Since the beginning of the day, the aggressor has launched 96 attacks on the positions of the Defense Forces.
Artillery shelling of border areas continues. Today in the Sumy region, the settlements of Korenok, Neskuchne, Sopych, Potapivka, Hyrky, Rohizne, Prohres, Volfyne, Kozache, Marchyshyna Buda, Ulanove, and Yastrubshchyna were affected; in the Chernihiv region – Kamianska Sloboda, Klyusy, and Bohdanove.
In the Northern Slobozhanskyi and Kursk directions, six clashes with the enemy took place. The enemy carried out 32 shelling attacks on settlements and positions of our troops, including three using multiple launch rocket systems.
In the Southern Slobozhanskyi direction, the invaders made eight attempts to break through the defense in the areas of Lyman, Izbytske, Starytsia, Vovchani Khutory, Okhrimivka, and towards Kozacha Lopan. Four battles are still ongoing at this time.
In the Kupiansk direction, the enemy attacked the positions of the Defense Forces once today, in the direction of Shyikivka.
In the Lyman direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled nine attempts by the enemy to advance in the areas of Novoselivka, Drobysheve, and Lyman; one engagement is still ongoing.
In the Sloviansk direction, the Defense Forces successfully stopped twelve enemy attempts to advance near Zakitne and towards Kryva Luka, Riznykivka, and Rai-Oleksandrivka. One engagement is ongoing.
In the Kramatorsk direction, the enemy attempted once to advance toward the settlement of Malynivka.
In the Kostiantynivka direction, our defenders repelled twelve attacks. Ten assaults were successfully stopped near Ivanopillia, Illinivka, and towards Kostiantynivka and Rusyn Yar; two attacks are still ongoing.
In the Pokrovsk direction, since the beginning of the day, the occupiers have attempted 25 times to push our troops from their positions. Twenty-two attacks were repelled in the areas of Dorozhnie, Rodynske, Novooleksandrivka, Serhiivka, Kotlyne, Muravka, and towards Vilne, Toretske, Kucheriv Yar, Bilytske, Nikanorivka, Dobropillia, Novyi Donbas, Hanniivka, and Filiia. Three engagements are ongoing.
In the Oleksandrivsk direction, the enemy attempted once to advance in the area of Oleksandrohrad.
In the Huliaipole direction, the Defense Forces successfully repelled thirteen enemy attacks in the areas of Rybne, Huliaipole, Zaliznychne, Olenokostiantynivka, Charivne, and towards Dobropillia, Kosivtseve, Zarichne, Staro-Ukrainka, Danylivka, and Hirske. One engagement is ongoing.
In the Orikhiv and Prydniprovske directions, no enemy attempts to advance were recorded.
In other directions, there have been no significant changes in the situation so far. No enemy attempts to advance have been recorded.
Ukrainian forces continue to exhaust the enemy along the entire line of contact and in the rear areas.
Recent war events in the east of Ukraine
Kharkiv oblast
Over the past day, 221 combat engagements were recorded across the entire front line in the Kharkiv region.
In the Southern Slobozhanskyi direction, Russian forces launched 12 attacks on Ukrainian positions in the directions of Vilcha, Kozacha Lopan, Synelnykove, Pokaliane, Bochkovе, Kolodiazne, and near Starytsia.
In the Kupiansk direction, the enemy carried out two attacks in the directions of Kucherivka and Hlushkivka.
Explosive ordnance disposal specialists from the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (DSNS) neutralized an unexploded 500-kilogram high-explosive aerial bomb that had fallen on the territory of a private household in Derhachi following a Russian attack. As a result of the impact, an outbuilding was destroyed. Residents of nearby houses were evacuated to a safe location.

Around 08:00, Russian forces dropped an explosive device from a drone on a 58-year-old resident of Tsupivka, who was traveling by motorcycle on the Derhachi–Kozacha Lopan road. The man sustained severe injuries and was hospitalized.
During the night of June 23 and in the morning, Zolochiv came under FPV drone strikes twice. During the first attack, a private house and outbuildings were destroyed. As a result of the second strike, the hospital premises were damaged, including the façade, windows, heating system, equipment, and furniture of the dental office.
Over the past day, Russian strikes hit Kharkiv and 16 settlements in the region. One person was killed and eight others were injured.
In the village of Hrushivka in the Kindrashivka community, a 40-year-old man was killed. In Kharkiv, a 48-year-old woman was injured. In Bohodukhiv, five women aged 32, 42, 44, 49, and 57, as well as men aged 38 and 46, were injured.
Russian forces attacked the Kyivskyi, Saltivskyi, and Nemyshlianskyi districts of Kharkiv with drones.
For strikes on the region, the Russian army used three missiles, one “Lancet” drone, nine “Molniya” drones, 13 FPV drones, and 16 additional drones of unspecified type.
In Kharkiv, two private houses, two cars, power lines, and a beauty salon were damaged.
In the Bohodukhiv district, damage was reported to private houses, administrative buildings, buses, cars, a shop, a utility enterprise, an elevator facility, and a civilian company.
In the Kupiansk district, an administrative building, vehicles, and a tractor were damaged.
In the Kharkiv district, private houses, a civilian enterprise, storage facilities, and a car were damaged.
As a result of a renewed strike on Bohodukhiv on June 22 near a shop, three people were injured. A man and a woman sustained wounds, while another woman experienced an acute stress reaction.
Authorities in Kharkiv region expect an increase in Russian strikes, particularly guided aerial bombs, according to Head of the Regional Military Administration Oleh Syniehubov. He stated that intelligence indicates Russia is preparing to intensify attacks on Kharkiv and other Ukrainian cities, potentially as part of preparations for the difficult winter period. At the same time, a new electronic warfare system is being deployed in the region to strengthen protection against air attacks.
The transit evacuation point in Lozova received 212 people over the past day. Since its opening, 41,695 evacuees have been registered there.
In the settlement of Shevchenkove in the Kupiansk district and other communities in the area, mandatory evacuation may be announced due to the deteriorating security situation.
Donetsk oblast
Russian army carried out 16 attacks in the Sloviansk direction over the past day. The occupiers conducted assaults near Riznykivka, Kalenyky, Zakitne, and towards the settlements of Rai-Oleksandrivka and Kryva Luka, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported in its morning briefing.
In the Pokrovsk direction, there were 28 clashes over the course of the day, while another 20 attacks were repelled by the Defense Forces in the Lyman sector.
In the Lyman direction in northern Donetsk region, the Russian army has intensified its assaults. The occupiers are applying pressure and attempting to advance north of the city while they are already experiencing supply issues, particularly fuel shortages, following Ukrainian strikes on their logistics, said Viktor Trehubov, spokesperson for the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
Attacks in the directions of Lyman and Kostiantynivka remain a priority for the Russian army as part of its effort to advance toward Sloviansk and Kramatorsk, the officer explained.
Ukrainian forces continue to eliminate Russian infantry on the approaches to Kostiantynivka and within the urban area. Enemy troops have been identified and neutralized in the southern, central, and western parts of the city, said acting deputy commander of the 19th Army Corps Yurii “Madyar” Madiar.
“Their losses are very high. Recently, our statistics showed that in one day, 53 enemy soldiers were eliminated, while we had three losses.”
Ukrainian forces also struck a training range for Russian drone operators in temporarily occupied Debaltseve. The strike was carried out on the night of June 23 by pilots of the 20th brigade “K-2,” according to the commander of the Unmanned Systems Forces, Robert “Madyar” Brovdi.
Ukrainian Defense Forces pilots are targeting UAV launch points, artillery, and infantry positions on the approaches to Kostiantynivka. Russian assault groups are forced to travel 20–30 kilometers on foot to attempt to reach the city.
In the morning, Russian forces attacked Kramatorsk with an FPV drone. In the private sector of the city, four houses were damaged, according to the Donetsk region emergency service.
On June 22, police recorded 1,207 shelling incidents along the frontline and in residential areas of the region.
Seven settlements came under fire: the cities of Druzhkivka, Kramatorsk, Sloviansk, and the settlement of Bilenke, as well as the villages of Kuritsyne, Saimylivka, and Spasko-Mykhailivka.
Twenty-one civilian objects were damaged, including seven residential buildings.
- Sloviansk was struck with two KAB-250 aerial bombs and a “Molniya-2” drone, killing one civilian and damaging critical infrastructure.
- In Druzhkivka, an FPV drone struck a civilian vehicle, killing two people (a man and a woman); apartment and private houses were also damaged.
- Bilenke was attacked with three KAB bombs and a drone; one person was injured and four private houses were damaged.
- In Kramatorsk, an enemy KAB-250 bomb and two FPV drones damaged an apartment building, an enterprise, a non-residential building, and a civilian vehicle.
- In Kuritsyne and Saimylivka, FPV drones damaged vehicles.
It has also been reported that another woman died from injuries sustained during the June 13 strike on central Sloviansk. She had been hospitalized in Kharkiv.
According to the city administration, the woman died in hospital at the age of 52 after severe injuries from the airstrike that killed her son, husband, and mother-in-law on the same day. In total, eight people were wounded in that attack, including a child.
The Prosecutor’s Office reported that Russian forces dropped three FAB-250 aerial bombs with UMPK guidance kits on the city, damaging apartment buildings and vehicles.
“Drones like flies”: the “White Angels” police unit and volunteers evacuated four residents of Druzhkivka who survived shelling.
One family hid from a Russian drone in a shed, while an elderly woman managed to leave her apartment shortly before it was destroyed.
Ms. Valentyna, 69, who had suffered two strokes and could barely walk, moved from her 9th-floor apartment to her son’s house, which he had left earlier. That move saved her life when Russian forces destroyed her apartment. However, drones continue to hunt civilians around the clock.
“I used to walk with a walker, but I stopped using it because it makes noise—you can’t hear the FPVs,” she said.
Police continue evacuations from Druzhkivka, which is under daily shelling.
From occupied Mariupol, nearly 90,000 tons of wheat have been exported since the beginning of the year, the city council reported. At the same time, after Ukrainian strikes on infrastructure in early June, the operation of the facility was effectively halted.
What is happening now in the north of Ukraine
Kyiv oblast
In the Kyiv region, more than 500 families have used housing vouchers under the “єВідновлення – Housing for IDPs from Temporarily Occupied Territories” program, the Regional Military Administration reported. The first stage of the program provides housing vouchers for internally displaced persons who have left temporarily occupied territories and have the status of a combatant or a person with a disability resulting from the war.
Since the beginning of this year, Kyiv has paid 190 million UAH in financial assistance to residents affected by Russian shelling, the Kyiv City Military Administration reported. A total of 6,793 Kyiv residents have received support from the city.
At Saint Sophia of Kyiv, 28 seismic sensors have been installed to monitor the impact of missile strikes, explosions, and other external factors on the monument complex, the director general of the reserve, Kovalchuk, said. Twenty sensors were installed in Saint Sophia Cathedral, and eight more in the bell tower. The system was funded by UNESCO. It is recalled that on June 10, 2025, Saint Sophia Cathedral in Kyiv was damaged as a result of a Russian strike, when the blast wave damaged a cornice on the main apse of the church. On the night of June 15, 2026, a Russian drone hit the altar part of the Assumption Cathedral of the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra.
On June 22, the exhibition “Veterans in Public Service” was presented within the walls of Saint Sophia of Kyiv. The photo project features 16 stories of veterans who, after returning from the war, continued to serve the state in civilian roles.
Zhytomyr oblast
In the Zhytomyr region, 115 veteran support specialists are already working, accompanying more than 6,800 veterans, their family members, and the families of fallen soldiers, the Regional Military Administration reported.
They help beneficiaries navigate state programs, apply for benefits, receive social assistance, and address complex life issues.
Sumy oblast
The Regional Military Administration reported that over the past week, Defence Forces units destroyed or suppressed 1,162 enemy UAVs in Sumy oblast using electronic warfare systems. Among them were 865 strike drones and 32 reconnaissance drones. A further 265 UAVs were suppressed by electronic warfare systems.
According to the Territorial Defence Zone Headquarters, a total of 1,334 enemy UAVs were detected in the skies over the oblast. Ukrainian air defence and electronic warfare units destroyed or suppressed 87% of them.
Serhii Kryvosheienko, Head of Sumy City Military Administration, said that two men were injured after a russian Molniya UAV struck an infrastructure facility in one of the starosta districts of Sumy community. Additional strikes were recorded on a residential area in Sumy and on a private household in Stetskivskyi starosta district.
Oleh Hryhorov, Head of Sumy Regional Military Administration, informed that on the evening of 22 June, russian forces carried out six guided aerial bomb strikes on Sumy community.
A 60-year-old public transport driver was injured. The strikes occurred in Kovpakivskyi district. At the time of the attack, the trolleybus was not carrying passengers. The vehicle was destroyed after catching fire as a result of the strike.
Two other women also sought medical assistance.

The National Police of Sumy oblast and Sumy City Military Administration reported that on 22 June, an unidentified object exploded in Sumy while grass was being cut. A municipal enterprise employee was injured. The 44-year-old man is receiving treatment in hospital.
From the morning of 22 June to the morning of 23 June, russian forces carried out nearly 50 attacks on 23 settlements across 13 territorial communities of the oblast. The highest number of attacks was recorded in Sumy and Shostka regions. The enemy used mortars, artillery, FPV drones, UAVs and guided aerial bombs. Air raid alerts in the oblast lasted for 21 hours and 28 minutes during the reporting period.
The Regional Military Administration informed that, as of the morning of 23 June, nine people had been injured in enemy attacks across Sumy oblast over the previous 24 hours. Destruction and damage to private homes, vehicles and civilian infrastructure facilities were also recorded:
▪️ In Bilopollia community, a 30-year-old man and women aged 61, 42 and 55 were injured in an enemy missile strike. Educational institution buildings, apartment buildings, a civilian infrastructure facility, a private residential house and outbuildings were damaged;
▪️ In Sumy community, a 57-year-old man was wounded and women aged 35 and 47, along with a 41-year-old man, were injured in guided aerial bomb strikes. A 41-year-old man was also injured in an enemy drone strike. A 44-year-old man sustained injuries in the detonation of an explosive object. Civilian infrastructure facilities, non-residential premises and a passenger vehicle were damaged, while a trolleybus was destroyed;
▪️ In Vorozhba community, a private house was destroyed, while another private residential house and outbuildings were damaged;
▪️ In Khutir-Mykhailivskyi community, a private residential house was damaged;
▪️ In Yampil community, a warehouse was damaged;
▪️ In Hlukhiv community, non-residential premises, residential houses and civilian infrastructure facilities were damaged;
▪️ In Seredyna-Buda community, a private residential house and a shop building were destroyed, while other private residential houses and a civilian infrastructure facility were damaged;
▪️ In Znob-Novhorodske community, private residential houses were damaged;
▪️ In Esman community, private residential houses were destroyed.
During the reporting period, local authorities, together with units of the State Emergency Service, National Police and non-governmental organisations, evacuated 16 people from border communities.
Chernihiv oblast
Ratan Akhmedov, Head of Koriukivska community, said that on 23 June, a strike was recorded on a non-operational and previously damaged transport infrastructure facility. No casualties were reported.
Chernihiv Regional Military Administration reported that during the night of 23 June, an enemy FPV drone struck a house in Semenivka. The building was damaged.
Mena City Council informed that an energy infrastructure facility in Menska community was damaged as a result of a russian attack on 22 June. Electricity supply has been disrupted across the community.
According to Oleksandr Seliverstov, Head of Novhorod-Siverskyi Regional Military Administration, two people were injured in the attack on the grounds of a lyceum in Novhorod-Siverskyi on 22 June. A 68-year-old man sustained injuries and remains in hospital with blast-related trauma. A local woman born in 1976 also sought medical assistance independently.
A Molniya-type russian UAV struck the lyceum grounds at around 7:15am. The explosion shattered 38 windows and damaged the interior facade of the educational institution.
Oleksandr Seliverstov, Head of Novhorod-Siverskyi District Military Administration, reported that on 22 June, an attempt by russian forces to carry out remote mining using strike UAVs was recorded in Novhorod-Siverskyi region, Chernihiv oblast.
Viacheslav Chaus, Head of Chernihiv Regional Military Administration, said that on 22 June, the enemy struck energy and communications facilities.
Chernihiv Border Guard Detachment informed that on 22 June, russian forces attacked four border communities in Chernihiv oblast: Novhorod-Siverskyi, Semenivka, Horodnia and Snovsk. The enemy carried out mortar attacks (13 explosions), artillery strikes (2 explosions), FPV drone attacks (28 explosions), and dropped an explosive device from a UAV (1 explosion). Twelve settlements came under enemy fire.
Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine
Dnipropetrovsk oblast
7 enemy UAVs were destroyed over the oblast.
Nikopol region. The russian forces attacked Nikopol, Chervonohryhorivka, Mozolevske and Pokrovske rural and urban communities by drones and UAVs. 2 private houses, 2 outbuildings, a vehicle, an agricultural enterprise, a tractor, an unused building and infrastructure were damaged.
Kryvyi Rih region. Zelenodolsk community came under artillery attack.
Dnipro. UAVs were launched at the oblast.
Synelnykove region. Vasylkivka community was struck by KABs. A private house caught fire. One house was destroyed, another 12 damaged, and a fire station was affected.
Samar region. A private house was damaged in Samar city as a result of a UAV attack.
Kamianske region. An outbuilding caught fire in Bozhedarivka community following a UAV attack. A man was injured.
Nikopol region. 3 people were killed in a UAV strike in Nikopol. Overall, 6 people were injured across the region. The russian forces attacked the regional centre, Pokrovske rural community, Chervonohryhorivka, Myrove and Marhanets communities by drones and artillery. Fires broke out. 4 apartment buildings and 3 private houses were damaged, along with an agricultural enterprise, 6 shops, a pharmacy, a post office, a fire truck, a car, a minibus and a gas station.
Kryvyi Rih region. 3 people were killed and 26 injured in a missile attack on Kryvyi Rih. Fires broke out. An unused building, an administrative building, infrastructure, an excavator and 15 vehicles were damaged.
Vinnytsia oblast
Vinnytsia oblast delivered 500 FPV drones and 25 Matrice 4E quadcopters to 5 military brigades. The soldiers of these brigades are carrying out missions in Kupiansk and Eastern axis.
Kirovohrad oblast
In Kropyvnytskyi, residents paid tribute to servicemen Kostiantyn Terentiev, Mykola Nikolenko, Oleksandr Bozhko and Vitalii Zhelikhivskyi.
Kostiantyn Terentiev was killed on 5 April 2024. Since then, he had been considered missing in action. He was 41 years old.
Mykola Nikolenko had been listed as missing since November 2023. A DNA match has now confirmed his death. He was 50 years old.
Oleksandr Bozhko was killed on 25 March 2025, while carrying out a combat mission near Novoekonomichne settlement in Pokrovsk region, Donetsk oblast. He had been considered missing in action since then. He was 44 years old.
Vitalii Zhelikhivskyi was killed on 25 March 2024, while carrying out a combat mission near Verbove village in Zaporizhzhia oblast. He was 47 years old.
In Novyi Starodub village, Oleksandriia region, Kirovohrad oblast, residents welcomed home Andrii Mykhailyshyn, a serviceman of the National Guard of Ukraine who was released from russian captivity. He spent more than 4 years in russian captivity, from May 2022 until 5 June 2026. He was captured in Mariupol.
Poltava oblast
People injured in the russian attack of 20 June continue to receive treatment in medical facilities in Poltava. Over the past day, one child was transferred from intensive care to the surgical department. 2 children remain in intensive care, and doctors assess their condition as moderate. 2 children in the trauma department are preparing for discharge. 2 injured adults also remain hospitalised.
Vitalii Diakivnych, Head of the RMA, reported that a russian UAV crash was recorded in Myrhorod region. There were no casualties or damage.
Cherkasy oblast
Memorial plaques honoring fallen defenders Serhii Pryshchipko, Denys Kozyrenko and Volodymyr Slipenkyi were unveiled in Monastyryshche community.
In Uman, residents paid tribute to fallen soldier Vladyslav Kolomiiets, born in 1977. He was killed on 12 September 2024, while carrying out a combat mission near Ukrainsk city, Pokrovsk region, Donetsk oblast.

Zaporizhzhia oblast
Ivan Fedorov, Head of Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, reported that a woman was killed and 2 others were injured as a result of a russian KAB attack on Mariivka village in Zaporizhzhia oblast. A store and residential buildings were damaged.
According to the RMA, earlier today, russian forces struck Bilenke village by a guided aerial bomb. Private houses, adjacent property and fences were damaged. There were no casualties reported.
Ivan Fedorov, Head of the RMA, informed that the russian military launched a strike on Zaporizhzhia oblast. A building belonging to an educational institution caught fire. Windows of the Administrative Services Centre (CNAP) and the village council building were damaged.
A 23-year-old woman was injured in a morning russian attack. Cars and 5 heavy trucks parked at a private lot caught fire, and a gas station building was damaged.
Based on the information provided by the National Police, as a result of drone attacks on Zaporizhzhia city and settlements in Zaporizhzhia oblast on 22 June, the following people were injured: a 59-year-old man in Zaporizhzhia; 2 children aged 14 and 17, and a 22-year-old man in Dolynske village; a 73-year-old woman and a 73-year-old man in Vilniansk, where a russian drone struck a private house; a 40-year-old community police officer who was injured while on duty in Komyshuvakha, where a Molniia drone hit an educational institution.
Mykolaiv oblast
According to Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration, russian forces carried out 4 FPV drone attacks on Ochakiv and Halytsynove communities. In Lymany village, a power line and a garage were damaged. There were no injuries reported.
Odesa oblast
Referring to the Air Force, during the day, UAVs flying from the Black Sea were detected heading toward Chornomorsk.
Oleh Kiper, Head of the RMA, stated that a 26-year-old woman was killed and a 39-year-old man was injured as a result of a russian attack on the coast of Odesa oblast.
Relying on the information provided by the Ukrainian Air Force, during the night, UAVs were detected over the Black Sea heading toward Odesa oblast.
Kherson oblast
According to Kherson Regional Military Administration, at around 6pm, a 47-year-old man sustained fatal injuries during russian shelling of Korabelnyi district of Kherson.
At approximately the same time, russian artillery shelled Korabelnyi district. A 37-year-old woman was injured and diagnosed with blast trauma, concussion and an acute stress reaction. Medical assistance was required for a 62-year-old woman and a 64-year-old man, both of whom suffered blast injuries, concussions and acute stress reactions.
At around 12:30pm, russian forces attacked a bus stop in Korabelnyi district of Kherson by a drone. A 64-year-old man suffered a concussion, blast trauma and a closed traumatic brain injury.
A 54-year-old man who had been injured in a russian drone attack in Chornobaivka the previous day was diagnosed with blast trauma and a concussion.
At approximately 7:30am, russian forces struck a public transport stop in Dniprovskyi district of Kherson by a drone. A 40-year-old man sustained shrapnel wounds to his arm, a concussion, blast trauma and a closed traumatic brain injury.

Volyn oblast
Volodymyr Zelenskyy, President of Ukraine, posthumously awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine to Denis Popovych, Colonel of the Central Military District A, from Lutsk, who was killed on 23 May 2026 while performing a combat mission in Donetsk oblast. The Golden Star award was received by his family.
Zakarpattia oblast
38 families of military personnel, veterans, and family members of fallen defenders of Ukraine received certificates. Among them, 7 families from Uzhhorod.
Ivano-Frankivsk oblast
The oblast received humanitarian aid from Swedish partners for social institutions in the Carpathian region. Part of the aid was sent to Ivano-Frankivsk Geriatric Boarding house, where 176 residents are currently staying.
Lviv oblast
A group of 39 children of fallen Heroes, prisoners of war, missing defenders, veterans and children with disabilities as a result of the war went on a two-week vacation to France. The trip was organized thanks to the long-term cooperation of the Lviv Regional State Administration, the Occitania Region, the city of Montpellier and the European Shelter NGO.
Rivne oblast
25 children of deceased and missing servicemen from Rivne oblast went to Bulgaria for recuperation. As in the previous 2 years, the trip was made possible thanks to the joint initiative of Rivne RMA, the regional council, the American Life Christian Church and the association of churches of the Christian World Federation.
Ternopil oblast

Khmelnytskyi oblast
Over the past week, an air alert signal sounded 8 times in Khmelnytskyi oblast. On 21 June, the Air Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine shot down/suppressed 5 enemy drones. There were no deaths, injuries or damage.

The Netherlands has sent another mine-clearing ship to Ukraine. The ship was named Henichesk in honor of the ship that was sunk while performing a combat mission in 2022 near Kinburn Spit.
