress, ‘Vidnokrai’, was presented in Kyiv. The film is dedicated to Boris ‘Ukrop’ Aseyev, a sniper who died on 25 December 2022. The film’s director, Serhiy ‘Hora’ Nagorny, noted that the film shows the experience of veterans, each of whom has their own path and story.
Zhytomyr oblast
Zhytomyr Regional Military Administration reported that work continues in the Brusylivska community to eliminate the consequences of the russian attack early last week. The injured woman and children have been discharged from hospital and provided with housing. Residents of the damaged houses have applied for assistance through the ‘eRestoration’ programme.
Another religious community left the Moscow Patriarchate in Zhytomyr oblast. On 28 February, representatives of the religious community of the village of Velyki Nyzhirtsi, Berdychiv district, received documents on the parish’s accession to the Orthodox Church of Ukraine (OCU) without a head priest.
Sumy oblast
Border guards of the “Steel Border” unit destroyed several Russian shelters with Russian army personnel in the Sumy direction, according to the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine (DPSU).
On March 3, Ukrainian air defense forces shot down four enemy Shahed drones over the Sumy region, as reported by the regional military administration (OVA).
As a result of a Russian strike, a house was damaged in the Stepanivka community. The OVA also reported that during the night and morning, Russian forces shelled the Myropillia, Yunakivka, Bilopillia, and Esman communities. A total of 10 explosions were recorded, including mortar and artillery shelling, AGS fire, drone attacks, and guided aerial bomb strikes (KABs).
On March 2, Russian forces carried out 105 attacks on the Sumy region, resulting in 178 recorded explosions. The enemy used mortars (57 explosions), artillery (26 explosions), UAV strikes (4 explosions), FPV drones (51 explosions), and dropped VOG grenades from drones (38 explosions). Ten communities came under fire: Khotin, Yunakivka, Myropillia, Bilopillia, Krasnopillia, Novoslobidske, Esman, Svesa, Seredyna-Buda, and Znob-Novhorodske. In Myropillia, a private house was damaged due to shelling.
In the Sumy region, Russian forces are attempting to advance toward the Ukrainian border in the direction where the Defense Forces are conducting an operation in the Kursk region, aiming to disrupt logistical routes, according to DPSU spokesperson Andrii Demchenko. The enemy is trying to breach Ukrainian territory with assault groups or expand the active combat zone toward the village of Novenke. However, Ukrainian units are inflicting maximum damage to prevent the enemy from gaining a foothold or amassing forces on Ukrainian soil.
Recently, the “White Angel” police crew evacuated a married couple from the Krasnopillia area. On the day of the evacuation, the village came under heavy shelling again. During the operation, an enemy drone pursued the police vehicle, but the special unit successfully evacuated the civilians unharmed, according to the National Police.
Chernihiv oblast
Due to shelling on March 2, a residential house burned down in the village of Tymonovychi, Semenivka community, according to the Department of Civil Protection and Defense of the Chernihiv Regional Military Administration (OVA). A total of 17 explosions from a multiple launch rocket system (MLRS) were recorded in the settlement.
On March 2, houses were damaged in the Nizhyn district as a result of an explosion caused by falling debris from a Russian Shahed drone. The damage included a destroyed roof of a residential house and an outbuilding, as well as shattered windows in two houses.
Throughout the day on March 2, Russian forces attacked three border communities in the Chernihiv region: Novhorod-Siversk, Semenivka, and Snovsk. The enemy used mortars (10 explosions), MLRS (37 explosions), FPV drones (4 explosions), and dropped explosives from UAVs (2 explosions). Five villages came under enemy fire, according to the Chernihiv Border Guard Detachment.
Russian forces have increased missile and air strikes on the Chernihiv region. Over the past week, the Russians launched 40 unguided aerial rockets and six guided bombs and carried out attacks with 90 strike drones. This was reported by the head of the Chernihiv Regional Military Administration, Vyacheslav Chaus.
From February 24 to March 2, a total of 129 attacks were recorded in the region, resulting in 363 explosions. A total of 23 settlements across five districts were affected by the strikes. As a result of Russian attacks, one person was injured, and residential houses, outbuildings, a vehicle, and hangars were either destroyed or damaged.
Over the past week, Ukrainian defenders shot down around 25 enemy drones over the Chernihiv region.
Didier Van Hoorde, a 64-year-old volunteer from Belgium, traveled over 2,500 kilometers to deliver an ambulance and medical supplies to the military in Chernihiv. According to him, he and his like-minded supporters raised funds to purchase the vehicle for evacuating the wounded from the battlefield and carrying out combat missions. The ambulance will serve the Chernihiv military, who are currently defending Ukrainian land in the East.

Dnipropetrovsk oblast
During the night, Ukrainian air defence forces shot down 7 enemy UAVs over the oblast.
In Kryvyi Rih, as a result of a russian attack, a 52-year-old woman was injured but will recover at home. A fire broke out and an industrial enterprise, a medical facility, 6 high-rise buildings and a vehicle were damaged. In the evening, the enemy launched another drone strike on Myrove community in Nikopol region. In the morning, the occupiers attacked Marhanets community by a kamikaze drone. There were no casualties reported.
In the morning, the enemy targeted Mezhova community in Synelnykove region by a drone, damaging 2 private houses. During the day, the occupiers launched 16 attacks on Nikopol region, by kamikaze drones, artillery and dropping munitions from UAVs. The strikes targeted the regional centre, Marhanets and Myrove communities. There were no injuries reported.
Vinnytsia oblast
A defender from Vinnytsia oblast, Taras Kondrashkin, was awarded the Golden Cross badge. He received a personalised watch. Currently, the soldier continues to resist the enemy on the front lines alongside his fellow fighters.
Kirovohrad oblast
Andrii Raikovych, Head of the RMA, reported that ensuring the safety of children in schools and kindergartens remains a top priority. In 2025, Kirovohrad oblast continues to construct, renovate and restore shelters. The capital renovation of a shelter for students and teachers at the Taras Shevchenko Lyceum in the regional centre is in its final stages. It is fully equipped according to modern safety standards and serves as a mini-school, allowing lessons to continue during air raid alerts.
Poltava oblast
A memorial service for fallen soldiers was held at the Holy Assumption Cathedral of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine in Poltava. The ceremony honoured Oleh Kravchenko, who died at 1st City Clinical Hospital in Poltava on 26 February 2025, and Yurii Kryvenko, who was killed in action on 25 February 2025 in Sumy oblast.
Cherkasy oblast
Ihor Taburets, Head of the RMA, informed that the night in the oblast was marked by enemy attacks. Ukrainian air defence forces destroyed 5 russian UAVs in the sky. There were no injuries and in most cases, no damage to infrastructure reported. In the regional center, the debris from a downed enemy target caused a fire at a furniture factory, which was extinguished. Windows and roofs of 2 buildings and a truck were damaged. Several nearby businesses suffered damage, with windows shattered and vehicles affected by the blast wave.

Zaporizhzhia oblast
Yesterday, the occupiers executed 552 attacks on 13 settlements in Zaporizhzhia oblast. russian forces launched six airstrikes on Huliaipole, Zaliznychne, and Varvarivka. 366 UAVs of various modifications attacked Piatykhatky, Kamianske, Prymorske, Huliaipole, Shcherbaky, Novodanylivka, Mala Tokmachka, Charivne, and Novodarivka. 7 MLRS attacks targeted Huliaipole, Shcherbaky, and Mala Tokmachka. There were 173 artillery strikes on Piatykhatky, Kamianske, Orikhiv, Huliaipole, Shcherbaky, Novodanylivka, Novopavlivka, Mala Tokmachka, Charivne, and Novodarivka. Five reports were received about damage to apartments and private houses.

Mykolaiv oblast
Yesterday, on 2 March, at 10:47 a.m., the russians shelled Kutsurub community with MLRS. There were no casualties.
Odesa oblast
As of 6 a.m. on 3 March, there were four enemy ships in the Mediterranean Sea, including three carriers of Kalibr cruise missiles, with a total salvo of up to 26 missiles.
Over the past day, four vessels passed through the Kerch Strait into the Black Sea in russia’s interest, while another five ships entered the Sea of Azov.
Kherson oblast
A man who was injured yesterday by a russian drone strike on a shuttle bus in Kherson sought medical attention. The 56-year-old Kherson resident was diagnosed with blast trauma and hearing impairment. A woman who was caught in a russian shelling attack in Kherson on 24 February also sought medical help. The 53-year-old Kherson resident was diagnosed with blast trauma.
Yesterday, russian forces once again shelled the right-bank part of Kherson oblast using MLRS, artillery, mortars, and drones. Kherson, Prydniprovske, Antonivka, Sadove, Bilozerka, Inzhenerne, Beryslav, Zmiivka, Novoberyslav, Mykhailivka, Havrylivka, Novoraisk, and Kozatske in Kakhovka region were affected by the attacks. An apartment building, three private houses, a shuttle bus, a police service vehicle, and a civilian car were damaged in these settlements. As a result of the russian attacks, five people were killed, and 13 were wounded, including three police officers.
Police evacuated a wounded man from the frontline city of Beryslav. The 55-year-old resident was injured in a russian drone attack on 28 February, suffering shrapnel wounds to the chest and both legs. Residents carried him to a house, bandaged his wounds, and called the police for assistance. Law enforcement officers arrived in an armored vehicle to transport him safely and quickly. Upon arrival at the destination, the wounded man was handed over to an emergency medical team.
It is reported that the enemy attempted to storm Ukrainian positions three times on the Prydniprovskyi front, but was unsuccessful. Over the past day, russian losses amounted to 107 personnel, one twin anti-aircraft gun “ZU-23-2,” 10 artillery systems and mortars, 18 vehicles and armored units, two motorcycles, two ATVs, two buggies, two boats, one surveillance camera, five electronic warfare stations, one “Statlink” station, one communication antenna, and four UAV control antennas. Additionally, 43 enemy shelters/bunkers, one firing position, three fuel storage sites, and seven field ammunition depots were destroyed.
Nearly 300 residents of Beryslav region received free medical assistance from specialists of the “Fortitude” mobile clinics. Over the past week, a medical team consisting of a family doctor, a neurologist, an endocrinologist, and a cardiologist provided care in the villages of Mala Shestirnia, Nezlamne, Novohryhorivka, Mykhailiv, and Novopavlivka.

Stepan Kaminechny was a senior soldier of the 68th separate chasseurs brigade. He died in April 2024 while performing a combat mission near the settlement of Semenivka, Donetsk region. For a long time he was considered missing. Only on 20 November, after the identification procedure, was his death officially confirmed.
Rivne oblast
The RMA reported that the III degree Order of Courage, was awarded to soldier Andrii Zhhuta.
Ternopil oblast
Ternopil Medical University has received modern equipment for training prosthetists and orthotists. Charitable support from Austria complements the set of prosthetic and orthopedic models that the university has already received from the social enterprise Penta.
Khmelnytskyi oblast
The Dental Prosthetics For Certain Categories Of Persons Who Defended The Independence, Sovereignty And Territorial Integrity Of Ukraine pilot project initiated by the Ministry of Health of Ukraine together with the National Health Service of Ukraine is underway in Khmelnytskyi oblast. Today, 14 medical institutions in the oblast provide free dental services for military personnel and veterans.
Chernivtsi oblast
In Viknyanska community, work is underway to arrange housing for internally displaced persons. In the village of Vikno, a non-residential building is being reconstructed for the needs of temporary residence of IDPs. The project solutions provide for the implementation of a full range of construction and installation works for the reconstruction of a non-residential building with a total area of 691.8 sqm. The living area of the premises is 1297.5 sqm.

Habeck, German Economy Minister, called for a €3bn military aid package for Ukraine. German Economy Minister Robert Habeck called on Germany and Europe to take swift action to provide aid to Ukraine.
The implementation of the project for the Defense Forces of Ukraine is ongoing with the support of the NATO Human-Centric Approach Program. In February 2025, 12 training sessions were conducted for 360 servicemen of the Territorial Defense Forces and the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The program covers: psychological assistance, emotional stabilization and recovery in combat conditions. This project is part of the Comprehensive NATO Assistance Package to Ukraine.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy, President of Ukraine, met with Giorgia Meloni, Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Italy. They discussed a joint action plan to end the war with a just and sustainable peace.
Keir Starmer, Prime Minister of Great Britain, stated that the country is ready to deploy troops in Ukraine to implement any peace agreement.
