Operational Information from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 22:00

Since the beginning of the day, a total of 207 combat engagements have taken place.

The enemy launched 54 air strikes, dropping 173 guided aerial bombs. In addition, Russian forces deployed 6,035 kamikaze drones and carried out 2,088 attacks on populated areas and the positions of Ukrainian troops.

In the Northern Slobozhanskyi and Kursk directions, the enemy conducted 60 attacks, including three using multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS).

In the Southern Slobozhanskyi direction, the enemy launched seven assaults on the positions of Ukrainian units near the settlements of Lyman, Vovchansk, and toward Pokalyane and Izbytske.

In the Kupiansk direction, Russian forces attacked the positions of the Defense Forces five times today toward Novoplatonivka and Kurylivka.

In the Lyman direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled 14 attempts by the invaders to advance near Derylove, Zarichne, Novomykhailivka, Novoselivka, and toward Drobysheve, Ozerne, Shyikivka, Lyman, and Dibrova.

In the Sloviansk direction, the Defense Forces repelled 11 enemy attempts to advance toward Rai-Oleksandrivka, Kryva Luka, and in the area of Zakytne.

In the Kramatorsk direction, the enemy conducted no offensive operations.

The Defense Forces repelled 15 enemy assaults in the Kostiantynivka direction near Kostiantynivka, Illinivka, Ivanopillia, Rusyn Yar, Stepanivka, and toward Novopavlivka. Two engagements are currently ongoing.

In the Pokrovsk direction, the enemy carried out 24 attacks. The occupiers attempted to advance near Novooleksandrivka, Kotlyne, Udachne, Molodetske, Rodynske, and toward Bilytske, Dorozhne, Novyi Donbas, Shevchenko, Serhiivka, Muravka, Vilne, and Novopavlivka. Three combat engagements are still ongoing.

According to preliminary estimates, Ukrainian forces eliminated 44 occupiers in this direction today and wounded another 15. They destroyed three ammunition depots, one UAV command post, seven vehicles, and three pieces of specialized equipment. Damage was inflicted on one UAV command post, six vehicles, two pieces of specialized equipment, four artillery systems, and 34 personnel shelters. Additionally, 310 unmanned aerial vehicles of various types were destroyed or suppressed.

In the Oleksandrivka direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled two enemy attacks toward Oleksandrohrad and Verbove.

In the Huliaipole direction, there were 23 enemy attacks near Dobropillia, Pryluky, Zlahoda, and toward Huliaipilske, Hirke, Vozdvyzhivka, Tsvitkove, and Charivne. Two combat engagements are currently ongoing.

In the Orikhiv direction, Ukrainian defenders stopped three attempts by the enemy to advance near Mala Tokmachka.

In the Prydniprovske direction, the enemy conducted no offensive operations.

No significant changes in the operational situation were recorded in other directions.

Recent war events in the east of Ukraine

Kharkiv oblast

During the past day, June 16, a total of 237 combat engagements were recorded, according to the Head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Oleh Syniehubov.

In the Southern Slobozhanskyi direction, Russian forces attacked the positions of Ukrainian units six times near the settlements of Okhrimivka, Hraniv, Izbytske, and Zybyne.

In the Kupiansk direction, Ukrainian defenders stopped four enemy attempts to advance toward Podoly and Borivska Andriivka.

During the night of June 17, a missile strike caused a fire on the territory of an enterprise in Derhachi, Kharkiv District. According to the regional State Emergency Service, a warehouse building and four vehicles were damaged. The strike occurred around 1:00 a.m. on the premises of two inactive enterprises.

On the evening of June 16, in Bohodukhiv, four people were injured when a Russian Molniya UAV struck near a row of garages. The victims were close to the impact site, according to the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office.

Russian forces have begun targeting vehicles traveling on the road between Izium and Oskil, according to the Head of the Oskil Military Administration, Hennadii Zahoruiko. The attacks are being carried out using Lancet loitering munitions (UAVs).

Over the past day, June 16, the city of Kharkiv and nine settlements across the region came under enemy attack, according to Oleh Syniehubov. As a result of the shelling, 11 civilians were injured. Russian forces attacked the region with one missile, one guided aerial bomb, and 38 drones.

Among the injured were:

  • In Kharkiv: men aged 67, 44, and 53, and a 66-year-old woman;
  • In Bohodukhiv: men aged 70, 64, and 20, and women aged 55, 45, and 32;
  • In Berezhne village of the Vovchansk community: a 68-year-old woman.

Near Petrivka village in the Zolochiv community, a 60-year-old man was injured when his vehicle struck an explosive device.

Medical personnel also assisted a 57-year-old man who had been injured during shelling in Vovchanski Khutory on June 10.

Enemy drones targeted the Kyivskyi and Kholodnohirskyi districts of Kharkiv.

Civilian infrastructure damaged or destroyed:

  • Kharkiv: a civilian enterprise and three vehicles damaged;
  • Bohodukhiv District: garages in Bohodukhiv; two apartment buildings, three private houses, and an educational institution in Odnorobivka; an apartment building in Klynova-Novoselivka;
  • Kupiansk District: a grain elevator in Velykyi Burluk, a warehouse in Prykolotne, and private homes in Horozhanivka;
  • Izium District: a private house in Borova, as well as a private house and outbuildings in Pisky-Radkivski;
  • Kharkiv District: a civilian enterprise, a vehicle, and a tractor in Derhachi;
  • Chuhuiv District: three private houses and power lines in Staryi Saltiv, and a private house in Berezhne.

The transit evacuation center in Lozova received 243 evacuees during the past day. Since the center began operating, a total of 40,495 people have been registered there.

A 23-year-old serviceman, Bohdan Babenko, from the Bohodukhiv community, was killed in the crash of a Su-24M aircraft in Khmelnytskyi Region on the evening of June 16, according to Bohodukhiv Mayor Volodymyr Bielyi. The State Bureau of Investigation reported that two servicemen were killed in the crash. One of them had been mobilized among the first volunteers on February 24, 2022, while the other chose a military career in 2019.

Thanks to the efforts of Kharkiv residents, military personnel, and internally displaced persons, 46 dog kennels for evacuated dogs living at the rehabilitation center of the NGO “Animal Rescue Kharkiv” have been restored and painted. Another volunteer event to repair and improve kennels will take place on June 20, and all interested individuals are welcome to participate.

Donetsk oblast

Over the past day, Ukrainian defenders repelled 40 enemy assaults in the Pokrovsk direction, which is 15 more than the previous day, according to the General Staff’s report for June 16.

In the Lyman direction, Russian forces attempted to break through Ukrainian defenses 20 times. In the Sloviansk direction, they launched 13 assaults. In the Kramatorsk direction, Russian troops carried out one assault near the city of Chasiv Yar. In the Kostiantynivka direction, the enemy attacked 15 times, while in the Oleksandrivka direction, Russian forces conducted two attacks near Vorone.

In the Sloviansk direction, Russian troops launched a large-scale mechanized assault that lasted for two days, according to the 81st Separate Airmobile Brigade of the 7th Air Assault Corps. Ukrainian defenders successfully repelled the attack. During several waves of assaults, the enemy employed 28 motorcycles, one tank, three infantry fighting vehicles (IFVs), seven vehicles, and more than 50 personnel.

Operators of the 413th Regiment of the Unmanned Systems Forces “Raid” struck a Russian drone storage facility during a middle-strike operation in occupied Mariupol, targeting an industrial zone near the Zakhidnyi neighborhood. According to the regiment, the UAV depot belonged to a unit of Russia’s 60th Separate Motor Rifle Brigade, part of the 5th Combined Arms Army.

On the morning of June 17, in Kramatorsk, a Russian FPV drone carrying a warhead struck a ZIL truck belonging to a municipal utility company. The vehicle was transporting waste and traveling toward the municipal solid waste landfill, according to the city council. The driver was injured and suffered a concussion, a traumatic brain injury, and acoustic-barotrauma.

Also in Kramatorsk, a Russian UAV struck a multi-story residential building, injuring four civilians. Emergency responders rescued six people, including a child and a person with limited mobility, according to the State Emergency Service. Police also reported damage to three civilian vehicles.

On the morning of June 17, one person was killed in Druzhkivka as a result of a Russian FPV drone strike, according to the Donetsk Regional Police. The attack occurred at 04:15 a.m.

Over the past 24 hours, Donetsk Region police recorded more than 1,000 attacks on populated areas and the frontline. As a result of Russian strikes, four people were killed and 17 were injured.

Ten settlements came under fire: the cities of Druzhkivka, Kramatorsk, Mykolaivka, and Sloviansk; the settlements of Bylbasivka, Krasnotorka, Novodonetske, Oleksiievo-Druzhkivka, and Yasnohirka; and the village of Novobakhmetieve.

A total of 166 civilian facilities were damaged or destroyed, including 144 residential buildings.

Russian forces attacked Sloviansk with a KAB-250 guided aerial bomb, Smerch multiple-launch rocket systems, and drones. The strikes killed three people and injured eight others. A total of 117 private homes were damaged.

Kramatorsk endured 26 attacks, involving six KAB-250 aerial bombs, drones, and artillery. Four people were injured. Damage was reported to six apartment buildings, ten private houses, an administrative building, infrastructure facilities, and civilian vehicles.

In Mykolaivka, four civilians were injured, and two apartment buildings were damaged.

One person was injured after a Molniya-2 UAV struck Novobakhmetieve.

In Druzhkivka, two apartment buildings were damaged. In Krasnotorka, two private houses were damaged. In Novodonetske, a bus was damaged, while in Bylbasivka, a private house and infrastructure facilities sustained damage.

According to the Head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration, Vadym Filashkin, Russian forces carried out 44 attacks on settlements in Donetsk region over the past 24 hours on June 16. A total of 475 people were evacuated from the frontline areas, including 31 children.

The “White Angels” police evacuation unit evacuated five people from the frontline town of Druzhkivka, police in the region reported. Due to the threat of drone attacks, officers had to camouflage their service vehicle and approach the addresses on foot.

The first location was a partially destroyed nine-story residential building. At the second location, police evacuated a family—a married couple and their 17-year-old son—from a private housing area. The family had already fled the war twice before and decided this time to move deeper into the rear areas. They were accompanied by their cat, Tymofii.

Luhansk oblast

Russian forces carried out 20 attacks on the Lyman direction during the past day, June 16, according to the Head of the Luhansk Regional Military Administration, Oleksii Kharchevko. Fighting took place near nine settlements.

In Luhansk region, the enemy used tube artillery, mortars, and automatic grenade launchers, and deployed eight drones. Assaults were carried out near Novoiehorivka and from the direction of Tverdokhlibove.

Russian forces have intensified assaults in the Lyman sector of the front. At the same time, Ukrainian military report an increasing number of cases of Russian soldiers surrendering. This was stated by Vasyl Denysiuk, spokesperson for the 66th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after Prince Mstyslav the Brave. According to him, recently soldiers of the 66th Brigade captured Russian troops who crossed the contact line and surrendered voluntarily, after which Ukrainian troops guided them out using drones.

Over the past week, Luhansk border guards eliminated 201 occupiers, while 220 more were wounded, according to the Luhansk Regional Military Administration. Units of the Border Guard Brigade “Pomsta” carried out 149 fire strikes on enemy positions.

Destroyed and damaged equipment includes: a tank, an MT-LB, two multiple launch rocket systems, an armored combat vehicle, 12 artillery guns, and 203 transport vehicles. In addition, six fuel and lubricant depots and two ammunition depots were hit. Ukrainian forces also struck 73 communication, electronic intelligence (RER), and electronic warfare (EW) systems, as well as 21 command posts. A total of 230 drones and one ground robotic complex were neutralized.

Several occupied settlements in the Svatove and Troitske communities were left without electricity, water supply, and mobile communication. According to reports from the Luhansk Regional Military Administration, the occupation authorities have not responded to numerous complaints for over a week.

What is happening now in the north of Ukraine

Kyiv oblast

In the Desnianskyi district of Kyiv, fragments of a ‘Geran-2’ drone carrying a warhead were found in an open area; the drone had been launched by russian forces on 15 June during a massive attack. According to the Kyiv police, the drone’s fragments posed a threat, as the warhead could have exploded at any moment. Bomb disposal experts rendered the munition safe and removed it for subsequent destruction.

According to ‘Detector Media’, the book market near the ‘Pochaina’ metro station suffered significant damage as a result of the russian shelling of Kyiv on the night of 15 June. The fire destroyed part of the market stalls selling books, antiques and souvenirs. The extent of the damage is being assessed.

The Kyiv City State Administration reported that since the start of the full-scale invasion, Kyiv’s emergency medical services have been operating round the clock. Every day, 130 ambulance crews are on duty in the capital, being the first to arrive at the scenes of enemy attacks. Since 24 February 2022, medics have carried out 4,687 call-outs to sites of shelling, worked at 1,687 locations and provided assistance to 2,501 casualties, including 192 children. In June 2026 alone, as of 17 June, the crews worked at 102 locations and treated 102 casualties.

Zhytomyr oblast

A forest fire in Zhytomyr oblast, caused by debris from a russian drone, has been extinguished, according to Vitaliy Bunechko, head of the Regional Military Administration. The fire broke out in the north of the region in a forest area within the Drevlyansky Nature Reserve. Due to strong gusts of wind, the fire spread over a considerable area. To prevent the fire from spreading further, the oblast’s emergency services tackled the blaze simultaneously from both sides of the woodland, whilst foresters created a mineralised strip to form protective barriers. In total, the fire damaged around 25 hectares of woodland. It took four days to extinguish the fire.

Sumy oblast

The Prosecutor’s Office and the Regional Military Administration reported that at around 12:00pm on 17 June, Shostka was attacked by three enemy drones. A 57-year-old man was killed in a russian UAV strike while walking along a street with a bicycle in his hands. Two other people were injured.

Nova Poshta informed that russian forces carried out two drone strikes on its sorting terminal in Sumy on the morning of 17 June. No employees were injured in the attack. The strikes damaged the roof and part of the equipment. Mesh containers holding parcels were also damaged. According to preliminary information, more than 13,000 shipments with a declared value exceeding UAH 42m. were on the terminal premises at the time of the attack.

According to Sumy City Military Administration, on the morning of 17 June, Heran-type UAVs struck a private residential area in Zarichnyi district of Sumy. Outbuildings were damaged. Production and warehouse facilities were also damaged in the attacks.

Oleh Hryhorov, Head of the Regional Military Administration, said that during the night of 17 June, the enemy carried out a massive strike on filling stations in Trostianets community. The drone attack caused significant damage to the infrastructure of petrol stations. Four people were injured. According to Hryhorov, mobile filling stations are planned to be deployed to ensure reserve fuel supplies for residents, emergency services, municipal services and other critical services across the oblast.

The State Emergency Service reported that during the night of 16–17 June, enemy drones attacked Shostka and Trostianets communities. Civilian infrastructure facilities came under attack. In Trostianets community, the blast wave damaged private households and injured four people, including one child who suffered an acute stress reaction. Rescuers extinguished all fires caused by the strikes.

Serhii Kryvosheienko, Head of the Sumy City Military Administration, said that during the night, russian forces attacked an equestrian sports school in Sumy by a drone. The strike hit a stable, killing three horses. Employees of the facility were not injured. Ten other animals were wounded.

From the morning of 16 June to the morning of 17 June, russian forces carried out 55 attacks on 24 settlements across 12 territorial communities of the oblast. The highest number of attacks was recorded in Sumy and Shostka regions. The enemy used artillery, FPV drones, UAVs and guided aerial bombs. Air raid alerts in the oblast lasted for 17 hours and 30 minutes during the reporting period.

The Regional Military Administration informed that, as of the morning of 17 June, seven people had been injured in enemy attacks across Sumy oblast over the previous 24 hours. Destruction and damage to private homes, vehicles and civilian infrastructure facilities were also recorded:

▪️ In Bilopollia community, a 62-year-old woman and men aged 46 and 59 were injured when an enemy drone struck near a vehicle. A non-residential premises and vehicles were damaged;

▪️ In Trostianets community, an 11-year-old girl, men aged 42 and 48, and a 47-year-old woman were injured in a russian drone strike. Non-residential premises, civilian infrastructure facilities and private households were damaged;

▪️ In Seredyna-Buda community, private residential houses and outbuildings were destroyed, while another private residential house was damaged. A 70-year-old man sought medical assistance for injuries sustained during the night of 15 June when an enemy drone struck the community;

▪️ In Nova Slobidka community, a private residential house was damaged;

▪️ In Hlukhiv community, civilian infrastructure facilities, a vehicle and residential houses were damaged;

▪️ In Znob-Novhorodske community, non-residential premises were damaged;

▪️ In Yunakivka community, a private residential house was destroyed;

▪️ In Shostka community, a non-residential premises and residential houses were damaged;

▪️ In Sumy community, three horses were killed, while non-residential premises and a civilian infrastructure facility were damaged;

▪️ In Esman community, private residential houses were destroyed;

▪️ In Svesa community, a non-residential building was destroyed.

During the reporting period, local authorities, together with units of the State Emergency Service, National Police and non-governmental organisations, evacuated 51 people from border communities.

Chernihiv oblast

Viacheslav Chaus, Head of Chernihiv Regional Military Administration, said that on 16 June, russian attacks struck two energy facilities in Chernihiv oblast.

The National Police and the Regional Military Administration informed that on 16 June, the enemy attacked an enterprise in Novhorod-Siverskyi. The strikes caused a fire. Two lorries at the enterprise were damaged, as well as a residential house that was hit in a separate strike.

Chernihiv Border Guard Detachment reported that on 16 June, russian forces attacked four border communities in Chernihiv oblast: Novhorod-Siverskyi, Semenivka, Horodnia and Snovsk. The enemy carried out mortar attacks (13 explosions), artillery strikes (3 explosions), FPV drone attacks (5 explosions), and dropped explosive devices from UAVs (2 explosions). Six settlements came under enemy fire.

According to the Northern Forest Office branch, more than 67,000 hectares of forests in Chernihiv oblast remain inaccessible due to the security situation caused by russian attacks. Out of nearly 420,000 hectares of forest fund land, this accounts for approximately one-sixth of the territory. The figure changes constantly depending on the situation in the border areas. Novhorod-Siverskyi Forestry has been affected the most.

Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

Over the past period, 22 enemy UAVs were shot down over the region.

In the Nikopol district, Russian forces attacked the district center, the Pokrovska rural community, and the Myrove community using FPV drones. Infrastructure was damaged. In a separate wave of strikes in the same district, three men were injured. The attacks targeted the district center as well as the Chervonohryhorivka, Pokrovska rural, Marhanets, and Myrove communities. Damage was reported to two private houses, an apartment building, a utility structure, a garage, and two vehicles.

In the Dnipro district, a UAV strike in the Solonianska community caused a fire. A private house and local infrastructure were damaged.

In the Samar district, the city of Samar came under drone attack, resulting in a fire in an administrative building.

In the Kryvyi Rih district, the Hrushevska community was struck by drones. A private house, another residential building, a truck, and infrastructure were damaged.

In the Synelnykove district, a drone attack in the Mezhova community damaged a vehicle.

Kirovohrad oblast

It has become known about the deaths of ten defenders from the Vinnytsia region: Valerii Parsiak, Oleksandr Vereshchahin, Ruslan Sokolov, Dmytro Opaliuk, Yurii Kulyk, Nazar Vitiuk, Oleh Lukov, Yevhenii Muradov, Vasyl Matviichuk, and Ivan Pidlubnyi.

Poltava oblast

In the village of Sokolivske, in the Kropyvnytskyi district, a football arena has started operating in a test mode. It was built by the parents of 21-year-old fallen serviceman Mykola Zhydkov in his memory.

Mykola had trained in football since childhood, played for a Polish club, and after the start of the full-scale war returned to Ukraine to defend it.

The arena includes two fields with dimensions of 40×20 meters and 20×10 meters.

Cherkasy oblast

An unexploded warhead of a Russian Kh-101 missile was found in the region, posing a deadly threat. Police explosives experts neutralized the ordnance and transported it to a designated site for controlled detonation.

Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine

Zaporizhzhia oblast

Today, 17 June, russian forces again attacked Zaporizhzhia with a drone. As a result of the shelling, a fire broke out in an open area. There were no injuries or fatalities. russians also attacked Komyshuvakha. One man was injured as a result of the drone strike.

Yesterday, around 11:00 pm, Russian forces launched an attack on Zaporizhzhia using strike UAVs. Five enemy drones hit civilian residential areas. One person was killed. Seven people were injured and hospitalized. 9 residential buildings and non-residential structures were damaged in the Oleksandrivskyi and Kosmichnyi districts of Zaporizhzhia.

According to Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, yesterday, 16 June, the occupiers carried out 931 strikes on 50 settlements in Zaporizhzhia oblast. russian forces launched 28 airstrikes on Zarichne, Ternuvate, Komyshuvakha, Yasna Poliana, Rizdvianka, Lisne, Tavriiske, Yurkivka, Novoselivka, Vilnianka, Novoivanivka, Shyroke, Kopani, Hirske, Babashy, Omelnyk, Verkhnia Tersa, Rivne, Vozdvyzhivka, and Danylivka. 642 UAVs of various types (mostly FPV drones) attacked Zaporizhzhia, Kushuhum, Balabyne, Malokaterynivka, Lysohirka, Rozumivka, Richne, Novoiakovlivka, Mykhailo-Lukasheve, Stepnohirsk, Prymorske, Stepove, Pavlivka, Lukianivske, Mali Shcherbaky, Huliaipole, Orikhiv, Zaliznychne, Shcherbaky, Novodanylivka, Novoandriivka, Mala Tokmachka, Charivne, Huliaipilske, Vozdvyzhivka, Dobropillia, Pryluky, Staroukrainka, Sviatopetrivka, Rybne, Verkhnia Tersa, and Olenokostiantynivka. Eight MLRS strikes hit Orikhiv, Mala Tokmachka, Novoivanivka, and Novoselivka. Another 253 artillery strikes targeted Richne, Novoiakovlivka, Stepnohirsk, Prymorske, Stepove, Pavlivka, Lukianivske, Mali Shcherbaky, Huliaipole, Orikhiv, Zaliznychne, Shcherbaky, Novodanylivka, Novoandriivka, Mala Tokmachka, Charivne, Dobropillia, Pryluky, Huliaipilske, Staroukrainka, Verkhnia Tersa, Sviatopetrivka, and Vozdvyzhivka. Authorities received 72 reports of damage to housing, vehicles, and infrastructure facilities. One person was killed and fourteen others were injured as a result of enemy attacks on Zaporizhzhia and Zaporizhzhia region.

According to the General Staff, as of 22:00 on 17 June, there were 23 russian attacks in the areas of Dobropillia, Pryluky, Zlahoda, Huliaipilske, Hirske, Vozdvyzhivka, Tsvitkove, and Charivne towards Huliaipole. Two combat engagements were still ongoing. Ukrainian defenders stopped three enemy attempts to advance near Mala Tokmachka towards Orikhiv. Over the previous day, 16 June, Ukraine’s Defense Forces repelled 29 russian attacks towards Huliaipole direction and another five towards Orikhiv.

Ukraine’s Defense Forces struck two russian UAV command posts in Zaporizhzhia oblast. According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Ukrainian defenders carried out strikes on two enemy locations near Kamianske (Vasylivka region) and near Novoprokopivka (Polohy region). The extent of the damage is being clarified.

Mykolaiv oblast

According to Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration, yesterday, 16 June, combat operations were conducted in the region. As of the morning of 17 June, there was no damage and no casualties.

Yesterday, the enemy launched strikes, preliminarily using MLRS, on Kutsurub community. As a result of the attack, a private house was damaged in the village of Dniprovske, and a power transmission line was damaged in the village of Parutyne. The enemy also attacked Halytsynove community with a Molniya-type strike drone. In addition, yesterday the enemy attacked Ochakiv community seven times with FPV drones. No casualties were reported.

Kherson oblast

According to Kherson Regional Military Administration, today, 17 June, at approximately 16:20, russian forces attacked the village of Sahaidachne in Novoraisk community with a drone. A 62-year-old man who was in his yard sustained facial bruising, concussion, blast injuries, and a closed traumatic brain injury.

A man who had been attacked by a russian drone the previous night in Dniprovskyi district of Kherson was taken to hospital. The 41-year-old resident was diagnosed with blast injuries and shrapnel wounds to his leg.

Medical assistance was also provided to a resident of Pryozerne whose yard was struck by a russian shell on the morning of 11 June. She suffered blast injuries and concussion.

A woman who came under a russian drone strike in Dniprovskyi district of Kherson on the evening of 15 June was hospitalized. The 48-year-old resident was diagnosed with blast injuries and concussion.

According to the Police of Kherson oblast, yesterday, 16 June, enemy attacks affected Kherson, Bilozerka, Romashkove, Veletenske, Tomyna Balka, Zorivka, Rozlyv, Stanislav, Kizomys, Antonivka, Blahovishchenske, Dniprovske, Sadove, Mykilske, Sofiivka, Pryozerne, Petrivka, Novodmytrivka, Posad-Pokrovske, Chaichyne, Chornobaivka, Yantarne, Rakivka, Petropavlivka, Vysoke, Beryslav, Nova Kamianka, Chervone, Kostyrka, Myroliubivka, Starosillia, Novovoskresenske, Virivka, Kozatske, and Vesele. The attacks damaged four apartment buildings and four private houses, a critical infrastructure facility, an emergency ambulance vehicle, a route bus, 10 cars, solar panels, and a gas pipeline. As a result of russian shelling, two people were killed and 18 injured, including police officers, medics, and utility workers.

The head of Beryslav Regional Military Administration, Volodymyr Lytvynov, reported that 198 people evacuated from settlements in Beryslav region of Kherson oblast that are shelled daily by russian forces over the past week. Among them were 36 children.

Latest news for today in the western regions of Ukraine

Volyn oblast

6 farms in Volyn oblast received UAH 5.7m in interest-free loans as part of the government’s program to support farmers. Financing is provided through the State Agrarian Register based on the results of a competitive selection. Farmers will use the funds received to develop production and diversify their activities.

Zakarpattia oblast

At around 11:00am, law enforcement officers received a report of a mine being planted in the building of the Regional Military Administration. For safety reasons, all employees and visitors were promptly evacuated from the building. Currently, explosives technicians, dog handlers, and specialized services are working at the scene, carefully examining the building and the surrounding area.

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast

The Carpathian region welcomed the participants of the 2nd round of the Carpathian Change project. Another 200 children of defenders, rescuers, fallen Defenders of Ukraine, and missing persons from the Kherson and Mykolaiv oblasts arrived in the oblast.

Lviv oblast

In support of the soldiers of the International Legion, the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine donated over UAH 3.7m. This amount was collected during a charity auction thanks to the joint efforts of the Victory Birds team, the Main Intelligence Directorate, and all those who care about this initiative.

Rivne oblast

Circle of Support seminars have started in seven communities of Rivne oblast as part of the All-Ukrainian mental health program How are you? The events brought together over 100 representatives of the social sphere, law enforcement agencies, the State Emergency Service, medics and public organizations.

Ternopil oblast

Servicemen of Ternopil community receive funds in the amount of UAH 15,000 for treatment and rehabilitation. 282 soldiers have already used this assistance and received payments in 2026.

Khmelnytskyi oblast

According to the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, a Su-24M front-line bomber of the 7th Petro Franko Tactical Aviation Brigade crashed in Khmelnytskyi oblast. The crew of the aircraft (pilot and navigator) were performing a mission. Major Bohdan Zaharulko and Senior Lieutenant Bohdan Babenko died as a result of the crash. Law enforcement agencies and the State Emergency Service are working at the scene. There are no civilian casualties.

Chernivtsi oblast

At the beginning of the full-scale war, Chernivtsi region sheltered over 110,000 internally displaced persons, becoming one of the regions that received the largest number of people forcibly displaced from their native oblast and communities. Currently, it is home to over 71,000 IDPs.

International support of Ukraine in the russian-Ukrainian war (russia’s invasion of Ukraine)

Ukraine and Latvia have signed a Drone Deal to develop joint defense capabilities. The agreement envisages the development of practical cooperation in the field of defense innovations, training of specialists and technological solutions to strengthen the defense potential of both countries. The Drone Deal is a format of long-term defense partnerships built on common interests and technologies.
