What happened in Ukraine today:

Here is operational information of the General Staff as of 4 pm:   

The armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine continues. The enemy carried out 61 offensive actions. The occupiers continue to deploy aviation and artillery against the border areas of Ukraine.

In Sumy oblast, the settlements of Sopych, Rohizne, Korenok, Neskuchne, Malushyne, Volfyne, Bachivsk, Ryzhivka, Buniakyne, and Holubivka came under enemy fire, as did Tymonovychi in Chernihiv oblast. Additionally, Pavlivka in Sumy oblast subjected to airstrikes.

Towards Northern Sloboda and Kursk, there was one combat engagement. The invaders launched three airstrikes using nine guided aerial bombs and carried out 24 shellings, including four involving the use of MLRS.

Towards Southern Sloboda, the enemy attacked the positions of our troops three times; one engagement is still ongoing. Fighting took place in the vicinity of Vovchansk and Lyman.

Towards Kupiansk, our defenders halted one enemy attempt to advance towards Novoplatonivka.

Towards Lyman, the enemy attempted to wedge into our defense six times; two engagements are currently ongoing. Assault actions were recorded in the vicinity of Novyi Myr, Drobysheve, Lyman, Dibrova, Torske, and Ozerne.

Towards Slovyansk, the enemy launched four assaults on the positions of the Defense Forces in the vicinity of Kryva Luka and Zakitne.

Towards Kramatorsk, no enemy offensive operations were recorded.

Towards Kostiantynivka, the occupiers carried out four attacks, one of which is still ongoing. The enemy demonstrated activity near the settlements of Ivanopillia, Illinivka, and Kostiantynivka.

Towards Pokrovsk, our defenders halted 15 assault actions by the aggressor. The invaders attacked in the vicinity of Vasylivka, Hryshyne, Rodynske, Shevchenko, Novopidhorodnie, Kotlyne, Udachne, and Novopavlivka.

Towards Oleksandrivka, the enemy attacked once in the vicinity of Vorone.

Towards Huliaipole, the occupiers carried out 21 attacks; five engagements are ongoing at this time. The enemy exerted pressure in the vicinity of Rybne, Dobropillia, Vozdvyzhivka, Olenokostiantynivka, Huliaipilske, Ternuvate, Zaliznychne, Verkhnia Tersa, and Charivne.

Towards Orikhiv, our defenders halted two enemy attempts to advance in the vicinity of Stepove and Stepnohirsk.

Towards Kherson, one enemy attack was recorded towards the Antonivka Bridge.

Towards Volyn and Polissia, there were no signs of the formation of enemy offensive groupings.

Recent war events in the east of Ukraine

Kharkiv oblast

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that russians attacked three times towards Southern Sloboda—in the vicinity of Lyman and Vovchansk. As of 16:00, one engagement is still ongoing.

Towards Kupiansk, the russian federation attempted once to advance towards Novoplatonivka.

There were 237 combat engagements in the oblast.

Towards Southern Sloboda, the enemy attacked the positions of our units eight times in the vicinity of Lyman, Starytsia, Lyptsi, Vovchansk, Okhrimivka, and Volokhivka.

Towards Kupiansk, the enemy attacked twice near Shyikivka and Podoly.

A 38-year-old man struck an explosive device with his bicycle on the highway between the villages of Kozacha Lopan and Nova Kozacha, Derhachi community, the press service of the State Emergency Service of Kharkiv oblast reported. According to the agency, the cyclist sustained injuries and was hospitalized at the regional clinical hospital in Kharkiv. The cyclist who hit the munition between Kozacha Lopan and Nova Kozacha suffered a partial amputation of his left forearm and blast injuries, reported the head of Derhachi community, Viacheslav Zadorenko. According to him, doctors are attempting to stabilize the casualty’s condition.

At dawn on 13 June, the Russian army struck the settlement of Shevchenkove in the Kupiansk area with guided aerial bombs, reported the head of the Settlement Military Administration, Serhii Starikov. According to him, the attack damaged the premises of the clinic as well as the emergency medicine and therapy departments within the hospital complex. This is the second time the medical facility has come under attack since the beginning of 2026.

On the night of 11 June, the Russians attacked Shevchenkove with a dozen “Geran” type strike drones, Starikov reported. The attack caused destruction and damage to residential buildings.

A 76-year-old man sustained minor injuries as a result of the Russian troops’ attack in Shevchenkove and refused hospitalization, reported Viktor Zabashta, the director of the Regional Center for Emergency Medical Care and Disaster Medicine. According to him, work is currently underway at the damaged hospital to mitigate the aftermath of the Russian strikes—in particular, boarding up blown-out windows.

At around 05:30 on 13 June, the Russian army attacked the village of Petrivка with an FPV drone, Viktor Kovalenko, the head of the Zolochiv hromada, told journalists. According to him, a private house was damaged as a result of the hit; no people were injured. According to Kovalenko, six residents currently remain in Petrivka. These are predominantly elderly people, the head of the City Military Administration added.

Over the past day, 17 settlements in Kharkiv oblast came under enemy fire. As a result of the shelling, one person was killed and three others were injured.

  • In the village of Petropavlivka, Vovchansk hromada, a 70-year-old man was killed.
  • In the settlement of Pechenihy, a 63-year-old man was injured.
  • In the village of Kovali, Zolochiv community, an 84-year-old woman suffered an acute stress reaction.
  • In the settlement of Shevchenkove, a 76-year-old man was injured.
  • In a field near the settlement of Zolochiv, a 55-year-old man was injured as a result of the explosion of an unidentified device.

The enemy actively deployed 4 guided aerial bombs, 1 Geran-2 type UAV, 4 Molniya type UAVs, 7 FPV drones, and 15 UAVs (type being established) across Kharkiv oblast.

Civilian infrastructure facilities were damaged or destroyed:

  • In Bohodukhiv region: 4 private houses were damaged (in the village of Korbyni Ivany, the village of Kovali, the village of Odnorobivka, and the city of Bohodukhiv), 2 private houses in the village of Sinne, and 2 private houses in the village of Zavadske.
  • In Kupiansk region: a private house, a shop, and a civilian enterprise were damaged in the settlement of Prykolotne; a private house, a medical facility, and 4 emergency medical service vehicles were hit in the settlement of Shevchenkove.
  • In Izium region: a private house was damaged in the city of Barvinkove.
  • In Kharkiv region: railway infrastructure was damaged in the city of Liubotyn.
  • In Chuhuiv region: 13 private houses were damaged in the settlement of Pechenihy, a private house in the village of Yurchenkove, and power lines in the village of Bazaliivka.

The 70-year-old man was killed in Petropavlivka, Vovchansk community, reported the head of the Oblast Military Administration, Oleh Syniehubov. The press service of the regional police specified that the 70-year-old man died as a result of a Russian FPV drone attack in Petropavlivka, Vovchansk hromada of Chuhuiv raion. According to the police, the Russians scored two direct hits on the vehicle the pensioner was in.

The 63-year-old man was injured in the settlement of Pechenihy, Oleh Syniehubov reported. The 63-year-old resident of Pechenihy sustained a blast injury and a concussion as a result of a Russian FPV drone attack, noted Anna Hontar, the spokesperson for the Oblast Military Administration. The man was also diagnosed with shell shock and a forehead wound.

The 76-year-old man was injured in Shevchenkove, the head of the Kharkiv Oblast Military Administration reported.

The 84-year-old woman suffered an acute stress reaction as a result of a “Molniya”-type UAV hitting Kovali, reported Viktor Kovalenko, the head of the Zolochiv hromada.

The 55-year-old agricultural machinery operator detonated a mine-explosive device during field work in Zolochiv, Viktor Kovalenko stated.

A medical facility, four emergency vehicles, and a private house were damaged as a result of an attack by Russian forces in Shevchenkove, Kupiansk raion, the Oblast Military Administration reported. According to the head of the Settlement Military Administration, Serhiy Starikov, the hospital sustained damage due to strikes by Russian aerial bombs.

Thirteen private houses sustained damage in Pechenihy, Chuhuiv raion. The villages of Yurchenkove and Bazaliivka in Chuhuiv raion, Bohodukhiv, and the villages of Korbyni Ivany and Sinne in Bohodukhiv raion, Prykolotne in Kupiansk raion, Barvinkove in Izium raion, and Liubotyn in Kharkiv raion also came under attack.

Zavadske was attacked with FPV drones—two private houses and outbuildings were damaged. Odnorobivka also came under attack; no people were injured.

First responders extinguished a fire that broke out as a result of a strike in Chuhuiv raion, the State Emergency Service of Kharkiv oblast reported.

A 65-year-old man was killed as a result of a Russian FPV drone hit in Kozacha Lopan on 10 June, reported the head of Derhachi City Military Administration, Viacheslav Zadorenko. On 11 June, an FPV drone also killed a 55-year-old resident of the village. The issue of transporting their bodies to the morgue is currently being resolved.

Thirty-nine-year-old Andriy Kravchenko, who was killed by an FPV drone strike on the Kharkiv ring road on 21 May, was a truck driver for a logistics company transporting materials for LLC “Automahistral-Pivden,” said Andriy Aleksieiev, the head of the regional Service for Restoration and Infrastructure. According to him, at the moment of the hit, the driver was transporting crushed stone between Shevchenkove and Derhachi. Andriy Kravchenko is the tenth employee of the service to be killed while performing his duties.

The transit evacuation point in Lozova accommodated 219 people over the past day. In total, 39,719 people have been registered at the point since it began operating.

More than 100 people remain in the Dvorichna hromada as of June 2026, Halyna Turbaba, the head of the City Military Administration, told Ukrainian Radio Kharkiv. According to her, 35 out of 55 settlements in the hromada are currently occupied, while the rest constitute territory where active fighting is ongoing.

Donetsk oblast

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, russian troops launched 19 assaults on the positions of the Defense Forces towards Lyman. The occupiers attacked near Zarične, Lyman, Shyikivka, Novoselivka, Serednie, Drobysheve, Ozerne, Torske, and Novyi Myr.

Ukrainian servicemen repelled 33 attacks towards Pokrovsk and 14 engagements towards Slovyansk.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed another four strikes on Russian army targets in the temporarily occupied territories of Donetsk oblast. The Ukrainian military hit concentrations of occupiers in Soledar, Voskresenka, and Uspenivka.

The Ukrainian military conducted an operation in Pokrovsk, destroying six russian army drone launch sites. The occupiers had set them up near a cafe, in a children’s goods store, and in other civilian buildings.

The Unmanned Systems Forces attacked russian army UAV control posts in Novoandriivka, Donetsk oblast, and in Dovzhansk, Luhansk oblast. The occupiers’ locations were destroyed by strike drones.

A 9-year-old boy is among the injured: police document the consequences of a bomb strike on Slovyansk.

At around 10:40, Russian troops dropped three FAB-250 bombs with UMPK (guided kits) on the city center.

At least 5 people sustained injuries:

More than 20 apartment buildings and cars were damaged.

An investigative-operational group, explosives experts, paramedics, patrol police, and all specialized services are working at the scene.

Police officers are conducting door-to-door checks looking for casualties and providing assistance to residents. As a result of the airstrike on the center of Slovyansk, 24 apartment buildings and three cars were damaged, clarified Vadym Filashkin, the head of Donetsk Oblast Military Administration.

On 12 June, the police recorded 1,235 Russian shellings along the front line and the residential sector of the oblast.

Seven settlements came under fire: the cities of Druzhkivka, Kostiantynivka, Kramatorsk, and Sloviansk; the towns of Malotaranivka and Yasnohirka; and the village of Maiaky.

Twenty-three civilian objects were destroyed or damaged, including 9 residential buildings.

▪️In Druzhkivka, the russians struck with seven FPV drones, killing a person in a civilian car and injuring another four peaceful residents. Three apartment buildings and a car were damaged.

▪️In Kramatorsk, two people were injured as a result of an FPV drone hitting a car. In total, the city withstood 6 UAV attacks; an apartment building, a hotel, an outbuilding, and 2 civilian cars were damaged.

▪️In Kostiantynivka, one person is reported injured, and a hotel was damaged.

▪️In Sloviansk, a drone strike damaged 3 private houses and a garage, while an infrastructure facility was damaged in Maiaky.

▪️The enemy attacked Yasnohirka with a Molniya-2 UAV, damaging 2 private houses, an outbuilding, a garage, and a car. In Malotaranivka, an FPV drone damaged an enterprise.

 Luhansk oblast

Part of Luhansk, as well as Dovzhansk, Rovenky, Otamanivka, and other towns and villages in the occupied part of Luhansk oblast, have been left without water supply. According to the Oblast Military Administration, the Russian “authorities” have announced neither timelines for restoration nor schedules for water delivery to the residents.

What is happening now in the north of Ukraine

Kyiv oblast

According to the Kyiv City State Administration, seven air raid sirens were sounded in the capital this week. In total, they lasted for over two hours.

The warning system is being modernised in the capital. Over 400 new components are already operating in test mode in the left-bank districts. The new installations provide a clearer and more reliable signal in residential areas with high-rise buildings.

The Regional Military Administration reported that housing projects for internally displaced persons are being developed in the Rzhyshchiv community. Work is currently underway to convert the Rzhyshchiv Geriatric Care Home, as well as the halls of residence of three regional vocational colleges, into accommodation for IDPs.

A representative of the Croatian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and partners from UN Women in Ukraine visited the Makariv territorial community to familiarise themselves with the work of the NGO ‘Association of Deminers of Ukraine’ and participants in the SHE DEMINES programme.

A modern rehabilitation centre has begun operating in the Feodosiyivska community.

Zhytomyr oblast

Vitaliy Bunechko, head of the Zhytomyr Regional State Administration, reported that on the night of 13 June, the russians once again attacked Zhytomyr oblast with strike drones. The shelling damaged private homes, a shop and infrastructure facilities. Firefighters quickly extinguished the fires at the sites of the strikes.

After more than three years in russian captivity, soldier Ihor Pyvovar has returned to his home village of Zorokiv in Zhytomyr oblast. For the first time since his release, he was greeted by his family, friends and members of the local community. He served in the 13th Battalion of the 95th Separate Airborne Assault Brigade and was taken prisoner by the russians on 26 December 2022 in Luhansk oblast.

Sumy oblast

According to Myropillia Village Council, a civilian man was injured in an FPV drone strike near Velyka Rybytsia village. The council stated that the entire community remains under constant surveillance by enemy loitering drones.

Sumy Regional Prosecutor’s Office reported that at around 07:30am on 13 June, a russian drone attacked a civilian vehicle in Bilopollia community. A 64-year-old female passenger was killed, while the 66-year-old driver was injured.

During the night of 13 June, russian forces attacked Sumy by “Molniya” drones. At approximately 2am, a drone struck the roof of a warehouse in Zarichnyi district, damaging the building. At 04:17am, another “Molniya” drone hit a private house in the same region, damaging the roof and windows.

In Seredyna-Buda community, a 57-year-old woman was killed when russian strike drones attacked a private home. She died at the scene.

A 51-year-old woman suffered severe injuries during a drone attack on a farm in Sad community and was hospitalized. Four other workers received medical assistance on site. According to Regional Authorities, the strike occurred while employees were moving livestock into a building. Some of the animals were killed and others injured.

A 33-year-old woman who had been critically wounded during the previous night’s attack on railway infrastructure in Shostka community died in hospital despite doctors’ efforts to save her.

Between the morning of 12 June and the morning of 13 June, russian forces carried out more than 70 attacks on 31 settlements across 17 territorial communities. The heaviest shelling was recorded in Sumy, Shostka, and Konotop regions. The enemy used mortars, artillery, MLRS, FPV drones, UAVs, and guided aerial bombs. Air raid alerts lasted 22 hours and 19 minutes during the day.

As of the morning of 13 June, russian attacks across Sumy Oblast had killed three civilian women and injured 17 people. Damage to homes, vehicles, and civilian infrastructure was also reported:

  • In Seredyna-Buda community, a 57-year-old woman was killed and two men aged 37 and 38 were injured. Private homes were damaged.
  • In Berezivka community, a 55-year-old man and a 55-year-old woman were injured when a drone struck a vehicle. Vehicles were damaged.
  • In Duboviazivka community, a civilian infrastructure facility was damaged.
  • In Sumy community, men aged 49, 56, 59, and 86, as well as women aged 29 and 87, were injured. Private houses, an apartment building, a shop, and vehicles were damaged.
  • In Konotop community, a civilian infrastructure facility was damaged.
  • In Sad community, women aged 36, 43, and 51, as well as a 62-year-old man, were injured. A 47-year-old woman suffered an acute stress reaction. Non-residential buildings were damaged.
  • In Bilopollia community, a 64-year-old woman was killed, while a 66-year-old man and a 63-year-old woman were injured. A private house was damaged.
  • In Znob-Novhorodske community, private homes and outbuildings were damaged.
  • In Hlukhiv community, an administrative building was damaged.
  • In Shostka community, a school building, private houses, and outbuildings were damaged. The 33-year-old woman injured during the massive drone attack on the night of 12 June later died in hospital.
  • In Esman community, private homes were destroyed.
  • In Shalyhyne community, a civilian infrastructure facility was damaged.

During the day, local authorities, emergency services, police, and humanitarian organizations evacuated 34 people from border communities.

 

Chernihiv oblast

Chernihiv Oblast – 12 June

Over the past day, russian forces attacked four border communities in Chernihiv Oblast: Novhorod-Siverskyi community, Semenivka community, Horodnia community, and Snovsk community.

According to Chernihiv Border Guard Detachment, russian forces carried out: eight mortar explosions; 22 artillery strikes; one strike by a “Molniya” UAV; nine FPV drone attacks; one explosive drop from a UAV. A total of 12 settlements came under enemy fire.

Chernihiv Regional State Administration informed that as of 1 May, Chernihiv Oblast had officially registered 69,462 internally displaced persons (IDPs).

The largest number of IDPs is registered in Chernihiv community, where 13,286 displaced people are currently living. Of those, 6,189 relocated from other settlements within Chernihiv Oblast.

 

Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

Mykola Lukashuk, Head of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast Council, reported that russian forces dropped 12 guided aerial bombs on Vasylkivka community. Nine people were injured. A multi-storey residential building was partially destroyed.

A market caught fire, while eight shops and ten retail pavilions were damaged. UAVs struck Mykolaivka community. FPV drone attacks in Petropavlivka and Shakhtarske communities caused fires. A multi-storey residential building, a private house, a summer kitchen and two vehicles were damaged.

The occupiers also attacked Nikopol, Chervonohryhorivka, Marhanets and Myrove communities by drones. Two private houses and an outbuilding were damaged.

One person was injured in Nikopol as a result of an evening artillery strike. Infrastructure was damaged in Kamianske.

Enemy forces continued attacking the regional centre, as well as Pokrovske rural, Chervonohryhorivka, Marhanets and Myrove communities by drones and artillery. Fires broke out. Six private houses, one apartment building, an enterprise, an outbuilding, an administrative building and vehicles were damaged.

A UAV attack in Kamianske damaged three private houses, two outbuildings, an extension and two vehicles.

A 63-year-old man was injured in Shakhtarske as a result of a UAV strike. Four apartment buildings and two vehicles were damaged.

Vasylkivka community was struck by two guided aerial bombs. A private house and an outbuilding were damaged.

Drones also targeted Kryvyi Rih and Zelenodolsk community. Fires broke out. A private house, two vehicles, an enterprise, a gas pipeline and infrastructure were damaged.

In Pavlohrad, a UAV attack damaged two private houses, a building and a power line.

Kirovohrad oblast

Novomyrhorod town welcomed home serviceman Ihor Poluiev after his rehabilitation. Prior to that, he had spent more than two years in russian captivity. He was returned to Ukraine during a prisoner exchange on 15 May. Poluiev serves with the 57th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade and holds the rank of captain. 

Poltava oblast

 

Cherkasy oblast

Ukrainian defender Vitalii Trokhymenko, born in 1997, was killed while carrying out a combat mission in Sumy Oblast. He was a resident of Bilozirka community. 

Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine

Zaporizhzhia oblast

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, on 12 June, Defence Forces repelled 38 russian attacks on Huliaipole and Orikhiv regions. The russian forces attempted to advance near Shcherbaky, Stepnohirsk, Rybne, Vozdvyzhivka, Huliaipilske, Verkhnia Tersa, Tsvitkove, Zaliznychne, Rivnopillia, Varvarivka, Hirke, Myrne, Dobropillia and Charivne.

Ivan Fedorov, Head of Zaporizhzhia RMA, stated that 1 person was killed and 8 injured as a result of attacks on the regional centre and Zaporizhzhia oblast. According to updated information, a 58-year-old man was killed in Komyshuvakha by guided aerial bombs strike. The following people were injured in UAV attacks: in Zaporizhzhia – women aged 50, 60 and 62, as well as a man; in Kushuhum – a 63-year-old man and a 58-year-old woman; in Zarichne – a 52-year-old man; in Orikhiv – a 51-year-old man. On 12 June, russian forces launched more than 800 strikes on 49 settlements across Zaporizhzhia oblast.

Mykolaiv oblast

Vitalii Kim, Head of Mykolaiv RMA, informed that as a result of a drone attack on Mykolaiv, 2 people were injured, a 44-year-old woman and a 25-year-old man. Also, an acute stress reaction was diagnosed in a 10-year-old boy. A private house was damaged.

Based on the information provided by the RMA, during the day on 12 June, russian forces attacked Blahodatne village by strike drones. A 35-year-old man was injured.

Odesa oblast

According to the Ukrainian Air Force, a jet-powered UAV was detected moving from the Black Sea toward Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi.

On the evening of 13 June, a jet-powered UAV from the Black Sea was detected in the airspace of the oblast heading toward Odesa.

As a result of a nighttime attack by groups of UAVs moving toward Odesa and Chornomorsk, explosions were recorded.

Kherson oblast

Referring to the Regional Military Administration, at around 3:30pm, a 41-year-old resident of Kherson was injured in a Russian drone attack in the Dniprovskyi district of the city.

At approximately 1:30pm, russian forces shelled Novooleksandrivka by artillery. As a result of the attack, 2 people were injured, a 75-year-old man and a 69-year-old woman. Both sustained blast injuries.

In the morning, the russian military carried out airstrikes on Kherson oblast. Kherson community was targeted. The blast wave and shrapnel severely damaged private houses: roofs and outbuildings were destroyed, windows were shattered and interior rooms were heavily damaged.

 

Yesterday afternoon, a 51-year-old man came under russian shelling in Komyshany. He sustained a blast injury, concussion and an acute stress reaction.

Latest news for today in the western regions of Ukraine

Volyn oblast

Oleh Kukh, Head of Lyubeshiv community, announced that soldier Ivan Sokyrko, from the village of Lyubeshiv, was killed in the war.

Zakarpattia oblast

The RMA reported that senior soldier Mykola Manilchuk was awarded with the III degree For Courage Order (posthumously).

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast

As part of the regional project Caring for the Hero’s Family, a trip to the heart of the Carpathians – Vyhody was organized for relatives of military personnel from Voynylivska and Broshniv-Osadska communities. 18 people took part in the trip.

Lviv oblast

In May, Lviv Regional Center for Emergency Medical Care and Disaster Medicine team made another monthly medical flight to Latvia. This time, 25 soldiers arrived in Riga, where they will begin a new stage of recovery. At the same time, 27 Ukrainians have already returned home after undergoing rehabilitation.

Rivne oblast

The RMA reported that the government has recognized Rivne oblast among the best regions in implementing the Resilience Plan.

Ternopil oblast

55 soldiers from Ternopil will receive UAH 10,000 each to purchase equipment. Since the beginning of the year, 2,829 soldiers from the community have received this assistance, and in 2025, 3,243 defenders received funds.

Khmelnytskyi oblast

New equipment worth almost UAH 8m from the French company Dessintey has been put into operation in the rehabilitation department of Khmelnytskyi City Hospital.

Chernivtsi oblast

On 16 June 16, Chernivtsi will host the Day of Military Cinema. Viewers will be presented with a selection of films about modern warfare, the work of Ukrainian defenders, operations at the front and initiatives that help Ukraine strengthen international support.
