War in Ukraine today: latest news, 05 July, 2024 (photo)

It has been the 863 th day of the Ukrainian resistance to the russian military aggression. 

What happened in Ukraine today:

Here is operational information of the General Staff as of 4 pm:   

On 5 June, the enemy increased the pace of offensive actions towards Lyman and Pokrovsk.  The number of combat clashes along the entire front line rose to 84. Ukrainian defenders confidently contain the onslaught of russian occupation troops and inflict significant losses on the enemy. 

At the same time, under constant bombardment of enemy aircraft is Kharkiv oblast. From the russian cities of Belgorod and Shebekino terrorists made a total of five airstrikes,  dropping nine KABs and targeted Vovchansk, Hlyboke and Russka Lozova. 

At the same time, two enemy assaults were repelled near Hlybske towards Kharkiv. No loss of position. Two more battles are ongoing there.  

Towards Kupiansk, the enemy twice without success stormed Ukrainian positions in the vicinity of Sinkivka. The enemy aircraft twice hit with unguided air missiles near Stepova Novoselivka – in total two dozen NARs were fired. In addition, two guided bombs exploded near Kurylivka.

Towards Lyman, the invading army carried out 17 attacks on the positions of Ukrainians near Nevske, Makiivka, Hrekivka, Ternove and in Serebrianka forest. 11 battles ended without success for the enemy, six more – continue. The occupiers are most active in the vicinity of Ternove, where more than a third of all combat clashes occurred.

The enemy continues to try to find weaknesses in Ukrainian defense towards Siversk. In the vicinity of Sporadne, Belohorivka and Vyimka six  enemy attacks were repelled. There is a fight going on near Spirne. The situation is under control.

Towards Kramatorsk, the occupiers carried out three unsuccessful assaults on the positions of Ukrainian troops near Kalynivka, Klishchevka and Ivanovske. There were two airstrikes in the vicinity of Chasiv Yar.

Towards Toretsk, the number of enemy attacks increased to nine. The enemy, supported by the air, twice tried to advance towards Niu-York and Toretsk. Four more attacks were carried out by the aggressor near Pivnichne. Fighting in three areas continues. In total, the invaders carried out five airstrikes.

Towards Pokrovsk, there was the largest number of clashes. The occupiers made 29 attempts to displace Ukrainian defenders from their positions in the vicinity of Kalinove, Novolexandrivka, Yevhenivka, Novoselivka Persha, Yasnobrodivka and Netailove. Almost half of the attacks of the enemy carried out near Novooleksandrivka and Novoselivka Persha. The occupiers supported their actions with three air strikes.

The defense forces restrained the onslaught and repelled 17 enemy assaults, 12 battles are still ongoing.

Towards Kurakhove, fighting continues. Ukrainian defenders repelled six attacks of the occupying army. The enemy efforts are focused on Krasnohorivka. The occupiers bombarded Maksymilianivka and Kostiantynivka.

Towards Vremivka, three enemy assaults were repelled near Kostiantynivka, and two – near Vodiane. The enemy dropped a bomb near Yelyzavetivka. 

Towards Orikhiv, the occupiers received a hard push back near the Mala Tokmachka. In addition, 32 unguided missiles were fired in the vicinity of Luhove.

Ukrainian troops defined and proven tasks for strengthening the resilience of defense. They continue to contain the enemy and inflict maximum losses.

More than 110 Ukrainian prisoners of war were executed by the Russians. The International Criminal Court, together with Ukrainian investigators, is investigating these cases. 

Oleh Siniehubov, Head of Kharkiv RMA, reports that in Kharkiv, russia began to hit FAB-500 aerial bombs, increasing the range of use. Previously, they were used only against Kupiansk, the northern territories, and now the FAB-500 already flies at a distance of up to 80 kilometers.

Recent war events in the east of Ukraine

The General Staff reported that the Armed Forces of Ukraine repelled more than 130 russian assaults on the eastern front on 4 July. The russian army attacked most heavily towards Pokrovsk and Toretsk.

Kharkiv oblast 

Yuri Povkh, Spokesman of OTU Kharkiv, informs that in the village of Sotnitskyi Kozachok in Kharkiv oblast, Ukrainian units continue to detect and destroy the remains of russian saboteurs.

On July 4, there were 19 fighting clashes towards Kharkiv near Liptsi, Vovchansk and Sotnitskyi Kozachok.

Oleh Syniehubov, Head of Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, reported that at 4:05am, russians attacked Kurylivka village, Kupiansk region. The shelling of the KAB damaged a private house.

Yesterday at 5:25pm, russians attacked Kupiansk. A residential building burned down as a result of an MRLs attack.

At 4:44pm, russians attacked Losivka village of Vovchansk community, Chuhuiv region. As a result of the shelling, structural elements of 3 private houses were burning and a man was killed. 

At 4:44pm, Borova forestry of Borova community, Izium region, was hit. As a result of the shelling, coniferous forest litter on the area of 2.5 hectares was burning.

At 4:20pm, russians attacked Bilyi Kolodiaz village of Vovchansk community, Chuhuiv region. As a result of the shelling, the storage facilities of the elevator were burning.

At 3:30pm, russians attacked Hlushkivka village of Kurylivka community, Kupiansk region. A private garage was on fire as a result of shelling of the KAB. Four women and one man were injured, and one woman killed.

At 3:30pm, russians attacked Ruska Lozova village of Kharkiv region. A man was injured and a woman killed as a result of a shelling by an unmanned aerial vehicle. 

At 2:55pm, russians attacked Senkove village of Kurylivka community, Kupiansk region. As a result of shelling from MRLs, two cars were on fire. The building of the village council and the club were damaged.

At 8:18am, russians attacked Kupiansk. A house burned as a result of the shelling.

Towards Kharkiv, the enemy continued its offensive. There were 19 combat engagements near Sotnytsia Kozachok, Hlyboke, Lyptsi and Vovchansk.

Towards Kupiansk, the number of attacks totalled four over the day. Defence forces repelled enemy assaults near Synkivka, Stelmakhivka and Novoselivka.

Donetsk oblast

Around 9:30am, russian troops shelled Ukrainsk, Selydove community with Grads. As a result of the shelling, there were no dead and injured, two two-storey residential buildings were damaged.  Two people were killed and two others injured.  A private house, infrastructure facility and two enterprises were damaged.

The troops of the russian federation intensified the offensive in the vicinity of Toretsk and are trying to get through it to Chasiv Yar. They storm the city from the captured Yurivka. Towards Kramatorsk, there was an attack on Chasiv Yar from the east. The fighting takes place near the channel Seversky Donets – Donbass. This is the border of the city, the Kanal microdistrict, from which the Ukrainian military retreated, because it was destroyed. Also, the russian military is storming further south — near Klishchiivka and Kalynivka.

Vadym Filashkin, Head of Donetsk Regional Military Administration, as a result of the shelling of the village of Komar, 20 people were injured. russian troops dropped three guided aerial bombs on the village. 13 private houses, four shops, two apartment buildings, two infrastructure facilities and an administrative building were damaged.

 Vadym Filashkin, Head of the RMA, says that in Donetsk oblast, shelling on 4 July killed three residents in Zakitne, Stinky, Krasnohorivka. There are injured civilians, namely:

9 residents of Novohrodivka, 4 in Ukrainsk, 3 in Pivnichne, 3 in Kurakhove, 3  in Myrne, 1 in Kleban-Byk and 1 in Kostiantynivka.

Donetsk police reports that after midnight, russia fired two guided bombs UMPB D-30SN at the residential sector of Konstiantynivka. A resident was injured, 2 apartment buildings and 4 private houses, and 2 cars destroyed.

Over the past day, the enemy launched 2434 strikes on the frontline region. The russian army attacked 21 settlements: the cities of Kostiantynivka, Krasnohorivka, Kurakhove, Lyman, Novohorodivka, Selydove, Ukrainsk, the villages of Hrodivka, Drobysheve, Pivnichne, Vyshneve, Vozdvyzhenka, Zavitne, Katerynivka, Kleban-Byk, Myrne, Mykhailivka, Novoolenivka, Petrivka, Stinky, Tarasivka. 

 66 civilian objects were damaged – 40 residential buildings, administrative buildings, cafes, canteen, garages, agricultural machinery and cars, critical infrastructure, 27 hectares of wheat burned.

The village of Stinka occupiers shelled with artillery – killed a person, damaged tractors, combine harvesters and farm buildings.

As a result of the drone attack, a civilian was killed. Another died in Krasnohirsk.

In Novohrodivka, the russians struck three times: with Uragan MRLs and drones. Nine civilians were injured, including four children. Three apartment buildings, two administrative buildings, a cafe and a civilian car were damaged.

Ukrainsk suffered from 3 Grad strikes and a drone attack –  four residents injured, 8 apartment buildings, 9 garages, and a truck damaged.

As a result of the shelling of Pivnichne, three civilians were injured, including a boy born in 2014.

russian troops dropped 4 UMPB D-30SN bombs, injuring three residents, damaging 5 private settlements, an enterprise, and destroying a wheat field.

Three people were injured in Kurakhove, where the enemy hit an apartment building. Another person was injured in the village of Kleban Byk.

Bombings in Lyman damaged the object of critical infrastructure, in Drobysheve – 4 private houses, in Tarasivka – apartment buildings and 6 private houses, in Petrivka – 5 houses.

Luhansk oblast

For three days in a row, Hrekivka, Makiivka and Nevske have been at the epicenter of enemy attacks. During the day there were 14 clashes. Defenders of Ukraine repelled 13 attempts to break through the defense, another battle continues near Nevske.

Near Stelmakhivka russian troops attacked the positions of the Armed Forces four times without success. 

Makiivka and Nevske were hit with artillery 18 times, the last three times covered with fire from the MRLs. 45 UAVs were used.

A couple of retirement age, who will now live with relatives in Kharkiv oblast, left Makiivka on their own transport. A woman born in 1964 was evacuated to the city of Sloviansk, from Krasnorichensk VMA. She will be helped to get to Poltava, where her relatives are already waiting for her. 

The “lpr” is preparing for Ukraine’s counter-offensive: the lpr general command was ordered to determine the need for protective structures and other objects of civil defense. In addition, civil defense facilities have to be in creation, reconstruction and maintenance in a state of constant readiness. 

The occupiers extended restrictions on the stay in the forests and the entry of vehicles to them, as if to provide a special fire-fighting regime. Fines were introduced: for individuals from rub 40,000 to 50,000, for legal entities – from 600,000 up to 1m. In fact, in the forest strips they hide military equipment, so people can not go there. The same is true of roads, which the occupiers for more than two years of war broke with military equipment. They say that the road surface is too old and shoot propaganda videos about the repair of infrastructure.

In Starobilsk region, with a difference of a week, two girls were again found, brutally raped, tortured and killed. The killer turned out to be a russian soldier convicted twice for gang rape. 

Artem Lysohor, Head of Luhansk Regional Military Administration, reports that residents of Luhansk oblast have submitted 46,000 applications for damaged or destroyed housing due to full-scale russian aggression.

A shelter was set up for displaced people from Luhansk oblast in the city of Slavutych. It has conditions for families with children. IDPs will be provided with employment and medical support.

What is happening now in the north of Ukraine

Kyiv oblast

According to Vadym Tokar, Head of Makariv,  on the night of 5 July russian troops launched Shahed attack drones in Ukraine. As a result of the attack in one of the settlements of Makariv community, 6 private houses and 1 car were damaged by shrapnel. Windows were smashed, doors and roofs were damaged. No one was killed or injured. 

Ruslan Kravchenko, Head of the regional military administration, informed that due to the drone attack of the russian federation, the air alert in Kyiv oblast was announced several times at night and lasted more than 4 hours. Air defense forces were operating in oblast. There were no hits to residential or critical infrastructure.

The commander of the 96th Air Defence Missile Brigade, Colonel Serhiy Yaremenko of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that US Patriot air defense systems are successfully defending Kyiv from russian Kinzhal missiles. In total, since May 2023, russia has launched more than 20 missiles of this type at the capital. All of them were successfully intercepted. 

The General Staff of the Polish Armed Forces announced that on 4 July, the Chief of the General Staff of the Polish Armed Forces, General Wieslaw Kukula, arrived in Kyiv at the invitation of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi. During the meeting, they discussed the current situation at the frontline and the functioning of Ukrainian air defense. General Wiesław Kukula began the working meeting in Kyiv by laying a bouquet of flowers at the Wall of Remembrance of those who died for Ukraine.

Kyiv Oblast State Emergency Service informed that members of the Permanent Mission of the IAEA Nuclear Safety Monitoring Mission visited the fire and rescue unit that ensures fire safety at the Chornobyl NPP and the unconditional resettlement zone as part of the technical task. The issues of readiness for prompt response to emergencies at ChNPP under martial law were discussed. Representatives of the mission got acquainted with the rescuers’ living conditions and technical equipment.

Ruslan Kravchenko, Head of the RMA announced a large-scale restoration of Kyiv oblast. 8 facilities are put into operation: 2 apartment buildings, 4 private houses and 2 shelters. Another 10 facilities will be commissioned over the next month. It is also planned to equip 18 shelters as part of the regional civilian protection programme.

The National Museum of History of Ukraine opened the exhibition Treasures of Crimea. The Return. The exhibition features 655 exhibits from four Crimean museums that Ukraine has been fighting for in Dutch courts for almost 10 years. The exhibition will become permanent and last until the final de-occupation of Crimea, after which the collection is to be moved to the peninsula. 

Zhytomyr oblast

According to Zhytomyr State Administration, since the beginning of the program “Affordable Loans 5-7-9%” small and medium-sized businesses of Zhytomyr oblast have received loans amounting to more than 9 billion UAH. Within the framework of the government project, the state supports 687 grantors for a total amount of more than UAH 227 million.

Two rescue vehicles were brought to Zhytomyr from Switzerland for employees of the General Directorate of the SIS in the oblast. d the collection of money and delivery of humanitarian aid was organized by volunteers of the association Cholidero chin Frontere in cooperation with Zhytomyr volunteers – artists of the Philharmonic Yanina and Alexander Yaremchuk. This is the 11th humanitarian aid mission to Ukraine from this organization.

In the branch of the charity Care for the Elderly in Ukraine in Zhytomyr, where men’s and bed linen are sewn for servicemen, displaced people can receive humanitarian assistance. In addition, they help with the preparation of documents and provide psychological support.

Sumy oblast

At night and in the morning of July 5, the russians carried out 9 shelling of the border areas and settlements of Sumy oblast. In total, there were 33 explosions caused by mortar shelling, FPV-drones strikes, dropping of explosive devices such as VOG from UAVs. The attacks were carried out against Krasnopillia, Bilopillia and Esman communities.

The russians carried out 23 attacks on Sumy oblast. There were 67 explosions. 7 border communities suffered shelling.

Billopillia community: the enemy struck with mortars (5 explosions) and attacked FPV with drones (2 explosions).

Krasnopillia community: mortars (12 explosions), artillery (14 explosions), VOG-type explosive device (3 explosions), and a Lancet attack (1 explosion).

Shalyhine community: 4 mines dropped by russians.

Velyka Pysarivka community: mortar attacks (6 explosions), RSZV (10 explosions), artillery (2 explosions) and UAV-type explosive devices (2 explosions).

Hotyn community: the enemy struck with mortars (4 explosions).

Yunakove community: FPV drone strike (1 explosion).

Esman community: FPV drone strike (1 explosion).

Sumy City Council reports that the budget of the city of Sumy in 2024 provides for UAH 329.4 million for the needs of the security and defense sector. 

Sumy trolleybuses from 5 July will run through the city despite the power outage. Previously, trolleybuses stopped traffic when the lights were switched off.

 Chernihiv oblast

On 4 June, russian troops attacked three border communities of Chernihiv oblast. In total, there were 30 explosions.

In Semenivka community, there were 11 strikes from barrel artillery, mortars and FPV-drones in the vicinity of Leonivka, Bleshnia, Karpovychi and Progres.

Towards Snovsk community, there were 17 strikes from barrel artillery and mortars in the direction of Leonivka, Klusy and Hrynivka.

Towards Novhorod-Siverskyi community, there were 2 strikes by FPV-drones in the direction of Hremiach.

Viacheslav Chaus, head of the regional military administration, says that since April 2024, russian troops started to use reconnaissance drones more often in Chernihiv oblast. There has been a significant increase in the use of FPV drones by which the enemy strikes the population and civilian infrastructure of the region. Also, according to him, there are attempts to penetrate russian DRG and to set up ambushes for defeat. However, their number decreased significantly compared to the previous year.

In Chernihiv, it is planned to rename 35 more streets and alleys, the names of which increase, perpetuate, promote or symbolize the russian federation and the republic of belarus. The relevant decision was submitted for consideration at the next session of  Chernihiv City Council. In total, as of 2022, 101 streets and alleys have already been renamed in Chernihiv.

Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

According to Mykola Lukashuk, Head of the Oblast Council, at night over the oblast, the air defense force shot down 3 Shahed drones.  Last night and this morning the enemy attacked Nikopol with kamikaze drones. The occupiers launched about a dozen drones around the city. A private house, an infrastructure facility and a minibus were damaged. Another woman, wounded in Dnipro by a russian attack, died in the hospital. She was 72 years old. In total, there have already been 8 victims.

The occupiers again terrorized Nikopol. Two men were injured. The 21-year-old man was hospitalized in a moderate condition. In total, there were almost two dozen attacks during the day. They used artillery and drones of various types. They targeted Nikopol, Pokrovsk and Marganets communities. Multi-storey buildings, enterprises, administrative buildings, and 7 private hostels were damaged. There was a fire in the cottage house, 4 farm buildings, a car, a power overhead line and a gas line were damaged.

 Vinnytsia oblast

Vinnytsia City Council informs that ​former US military personnel met with veterans’ assistants in Vinnytsia to share their experiences. They got acquainted with the principles of work of specialists in supporting demobilized people and talked to local experts, including Dmytro Chornyi, a participant in the Invictus Games. 

 

An Alley of Glory was opened in the village of Hrynenky, Bratslav community in Vinnytsia oblast, in honour of the fallen soldier Mykola Voichyshen. The defender was killed in a battle in the city of Sievierodonetsk and was posthumously awarded the Defender of the Fatherland medal.

Kirovohrad oblast

Arsen Riaboshapko, a veteran from Kirovohrad oblast, will represent the oblast at the Invictus Games 2025.

Cherkasy oblast

Ihor Taburets, Cherkasy Regional Military Administration, informs that at night, two russian Shakhed drones were shot down in Cherkasy oblast.

Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine

Zaporizhzhia oblast

On 4 June, the occupiers struck 10 settlements in Zaporizhzhia oblast 272 times. They directed 133 drones of various modifications at Huliaipole, Levadne, Robotyne, Mala Tokmachka, Malynivka, and Novoandriivka. Six MLRS attacks targeted Robotyne, Novoandriivka, and Levadne. Additionally, there were 133 artillery strikes at Huliaipole, Mala Tokmachka, Novoandriivka, Myrne, Robotyne, Levadne, Malynivka, Prymorske, Lobkove, and Plavni. Nine reports of housing destruction were received, but no civilian casualties were reported.

The General Staff reported that the occupiers conducted unsuccessful assaults near Mala Tokmachka. Additionally, they launched 32 unguided aerial rockets in the vicinity of Luhove.

Military personnel received 60 powerful pickups. Ukrnafta funded the purchase of 40 vehicles. Zaporizhzhia RMA defense fund purchased another 20 pickups. The keys to 40 vehicles have already been handed over to the military. Another 20 vehicles will soon be delivered to military units in the Zaporizhzhia direction.

Mykolaiv oblast

On the night of 5 July, air defense forces destroyed 3 Shahed 131/136 drones in Mykolaiv oblast.

On 4 July, the enemy struck the waters of Ochakiv community with an FPV kamikaze drone. There were no casualties. Later, the enemy launched drone attacks on Kutsurub community. Additionally, the enemy attacked the village of Lyman in Halytsynove community with a Lancet-type strike UAV, damaging a private house.

Odesa oblast

This night, the russian army attacked Odesa oblast with drones. As a result of the nighttime attack, a road was damaged. There were no reports of injuries.

Seven people injured after the missile strike on Odesa region on 4 July remain in hospitals. Two are in moderate condition, four are in serious condition, and one woman is in critical condition. The missile attack on 4 July damaged port facilities and administrative buildings, resulting in one fatality.

Representatives from the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS) in Ukraine, led by AICS head Pietro Pipi, visited Odesa oblast to discuss a partnership memorandum on the post-war recovery of Odesa and Odesa oblast. As part of this cooperation, Italy will allocate 45 million euros in aid, which will be directed towards the restoration of the region’s cultural heritage.

Kherson oblast

Yesterday, russian forces targeted civilian infrastructure using artillery, aviation, and drones. The affected areas included Kherson, Dariivka, Antonivka, Stanislav, Yantarne, Beryslav, Odradokamianka, Tiahynka, Mykhailivka, and Havrylivka. The shelling resulted in damage to 44 private houses, two multi-story buildings, a medical facility, and three cars. The enemy launched airstrikes using eight guided bombs on Dariivka and Tiahynka communities, damaging 33 residential buildings. Three people were injured.

A resident of Kherson, who was injured in the shelling the previous day, was taken to the hospital. The 65-year-old woman was diagnosed with a concussion, explosive, and cranial injuries. Her condition is assessed as moderate by the doctors.

It is reported that the enemy carried out two assaults near Krynyky on the left bank of the Dnipro, but retreated after suffering losses. The enemy increased the use of reconnaissance drones, with 296 drone flights recorded in the operational zone of the Southern Defense Forces.

The occupation authorities of the temporarily occupied territory of Kherson oblast prepared a “bill” to evict Ukrainians from their homes. According to the Center for National Resistance, houses and apartments of local residents will be declared hazardous, allowing the illegal authorities to “legalize” the confiscation of housing, even for those who stayed in the occupied area and registered their property under russian law.

Employees of Kherson Art Museum identified a painting stolen by russian forces during the occupation: “Old Crimea” by Emiliia Honcharova. So far, 114 art pieces stolen by the russian occupation authorities from Kherson Art Museum in 2022 have been identified. The total number of illegally removed items exceeds 10,000 museum exhibits.

Kochubeivka community received a bus under the DOBRE program, supported by Global Communities and USAID. The bus will be used for non-scheduled passenger transportation as needed by the community residents.

Latest news for today in the western regions of Ukraine

Volyn oblast

Lutsk community sent 26 batteries for DJI quadcopters, an AVANGER remote antenna, a dual-band signal amplifier for DJI and Autel quadcopters, and an EcoFlow Max charging portable power station to the A7028 Military Unit thanks to the budget funds.

Zakarpattia oblast

Thanks to the initiative of Viktor Mykyta, Head of the RMA, and with the support of the Azov patronage service, Valentyn, veteran of the 3rd Separate Assault Brigade, underwent rehabilitation in Turkey. Among key methods of rehabilitation abroad was paragliding.

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast

The RMA held a meeting with Svitlana Fomina, Head of Donbas, the Center for Complex Rehabilitation for Persons with Disabilities, and Nadiia Palamarchuk, Donetsk Regional Organization of the All-Ukrainian Organization Union of Persons with Disabilities of Ukraine. They discussed the scope of the repair work at the rehabilitation center, preparation of the facility for opening, needs and prospects. The center will be open to people with musculoskeletal disorders. Children and adults will be able to undergo rehabilitation there for free.

The oblast sent 5 DJI Mavic3 Thermal and 4 satellite internet sets worth almost UAH 1m to the 419th Separate Rifle Battalion thanks to the regional budget.

As part of the Care for the Hero’s Family project, 2 adults and 4 children from fallen defenders’ families will have a vacation in the Carpathians. There, comfortable accommodation, quality food and an interesting leisure program are provided for them. This year, the new season of Care for the Hero’s Family started at the beginning of March. 174 participants (mothers with children) stayed in hotels of Prykarpattia.

Lviv oblast

The RMA held a meeting with representatives of the German Chamber of Commerce and Industry, relevant ministries and German companies. Germany is the 2nd country in the EU with which Lviv oblast cooperates most actively in attracting investments and trade (the 1st is Poland). 279 enterprises with German capital are registered in the oblast.

Ihor Kosik, Taras Dobrich and Yevhen Makal, defenders from Yavoriv region, were awarded III degree For Courage state orders (posthumously). Orders were given to relatives of the fallen servicemen.

Rivne oblast

The Ministry of Veterans made public the names of 35 athletes who are the members of the Ukrainian national team. Senior sergeant of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Pavlo Korytniuk will represent Rivne oblast at the Invincible Games. The competition will be held next year in Canada. Pavlo Korytniuk was injured in July 2022 during artillery shelling in Donetsk oblast. After the injury, he conquered mountain trails in the Tatras, jumped with a parachute and fulfilled the standard of a candidate for master of sports in powerlifting. The Invincible Games are international sports competitions among war veterans who lost limbs, were wounded or traumatized on the battlefield.

The presentation of the exhibition called With Ukraine in the Heart took place in Rivne organized by the Free Belarus CF and the National University of Water Management and Nature Management. The exhibition is dedicated to the citizens of Belarus who gave their lives fighting for Ukraine in the russian-Ukrainian war.

Ternopil oblast

The 44th Separate Artillery Brigade received portable charging stations, tablets, communication devices, electric extension cords and consumables for working with them thanks to the regional budget.

Khmelnytskyi oblast

Khmelnytskyi community sent a hexacopter and 2 powerful quadcopters worth UAH 1,37m to 3 combat units of the Defense Forces thanks to the budget funds. The project was implemented within the framework of the Innovation Grant Support Program.

Chernivtsi oblast

The CBG CF and the Blau-Gelbes-Kreuz e.V. German-Ukrainian organization sent a 400 kW generator produced by Scania to the city of Chernivtsi. The generator will be installed at the Vodokanal pumping station in the village of Bila in order to provide uninterrupted water supply to the city in case of long-term power outages.

The RMA held a meeting with Anatolii Khromov, Head of the State Archives Service of Ukraine. They discussed peculiarities of the work of archival institutions in the conditions of martial law, the importance of preserving funds and the development of archival affairs.

30 war participants from Bukovyna will have their own housing due to the subsidy from the state budget to local budgets.  UAH 66.4m was allocated to pay monetary compensation to 30 families of Ukrainian defenders. With these funds, within a year from the day the monetary compensation is credited to a special account in an authorized bank, applicants can independently purchase housing in residential buildings accepted for operation in any settlement on the territory of Ukraine, except for the temporarily occupied territory and the demarcation line. Last year, UAH 65.4m was allocated to the oblast to provide housing for 31 combatants. 29 of them have already purchased housing and have their own home.

International support of Ukraine in the russian-Ukrainian war (russia’s invasion of Ukraine)

Martin Jaeger, German Ambassador to Ukraine, announced that a 3rd Patriot air defense system arrived in Ukraine. The diplomat also added that the Ukrainian crew of the system had successfully undergone appropriate training in Germany in recent months.

Latvia will send  2,500 drones of various types and characteristics worth €4m to Ukraine. The first batch of a large package (300 drones) will be delivered in the coming days.

Jens Stoltenberg, NATO Secretary General, hopes that Ukraine will become a member of the Alliance in the next 10 years. Currently, military support for Kyiv should be increased.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of France reported that the country sent 41 power generators to Chernihiv and Kharkiv, whose energy infrastructure was severely damaged by russian strikes. The agency emphasized that France demonstrates support for the Ukrainian people with this step.

The European Council reacted to Viktor Orban’s trip to moscow. Charles Michel, Head of the Council, stated that Hungary, which has been chairing the Council of the European Union since the beginning of July, does not have a mandate to interact with russia on behalf of the EU.

Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission, criticized Viktor Orban for his visit to the russian federation. She noted that only unity and determination will pave the way to a comprehensive, just and lasting peace in Ukraine.

After the EU introduced personal sanctions against certain citizens of the russian federation, YouTube blocked channels of shaman, hazmanov, polyna haharina, chicherina and leps.
